The Music Journal Podcast is a show that documents trending musical events and topics as they happen. Our host, Wes Yee is a music producer and artist, himself. He’s found himself in many different facets of the music industry – From writing and producing jingles, to licensing, to teaching to being an artist releasing his own music. Because of this he’s been able to build an extremely broad network of amazing artists, musicians and people in the industry, and on this show he brings some of them on to chat about not only the trends, but also how you can apply them to your own career if you’re an aspiring music producer or artist.

Carla is the true definition of a warrior. Our friendship dates back about 5 years ago, and the first song I ever wrote under my own name was with her. Unfortunately, that song never saw the light of day, due to my own development as an artist, but Carla turns any track she's on into gold. 

About a year and a half ago, she got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at only 22 years old. This is a tragedy that both she and I wouldn't wish on any one; however, Carla's positive spirit and outlook is not only infectious, but nothing shy of amazing. 

Carla's been dealt some undeniably terrible cards, but through it all has always persevered. If there's anybody in the world with the courage and strength to persevere through this, it's her.

She talks about how doctors told her that she would never walk again, but today she's walking. She was told she'd never be able to live on her own, but she does. If there's anything to take from today's episode, it's that anything is possible and to not sweat the small stuff.
