0:56
I'm so excited about this episode because
0:58
I'm sharing with you eight simple ways
1:00
to get mega organized. And
1:03
I've got to be honest with you,
1:05
I love organization and for as long
1:07
as I can remember I have always
1:09
been super organized,
1:12
super productive and this is
1:14
one of my superpowers. All.
1:16
Of my friends say I'm the most are
1:19
person that they'd know. And. I want
1:21
to share with you eight ways that you
1:23
can get mega organized Today. And. I
1:25
truly believe that we need to master
1:27
the skill because when we are more
1:29
organized, we are more productive. conscious
1:33
of our time. And
1:35
if we are not organized and not productive
1:37
and not conscious of our time, we waste
1:39
a ton of time and we all know
1:42
that this life is so precious. We only
1:44
get one and we don't want to waste
1:46
a second of it and faffing about. We
1:48
do not want that. So grab
1:51
your pen and paper. I'm going to share
1:53
with you eight simple ways that you can
1:55
get mega organized right now. Okay.
1:57
The first one is You want
1:59
to look at. your computer desktop
2:02
A came. Now. I want
2:04
you to look at it. And
2:06
look at all of the files.
2:08
On your desktop. like do you have
2:11
a million files on your desktop and
2:13
download and shortcuts. And. Not joking.
2:15
I'm looking at my screen right now
2:17
and there is nothing but a beautiful
2:19
family photo on my desktop. Now that
2:22
doesn't always happen like of course there
2:24
are things often on my desktop, but
2:26
I organize them straight away. I don't
2:28
leave a million things on my desktop
2:30
because. That. Makes me feel
2:32
overwhelmed to be honest. So.
2:35
Look. At your a stop. And. Look at all
2:38
the files. The. Download the short cause
2:40
everything on there and get organized. Organize them
2:42
into where they need to go, put them
2:44
into google drive or wherever you store your
2:46
things. And. Get them off your
2:48
desktop because this digital mess is the
2:51
equivalent of having papers just thrown all
2:53
of your desk and we all know
2:55
how difficult it is to focus in
2:57
that kind of environment. So. Source
2:59
File or delete anything that is on
3:02
your desktop and what you can also
3:04
do is then set your desktop background
3:06
of your current vision board or a
3:08
beautiful family photos. Or. Something that
3:10
makes you smile. Currently mine is like I
3:13
said before, that beautiful family photo and I
3:15
absolutely love it! Makes me so happy looking
3:17
at the photo. Now. If you
3:19
are completely overwhelmed by files, try
3:22
creating a folder that is time
3:24
based, for example, Twenty. Twenty
3:26
Four or April Twenty Twenty Four
3:28
and dump Everything from that time
3:30
period in that folder. And this
3:32
can save you the hassle of
3:34
sorting through things manually, but still
3:36
allows you to easily search for
3:39
things that you need. Or you
3:41
can do them based on Youtube
3:43
videos or photos or whatever it
3:45
is. But for me, I use
3:47
Google Drive. I'm obsessed with it.
3:49
My entire businesses run from Google
3:51
Drive. Get Google Drive and file
3:53
and organize your life. Your business.
3:56
And your personalized. So. well
3:58
that you're not wasting time
4:00
looking for documents or anything.
4:03
I know where everything is. It
4:05
is all labeled correctly and filed
4:08
neatly in my Google Drive. I never have
4:10
to waste any time looking for
4:13
things. So that is your
4:15
first one. Like this will take you
4:17
probably three minutes and the result is
4:19
you feeling calm and so much
4:22
clarity every time you open your
4:24
computer. How awesome is that,
4:26
right? Okay, so next up
4:28
we've got your car. I want to
4:30
talk to you about this. So it
4:33
is so easy for your car to
4:35
turn into a storage unit of food,
4:37
trash, random items, kids toys, all
4:40
sorts of things. Now I have
4:42
to admit before having Bambi, my
4:44
car was crystal clean 24 seven. Always.
4:48
It's not always like that now. There is often
4:50
books, toys, things left
4:52
in there. But this mess
4:55
can then trigger a stress response every
4:57
time you sit in the driver's seat
4:59
and no one wants spiked
5:01
cortisol levels. No thank you. So
5:04
what I want you to do is take
5:06
a basket, a clothes basket, whatever out
5:08
into your car and fill it with
5:10
every single item that doesn't belong there
5:12
and then bring it inside and sort
5:14
through everything. Putting things away. What
5:17
we say is in their home
5:19
as needed and trashing, recycling, whatever
5:21
else. So what we've always said
5:24
to Bambi from day one is like, where's
5:26
this item's home? Put it in its
5:28
home. Everything has a home. We're always
5:30
like, where do you put your shoes? Put them in
5:33
their home. Everything has a
5:35
home. And we did this with Leo as
5:37
well and it was really powerful. And then
5:39
you can't argue like that's its home. That's
5:41
where it goes. So at the end of
5:43
the day, everything goes back in its home.
5:45
Okay. The other thing that you can
5:47
do is like every time you get out of your car,
5:49
literally take everything. And this is what
5:52
we do. I try not to leave anything in
5:54
the car. And that sometimes means doing a couple
5:56
of trips to the car, but that's okay. As
5:58
long as it means that everything is in its home. out and then
6:00
when I get back in there, it is calm, it
6:03
is clean, which allows
6:05
me to exhale and not
6:07
go, oh my God, I need
6:09
to clean my car. And so
6:11
this might take like five to 10 minutes,
6:14
depending how dirty your car
6:16
is, but the result is that
6:18
huge feeling of satisfaction every time
6:20
you get into your freshly cleaned
6:22
car. And I cannot tell you
6:24
the mental clarity, the calmness and
6:28
the inner peace that you feel when
6:30
your space is just
6:33
clean. You know what I'm talking
6:36
about. You know what I'm talking about. And
6:38
if you want to show up as the best version
6:40
of yourself, if you want to create,
6:42
if you want to be the
6:45
best in your business, if you
6:47
want to be the best in
6:49
your chosen career, then you need
6:51
clarity and you need space to
6:54
have clarity. And when you have
6:56
mess everywhere, that clutters your mind.
6:59
So that is your next one, the car. All
7:02
right, let's go to number three, your
7:04
subscriptions. Okay. So having subscriptions
7:06
that you don't use is like flushing
7:08
money down the toilet. So
7:11
I want you to check in with yourself and your
7:13
bank account and ask yourself
7:15
like, do I really need all of
7:17
those streaming services? And what
7:19
about all those business subscriptions that you haven't used
7:21
for ages? And you can
7:23
do this on your iPhone. You can go
7:25
to the subscription setting and see all of
7:28
the subscriptions that you have. And
7:30
I have done this before in the past and I was
7:32
shocked. I was like, oh my goodness, I didn't even know
7:34
I was still paying for this, this and this.
7:36
And I wasn't even using it anymore. So
7:39
go to the subscription settings in
7:41
your app and look at all
7:43
of the subscriptions that you have
7:45
and check your email and stop
7:47
flushing money down the toilet. Okay.
7:50
What You can also do is take a moment
7:52
to glance through your bank statements. Now Some banks
7:54
will even highlight them for you, making this process
7:56
even easier. And I Want you to identify the
7:58
ones that you don't need. Read and go
8:00
ahead and cancel them right now. Salvage.
8:03
My take ten minutes out of your day.
8:05
But. The results of potentially
8:08
hundreds, if not thousands of
8:10
dollars saved every year. Yes,
8:12
He. Can thank me later. That is
8:15
amazing And the mental clarity like these
8:17
are open tabs right? And when we
8:19
have open tabs we can't do our
8:21
best work because we are not fully
8:23
one hundred percent focused a game. So.
8:26
Let's go to number for. Your wardrobe
8:28
Okay. I. Have
8:30
a question for you. Do you feel
8:32
adult of stress every time you open
8:35
your wardrobe? I'd definitely has in the
8:37
past. And. Maybe it's crammed, truthful
8:39
to see anything properly, and maybe
8:41
is stocked with clothes that you
8:43
don't even like that don't fit
8:45
for that, don't even feel like
8:47
you any more. Can. You
8:49
relate. I know you can my friend. So.
8:51
I want you to go through your
8:54
wardrobe with and editors I and to
8:56
write it down to the essential that
8:58
you regularly were and love and everything
9:01
else. I want you to give them
9:03
onto friends or host a clothing swap
9:05
party or give them to a homeless
9:07
or shelter or donate them to a
9:10
charity shop. How this might take you
9:12
an hour or a bit longer depending
9:14
how bad is your wardrobe is. Thought.
9:17
The results of that sweet sweet
9:19
relief every morning when it's time
9:21
to get dressed. And you
9:23
are confronted with a streamlined selection
9:26
of clothes that you actually like
9:28
wearing and that spiel aligned and
9:30
true for you. My. Wardrobe
9:33
is immaculate. But. There
9:35
are so many things in there
9:37
that I don't wear anymore that
9:39
don't feel like this version of
9:41
me today. And I'm keeping
9:44
them mostly for sentimental value. Like I've
9:46
got this outfit that Knicks proposed to
9:48
me in over ten years ago. Now
9:50
he proposed to me in this little
9:52
jumpsuit. It is not my style at
9:55
all anymore, but I can't let it
9:57
go. And he has like. You.
9:59
have to late to the summer, but
10:01
it's so cute. Like you proposed to me
10:03
when I was wearing this and like
10:05
I'm a little bit sentimental like that so I need
10:08
to let things go
10:10
but at least my wardrobe is
10:12
immaculate and it doesn't cause me
10:14
overwhelm or stress but there
10:16
are things in there, many things in there
10:19
that just don't feel like the
10:21
version of me today, you know? And
10:23
I have a little tip for you guys,
10:25
like if you want to learn more about
10:28
streamlining your fashion choices or reducing your clothes
10:30
that you buy and extending the life of
10:32
your garments. I want you to
10:34
check out this epic interview that I
10:36
did with mother-daughter fashion duo Daisy and
10:38
Carolyn and it is called How to
10:40
Quit Fast Fashion and that
10:42
is episode 534 and I'll link to
10:45
that in the show notes. And also
10:47
there is another incredible episode Sustainability 101
10:49
Stopping Fast Fashion and Saving the Planet
10:51
with Celeste Tesseriro and that is episode
10:54
546. So if you want to up
10:57
your conscious
10:59
fashion game then check out those two episodes,
11:01
I will link to them in the show
11:03
notes for you. Alright let's move to
11:05
number five, your inbox. Okay when
11:08
you think about your email inbox,
11:10
how do you feel? An overflowing
11:14
inbox can be so stressful
11:16
right? I mean right
11:19
now I've got so many in
11:21
my inbox but there are times
11:23
where I literally get to inbox zero every day and
11:25
then there's times where I don't and it
11:28
is stressful. It's
11:30
overwhelming, I'm not gonna lie but let's tackle it.
11:32
Here is how I tackle it. So I
11:34
want you to take some time right now or
11:37
at least once a day to
11:39
get your inbox to zero. I
11:41
want you to create folders or
11:43
labels for different types of emails,
11:45
delegate to your team, archive what
11:47
you can, delete irrelevant messages and
11:49
unsubscribe from anything that you do
11:51
not read. How many things in
11:53
your inbox right now? How many subscriptions in your inbox
11:56
right now do you have that you don't even open?
11:58
Go and unsubscribe. subscribe my friend because
12:01
that is taking up space,
12:03
mental space. So
12:05
what I like to do is dedicated
12:07
email time. So whether that is 20
12:09
minutes in the morning or 20 minutes
12:11
in the afternoon, and I just laser
12:13
focus and get it done. But
12:16
sometimes that doesn't happen and that's okay.
12:19
But I try and do this at least once a
12:21
day. And the
12:23
mental clarity that I feel my friends is
12:26
so good. So set yourself
12:29
a timer for 10 to 15 minutes initially
12:31
and then put that in your calendar every day at the
12:33
same time. So that is when you can clear your inbox.
12:35
We don't want to spend too much time in our inbox.
12:38
Please do not spend too much time in your inbox. Just
12:41
get in there, do what you need to do,
12:43
create the folders, delegate, archive, do whatever you've got
12:45
to do and then get back to your life
12:47
or your business. The
12:49
results will mean that you will
12:51
radically reduce your digital clutter along
12:54
with radically reducing your stress. Yes,
12:57
please. Hey? Yes,
12:59
please. Okay, so let's
13:01
move to number six, your
13:03
home office or your workspace. A
13:06
cluttered home office or workspace can
13:08
significantly hinder your productivity. I know
13:10
for me that I literally have
13:12
to like clean my office before
13:14
I start working. But to be
13:16
honest, it's pretty much always clean. But if there
13:18
is anything in the room, I have to organize
13:21
it. And you can start by
13:23
decluttering your desk, organizing your paperwork,
13:25
shredding documents that you no longer need
13:27
and arranging your office supplies. Consider
13:30
like a cable management solution and keep
13:32
all of your wires untangled and out
13:34
of sight and finish by sticking up
13:37
a visual reminder of your vision
13:39
board or your goals for that year. I
13:41
have a vision board right above my computer.
13:43
So I'm looking at it whilst I'm sitting
13:45
doing my work or standing. And
13:48
it is just so good.
13:50
Like what are you looking at? If you can
13:52
look out the window or the water even better,
13:54
like do that. Set yourself
13:57
up for success. Create
13:59
a workspace. that is conducive to
14:02
productivity. And the more
14:04
your workspace is clear and cluttered free,
14:07
that is going to help you boost
14:09
your productivity and your clarity, making
14:11
you do better work, right? So
14:15
it will take maybe an hour,
14:17
maybe more, depending how diabolical
14:19
your office is, but
14:21
you could do it in 10 minutes. And
14:23
the results are you
14:25
feeling more productive and less
14:27
distracted in your workspace, boosting
14:29
your efficiency and focus for
14:32
that whole day, okay? So
14:35
what I like to do is I
14:37
start my workday with a clean space
14:40
and it truly helps, truly
14:43
helps. If you don't believe me, try it out.
14:45
Cause a whole mess in your workspace and then
14:47
try and work and then try the next day
14:50
with it clean and tidy and then see how
14:52
that feels. Okay, let's move
14:54
on to number seven. Let's
14:56
talk about your kitchen, pantry and your
14:58
fridge. Now the kitchen is the heart
15:00
of the home, but it can also
15:02
be the epicenter of clutter. A
15:05
clean pantry and fridge won't just feel
15:08
amazing and make cooking and meal planning
15:10
so easy. It also will make all
15:12
of your health and your nutrition goals
15:14
far easier to stick to. So
15:17
I want you to organize your
15:19
pantry by categorizing items and using
15:21
storage solutions like jars
15:23
or bins or labels and clean out
15:25
your fridge. We get our housekeeper to
15:27
do that every Friday. The fridge completely
15:30
gets a clean and it looks amazing.
15:32
But to be honest, during the week,
15:34
it's pretty good, but every week at
15:37
least do one big clean and like
15:39
check the expiration dates, get rid of
15:41
things that are expired and
15:44
organize the contents for easy access. Something that
15:46
we like to do after the markets on
15:48
Sunday, I go to the organic farmers markets
15:51
every Sunday is I bring all of
15:53
the produce, Nick and I will wash everything and say
15:55
we get a whole bunch of spinach or mint, we'll
15:57
wash it and put it in glass containers so that.
16:00
It's just so easy to grab during the week. And
16:02
again, like this will only take, depending
16:04
how bad your kitchen and your fridge
16:06
are, but it could take
16:08
an hour, maybe less, but the results are
16:11
amazing. You will feel the joy
16:14
of that well-organized kitchen and easier
16:17
meal preparation and a giant boost
16:19
to your health and nutrition goals.
16:22
Your health is everything. Health is wealth. My
16:24
friend, if we are not taking care of
16:26
ourself, we will not
16:28
show up as the best version
16:30
of ourselves. So please, organize
16:33
this area of your life and prioritize
16:36
you and your health because you are worth
16:38
it, my friend. And the
16:41
last one, let's talk about number eight, your
16:43
personal care and wellness items. I have
16:45
a question for you. Are you a bower
16:48
bird for makeup and skincare products? Does
16:50
your bathroom cabinet rival Sephora in
16:52
terms of sheer number of items?
16:55
If you answered yes, let's do something about
16:57
that, my friend. So what I
16:59
want you to do is I want you to
17:02
go through your bathroom cabinets and drawers and dispose
17:04
of expired products, organize your toiletries, wash your makeup
17:06
brushes. This I really need to
17:08
do more of and declutter items that you
17:11
no longer use. Gift them on,
17:13
get rid of them. This is also a
17:15
really great time to review the ingredients listing
17:17
on your products and toss out anything that
17:20
does not align with your core values. Remember
17:23
that your body is your
17:25
temple, my friend. And
17:27
whatever we put on it gets
17:29
absorbed straight into our bloodstream. And
17:32
so if you want to be the healthiest
17:34
and best version of yourself, you have to
17:36
look at the products that you're putting on
17:38
your body. And so get
17:40
rid of anything that has anything that is not
17:42
good for you. When I
17:44
first learned about toxic free products, I went
17:46
into the bathroom and had
17:49
a huge black bin bag
17:51
and I literally binned everything.
17:54
Now you can take this to a charity shop if
17:56
you want to. You can gift
17:58
it on to someone else. like I really
18:00
don't like that. I'm like I don't want
18:02
to gift this toxic stuff onto people, but
18:05
you do you, you do what feels right
18:07
for you. And this may
18:09
take, I don't know, 20
18:12
minutes depending how much stuff that you
18:14
have. And the results are a
18:16
streamlined bathroom and wellness routine
18:18
making your daily self-love, self-care
18:21
rituals more enjoyable and efficient.
18:23
Now we do regular little cleans of
18:26
our bathroom because you guys know like
18:28
just how do things make its way
18:30
into the doors. I just, I don't
18:32
know. I'm like how did this get so messy?
18:35
So we do this regularly and it
18:37
really truly does make me more organized,
18:39
more productive and allows me to really
18:42
enjoy my routine. And I
18:44
invest in really beautiful
18:46
organic, sustainable cruelty-free products that
18:49
are absolutely beautiful for me
18:51
and the planet. And
18:54
instead of just throwing them into a
18:56
drawer, like I've really started taking care
18:58
of them and like honoring them and
19:01
I've noticed such a difference in my skin
19:03
in doing this. I'm not even joking. So
19:06
try it too my friends. So there
19:08
you have it. They are
19:10
the eight ways to get
19:13
way more organized. So what
19:15
are the key takeaways from this process? Each
19:17
of these tasks takes a little time
19:20
upfront but pays off exponentially down the
19:22
track in terms of peace
19:24
of mind, efficiency,
19:26
productivity and more.
19:30
And by tackling these areas, you're
19:32
not only going to create a
19:34
more organized environment, you will also
19:36
enhance your daily living experience and
19:38
who doesn't want more of that, right? And
19:41
finally, the key to successful organization is
19:43
not to overwhelm yourself, it is to
19:45
take it one step at a time.
19:47
So do a little bit every day
19:49
and revel in the process of creating
19:51
more orderly and serene space for you
19:53
and your family. So
19:55
I hope you got a lot out of this. Take
19:58
these eight simple ways. to get
20:00
more mega organized and do
20:02
them once a quarter for yourself or once a
20:05
month. Do whatever feels good for you but
20:07
truly if you want to be
20:09
more productive and more organized, these areas
20:11
of your life need to be considered. If
20:13
you want to do better in your business,
20:16
if you want to do better in your
20:18
personal life, these areas need to be looked
20:20
at. You cannot have a mess
20:22
in all of those areas and expect
20:24
to be thriving in your personal life
20:26
and in your business, okay? So
20:29
let's clean them up, let's get organized and
20:31
come on over to Instagram and tell me what
20:34
one you're gonna do first. I would absolutely love
20:37
to hear from you and if you've got a
20:39
lot out of this episode, please subscribe to the
20:41
show and leave me a review on Apple Podcasts
20:43
because that means that we can inspire and educate
20:46
even more people together and also means that all
20:48
of my episodes, they'll just pop up in your
20:50
feed babe so that you never have to go
20:52
searching for a new episode. Now, like
20:55
I said, come and tell me on Instagram which one of these you
20:57
are going to do and before I go,
20:59
I just wanted to say thank you so
21:01
much for being here. I am so grateful.
21:03
I love sharing just the things that work
21:05
for me in my life with you and
21:08
I truly hope that they resonate. So please
21:10
come and let me know if they do
21:13
and now if there is someone in your life
21:15
that you can think of that would really benefit
21:17
from this episode, maybe it's your partner, you
21:19
could get them to listen to it and do this
21:21
together or your roommate and do this together. I would
21:24
love so much if you could share this with them
21:26
and the way that you can do that is by
21:28
taking a screenshot, sharing it on your social media or
21:30
emailing it to them or texting it to them. Do
21:32
whatever you've got to do to get this in their
21:34
ears and until next time don't
21:36
forget that love is sexy, healthy,
21:38
is liberating and wealthy isn't a
21:41
dirty word.
