Why are you yelling at me man What Wait

1:51

where's the violence from You woke up in shows

1:53

violence Okay now genuinely

1:55

I don't care about anyone else's minds but I want

1:57

you to be like BORA I

2:00

mean every month saying is I

2:02

have nothing to use of thought

2:04

into the other phrases with. A

2:07

bus stop signs that I might convince

2:09

me I'm where we gotta go There

2:11

was good. Ah plus we we talked

2:13

about one and position to go see.

2:15

This one is ah stuff on Sunday.

2:18

Oh you guys have two seven. Oh

2:21

maybe we haven't or maybe we have to

2:23

do a Maverick go back to well as

2:25

a little bit different I was reduced sentence

2:27

physically. I'm a a very pressing news story

2:29

that has been boarded through to me on

2:31

medium size and something I think we should

2:33

all know about Sloth and city trying three

2:35

stories that they did up at one we

2:37

all want to discuss love there any. Don't

2:39

Ali do the on from his disguise The

2:41

missing Today we have an amazing share with

2:43

three amazing X's and be screens Beulah, Dom

2:45

and Neil. They

2:48

don't Athena showed who love you just and

2:51

basically however you think the to show is

2:53

the going against the grain. It's amazing how

2:55

my for. Us.

3:01

Corrected as the student. And

3:04

I'm is. What

3:08

The Bible? Person

3:15

and. me

3:21

to say I'm

4:31

really good guys, I've

4:34

registered for what's called a Thornton's auction

4:36

account. Now

4:55

you guys know I love a deal. I love a good

4:57

deal. Any way I can save money, that's what I'm about.

4:59

I do it all the time when I go to Costco,

5:01

you know, I package my meat differently. I

5:06

feel like Trade Me's the learner's, the

5:09

learner account when it comes to auctions,

5:13

online auction. And I feel

5:15

like when you, you know, I was on Trade Me for a

5:17

long time last night, I was looking for a car, still looking

5:19

for a car, just to run around, just something that I can

5:21

spend cheap money on. And then I thought to

5:23

myself, you know what, I'm past Trade Me. Someone found your

5:25

car, they offered it on the pace, did you not see?

5:27

I didn't see, no. Someone's offered to

5:29

buy these, it's got to retro everything. Oh, okay. Well

5:31

then maybe I don't need to do this. Anyway, for

5:33

the sake of the story though, Thornton's

5:35

auction house is like, it's kind of like, they

5:38

do like police auctions and stuff like

5:40

that for vehicles, stolen watches. Like

5:42

this is where I've gone and I've taken my

5:45

inner need to get a deal to another level.

5:47

Learners is definitely Trade Me, marketplace,

5:49

perhaps. But this, this, boys,

5:52

you have to register, you get a number. Like

5:55

a little online panel that you hold up the number to

5:57

say, yeah, I'm keen to buy that. though

6:00

the only thing that they're selling is like the

6:02

scholastics like overflow of books and stuff so that

6:04

was boring I'm not gonna I'm not gonna bid

6:06

on anything there but I'm looking forward to there's

6:09

a there's a couple of auctions I've got coming

6:11

up one is like someone's selling their entire house

6:14

what not the house itself but everything

6:16

in the house they're moving to Australia is what

6:18

the description is there's cars there's couches there's tables

6:20

they're not taking any of the gear with them

6:22

but this is the thing though like you that's

6:25

what I'm so excited about I need nothing I don't

6:27

need anything right but I want to go to that

6:29

auction just to see if there might be something that

6:31

I could just pick up for a deal they might

6:33

have like a seagull yeah I I'm

6:35

with you it's just it's like I'm so excited

6:38

now that I'm registered that I can actually I

6:40

don't know bid on something I don't need don't

6:42

take what do you do leave the motorbike take

6:44

everything else leave the motorbike are

6:46

you ready yeah you know are you talking about

6:49

the confiscated motorbike yeah leave those on the bike

6:51

don't ride those around town okay I'm gonna Jordan

6:53

we could come

6:55

along with oh yeah I'm excited um

6:58

boys this is this is amazing I just wanted this is

7:00

a quick chicken how long can you guys plank for let's

7:02

start with that like let's just say actually

7:05

not even right now the next time you would have ever

7:07

plank for what do you reckon it is honestly like on

7:09

the line as a test I could get to three minutes

7:11

but what I think is incredible but normally

7:13

I'm just like minute I'm like you know what I

7:16

mean like life on the line you're gonna lie from

7:18

the line three mark and your prime

7:20

what you're looking at 45 seconds yeah so

7:22

I'm terrible at playing so I'm looking at

7:24

a minute we're long body got abs where

7:26

long bodies visit the 50 year old grandma

7:28

in America has just broken the world record

7:31

four hours mom first 30 minutes

7:34

and 11 not a man

7:36

a loo kid not impressed how

7:38

are you not impressed that's the

7:40

most impressive thing I've ever heard of my life short

7:45

limbs short limbs like don't don't get

7:47

it twisted like for taller people it's

7:49

harder it's a lot harder to keep

7:51

your like it's harder to live wait

7:53

that's crazy because the full cremated different

7:55

like he said short limbs the four-hour

7:58

grandmama short limbs easier to lift Everything's

8:00

hard at all though. Although if you're not above six foot

8:02

you can't enter this conversation and we all are. Like there's

8:04

a whole warrior game. There's a whole

8:06

warrior game. She just held it there. That's

8:09

a whole, that's a whole golf game bro. That is

8:11

incredible to me. I heard that. I said wow. Gonna

8:13

score a record four hours 30 minutes.

8:15

What do you think she's mad about? Nah dude. They're

8:19

disgusting. Let's give it to Daily Bread. That's

8:24

right guys. Daily Bread. Breaking Bread. With

8:26

the news of today. And today is

8:28

April 17th. That's 108 days deep into

8:30

the air. 258 left to get her.

8:33

Get her. It

8:35

is World Circus Day today. Where

8:37

we celebrate circus artists. The craftsmanship

8:39

behind it. Creators, the performers, the

8:42

big tent. This is the great

8:44

new show. Are we

8:46

circus fans? I mean.

8:48

I've decided I don't know about circuses anymore. Like

8:51

I haven't been to a circus that hasn't given

8:53

me a vibe of like something

8:55

sinister and evil is

8:57

happening out the back. Not a fan of the Curdivar?

9:00

Come nutty corner. Sick of all these great though.

9:02

Yeah that's okay. That's a circus. Yeah

9:05

I think what circuses were no

9:07

longer bringing the animals around. Do you know

9:09

how they used to train animals? I mean. You

9:11

drew the line? Yes we are. I

9:14

don't want to go back there but I'm just saying like you

9:16

know when the beer stopped juggling on the cycle like. Anyway. It's

9:19

also, it's Melbic World Day. Melbic?

9:22

The wine? Yeah. Oh brook. Tell

9:25

us all about it. Well I know I'm not really

9:27

with the Melbics just yet but I would love to

9:29

know a little bit more at the end of the

9:31

year. Come back and ask me because that's my mask.

9:33

Apparently Argentina's wine of heritage. It's

9:37

the Melbic is like you know

9:39

the champion Melbics will come from Argentina. That's

9:41

the creme de la creme of reds. And

9:44

finally International Bat Appreciation Day. Wow not at the

9:46

moment. I love them so much. That's a scary

9:48

day. They put up through the wringer. Is

9:51

it just me or is it terrifying? They are. Bro I

9:53

lived in Ken's once and a bat came into my house.

9:56

Happy International Bat Appreciation

9:58

Day. You

10:01

get a new one out Omaha.

10:04

Guess it wasn't as a ransom

10:06

brother. Good seen months for cycling

10:08

as statues. Ah,

10:13

Wrist. Like choking me on the

10:15

camera. So like. To second a video

10:17

of herself and she was like pertaining to. Sickle.

10:19

The statute with up with you could have

10:22

some serious doesn't like as weapons and the

10:24

blogger like russian I'm playing. you know foods

10:26

and don't play by air. you so respected

10:29

in any in follow the rules or on

10:31

she got ten months in jail. So

10:34

they caught the video as see them be done

10:36

this like know now that louise. Month

10:39

ago or you know I'm an arrest.

10:41

you live another reference or have those

10:43

muscles. I was in high school Vladivostok

10:45

know if none of us a lot

10:47

about run. And

10:50

our. Eyes with or had

10:52

a voice like disagree down at Eleven A

10:55

liver A live in Santa A mom know

10:57

play with you our I live in I

10:59

live in and nine eleven and I the

11:01

someone all limit man ten promising and there

11:03

was a place that one thing army the

11:05

was possible job which means you're beautiful and

11:07

in a also to play some joker you

11:10

admit everywhere in Africa and Mcafee okay what

11:12

other with karaoke and I went in there

11:14

there was a place we go Laden I

11:16

adjusted paypal experiences. That.

11:22

Are your fire? You are you excited? I. Won't

11:25

admit audible got his duff be but it's what

11:27

I remember that of what I had a good

11:29

time I was falling. As

11:31

a lot going on there another lot of

11:33

fun experience. that was when experience as little

11:35

as hey mind say I want to congratulate

11:37

someone who's pulling never listened to the spices

11:40

moving. The needles is absolutely incredible. Cayman flagged

11:42

as we number one of the W M

11:44

B I dropped now see so good. the

11:46

something that I probably in the past una

11:48

flux about but the way this is changing

11:50

the game movie Manson. The.

11:52

money that is unbecoming to these moments see

11:54

so good that he went to the indian

11:56

a fever and scenes at changing the a

11:59

home stadium so they play here to bigger

12:01

stadiums so they can make money so they

12:03

can put more people into it like we

12:05

played in Vegas Vegas normally holds 12,000 they're

12:07

moving to a 20,000 seed stadium what does

12:09

WNBA blocked that big three deal you know

12:11

how she's only supposed to be on four

12:13

like without endorsements and sponsorship she's only getting

12:15

pay 86,000 her first rookie year but big

12:17

three are offering her five million for like

12:19

three games well the thing about women's basketball

12:21

is actually bigger in Europe so they make

12:23

more money in Europe but because you think

12:25

NBA it's in people's

12:27

minds is the biggest female she

12:30

should be the catalyst to change things without a doubt

12:32

you know what I mean like if the other teams

12:34

have done the book bigger stadiums you'd imagine that's a

12:36

change for the good well everything's moving like Serena Williams

12:38

is trying to buy the team yeah people are trying

12:40

to invest into it gotta start somewhere down there all

12:42

of her games are sold out already in the starts

12:44

with this so Caitlin Clark and the rest of the

12:47

girls they have been drafted in this year's draft are

12:49

incredible but she draft classes is following

12:51

else she is something else so Caitlin

12:53

Clark congratulations love that that is your

12:55

Danny bread guys breaking bread with the

12:57

news of today it's

13:01

the morning shift the

13:08

morning shift we believe in going to Mahi that

13:11

could be described whoever you want you want to put in the work

13:13

you want to do the dishes get

13:15

to work that's a life

13:18

worth living on your

13:20

terms you know it's not saying yes to life your

13:24

boss I said that kind of wrong anyway I've set that up and we're

13:26

not going

13:30

back let's talk

13:32

work because

13:34

someone on our Facebook group shift this page said

13:37

we've heard about X with women and men

13:39

but what are your work just quickly going

13:41

around the room what are our work it's

13:45

hard because yeah I mean oh

13:49

no bro bro klesis coffee cups on our table but

13:53

there's so rich there

13:55

so rich I got money so

13:58

the other day he leaves his coffee cup on my

14:01

table I see and I'm

14:03

like I know what he's trying to do

14:05

clearly he's trying to shake me

14:07

off my game before the show

14:09

you know what I mean? Mark

14:11

CoDening I'm listening and therapy I

14:14

learned that no

14:16

one can make me feel anything I choose to feel

14:18

that way so I know what he's doing now I

14:20

see he's trying to rock me I

14:22

said what are you doing putting you putting a cup

14:25

on my desk he said what's it he his words

14:27

Mark what's it to you it's not bothering you hold

14:29

on tone was very different no no wasn't what's it

14:31

to you? what's it to

14:33

you? exactly what's it to you? what's

14:35

it to you? violent

14:38

right Mark violent I don't want to get in the

14:40

middle of this and his thinking

14:43

behind it and his justifying was I'll

14:45

see it on the way out to take it to

14:47

the kitchen on your desk I won't see it on

14:49

my desk mmm a kick well the desk your desk

14:51

is closer to the door so I can see the

14:53

magic behind it but I'm not saying it to you

14:55

Mark I'm on the way it's on the way you

14:57

I could have given you go to hell work

15:00

it out I meetings that

15:03

could be an email those

15:05

those get me and we don't even

15:07

really have too many of those but always meetings that could

15:09

be an email and people who cook fish in the microwave

15:12

thank you roe don't

15:15

get in the sea leave leaves

15:17

that at home tangaroa there's things you

15:19

can you're not supposed to be on

15:21

land yeah thinking out the

15:23

rest of the room for like honestly even

15:25

this how shameful is like fish breath around

15:27

office already bad even that like they

15:30

have to sit with it for the man

15:32

they didn't bring a toothbrush right right it's

15:34

very true well this person said a customer

15:36

service absolute ick for me is when girlies

15:38

pull money out of their bra like

15:40

how you like how you comfortable

15:43

digging around your biddies like

15:45

that in that goddamn public this

15:47

girl I related to that is when

15:49

the money is warm she was listed also ladies

15:51

I understand that

15:55

pockets are non-existent for a lot of us when

15:57

it comes to our cock-a-boo like pants

15:59

out wear but it doesn't

16:01

mean you can't get away with a bag of

16:03

wallet. How

16:05

do we feel about a coin being pulled

16:07

out of a bra? Let's get into it.

16:10

One thing. True. Yeah, warm coin. I

16:12

don't really deal with that wrap in the service.

16:16

We're struggling to get money in here, let

16:18

alone warmth. Here's

16:20

a little fact though. Do you know why a

16:22

lot of women don't have pockets on their jeans

16:24

or their pants? They don't make them with pockets

16:27

on them. A lot of them. No,

16:29

I don't. Well, here's

16:32

the mind-blowing fact, Brooke. It's

16:34

to encourage women to buy handbags.

16:40

Get out! My

16:43

name's Jordan. I'm him. Wow!

16:47

You ladies are getting paid! The

16:49

ecosystem, they're all working together. Like,

16:53

you know so many women's jeans have

16:55

sewed on pockets that don't work? They

16:57

look like pockets, but they don't have a pocket. They're

17:01

sewed across. It's

17:03

to encourage females to buy handbags. Where

17:06

do you put your handkerchiefs? Oh,

17:08

that's it, Mark. Probably down there, bruh. Right

17:10

next to the note. You're the only

17:12

one in New Zealand who still has a handkerchief in your

17:14

pocket every day in 2024. And I

17:16

promise you, the handkerchiefs are listening. Actually, that's my

17:19

workbook. There's like snot

17:21

in your pocket right now. That's

17:24

the same one as yesterday, Mark. I've got the same colours. I

17:27

guarantee you are the only person listening right now that

17:29

thought that as well. Where's

17:32

the handkerchiefs going to go? That

17:34

was good though, Jordan. Yeah, that was

17:36

actually good. We won't get

17:38

into the beauty industry because that would just be... That's

17:41

not our place. That's not our place. That's not where we want to be. Cheyenne

17:44

says, Working for me is watching

17:46

the most useless, consistently awful at their job, not

17:48

get made redundant. But someone who is bright and

17:50

eager to work, who I am training up, I

17:52

let go. Ask the damn

17:54

manager of the apartment. What's

17:57

going on? Sounds like a

17:59

year's build up. That's true,

18:02

that's true. Someone also said one time

18:04

they saw a man pull it out of Zandi's. That's

18:06

not good. That's not good. A

18:10

lot of people say I'm agreeing with you, Brooke, like

18:12

the work emails for meetings, like just send me an

18:14

email. Send me an email? Do you

18:16

know how meetings about meetings? Those

18:18

are, oh, grinds my gears. That

18:21

is workicks. I really just came here

18:23

to bring that handbag mind-blowing fact, but... It was actually

18:25

pretty good. I might have said it wrong, sir, if

18:28

I got that wrong. I don't think

18:30

I did this. I'm pretty sure

18:32

that's the case. The ecosystem of it all working

18:34

together. Don't buy a handbag, ladies. Demand

18:37

pockets. This

18:40

is the morning shift. Shift

18:46

his mark on him, I hear. He said... I'm

18:48

making loud! Well, he didn't say

18:50

that. That's elastic, actually. He

18:53

said... Last week we went at a star

18:55

sign, we went at Aries. If you missed it, there's a

18:57

club over in America that won't allow Aries into the club.

19:00

I mean, when you stacked up the evidence, Aries...

19:02

Who says, or break it down just because? You

19:04

know what I'm saying? If anyone owns a mirror...

19:08

Just saying. It made sense to me why I wouldn't

19:10

be in that club. This

19:12

week we're going with... The

19:15

most unlovable star sign. I know, man. Why

19:18

would you do that? The one that

19:20

we shouldn't be dating. Actually, let's go

19:22

the other side first. Let's go with the most lovable. Okay. So

19:25

we guess we'll warm into it. Yeah, yeah. I'll

19:28

give you the top one. And I did some research on this.

19:30

Obviously, there's a few different articles that will come out. How did

19:32

you research it, bro? I read about four or five and then

19:34

I went on TikTok. So I went with the medium of them

19:36

all and the one that came through the most. So let's go

19:38

with number one. What you think

19:40

is the most lovable and dateable star

19:42

sign? Pisces. I'm

19:45

not even going to play this game. No, Jordan's right. I'm not

19:47

even going to play the game. It's Pisces.

19:49

Do you know why? I know. It's

19:52

the 12th Sun sign. I have no idea

19:54

what that means, but it sounds good. Mmm. It's

19:57

known to be the most romantic. Emotional

20:00

in the group and it said that a

20:02

person who falls for a Pisces gets the

20:04

best companion for life Wow empathy to a

20:06

lot of empathy that's hard to compete with

20:09

Whoo, so if you're a Pisces or like they're

20:11

gonna hold you're an old man

20:13

to healing You know what I mean? Then I'm gonna

20:15

pack you in They are gonna hold

20:18

it down Listen to him.

20:20

He knows what about what are we

20:22

doing today though doing the worst? The

20:24

most unlovable it's a old star-star man can

20:26

can pick it here. Well, let's go

20:28

through First of all, do you guys know

20:31

the the star signs of your partner? Obviously, I

20:33

don't have one so I can't do it Okay, there you

20:35

go. Yeah, okay, my scorpion scorpion.

20:37

You could do it. Like you could go watch the

20:39

one you want Taking

20:44

cheese pussies pisces, please All

20:48

right guys the most unlovable I could

20:51

say an undated bull Star

20:54

signs a day actually Jordan give it a go. Well,

20:57

I'm not gonna tell you but I would assume it's

20:59

in the Scorpio Scorpio range Scorpion

21:06

Could it could be Cancer

21:10

cancer the feature but it's not cancer. It

21:12

could also be Capricorn But

21:16

the Capricorn featured really high Who

21:20

wrote it You

21:23

know, I mean Jordan I

21:25

hate to break it to you. Here we go.

21:28

The most undated bull and unlovable star

21:30

sign Is a

21:32

Sagittarius what? But

21:43

I'm just the messenger did you have a little

21:45

conversation with but did you try to set me

21:47

up no I actually don't need just idea. Mark

21:49

all I am is his messenger and I'm not

21:51

really with the star sign So I think I'm

21:54

the best person to be the missing. You know,

21:56

you don't land on me. Why? Yeah, why I'll

21:58

back you up When they come to

22:00

relationships they prefer freedom rather than commitment.

22:02

Independence. They love to jump from one

22:05

activity or person to another. That's

22:07

probably the last thing that you want. Sorry we're

22:09

independent people. He's been married for a very long

22:12

time now. Sorry we've got our own goals and

22:14

aspirations. You can come for the ride though. Hey

22:16

hey hey. You can respond after this. They love

22:18

to jump from one activity and person to another.

22:21

Is that what you want in a relationship Jordan? Hang

22:24

on let me check. No no no.

22:28

Additionally they don't like to talk

22:30

about feelings or emotions. Issues

22:32

like this they suppress. I don't

22:36

want that in my relationship. It's best

22:38

it actually finishes with it's best to look elsewhere. Okay

22:44

yes we're joking. Sorry Mark. Yes we're joking.

22:46

However to we don't care about Mark but

22:48

to the other Sagittarius people this is to

22:50

someone wrote this on the internet okay. Anything

22:52

is possible. You

22:55

gotta believe. I'm still failing to see

22:57

any fault here like if you

22:59

and that is the problem. Jordan.

23:06

They also need a lot of space in

23:08

relationships which can make them feel distant and

23:10

uninterested in times.

23:12

Do you see what I'm after? A deep

23:14

sense of dependency and freedom. However

23:17

a deep want for space. You

23:19

have no desire to get close.

23:21

Oh sorry you want suffocating love.

23:23

Is that what you want? When

23:25

you guys want to go out to I don't know have a

23:27

party with the boys you want me to be going no no

23:29

no I'm coming with you. When I hug someone I want my

23:32

partner to hug my toes too. You know what I mean? Like from

23:35

arms police I want my toes.

23:37

I don't want knee-passing everything.

23:39

I don't want no space. No

23:42

distance. Get over here. Bring

23:44

that here. Here we go. You know what

23:47

I'm saying? So Mark's warning me up. I'm

23:49

just the messenger. Sagie's out there.

23:51

Be better and

23:53

um if you're looking

23:55

for love look in another direction. You know where we'll go

23:57

next week because you'll like these more. We'll get to it.

24:00

We'll get to the numerology next week. The

24:02

star signs, they're like... Wishy-washy,

24:05

ay, like that's me, but yeah. They're basic

24:07

stuff, though they're actually the basic stuff. Men

24:10

lie, women lie, the numbers don't lie, you know? Oh,

24:12

got changed in the past. And the numbers your birthday...

24:15

What is your birthday? Like, don't say

24:17

the year, just... 25th

24:20

of... November. 25,

24:23

11. I

24:26

was at your master number. What? What are

24:28

you talking about? Sorry, I'm gonna shut up, but it's

24:30

coming next week. Hey, can I just say then, to

24:32

end this, if you are looking

24:34

for someone who's obsessed with you, who

24:37

stalks you, don't try

24:39

and find love with a Sagittarian. Because they'll give you

24:41

space, they'll allow you to be the person you want

24:43

to be, and they'll join you in the middle. Yeah,

24:45

come on. Take it home. Come on! Look

24:47

at around, look at around. Come on. If you want to

24:49

be, you know, if you want to have a good love,

24:51

where you can grow as a person, as an individual, and

24:54

then you guys can come together, you sound helpful.

24:56

Sagittarius can't do the work for you. The

24:59

work that you need to do. Yeah, we'll meet you

25:01

in the middle. We'll definitely meet you in the middle

25:03

though. This is The Morning

25:05

Chef. Good

25:08

evening and everything in between. I'm Jordan,

25:11

and I'm Paul, and this is the

25:13

news for you. So,

25:19

on most weeks, I will bring three stories,

25:21

but this week, it's... One

25:24

and Done. It's One and Done, really, yeah. A

25:26

story that has popped up quite frequently, and

25:29

one that I wanted to get you guys to take on as well. I

25:34

guess every other news story to me feels like

25:36

a bit of a distraction at the moment over

25:38

a story that's around the fast track bill, which

25:41

the government is pushing through quickly. Oh, yeah. So,

25:43

the fast track bill, I think something most

25:45

people should know about, it's

25:48

a way that we cut the red tape, the

25:50

white tape, the yellow tape, whatever it is, and

25:53

get projects that are looking to

25:56

bring money into the country Up

25:58

and running quicker without having to go through.... The

26:00

a whole lot of that I guess the whiteside going

26:02

through all the different places and people that need to

26:04

have their say on will another project will be good

26:06

for the country or with or be good for the

26:08

environment within to be good for the plate. the locals

26:11

all x on a jazz at the moment it seems

26:13

to be a fitting. The

26:15

frantic task of you while of you

26:17

just thought of as a suspicious and

26:19

against the mining or gathering things like

26:21

that. And so the current coalition are

26:23

looking to make sure that they can

26:26

be quicker. Ah, and it's approving often

26:28

seems. Click us and so on. Spicy.

26:30

What they want to do is they

26:32

want to put what's called the expert

26:34

panel together. Ah, the Minister of Infrastructure,

26:36

Chris Bishop, Regional Development manager Sam Jones

26:38

and Transport minister Some and Brown. So

26:40

ultimately what this will do is give

26:43

you one of those experts. Oh, you're.

26:45

Which one? Sanskrit.

26:47

Shane was the and I just I just

26:49

mean like and and this is what's hard

26:51

about him being a nice for the summer

26:53

stuff because you'd be hard pressed to find

26:55

someone more knowledgeable in the treated in San

26:57

Simeon as he twenty one who designed the

26:59

bone disease or solas. I just seen him

27:01

like and politics like last year and I

27:03

could be wrong. A member for it's funny

27:05

should bring up the to see what's on

27:07

your safety or with the the difference being

27:09

and as if this was was through and

27:11

the was such a thing as the panel

27:13

to give us having. The interesting thing is

27:15

is that via. The treaty know the

27:18

really isn't around to stand on and I

27:20

think that's where the concern is coming from.

27:22

Also known as a mess of concern for

27:24

those who tier for the environment because you

27:27

know all of a sudden know court approval

27:29

is needed by chance to the stand in

27:31

the way of anything. If Mr. Bush at

27:33

Mr. Jones Mr. Brown say that it's litter

27:36

happen especially the three on power yeah on

27:38

I met by learning be passed Mrs and

27:40

gonna be possible while at the moment they

27:42

just trying to pass it's looking likely that

27:45

it will pass. unless

27:47

people have they say on i'm i'm

27:49

so sorry i stay away from the

27:51

use another time as of i'm speaking

27:54

for people than listening to this that

27:56

a like me how can he possible

27:58

like this This

28:01

government has found a way of

28:03

fast tracking everything and ultimately I

28:06

think a couple of days ago they were talking about being

28:08

able to get landlords

28:11

were able to charge people now for rent bond,

28:13

sorry a pet bond right so if you were

28:16

wanting to rent off them now you know you

28:18

can put money two weeks worth of money into

28:20

a bond for your pet. So six weeks now

28:22

for your bond. Basically for that but they all

28:24

seem to be little wee side projects that are

28:26

happening while this is being fast-tracked through and people

28:29

are sort of sitting there going what what

28:31

what and what does this ultimately mean? It

28:33

means things like that have been I

28:35

guess put on hold because of legal standing

28:38

something like you would have heard

28:40

about the Australian company coming in

28:42

to try and launch offshore mining

28:45

and approaching Nantarunaki they want to try and get

28:47

a whole lot of the sand the iron sand

28:49

out and I think it's in the number

28:53

around three billion tonnes of iron

28:55

sand out of out of Tatarunaki and

28:57

sell it the Australian company wants to come in and do it

28:59

so what that would do was obviously bring jobs to

29:01

Tatarunaki what it would do is bring money into

29:03

the economy as they see it and that's what

29:06

they're aiming to do but what it doesn't take

29:08

into account is the Iwi who obviously are looking

29:10

out for the land it doesn't take in any

29:12

of the conservation or the fact that dock you

29:15

know the land that dock owns it doesn't take

29:17

any of that into account it just goes no

29:19

no no you guys have no say in this

29:22

ultimately what's happening now is these three men

29:24

decide and we we become I guess

29:27

we sit back and just let them

29:29

do what they do. You know what

29:31

I hate about politics bro? Like as

29:33

politics. Exactly bro. Like

29:35

our politicians are so competitive and the

29:38

language that they use is such a

29:40

bunch of wish-wash booths that

29:43

as public we're not actually able

29:45

to see like properly

29:47

what the goal is here you know

29:49

if you align yourself to Tangata Finua and

29:52

you align yourself to the concept of kai-tiaki

29:54

and the way that we've looked after the

29:56

land obviously this is a

29:58

huge issue you didn't come

30:01

from that type of upbringing, it's

30:03

kind of like, I'd like to

30:05

see the economy grow, obviously you're

30:07

going to be more skewed that

30:09

way. But I never

30:11

know what the actual problem is, because I absolutely

30:14

get where to look after the environment, that

30:18

is something we need to uphold. But I also see

30:22

so much of people crying out that this economy

30:25

is affecting them and they can't have jobs

30:27

and we have huge problems, and I'm not

30:29

saying this is the scenario to make these

30:31

two comparisons, but often we're

30:33

not able to see, we

30:36

do need a better economy, and obviously this might not

30:38

be the way to go about it, but I just

30:40

always feel like I'm stuck between a catch, I

30:45

never know really what is the issue, what

30:47

are the problems, I just see people fighting

30:49

on both ends of what they feel is

30:52

completely right, and as a public

30:54

it's so confusing to see, because

30:57

we don't actually read the policies, we don't actually

30:59

understand, we can read a headline and they can

31:01

be saying, this is going to happen and then

31:03

we see this side going at it and this

31:05

side going at it, but we

31:08

don't actually know if that's actually the case. So

31:10

confusing bro, that's what I'm saying. It is confusing,

31:13

but I think there is very little way of

31:15

telling exactly how badly this could go, or how

31:17

great it could go. What you do

31:19

know though, from in the past, especially when we've

31:21

had mine, that the environment does

31:25

very much get affected, and some of the

31:27

projects that are looking to take advantage of

31:29

this fast track bill, it's

31:31

mining bro, it is literally they're going to go

31:33

into pristine land, where there's birds, where there's birds,

31:36

where there's forests, they're going to go into this

31:38

pristine land, they're going to mine it, they're going

31:40

to get money for it, it's going to help

31:42

the economy, but what is that going to do,

31:44

what's the flow on effect, what's that going to

31:46

do for everybody in the region, it's

31:49

just there's so much of the unknown that no

31:51

matter what headline you read, it's always going to

31:53

be right or left. And that's my hard point,

31:55

is like, okay, let's say that isn't the answer.

31:59

Awesome. going to do that. What is

32:01

the answer? Totally. You know what

32:04

I mean? People can't, we

32:06

understand inflation now. That's

32:08

what just makes me feel suffocated by all of

32:10

these headlines and all of these, like no one

32:12

seems to have the answer. Funner, if I'm being

32:14

honest, I think you should Google fast track built

32:17

and go and read some stories on it

32:19

because this is your future. This is your

32:22

future. This is your country. Is

32:24

the cost of living worth doing what they're looking

32:26

to do here? Are they making the right choice?

32:28

Are they not? You will sit somewhere in between

32:31

those headlines and be like, okay, I feel comfortable

32:33

with this or you won't. Either way, know

32:35

about it. That's why we do it on the

32:37

show. What I don't feel comfortable about is, and

32:39

maybe I've got this kind of wrong and it's

32:41

not as black and white as it seems, but

32:44

you give these three people here complete power. You're

32:46

talking to me now. Yeah. To

32:48

control bills, put

32:50

through bills that the country may not believe

32:52

in, agree with them, but you're putting the

32:55

power in these three people

32:57

men's hands to control, I guess,

32:59

the future of what happens to New Zealand in the

33:01

next foreseeable future. And let's not forget, they want the

33:03

balance sheet to look good when it comes to the

33:05

next election going, look how much money we made though.

33:07

Yeah, but what did you do to the environment? What

33:09

did you do to that area? What are we off

33:11

to where? Yeah, those are

33:13

the... But that's what's confusing is Shane Jones is

33:15

incredibly, has an incredibly in depth

33:17

knowledge on the treaty more than anyone could

33:20

probably question him on. And so him

33:22

being a part of this deal, I just

33:26

need to know. We could get him on the show. I

33:28

know he'd love to come on the show, but like, yeah.

33:31

Ultimately he's bypassing the treaty though

33:33

by making this fast track bill.

33:35

So again, like it, I'm

33:37

stuck. Yeah. I'm stuck. More reading to

33:39

be done, more learning to be done.

33:42

But that's your news for today. Whoo.

33:47

Whoo-sah. I'm Jordan. And I'm Broke. And we

33:49

don't know anything. Just trying to get to better

33:51

Christian. And that was true news for

33:53

you. Best

33:58

of the morning, chef. I

34:00

like it good. The Moon Stone. Thanks

34:03

to Spokes, and it's ultra. Ahhhh.

34:05

Ahhh. That's a

34:07

goodie today. Time to relax. Ooh.

34:10

Into the Moon Stone. Where

34:12

everybody is welcome and it's all thanks to our

34:15

mates at Space. Helping mates?

34:17

See you better mates. See you better

34:19

mates. And on today's means then guys,

34:21

the conversation you're about to hear is

34:23

with their three of our very good

34:26

friends. They're talking about

34:28

a theatre show they're doing, but it's not to be discounted

34:30

that these guys as actors have worked

34:33

with some of the biggest actors in Hollywood. They're

34:36

some of the best actors in this country and

34:38

have won Best Actor in like TV and shows.

34:40

Like what they're doing, they're talking about a little

34:42

theatre show but they are, they

34:45

are juggernauts and we hold all very high things. Yeah, 100%.

34:47

But this chat, maybe

34:50

Mark you could give a tease before we go on. How is this chat for

34:52

you? This chat is raw,

34:55

open and honest. And I think

34:57

they're really, there's something mentioned in there

34:59

where the art is really

35:01

nailed when the conversation continues past

35:03

the theatre and I think that's

35:06

a real badge of honour for us as well

35:08

and Spates with the Means Den because like that's

35:10

what happens in this. They're talking

35:12

about in a space that we've created,

35:15

what they're creating for all the shifters and that

35:17

warms my heart. Okay, listen to it. Love you

35:19

guys. Alright, in our studio right now, you can't

35:21

see but we are on the Means Den beautiful

35:24

lush leather couches. This

35:27

is our Means Den segment thanks to Spates, helping

35:29

mates be better mates. This is

35:31

very exciting for me personally because

35:33

we've been waiting to have this chat. There

35:36

are three juggernaut giants on the

35:38

couch today. I'm going to read their

35:40

synopsis so bear

35:43

with me. This is what they've sent me. Okay, my name

35:45

is Doug. I'm

35:48

reading it word for word. We're dicks, we're

35:51

idiots, we're guys, we don't dive deep. Long

35:54

time massive company members. Dominic

35:56

Onoariki, Neil Amitu, Anahi

35:58

and Biola Koale. met

36:00

while creating and performing with Massive over 15

36:03

years ago, they have been best mates ever

36:05

since. But what happens when their

36:07

friendship fractures and they need to work out

36:09

how to put it back together? When ignoring

36:11

it stops working, Neil, Bueller and Dom have

36:14

to work it out to fix their friendship

36:16

or walk away. Full of trademark, Massive cheek

36:19

humour, gift and a whole lot of heart,

36:21

I Love You G is a gutsy

36:23

and at times uncomfortable love letter to

36:25

a brotherhood, a joyous invitation to soften

36:28

the effort. Can we give

36:30

a whole bunch of pocky pocky people a hug and

36:32

a hug? Thanks for having us. Before I chuck it

36:34

to you guys very quickly, these

36:37

guys, they're huge in their

36:39

space. They've done movies, they've done TV shows,

36:41

but they're doing a theatre show together

36:43

at the moment, they're collaborating and creating and

36:46

we're going to give them an opportunity for all

36:48

the boys here at the Morning Shift and 20 other

36:50

shifters to go to this theatre show in May. So

36:52

we're very excited. This is what we're talking about, but

36:54

welcome to the show boys. Thank you for having us.

36:56

Thank you so much. Thank you so much. I have

36:58

a lot of words. Sorry. If you

37:01

don't mind me going because for the

37:03

audience I think it's important to know a

37:05

little bit more. Can you

37:07

just give a run

37:09

down from Dom, Neil to Bueller, who you are,

37:11

what are you doing at the moment and why

37:13

are you doing this? Just a quick intro for

37:15

you guys. Yeah, sure. Yeah, I guess I'll go

37:18

first. What

37:22

am I doing at the moment? I've just been

37:24

kind of doing TV work, just TV screen work.

37:27

Just finished up doing a show called Double Park,

37:30

finished our second season, but

37:32

we've been wanting to make a show

37:35

for a while and then when

37:37

this opportunity came up, just

37:40

felt right. So I'd say doing

37:43

this amongst anything else is probably the most exciting

37:45

thing for me. One, because we get to be

37:47

on stage doing theatre, but

37:49

two, because I'm just learning about myself more, but also

37:52

learning more about my mates, my best mates. Yeah.

37:56

Kia ora, my name is Nio Ami

37:58

Tonati. Am I

38:00

doing at the moment? I took a break

38:02

from with his acting stuff and everything and.

38:05

A win away. Lived life with

38:07

the nine to five am. And.

38:11

The soft unity hear the show The

38:13

boys. As my. I.

38:15

Would say might. Not. Really my

38:17

comeback but the first time with an army

38:20

were doing something and a long time. And.

38:24

A Feel good because. I.

38:27

Feel so rusty and out of touch

38:29

being with the guys and being on

38:31

stage so. On. But.

38:34

I'm also loving the day of the is my

38:36

in a child and my creativeness and me like

38:38

him and I must have so much a and

38:41

look at to be back. But.

38:44

Yeah for now that that's what I'm doing at the

38:46

moment and assisted by state. Funds.

38:49

Come. On

38:51

Milo of a Roman era still

38:53

a quality harm or brown disposing

38:55

of what you sister said. I'm

38:57

honestly just listening tour and are

38:59

trying to have this similar mentality

39:02

like I'm I'm an actor on

39:04

I've cracked it in America and

39:06

are killing a lot of tell

39:08

myself down the basically my little

39:10

bit of hundred fish than have

39:12

to chase the best bill. I

39:14

have the ah I have to

39:16

be the salmon version of Cliff

39:19

Curtis. that's my goal was. To get

39:21

past that would be the best version of me. This.

39:24

Is coming weight or so dumb blushes

39:26

being humble he got best actor and

39:28

New Zealand there was a the largest

39:30

with sensitive be based in Arizona com

39:33

site Yeah this is as coming back

39:35

to the dojo coming back to the

39:37

place where we learnt this crossed. Am

39:40

that we now have as a job

39:42

that. Pays. Our

39:44

bills so. Given. A

39:46

chance to. to

39:50

break a host spread ourselves a little

39:52

an audience watch us do they and

39:54

i'm us challenge yourself to make it

39:56

theatrical an entertaining for an audience to

39:59

watch that Well super exciting

40:02

for us and definitely myself included I've always admired from

40:04

afar So to have you boys in studio here today

40:06

is an absolute honor for us I

40:08

think I'm I'm interested to see

40:10

if you guys have the same answer. Maybe it's a different answer maybe

40:12

I'll start with you bill at this time is You're

40:16

obviously at a point now we guys have known each other for so

40:18

long I think you guys could have done this at any point you

40:20

could have done it in the future Why do

40:22

you think now is the time that you guys want to take your teeth into it

40:24

and get this one ago? Well kind

40:27

of everything happens for a reason and there was a

40:29

point in our life that we do tell in this

40:33

Play I guess you can call it a play.

40:35

It's not really like this is our life. We're telling you our

40:37

life We

40:40

thought we were the epitome of best friends We

40:42

we were the example of what best friends should

40:44

look like we talk we have

40:46

deep conversations We do everything then

40:49

the night before Neil's wedding a crack

40:51

happened in the bowl of our greatness And

40:55

then for 18 months we refused to adjust

40:57

the crack the crack get crowd

40:59

growing and growing and growing and the

41:02

conversation we're going to have on stage is Why

41:06

are we gonna why do we even want this ball? Yeah?

41:09

Why do we want the crack bowl so I? Don't

41:12

know if I see you Christian, but yeah This

41:17

theater show is about a real

41:20

moment like this actually happened Yeah, yeah, I'm

41:22

sure a fracture happened in your brotherhood on

41:24

the night on the night before your brother

41:26

got married Yeah, so what happened? Okay? I

41:28

know we have we can't talk about it

41:30

He's because you've got to watch the show

41:32

but yeah got a tease a little bit

41:34

like yeah Yeah, you still got married and you still did lined

41:36

up and you still did the yada yada like on the day

41:39

Yeah, yeah, pretty much. It's just the

41:41

fact that It

41:44

took us almost like two years to

41:46

actually talk about it So

41:48

within those two years of not talking about what

41:51

had happened the night before I mean the wedding

41:53

day was beautiful Mmm, like yeah, it was beautiful

41:57

But all of a sudden you

41:59

know that's a long time, a lot

42:01

can happen within two years, so all of

42:03

a sudden individually you start to

42:05

fester thoughts and then when you don't address these thoughts,

42:07

when you don't get them out, they

42:09

fester into bigger things and bigger things and then

42:12

all of a sudden your perspective of your

42:14

own friendship starts to morph

42:17

into weird ways. So

42:20

what we're doing on stage is having

42:23

these conversations that we should have had. One,

42:26

the night of and two within those two

42:29

years that we hadn't spoken about it. We'll

42:35

get back to the show soon

42:37

but you guys all grew up in South Auckland and

42:41

you're almost quite an

42:43

anomaly in some aspects if

42:46

you look at the bravado

42:48

and I think we can

42:52

be seen as having strong bonds in

42:54

brotherhood but you guys

42:56

have even said you

42:59

had good communication, you

43:01

had those deep talks.

43:04

Why do you think these things can

43:07

sometimes happen and it can make or break

43:09

us? I guess if we're talking

43:11

about mental

43:13

health or if we're talking about

43:15

why we don't, what have been

43:18

some themes that you're exploring maybe

43:20

even culturally from your upbringing, are

43:22

those being explored in the show or between you guys

43:24

and what are you kind of learning through this process?

43:28

We're learning so much about our

43:31

friendship but

43:37

it's more about ourselves and

43:41

we're learning where that comes from and where that

43:43

started from. It usually

43:45

started from our childhood. We're

43:48

learning our problems that we didn't even

43:50

know we had before we started making

43:52

this theatre show and

43:56

why do I care about how

43:58

Neil sees me? I

44:00

care about how Dom sees me? Because

44:02

that's a me thing. It's not their perspective on

44:05

me. It's like, why do I care about that

44:07

information? Because it does affect

44:09

how I operate in the world, how my

44:11

best mates see me, and it makes

44:13

me want to change. So when that crack did happen, I

44:17

thought that their perspective on me changed. And

44:19

then the black doll came out a little

44:22

bit. He started to bark, and he barked

44:24

loud in the head. But then we had

44:26

to carry on. And in these two years,

44:28

even though we didn't talk about it, they're

44:30

the godparents to my kids, my twins.

44:33

We still did everything we'd done

44:35

before the crack happened. But we just

44:38

avoided the conversation that was underneath everything.

44:41

And we pretended we were still happy

44:43

families. Can I ask you, because I

44:45

know we're not... It's hard to talk

44:47

about this without you guys wanting to talk about what it

44:49

is, but let's say this

44:52

crack that happened. In that moment,

44:56

we wanted to make you feel Bula.

44:58

Yeah. Let's talk about the emotions around

45:00

it. Well, yeah. I mean, we could

45:02

literally tell you the show, but yeah.

45:04

Because even if you know the story,

45:06

we're going to use theatre to

45:08

show you a different way to tell you

45:10

the story. What happened is we got into

45:12

a big fight, and Neil said

45:16

something to me that stung

45:18

me, like stung my soul.

45:20

And it didn't sting me then. It

45:23

was like one of those poison

45:25

arrows that just tips

45:28

your heart, and then it

45:30

bleeds black for the next couple of months,

45:32

and you slowly die. And

45:35

that's what happened. That's

45:37

my personal journey. But then also with

45:39

Neil, he has his own one.

45:41

But for me, it felt

45:44

like when you drop black ink onto a

45:46

piece of paper, a wet piece of paper,

45:48

and just a tiny drop, and

45:50

then you watch the black ink just slowly

45:52

take over the page. And that's what happened

45:55

to my heart with our brotherhood over a

45:58

space of 18 months. Neil,

46:01

something different for us. Yeah, my one's

46:03

slightly a little bit different, eh? Because

46:06

I'm so

46:09

used to getting angry and

46:11

then walking away. And

46:13

that's what we're taught, right? If

46:17

you get angry, just walk away. That's the

46:19

best thing to do. And so far, it's

46:21

served me right up until that moment. And

46:24

I couldn't

46:26

just walk away at that moment, because

46:28

these guys mean too much for me to walk away.

46:33

And for me, my journey was, I don't

46:35

know what the in-between is. I

46:37

don't know where we go from. Boom,

46:40

it happens. And then you have to

46:42

walk away. But you can't, and

46:44

so you have to sit in that anger. And

46:47

you have to digest it, unpack it, and

46:51

everything that comes with it. And I'm like, wait,

46:54

so that wasn't anger. So what was that

46:56

if it wasn't anger? And

46:59

it's like sitting there, and then

47:01

I go away. And I think

47:03

to myself, like, if that

47:06

wasn't anger, what was that? Was that pressure? Was

47:08

that anxiety? And

47:10

me trying to figure out myself that if

47:13

you can't walk away, then you have to learn

47:15

to sit there, use your words, and

47:17

find out what the medium is. And

47:19

I was just trying to really learn everything

47:21

about myself again. And I'm

47:23

so good at it. I'll walk away. And

47:27

this time, yeah, this time

47:29

I couldn't. Because at that moment, that time, these

47:31

guys, they all mean too much for me to

47:34

do that. And that was the

47:36

first time I had to just sit there. And

47:40

for us being in

47:42

front row seats, that was pretty incredible

47:45

to watch. Because

47:49

you don't see the travel from zero to 100. We

47:51

just saw zero, and then snapped straight to 100.

47:55

And for someone to watch your best mate

47:57

see red, but also watch him

47:59

try to do it. harness it, just harness all

48:01

this uncontrollable anger and just simmer it down

48:03

so we could just try and communicate what

48:05

he was feeling in that moment. For

48:08

me, that was pretty remarkable. How

48:11

did you guys deal with that space?

48:13

I can only imagine. Touch

48:15

wood at the moment, I haven't gone through a situation like

48:18

that. I can only imagine if me

48:20

and this guy fested for 18 months

48:22

and how that would feel, but I don't know how I

48:24

would get through it. I don't know where

48:26

I would go to. I don't know what my backup plan would

48:28

be. I don't know who I would talk to. How did you

48:30

guys deal with a bond that you have had and you've talked

48:32

about it from day dot. You

48:35

guys have been as thick as thieves and

48:37

then to separate on one

48:40

of the biggest days or the biggest day of your life and

48:42

then you go your separate ways over the last 18

48:44

months up until the point where you sorted it out.

48:47

How have you guys dealt with that relationship

48:49

or that feeling that you have almost lost, I

48:52

would imagine? Yeah, that's what the show

48:54

I Love You Gee is about. It's about all

48:56

those questions. We don't have answers. We have

48:58

more questions. We're not fixed. We're

49:01

like trying to go deep

49:03

and wide within ourselves, not just

49:05

deep. Deep is just too

49:07

narrow. So we have to go deep and

49:10

then we have to stretch out wide and

49:12

grasp onto where these feelings come from. And

49:14

I remember watching Neil go

49:16

through his thing and going, how

49:19

did I miss all those signs? How

49:22

did I miss him

49:24

going to this moment? Because I saw nothing.

49:27

What led up to that moment was just what we always

49:29

do. We were just

49:32

like mocking. And you know when

49:34

we mock, especially when I mock, I

49:36

feel like I'm pretty elite in mocking and

49:39

I would go in and

49:41

I'll hammer, hammer, hammer away because that's

49:43

how I show you I Love You.

49:45

Yeah, but I think that's the learning

49:47

as well. It feels

49:49

like quite a thin line that you

49:51

walk sometimes with

49:54

mocking. And I think that was the thing we were trying

49:56

to figure out. Like we thought we were the best of

49:58

mates. So how do we see? celebrate you by

50:00

mocking the hell out of you man. But

50:04

then that thin line is like, I don't

50:07

know, it was definitely crossed. Because

50:10

in our head we're celebrating you. But

50:13

on the other side you don't know what's going on. It's

50:15

like, right, I'm just, everyone's

50:17

just bullying me. I'm just the

50:20

butt of the joke and that's all I am. This

50:23

is such an interesting topic to me. I

50:25

think mocking in our country, just

50:28

as it pertains geographically to us,

50:30

is like, it's unique

50:34

and it's something I don't experience other

50:36

places. I know other cultures tease, but

50:39

for us, and

50:41

maybe you're exploring this in the show,

50:43

but I've always thought the way we

50:45

mock is connected

50:48

to a coping mechanism, it's

50:50

connected to safety. I

50:53

think in a lot of our environments

50:55

where we grow up, where we aren't

50:57

having healthy communications at home with parents,

50:59

that's not modelled for us. So

51:03

there's no way to regulate your emotions in a

51:05

safe setting. So then you go to school

51:08

and someone's saying you're deepest

51:11

insecurity. But you

51:13

somehow instinctively know that you're not

51:15

allowed to get mad about it

51:17

because you're watching everyone get their

51:19

insecurities brought up. And then

51:21

in some toxic way sometimes, because I

51:23

don't want to throw this mocking under

51:25

the bus, it's our tool to relate,

51:27

but in some toxic way, it

51:31

becomes a language you all use.

51:34

But what I'm hearing

51:36

is that in

51:39

not being able to regulate sometimes, a fracture was

51:41

made in your guys' friendships and this is what

51:43

I love you, Geez, about. And

51:47

I don't know where

51:49

to go with all these things, but I'm

51:51

just so keen to watch this series show

51:53

because even I Love You, Geez, is like

51:55

the perfect name. Because I'll see that.

52:00

I've said I love UG when there's actually things I'm

52:02

very annoyed at you about. I know

52:04

it's this thing to say. I've said I

52:06

love UG when I'm not even feeling it,

52:08

but I understand that our

52:11

relationship means I have to say that. Is that the

52:13

stuff you're... What

52:16

do you guys think about that stuff? Do you guys

52:18

agree with me? Yes, totally. Experiencing.

52:20

No, totally. Every time we listen to

52:22

the men's den, that's the men's... Our

52:26

show, I love UG, is the men's den

52:28

on stage in a theatrical way. And

52:31

it's not just deep. In the synopsis,

52:33

we're dicks, we're idiots. And

52:35

we are. We hope people

52:38

that don't watch theatre come watch the show because

52:40

I think some people from the hood are going

52:42

to watch this and go, what

52:44

the hell are these idiots doing? They're just

52:47

being idiots. For sure. This is theatre? It's

52:49

like, yeah, because we're breaking all the rules.

52:51

We're not going to give you a beginning,

52:53

middle, end story. We're going to give you

52:55

us being us on stage. We're not going

52:57

to give you a mental health talk. We're

52:59

just going to be us and put a

53:01

mirror in front of the audience and hopefully

53:03

they can see themselves. And hopefully

53:05

they walk away going, whew,

53:08

with a thought in their head, not just watching a play.

53:11

Because a play, that's why no one watches theatre in

53:13

New Zealand, you know? Like, and it doesn't have a

53:15

cool name because we're not trying to

53:17

make that type of theatre. We're just going to

53:19

be us, have a conversation, and we're

53:22

going to find cool, silly, fun,

53:24

deep and wide ways to show

53:26

an audience who doesn't watch theatre.

53:31

They'll let them know that those things can coexist. Yeah.

53:33

You can go really, really deep. You can come back

53:35

to shallow. I

53:38

want to try to almost use the means then

53:40

type of thing that we have done here to incorporate it

53:42

with the show as well. And Jordan, he talked about this

53:44

maybe two

53:46

months ago. It was probably one of the best means then

53:48

that we've had, but it was the idea of

53:50

forgiveness. And

53:52

clearly that is something that has happened here.

53:55

Now, maybe you can't talk

53:57

about what happens in order for you guys to...

54:00

forgive one another, but is

54:02

there tools that you guys have learned along the way?

54:04

Is there something, if someone's listening to this who's in

54:07

a very similar position where you boys have been, whether

54:09

that's with family, whether it's with friends, co-workers

54:12

that they love and admire that

54:14

are looking for some type of way to forgive someone

54:17

and potentially get back to the point where you

54:19

guys are? Because I would imagine now that you've

54:21

gone through and you've had the highs of the

54:23

highs and potentially the lows of the lows that

54:25

you've seen it all and now you're almost on

54:27

the other side or probably on the other side

54:29

now and the bond between you three is thicker

54:32

than it's ever been before. I

54:34

would imagine that that's where you guys are sitting, but

54:36

forgiveness is one of the hardest but

54:38

most important things and when Jordan talked about it, I think

54:40

we had one of the biggest responses we've had as well.

54:43

So is there an angle that you guys

54:45

have when it comes to something along the lines of forgiveness? Man,

54:48

I remember listening to that episode as well. I think

54:50

it was one, two and four. It

54:54

got me, man. I remember sitting in the car and I

54:56

had to pull over and I teared up a little board

54:59

of beef straight away. Awesome. And

55:03

to answer your question for me, it

55:06

was like first off

55:08

learning about myself, but then

55:10

also relearning about the boys and

55:13

we were in this patch and

55:15

I was like, damn, what is

55:17

this? This is relearning, refining, or

55:20

reminding myself of what we're like.

55:24

And it's weird because for me

55:27

as well, there's always this natural picking order

55:29

in a friendship group

55:31

where there's the guy that

55:33

makes the first quarter check-in,

55:35

there's the guy that gets

55:37

everyone together, let's have a

55:39

dinner, and then there's the guy,

55:42

which is me, that scrolls

55:44

through the chat and just gives the scene. And

55:47

I was thinking

55:49

about it, to break

55:52

that cycle and to

55:55

not underestimate the touch of your friendship

55:57

in that group and to feel You

56:00

know what, I can make that first

56:02

call. And I don't have to wait for

56:04

B to call me. I

56:06

can call him and check up on him. I

56:08

don't have to wait for Dom to plan

56:10

something. I can just plan it myself. But

56:14

yeah, for me, I was just breaking out of that and

56:16

just not only playing a part in

56:18

the friendship, but being a part of the friendship. Just

56:22

learning how to do that. Sorry,

56:25

I've come out secretly. Sorry.

56:29

General, just to break on in. This

56:31

is fascinating to me. Because when I

56:33

watch you three, I see each member

56:35

of my friendship circles and who's who.

56:37

But for me, Neil, this is an

56:39

amazing moment for you. Because this is,

56:41

I think, what

56:44

we're about to witness is a real vulnerability

56:46

from you. Because it's not often the one

56:48

who's taken the jab, who's then come forward

56:51

and be like, yo, I'm willing

56:53

to open this up to a whole lot of people and

56:56

admit that you couldn't take

56:59

it, but you didn't take it

57:01

like you would have done in the past. And

57:03

I think that's a fascinating place to start, for

57:05

you being able to

57:08

not only unpack it in front of your friends and your boys to

57:10

witness it, but then to go, yeah, we can make

57:12

this a stage show. Can you

57:14

talk me through some of those

57:16

moments when it's just you in the

57:18

bathroom? You got your shirt off, you're just about to get in the shower,

57:20

and you're about to do this now. What are

57:22

some of those feelings you're going through? Oh,

57:25

man, it gets me every time. It

57:27

got me yesterday at rehearsals.

57:31

And it still gets me to this very moment

57:34

where I get a little bit emotional about it.

57:36

And it's because

57:39

we're still working through it. And

57:44

man, when

57:46

I sit there, when I really think about it,

57:51

like we were saying earlier, I don't have

57:53

the answers to it. But I'm willing to

57:55

like, I

57:58

have this big thing where I try and be like. my

58:00

mates. Everything

58:02

like them I'll try and be like them

58:05

but actually

58:07

stepping back and

58:09

saying to myself I don't have to be like

58:11

them but I can learn from them and

58:15

that's where I sort of change things a

58:17

little bit. I'm like okay

58:19

he's confident he's he's

58:22

putty and I'm

58:24

trying to copy that all the time but it's like man

58:27

like don't do that don't

58:29

try and copy them just learn from them. I hope

58:32

that answer your question Mark. That

58:36

shit is so deep like it's so hard to

58:39

know where to go but like what

58:41

you're touching on like I assume

58:43

that Neil like

58:45

for you you also know that

58:47

they're championing you to know

58:50

your own voice and I feel like

58:52

the people that know your situation that

58:54

can be a mind sometimes

58:58

because you know they're not trying to make you

59:00

feel like you don't have your own

59:02

thing but in your mind you're still

59:04

trying to like process what is my thing and

59:08

like that's just that's that's

59:11

powerful what you're sharing and

59:14

what you're touching on and

59:16

what Mark just touched on is you know I

59:18

don't know the show yet but this whatever

59:21

I know healing is going to come from this.

59:23

I know perspectives gonna come from I know joy

59:25

and laughter is gonna come from this and

59:27

you know in the theater space you know so there's

59:29

guy over here honestly like this to be real like

59:32

yeah I've actually

59:34

been to like five theater shows but

59:36

often I'm just like more than most we're

59:38

watching we're like I know the way you

59:40

guys are gonna do it it's

59:43

gonna you people are gonna feel like they're

59:45

like us like you know like they talk

59:47

like us they see things like us they

59:49

had a life like us they

59:51

came from where we came from and

59:54

so like it's so exciting to hear

59:56

these powerful concepts we talk about because

59:58

like that's when the puns happens. That's

1:00:01

when the punch happens. So, Neil, I'm so stoked

1:00:03

for you. This is all happening

1:00:05

because of you, because your heart's willing to

1:00:08

explore this and obviously your brothers are willing

1:00:10

to support. One thing I want to touch

1:00:12

on quickly and ask you about, and please

1:00:14

elaborate, but

1:00:16

I've said this before and I

1:00:18

think particularly among Pacific men, no

1:00:21

one really understands

1:00:24

how potent brotherhood is for

1:00:26

us. I've

1:00:29

said to people this

1:00:31

before and I've been given weird looks, and

1:00:35

I don't know how to rephrase it, so just shifters

1:00:38

just hear what I'm saying. But I think

1:00:40

for some men, it's more

1:00:42

intimate than some relationships. Some

1:00:45

of our men are in with wives or women,

1:00:47

not to say that those aren't intimate. But

1:00:50

when you have day ones and

1:00:53

some of us didn't have

1:00:55

fathers or we didn't have

1:00:57

homes that raised us

1:01:01

as we become adults and realized we should have

1:01:03

been raised like or that other people had or

1:01:05

they had other spaces, and then

1:01:07

you have your boys that half

1:01:10

the drink with you, half the pie with you, said

1:01:13

you could stay when you didn't want to stay.

1:01:16

I told them you didn't feel safe at home, but you

1:01:18

went over there anyway and you were just hanging around playing

1:01:20

PS. There's so many different angles

1:01:23

to look at this. I

1:01:25

think about that all the time. There's a

1:01:28

potency in brotherhood that is very intimate and

1:01:30

it's very deep. Then I think about the

1:01:32

show and you talk about you guys thought

1:01:34

you cracked it and then a

1:01:36

fracture happens. How does that then, and

1:01:38

I'd love to hear from each of you,

1:01:42

when that fracture happens in

1:01:44

a bond that is incredibly

1:01:47

powerful you individually, how

1:01:49

does that affect how you love others? How

1:01:52

does that affect how you go and father? How

1:01:55

does that affect how you see the world? And

1:01:58

what has that journey been like? sense

1:02:00

the fracture and coming back to this because

1:02:03

I assume like you go back in you

1:02:07

know what I'm saying yeah yeah

1:02:19

good good man like I touch

1:02:22

on the start of that question like I have

1:02:24

an older brother but

1:02:26

we grew up in a time where where

1:02:29

he's still trying to figure out how

1:02:32

to be an older brother we

1:02:34

had good moments man but it was when I

1:02:36

met these guys where

1:02:38

I started picking you know

1:02:40

off little moments of and

1:02:43

I started to look at them as like an example

1:02:45

of an older brother and

1:02:48

when that fracture did happen I

1:02:51

yeah I

1:02:55

stopped making friends yeah

1:02:58

I did because I not

1:03:01

because I didn't believe that friendship

1:03:03

was it was a thing but because my journey

1:03:06

was different I had to go away

1:03:08

and really look inside looking

1:03:10

to myself and you

1:03:12

know fix me first before I can come

1:03:15

out and fix whatever what was in front of me so

1:03:19

yeah I stopped for a while and I

1:03:21

guess that led

1:03:23

me on the path of just going away

1:03:26

and you know we still turned

1:03:28

up for each other all special

1:03:30

occasions and

1:03:33

that's what I was gripping on to was just let's just turn

1:03:35

up just turn up and not

1:03:37

trying to force anything you know and just trusting

1:03:39

the space that the space that we have for

1:03:41

each other will eventually if it was meant to

1:03:43

be then it would yeah

1:03:49

tough some

1:03:52

on culture we have a thing called the bar

1:03:54

the space the space in between how we see

1:03:56

the world is we see it through the space

1:03:58

of the bar the space relationship between

1:04:01

me and you, you, Jordan, me

1:04:03

and my wife, me and my boys, you

1:04:05

always got to balance that. When the

1:04:07

vah is broken or when it's stepped on

1:04:10

is when it's unbalanced. So we've got to

1:04:12

try and figure out how to balance that.

1:04:14

Not just with people of nature, with the

1:04:16

cosmos, with God, with everything. That's how Psalm

1:04:18

1 originally thought. And in this

1:04:21

brotherhood the vah was stepped on and

1:04:23

we didn't know where the balance was.

1:04:26

And be honest bro,

1:04:28

I hated these guys. I'm

1:04:30

not even lying. Hey, you

1:04:32

know, I hated them. And

1:04:35

because to me loyalty is

1:04:38

everything. I

1:04:40

used to think I'll die for you. I'll happily,

1:04:42

I'll happily die for you. It's all the alpha

1:04:44

males stuff. Like give me a reason to die

1:04:46

for you. Die for you. But they didn't need

1:04:48

me to die for you. They just

1:04:50

needed me to shut up, listen and love them. And

1:04:54

it hurt knowing

1:04:57

that because I was like, wait, but my

1:04:59

whole worldview is I'll give you this. We

1:05:02

don't need that from you. We need this. I was

1:05:05

like, how does that even work?

1:05:08

Like why? Like what are you talking about? Are you

1:05:10

that? But I'll give you my life. Just

1:05:14

love my strength. And

1:05:16

it was, yeah, that

1:05:19

was, and that's where I just, that's

1:05:21

where the hate came from because I was

1:05:25

hurt that they

1:05:27

weren't willing to take the thing that I

1:05:29

was offering. And I also wasn't

1:05:31

willing to give them the thing that they needed.

1:05:34

So, yeah. Just

1:05:39

touching on the space in between.

1:05:42

Going back to the night when we did

1:05:45

have like the fight and then

1:05:47

all of a sudden the cracks between us like

1:05:49

started to show and then within the friendship there

1:05:51

becomes like this, just a weird ear that flows

1:05:54

between you. It's kind of like a bit hollow

1:05:56

and then you don't address that and then you're

1:05:58

trying to get it to you. trying to

1:06:00

figure out what the hell is going on every time

1:06:02

we do catch up because the air is still like

1:06:05

that there's a weird breeze that flows between

1:06:07

us now where it used to be really

1:06:09

solid and then I just remember going you

1:06:12

know what we need to do we need to tell these

1:06:14

old stories that we always told that we always laughed at

1:06:16

and that's what keeps us tight and you try to hold

1:06:18

on to these moments by telling these old stories we're living

1:06:20

like living in the past rather than just trying to figure

1:06:23

out how to live now but then

1:06:25

also going back to like

1:06:27

your question I've realized

1:06:30

with like these guys are a piece to my puzzle you

1:06:33

know you don't know

1:06:35

that and all of a sudden you're kind of lost because Bea

1:06:37

has a great superpower where

1:06:39

he does these random chicken calls at

1:06:42

the most random random times where

1:06:44

I didn't even know I'm in this weird mood

1:06:47

but Bea's just like haven't heard from you in a little

1:06:49

bit you're good

1:06:52

yeah you know your

1:06:54

best mates just know know

1:06:57

that you're not all good so just thinking about small

1:06:59

things like that or just thinking about

1:07:01

I don't if I'm not

1:07:03

with these guys I don't get to live

1:07:06

in the world and just see it

1:07:08

through Neil's eyes you know if that's

1:07:10

if these two aren't around I get

1:07:12

to see like there was beautiful beautiful

1:07:15

perspective of the world well I'm sudden you

1:07:17

just kind of feel lost you know these

1:07:19

guys are a piece to my puzzle and

1:07:23

we were so close to losing it

1:07:25

totally bread we're like millimeters away from

1:07:28

giving up on you know

1:07:30

because that's what people do is it like

1:07:32

people in your head that you've given up

1:07:35

on and you're just the world is

1:07:37

just carried on the sun's come up the next

1:07:39

day yeah and that piece of the puzzle is

1:07:41

gone we almost lost a big

1:07:46

part of how we see the world it'd

1:07:48

be so weird if people would to be like oh what

1:07:51

a Neil and be up to and then my response would

1:07:53

be like I don't know I

1:08:00

know how to arrest you on it. Totally. I

1:08:05

love this shit man. I love this

1:08:07

shit. What is your hope?

1:08:10

People that are... A

1:08:12

big push for us is to get people that don't watch that

1:08:14

and don't care to come to this show. Because I know you

1:08:16

speak in a language. I

1:08:19

know you know how to capture a moment that is...

1:08:22

That we will get and we will understand. That is why

1:08:24

I have you guys here. Yes. Because

1:08:28

particularly I have a really strong relationship with Beaulieu. But

1:08:30

my respect for him goes to you guys. But

1:08:33

that is why we are doing this. So people that

1:08:35

are going to come and have a scene theater. People

1:08:37

that have. What is your hope when they

1:08:39

walk out those doors? From

1:08:41

what you guys are building

1:08:45

right now. And they are going to

1:08:47

perform. I hope

1:08:50

we are brave enough to tell the story that

1:08:52

we need to tell. In order

1:08:54

for that mirror to go up in front of

1:08:57

the audience. Sure you are going to be watching

1:08:59

us. But we need a

1:09:01

mirror there. And we need people

1:09:03

to see themselves on stage.

1:09:06

And walk away thinking of those

1:09:08

thoughts. You know

1:09:10

like... That is where I feel

1:09:12

like art wins. Is when

1:09:14

the art continues outside of the movie

1:09:16

theater. Outside of the theater. Outside of

1:09:19

the TV series. Outside of... It continues

1:09:21

like the hip hop battle that you

1:09:23

are talking about. When it continues

1:09:26

outside of the realm it is supposed to be.

1:09:28

And that is where art wins. And

1:09:31

the reason why we are kind of being

1:09:33

sacrificial lambs. For ourselves. It

1:09:35

is for our people to do that. We

1:09:38

need that for our people. And we

1:09:41

need not just the shifters. But everyone who

1:09:43

is like the shifters. That is why

1:09:45

we are on here. The night that the shifters

1:09:47

come in. That is also a kohai night.

1:09:50

So you can just buy a ticket online. It is

1:09:52

free. And you pay whatever you like on that night.

1:09:54

On the 2nd of May. Ticket

1:09:57

prices are 35 bucks. Which is pretty cheap. If you are

1:09:59

unable to pay. under 30 years old it's 25 bucks. Or

1:10:02

20, yeah 25 bucks. So

1:10:04

we're trying to make it accessible for our

1:10:06

people, the dream, for myself, maybe

1:10:09

for the boys, is if normal

1:10:11

theater goers can't get into the

1:10:13

show because it's sold

1:10:15

out by real people who've never seen

1:10:17

theater. You know, that would

1:10:19

be crafted. And it

1:10:22

ain't about money for us, because there ain't

1:10:24

no money in theater like that. But

1:10:26

it's like, this is what 660 are

1:10:29

doing on tour. We're doing this on

1:10:31

stage for us. Yeah

1:10:35

man. And I think you said it as

1:10:37

well, Bio, last week

1:10:40

that there's no point

1:10:42

in having a sold out show when the

1:10:44

right people ain't there. Yeah man. Yeah,

1:10:48

my team's graying in. Yeah. I

1:10:51

mean. Oh man. That's such a

1:10:53

good point. I hope I say this right off the back

1:10:55

of that. Because

1:10:57

you keep talking about, and there's no doubt about it, is

1:10:59

the people that are there and doing it for the people.

1:11:01

And Jordan touched on it as people that look like us,

1:11:03

that have come from the same place as us, who

1:11:06

talk like us. But I

1:11:08

would imagine individually it's probably pretty different as well. Who

1:11:13

are you trying to talk to? Or

1:11:16

show off your art to in this? And I'm not

1:11:18

talking about someone who looks like us, I'm talking about

1:11:21

the adult who has a broken inner child. Or

1:11:25

the lost soul out there at the moment. Like who are

1:11:27

you trying to talk to, or show off your skills to

1:11:30

when it comes to this theater and what you guys can

1:11:32

display? Myself

1:11:35

and my older brother. Yeah,

1:11:38

my younger self. And

1:11:41

my older brother today. Myself

1:11:45

as well. I always

1:11:48

think, and I'm like, damn

1:11:51

man, I hope my brothers have

1:11:54

friends like me in life. And

1:11:57

I hope people out there.

1:12:01

don't underestimate the touch on

1:12:04

their friendship, the power that they might have

1:12:06

if you're the one that just sits back. Jump

1:12:10

in there man, make that first

1:12:12

call. Plan that get together man. I'm

1:12:19

trying to talk to my baby brothers. I'm

1:12:23

the eldest of six. Four

1:12:26

brothers, one sister. I'm trying to talk to my

1:12:28

sister as well. I'm always trying to,

1:12:30

we got no dad, so I'm sitting in the bar.

1:12:32

So it's just like every

1:12:34

chance I get a chance to do

1:12:36

art like this where I get to

1:12:38

say something, I speak to them. And

1:12:40

through them I speak to everyone. Also

1:12:44

trying to talk to Paul Mungaseva. I'm

1:12:46

trying to talk to all those guys

1:12:50

and carry that and let them know. We're

1:12:53

good baby, all we need to do is talk.

1:13:01

I love these chats

1:13:03

with people that

1:13:05

you have because in another way there's

1:13:11

so much talk these days. You

1:13:13

know what I'm saying?

1:13:15

It's a lot of

1:13:18

noise. But

1:13:20

that's why I like these conversations. That's why I'm

1:13:23

excited to see because I know the

1:13:25

work's been done so the

1:13:27

art can do its thing. I'm

1:13:34

fucking excited boys. And

1:13:37

we will get 20 shifters there and more. Please

1:13:40

come along. I

1:13:43

mean, just semantics. I've heard a couple stories

1:13:45

behind the scenes of B telling off white

1:13:48

people. We're

1:13:54

not doing it like that. You don't kill us.

1:13:58

Well just people need to understand. And

1:14:00

how we operate, we're not making the

1:14:02

show. This is not a

1:14:04

show. This is not the theater show

1:14:06

for the year for massive company. This

1:14:08

is our hearts. This is tough, what

1:14:10

we're making. So it's like we

1:14:12

have to treat it that way. And there's

1:14:14

a different way that brown people operate.

1:14:17

And it's not through a wish and then. You

1:14:21

can't put it in an Excel sheet and make

1:14:23

it work like that. You

1:14:25

should care, Bill. No, you can't. And

1:14:28

it's like if people need to get a

1:14:31

growling, these boys already know. Yeah,

1:14:35

don't see C. Bueller in the email. Just keep

1:14:37

it in real life. We all need

1:14:39

to feel like BA because it's me. Tell

1:14:41

him, Moses. He's the rough guy. Yeah.

1:14:46

I love that. The show is called I Love You, G. It

1:14:50

starts in April, May 1st, the first show. May

1:14:52

1st to 11th. For two weeks? Yeah,

1:14:55

two weeks. You can get tickets on

1:14:57

massive theater company. Website.

1:15:00

We'll have all this on our page, too. Yeah, I have it all on the

1:15:02

page. If we can fill it

1:15:04

with our people, fill it with shift, especially that second night,

1:15:06

Kwa Han night. If

1:15:08

you've got kids, man, bring your daughter. Bring

1:15:12

everyone. Bring anyone that

1:15:14

you feel like doesn't even need to know

1:15:16

about the show. But you see there's a

1:15:18

black cloud on their shoulder. Bring

1:15:20

them. Surprise them. Because we won't scare

1:15:22

them. Because it's silly. As deep

1:15:24

as this is, you're honestly going

1:15:27

to see it. You're going to be like, these

1:15:29

guys are idiots. How

1:15:31

is this so fun and silly, but theater?

1:15:35

Well, that's our power, eh, the jewelry? Yeah,

1:15:38

the jewelry. Sickle your bum and then help

1:15:40

you. Thank

1:15:46

you, boys, for your time. I can't wait.

1:15:48

And we'll be there. We'll be there. Love you,

1:15:50

guys. Appreciate it. I appreciate it. Woo! That's the

1:15:52

show, boys. Absolutely incredible. How was that? Very

1:15:55

powerful. Can't wait to head along to that. Very

1:15:57

incredible. And as we always say, every.

1:16:00

Guys don't forget to chicken your people.

1:16:02

That's it. Check on your people. Always

1:16:04

love you, see you tomorrow. This is the

1:16:07

shit. The

1:16:15

morning shit. I'm

1:16:17

gonna make them laugh, I can't believe it. This

1:16:20

shit. I love you. This

1:16:23

is the shit. You

1:16:26

got it. I can't believe it.
