When the pandemic lockdowns ended, the number of students returning to school never fully recovered. With the number of kids refusing to go to school rising, the reasons behind the trend aren’t completely understood.

Called “school refusal”, the problem disrupts young people’s education, upends family life and often leaves parents feeling defeated.
