Welcome to Fly Over Conservative Podcast
0:06
with David and Stacey Whited, where we break
0:08
down current events and examine culture through
0:10
the lens of conservative Christian values.
0:12
Today's guest
0:15
is the founder and president of Ask
0:17
Dr. Brown Ministries and Fire
0:20
School of Ministry. That sounds amazing.
0:22
He's the host of a daily talk radio show
0:25
called The Line of Fire and is
0:27
the author of 40,
0:29
I said 40, 40 books. Unbelievable.
0:33
A new book called Why So Many Christians
0:35
Have Left the Faith. Welcome to the show,
0:38
Dr. Michael Brown.
0:43
Thank you. Great to be with you.
0:46
Oh, and it's an honor. We're, you know, reading
0:48
your bio and familiar with your work.
0:50
I was like,
0:51
I bet most people have never read 40 books. I
0:53
know, 40 books. After school. And
0:56
he's written 40, 40 books. I
0:59
love the opportunity to do this show and
1:01
really selfishly, one of our objectives
1:03
was we're curious and we love having
1:05
conversations with people that have
1:08
worked through in private
1:10
some of the toughest topics of our time. And
1:12
they've really pondered this and looked at it. And
1:15
then they bring those things in the public and they've
1:17
thought through them deeply. And we
1:19
are in confusing times where people are, you
1:22
know, kind of grappling with
1:23
things that they know that maybe aren't
1:25
true or were true. And they're kind of, you know,
1:28
working through some of these tough topics. And
1:30
you've done that in private and you bring them to
1:33
the public in your books, in
1:35
your radio podcast, you answer some of the
1:37
toughest questions that people are struggling
1:39
with today. You're an incredible gift.
1:43
Well,
1:43
this is the world we live in, you know, and the
1:45
gospel is absolutely relevant. And
1:48
it's not a matter of us being political
1:50
as much as just being practical.
1:52
Our kids, our grandkids
1:54
grow up in a world where they're getting lots of mixed
1:56
signals. And every return, we
1:58
have to make decisions.
1:59
come to convictions, the question is, does the Word
2:02
of God give us wisdom?
2:03
Does our relationship with God enable us to
2:05
walk through this world in a practical
2:08
way? And of course, the answer is yes, it
2:10
does. So we need to lean
2:12
into this
2:13
and through the Word of God and through our relationship
2:16
with the Lord, say, Lord, give us wisdom and show
2:18
us how to shine as lights in the midst
2:20
of a dark and lost world.
2:22
And I think that is so important. You know, as people
2:24
are looking around today, there is
2:27
a lot of hopelessness. I know a lot of
2:29
people feel hopelessness. And one of the things I
2:31
saw on your site, AskDrBrown.org,
2:33
is you talk about hope. Is
2:36
there a reason for hope today?
2:38
Yeah, I mean, I
2:41
live 24-7 in a state of encouragement
2:43
and hope and optimism and
2:45
expectation. And it's not empty.
2:48
In other words, I think I'm wired by
2:50
God to be optimistic and positive.
2:53
But that can just be an illusion.
2:55
That could just be the way I feel. My
2:57
ultimate hope, my ultimate confidence
3:01
is grounded in the fact that Jesus rose from the
3:03
dead.
3:04
That's all I need to know. If I'm
3:06
in right relationship with God through Jesus,
3:08
that is the key thing I need to know. That
3:11
means that death has been conquered. That means
3:13
that light will shine out of darkness. That
3:15
means that the most horrific, terrible
3:17
things that happen in this world can be turned
3:20
by God for good. The stumbling
3:22
blocks can become stepping stones and the obstacles
3:25
can become opportunities. And
3:27
I'm absolutely convinced that God
3:29
is at work in the world and
3:32
that the end of this age will not be the defeat
3:34
of God and the hopelessness of God and the
3:36
despair of God. And even though God
3:38
certainly feels our pain and
3:40
is sensitive to our suffering, the
3:43
reality is He's not in despair. He's
3:45
not discouraged. In His presence is
3:48
fullness of joy. The joy of the
3:50
Lord is our strength. And
3:52
in that is a confidence. We have answers.
3:55
Whatever the problem, whatever the situation,
3:57
even death, bereavement, agony.
3:59
And in the end, we have
4:02
a hope through the gospel. And
4:04
I've often said, the best is yet
4:07
to come. And a friend said to me, come on,
4:09
you're wearing that out. You say it all the time. I
4:11
said, well, unless you're going to hell, it's true. The
4:13
best is yet to come. Man, that's
4:15
a good point.
4:16
This fuels the fire of my own
4:18
life to then live it out day
4:21
by day in this world in a practical
4:23
hands-on way.
4:25
Man, I love that. And it's
4:27
important. Because if everybody
4:29
waits for the storm outside
4:31
of the boat to calm down until
4:33
you have peace,
4:35
it may never happen. The
4:37
world can be chaotic
4:40
or
4:41
going crazy. But we don't
4:43
have to. It's got to start from the inside
4:45
out. Everything about our faith begins,
4:48
in my heart working outwardly.
4:52
But at first, that heart transformation, creating
4:54
fruit on the outside. And with the world being
4:57
crazy, I think a lot of people let that determine
4:59
their inner world
5:00
of what's happening. Like, well,
5:03
if this happens in the next election or it's tied
5:05
to the economy getting fixed, or if
5:07
those things then I'll
5:09
have peace. And our peace does not
5:12
have to be contingent upon the world around
5:14
us. Great point. Yeah, our joy
5:16
is not based on circumstances. Our peace
5:19
is not based on circumstances. Those things are
5:21
based on our relationship with God
5:23
and His truth. And again, it's
5:25
not sticking our head in the sand.
5:27
It's saying that we are taking hold of the higher
5:30
reality. You know, it's just
5:32
like if someone that you knew to be very
5:34
faithful, a wealthy supporter
5:37
of your ministry, said, hey, I just
5:39
wired funds into your account. You'll have it
5:41
there in a few minutes. The fact that your account
5:44
has no money in it right now and you can't pay
5:46
your bills is no concern because
5:48
you know that any minute those
5:50
funds are there. So it's not denial.
5:53
It's just taking hold of the highest reality
5:56
and the highest authority. And that's
5:58
what we do with the Lord.
5:59
You're famous for answering tough questions.
6:02
I got one I kind of want to throw at you. You know, we
6:04
started this podcast two years ago, and you sort of begin
6:07
this thing of like, well, this is the bad guy, and this is
6:09
a good guy. And this is, you know, and then you're like,
6:11
oh, man, but this guy's in charge
6:14
of that bad guy. And you kind of create
6:16
an organizational chart, you know, in your head.
6:18
And you kind
6:20
of keep tracing that. And eventually, it just kind of comes
6:22
down to good and evil. You know, not
6:25
necessarily the faces or the
6:27
persona. And it's not even so much even Democrat,
6:29
Republican, left, right.
6:32
It's kind of more up and down. It's like, you know,
6:34
are you like for life, or are you for death?
6:37
You know, are you like for good or for evil? And
6:41
the language that comes at
6:43
people and attacks, I
6:45
think, confuses them. There's a term
6:47
that has come along recently. There was an article
6:50
in Rolling Stones recently after we did an event with
6:52
pastors for Trump. We spoke at
6:55
kind of a hit piece. But they labeled
6:58
us as
6:59
Christian nationalists. And they meant
7:01
it to be a really, really painful
7:03
dig. And, you know, I was like,
7:05
well, we're not globalist atheists.
7:08
So I mean, that kind of makes sense. What
7:10
do you think of that term that we see kind of rising up to
7:13
want to kind of
7:14
put people into a corner, and
7:18
the positioning of where that fits on that grid?
7:21
So the first thing to ask someone that uses
7:23
it is, what do you mean by the term?
7:25
Because it can have different meanings to different people.
7:28
For some, a Christian nationalist means I'm
7:30
a Christian and I love my country. That's
7:32
good. That's fine. I love Jesus and
7:35
I love my country. Great. Good for you. For
7:38
others, it means that you
7:40
are conflating the kingdom
7:42
of God with the nation, that you are wrapping
7:45
the gospel and the American flag,
7:47
that you are equating USA, USA with
7:51
the Great Commission.
7:52
Whereas America is a fallen nation, like
7:55
every other nation, we have a lot of good, we
7:57
have a lot of bad. I'm
7:59
more focused.
7:59
focused on bad because
8:02
of the calling in need, the callers to repent
8:04
and turn to the Lord. There's certainly a lot of good,
8:07
but we're a fallen nation in the midst of
8:09
which, like in the midst of China or ancient
8:12
Rome or all the nations of the world, in the midst
8:14
of which is a church, is a people of
8:16
God, the Ekklesia, and we are
8:18
seeking to live out kingdom principles and make a
8:20
difference for God here in America.
8:23
So we want what's best for
8:25
America,
8:26
but we understand that America could come and go in
8:28
the kingdom of God advances, that
8:31
we are patriotic in that we serve
8:34
our country, but
8:35
we also recognize that America has
8:37
done a lot of bad around the world. We've exported
8:39
pornography around the world in massive
8:41
levels. We've exported aspects
8:44
of narcissism and other things that
8:46
are destructive. We are pushing gay activism,
8:48
OG BTQ plus activism around
8:51
the world
8:52
and pressuring governments and things. So
8:55
America is a lost nation like
8:57
other nations, leading the
8:59
gospel, even though we have some great Christian foundations mixed
9:02
in along the way. So we
9:05
just understand that. So when we look
9:07
at Donald Trump, many
9:09
of us felt he was a better candidate than Hillary Clinton
9:11
and Joe Biden on issues that were critically
9:13
important to us, but he's not the savior. He's
9:16
another man with another party, which
9:18
itself is mixed with good
9:20
and with bad. So we don't mix
9:23
the two. When people say only Trump
9:25
can save America, that's bad talk.
9:28
You don't put any politician's
9:30
name there. There's only one name that belongs there. That's
9:32
the name of Jesus. When we equate
9:34
the Republican party as God's
9:36
party, the Democrat party is God's
9:39
party. We're making a mistake
9:41
there
9:42
by mingling these things together.
9:44
And when you'll have say Christian
9:47
flag and American flag at
9:49
a rally side by side as if they
9:51
are somehow equal,
9:53
that's when we make the mistake. So
9:55
I personally don't like the term Christian nationalist.
9:58
I think it's a good term to use.
9:59
I know some of my friends use it in a very positive
10:02
way, but to me, it's more associated
10:05
with this idea
10:06
that America has a particularly divine destiny
10:09
and that the American destiny is equal
10:12
to the kingdom of God.
10:13
And that's a wrong way
10:16
of looking at things. I find it very unhealthy. In my book,
10:18
the political seduction of the church
10:20
really lays this out. So we, above
10:23
all citizens, should be making a positive
10:25
impact on the country because we know
10:27
the Lord and we know His ways. And
10:30
we should be the foremost ones praying
10:32
for the good of our country,
10:34
but also knowing that America is of
10:36
the world. And there's always going to be a conflict
10:39
between the kingdom of God and the kingdom
10:41
of this world. I remember the initial sanctions
10:43
we put on Russia. We looked at that list and it's like it's
10:45
like they're sanctions like they cut out McDonald's.
10:47
It was like Netflix. It was Pornhub. It was these
10:50
things. I'm like,
10:50
I think they did a great thing for Russia. I'm like,
10:52
can they put those sanctions on us? Yeah, you
10:54
know, as well, like a lot of our our import
10:56
is pretty much debt and sin, you know, that
10:59
we're exporting to the world.
11:00
So, you know, our slogan here at Fly Over Conservatives
11:02
is wake up, speak up and show up. So in
11:04
what you just said, as Christians, what are ways
11:06
that we can speak up and show up during this time?
11:10
Right. So we speak up always
11:12
first and foremost by by bringing the gospel
11:14
message to all we can, recognizing our greatest
11:17
weapons, our prayer, evangelism, discipleship.
11:19
But then we speak up for what's right.
11:22
Parents are realizing that now when they found
11:24
out what's been taught in their schools for a couple of decades,
11:26
they found out during the corona times like,
11:28
whoa, we didn't know this was going on.
11:30
So you get to the school boards and if the school
11:33
boards are corrupt and have a very
11:35
anti-child agenda, then you run
11:38
for school board yourself. You say, OK,
11:40
let's make a difference here.
11:41
You speak up on social media where
11:44
you see misunderstanding, where you see the Lord's
11:46
name being blasphemed, you see wrong
11:48
principles being put forward. Hey, you have every right
11:50
to share your wrong views. We have every right
11:52
to share our right views. If
11:55
if if more and more believers
11:57
would simply live out their convictions, you
11:59
can.
11:59
cancel us because there'd
12:02
be way too many. For example, with
12:04
the Los Angeles Dodgers, we're going to celebrate
12:06
the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,
12:08
this anti-Christian drag queen hate group.
12:11
They were going to celebrate them. Catholics
12:14
spoke up against it. They said, okay, we won't. Gay
12:16
activists said, well, then we're going to boycott your
12:18
Pride event. So they apologized to the sisters.
12:21
They did the event. Doug Kershaw,
12:23
a few other well-known athletes,
12:26
baseball players spoke out. Well,
12:28
what if all the baseball
12:30
players that had an issue with this and all the managers
12:32
that had an issue with this, what if they all
12:35
spoke out? The thing would go away
12:38
overnight
12:39
and you wouldn't have to be so bold to take
12:41
a stand. So it's
12:43
not a matter of us intimidating people.
12:45
It's just a matter of us saying, hey, we're here.
12:48
We hold to these values. We believe these
12:50
are best for society. We're not imposing
12:53
these on anybody, but this is how we live
12:55
our lives and we're going to stand for what we believe
12:57
is right, just like every other group does.
13:00
If we would do these very things, America
13:03
would look very different in a matter of days.
13:06
That is huge. Something we always say here
13:08
at Flyover Conservatives is we all wanted President
13:11
Trump to do 80 million things to save our country. What
13:13
we really need is 80 million of us doing one thing
13:15
every single day to save our own country.
13:18
And like you said before, President
13:21
Trump, he was our president, but Jesus
13:23
is our savior. We can never look to man
13:25
as our savior for sure. So tell
13:27
us a little bit about AskDrBrown.org
13:31
and a little bit about your new book as well.
13:33
Right. So AskDrBrown.org,
13:36
you'll find resources on our three R's.
13:39
First revival in the church. We
13:41
burn to see that day and night.
13:43
And then a gospel-based moral and cultural
13:45
revolution.
13:46
And then redemption in Israel, seeing the Jewish
13:49
people saved. I myself am a Jewish believer in
13:51
Jesus, saved in 1971. I
13:53
believe we have more than 3000 articles and more
13:55
than 3000 videos.
13:59
more than 3000 podcasts as
14:02
well. All available there.
14:04
You just search for subjects that you're interested
14:07
in. I encourage everybody sign
14:09
up for our emails so that we can keep
14:11
you up posted on here, the latest articles, your
14:13
latest videos, because I'm only right five new articles
14:16
a week. We've got five radio broadcasts a
14:18
week. So ask a DR brown.org
14:20
sign up for the emails. And
14:22
then the newest book, Why So Many Christians
14:24
Have Left the Faith,
14:26
deals head on with a very real problem.
14:29
Pastors, leaders, seminary professors,
14:32
worship songwriters,
14:34
departing from the faith, what's going on?
14:36
There's not a book to a condemn or attack,
14:39
but to try to understand the different factors
14:41
involved with people leaving the faith
14:44
and to address them practically
14:47
and to give you the resources, whether you are struggling
14:49
or questioning yourself
14:51
or whether you love someone that is struggling or
14:53
questioning, we put all the resources, the
14:55
answers in the book. So it's one
14:57
to really make us understand what's happening
14:59
and give us listeners to how to address it.
15:02
I love it. Man, I probably got about 12 more questions
15:04
for you than I did when we started the
15:06
show. We'd love to have you back on again,
15:09
because, because these are, these are real issues
15:11
that people are facing today. And
15:14
again, I kind of started with this, but you've, you've
15:16
thought deeply on these issues in
15:18
private and you bring incredible answers to public
15:21
daily on your radio show with your writing,
15:23
with your books. I just, I think you're an incredible
15:26
gift to our culture at this time.
15:28
Well, it's, it's a joy. Thanks for what you're doing
15:31
and be glad to join you in the future again. That
15:34
would be great. Thank you so much. Hello,
15:36
flyover family. Join me every
15:38
Wednesday for the prophetic report at 11 11 central. You
15:41
can find it on rumble. You can find it on the
15:43
flyover app. We have such an incredible
15:46
time of hearing from all of these different prophetic
15:48
voices like Robin Bullock, Julie
15:50
Green, Barry Wunch, Amanda
15:53
Grace, and Hank Kooneman. Every
15:55
week it's either five or six different prophets
15:57
that are speaking. And what's interesting is God
15:59
is.
15:59
speaking through them and all of these voices
16:02
come together like puzzle pieces. It is so
16:04
exciting to hear what the Lord is saying.
16:07
We're hearing from medical. We're hearing from
16:10
military intelligence. We're hearing from
16:12
the financial world. We're hearing from mainstream
16:14
media. But the most important is, what
16:16
is God saying?
16:20
He has not fallen off the throne.
16:21
He's not nervous. He's not chewing
16:23
his nails. He is in control. He
16:25
has plans to prosper us and not to
16:28
harm us. What a great time to be alive
16:30
and I'm so excited for you to join me every Wednesday
16:32
at 11 11.
16:38
We hold these truths to be self-evident. All
16:41
men and women created by the goal. You
16:43
know this. You know the thing. We will shut
16:45
you down. We will cite you.
16:48
And if we need to, we will arrest you
16:50
and we will take you to jail.
16:53
Period. I wasn't thinking of the Bill of Rights
16:55
when we did this. No amendment, no
16:57
amendment to the Constitution is absolute. God
17:01
actually spoke to me. He spoke about
17:04
sacredness.
17:05
He said to me, Kim, what I've placed in
17:07
many, many people is sacred. And
17:10
if anybody touches what is sacred
17:12
to me, then it is the end
17:15
for them. So what I've done
17:18
in the United States of America
17:20
is sacred. And
17:22
there are people on every side that are trying
17:25
to destroy what I am being
17:27
sacred. And it's not
17:29
going to happen. This is the
17:32
definition of criminal conspiracy,
17:35
racketeering
17:35
and collusion. This is not
17:37
a theory. This is evidence.
17:43
Because I have
17:45
a pelvis country to
17:48
spread the light to the
17:50
list of the
17:52
world.
17:59
This is so good
18:02
to God. This
18:08
reawakened tour is literally what
18:10
it means. It has reawakened the American
18:13
heart. USA! USA! USA! USA! All
18:23
right, folks. The box fan plan
18:26
is no longer needed. We're bringing
18:28
the reawakened America tour Las Vegas, Nevada
18:31
indoors, baby. We've got
18:33
a climate controlled beautiful vicinity
18:36
that we are building at the beautiful
18:38
Craig Ranch, which is seven miles north of
18:40
the Trump International Hotel. So if you're
18:42
there and you want it to go well and you don't like
18:45
the box fan plan, I get it. We
18:47
now have a climate controlled indoor
18:49
facility that will be constructed
18:52
and built there at the Craig
18:53
Ranch, seven miles north of Trump
18:55
International Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada. So stay
18:57
at the Trump International Las Vegas,
18:59
Nevada, and then you'll be staying in a climate
19:02
controlled, climate controlled facility
19:05
located there at Craig
19:07
Ranch. And one good thing you can do, though,
19:09
if you did buy a box fan, a
19:12
great vocal exercise that I like to do before every
19:14
show is this. Look,
19:19
look, I am
19:21
your father.
