ARCHIVED EPISODE - MARCH 2016
Welcome to The Night Keep… only this time, it’s not about horror – unless you consider trying to be an independent publisher – in that case, then this panel might be a little scary. Just kidding. I was blessed with the opportunity to have a booth presence at my first convention, Agamacon in Aiken, South Carolina. I was also incredibly blessed to meet many new friends and connections living in my area – and they are all creators, as well. I hosted a panel, a “Dannal Panelâ€, if you like. My panel was “Indie Publishing – Get Your Creations Madeâ€, and this is a recording of that panel. I am still overwhelmed by the amount of talent that was present at my panel, as well as staggered by the positive feedback. It went so well, I wanted to share it with everyone. I hope something is said that might be of help. I do ramble, so there is your warning.
I admit it in the panel, and I mention here as well: I am no one special, nor am I trying to give any air of conceit. I merely feel that I may have an insight in the indie publishing scene that people may not be aware of. I also wanted to hammer in my positive influence on as many people in one setting as I could.
“Don’t you EVER let anyone tell you what you can’t do.â€
The audio quality is a bit… okay, it’s not that great at all. It was recorded on a Tascam DR-07 with a lavalier mic. It’s also my first panel. Cut me some slack.
Remember, as indie creators, the deck is stacked against us, but we do have resources. USE Google. The width and breadth of human knowledge is at our fingertips. USE it. Also remember, Twitter is free.
Here are links to the sites that I mention in the panel. With my favorite 4-letter f-bomb where applicable. \m/
