Holly May Cookson at the age of 27 was diagnosed with CML, Chronic Myelogenous Leukaemia. Diagnosed only two years ago, in this episode Holly describes her surprise in what it is now like living alongside an incurable invisible illness and her struggles navigating society with an illness that cannot be detected by sight. We have a right good chinwag about dating while taking our disability and illness along with us for the ride, romantic relationships the whole personal invasion people feel they have the right to know as soon as they find out you have a disability or illness into whether you can or cannot have children and what that's all truly like to experience. Holly also bravely exposes her truth about her long term battles with insecurity and body dismorphia and also how she now today tries to navigate the world of work while also being a "cancer patient".
It is safe to say within society cancer is one of the most known and feared diagnosis there is and Holly most certainly dose not hold back on the truths of what experiencing cancer as your reality can truly be like.
