This month for Native American Heritage Month, we are dedicating our stories to those who originally inhabited this land. To that end, this week, we are discussing a cryptid like creature of legend known to the tribes in the Great Lake region, as well as others, the Windigo. Spelled a total of 37 (at least) different ways, the wendigo was associated with winter, starvation, and selfishness. This terrifying creature will haunt you like it haunts us.
