quote. And what a show

1:00

we have for you today. Lots to get

1:03

into it, I'm telling you, we all

1:05

are excited that the games are near,

1:09

that it looks like the games will soon

1:11

be here. But there is

1:13

still plenty

1:16

of sports stuff to talk

1:18

about. Narrative after narrative,

1:21

comment after comment. I

1:24

mean, there's just tons of stuff to get

1:26

into it, and and we will do just that today.

1:29

There is NBA talk, there

1:31

is NFL talk, and

1:34

there is stuff about bubbles

1:36

and all that. We got some great guests

1:38

for you to starting off with our

1:40

man Robert Smith, Fox football

1:43

analyst, former Pro Bowl

1:45

running back and his robb and I have said often

1:48

the second greatest light skin running

1:50

back of all times. Right on

1:53

Franco Harris. Oh, Franco, there you go.

1:55

He was smart two of us to one out of bounds instead

1:57

of taking He showed Jim

2:00

Brand to be upset with him, and they saw

2:02

all rip on him. And look, frank o' Harris got

2:04

his faculties. Chris, he's good to go. Yeah,

2:06

I'm not mad at him. I'm not mad at

2:09

him at all. He won four Super Bowls,

2:11

he's a Hall of Famer and he can

2:13

walk and walk and there's

2:15

no reason to take an extra

2:17

head for half of y'all. You're not

2:19

getting am I right? I'm with you. I'm

2:22

with I love Big Franco. He was one

2:24

of my favorite uh players, me being

2:26

a huge Steelers fan back in the day. So I

2:28

am with that. All right, Well,

2:30

you just heard my guests. How are

2:32

you, man? How is your weekend? I mean gain, I'm my guest.

2:35

I'm bad, I'm bad, my bad, my

2:37

partner. Oh wow,

2:40

you know what total

2:42

slipper the tone. Yeah, I didn't get the

2:44

memo cone extension.

2:47

That's not half Scott, Scott Rob

2:51

tonight is your last show and thank

2:55

you. No, how was your weekend? Good

2:57

weeks? Yeah, I mean, you

2:59

know, not much going on, but it is

3:01

what it is. It's summertime.

3:04

It's just feels so weird. And you know, Chris

3:06

here and Lost Angle Leaves.

3:08

They just shut down everything again. I was

3:10

gonna say they're tightening up so haut

3:13

that just started. It just started today. No

3:17

more haircuts. Well, the gyms are reached

3:19

shut down again. I

3:21

just it's it's going basically

3:23

back to square one, where basically

3:26

where you're supposed to stay in the house. For

3:28

the most part, it's wautiful out. The

3:31

weather's great and there's nowhere to go and

3:33

you could still eat outside. Chris, that's

3:35

about all you can do. Lease do that? Are

3:37

you a walker? Because I'm walking? No,

3:40

I'm like, I do I walkigh, Yeah,

3:42

I'm in a neighborhood that's walkable and

3:45

and Coulbra Citi's right around

3:47

the way, you know, Cobra City Coat is walking

3:50

kind of places and stuff. So

3:52

yeah, it's all good. But I'm pumped

3:54

to go on another dead Spin column

3:57

in the books today, and uh all

4:00

we got a little trash talking on

4:03

dead Spin as well. Can't wait for that.

4:05

So I get to go and on the Eye Couple,

4:07

we are back. The phone lines are wy

4:10

and so you will be able to call in

4:12

so at the twenty minute mark, Rob as

4:14

we do every week. Yes, every hour,

4:17

you guys will get to call in and voice

4:19

your views naked without

4:21

our listeners. Right, yeah, yeah, I mean I

4:24

like it. And it's good, you know, to

4:26

get the feedback on because you

4:29

know what, half the time you

4:31

and I are kind of disagreeing at least

4:33

half the time, so it's good to get the feedback

4:36

see who the fans you know, agreed with

4:38

and you know, things like that. So

4:40

uh so, yeah, it adds a little flavor to

4:42

no doubt. So with that saying, let's introduce

4:45

the Eye Couple crew. We got Don Adams

4:48

in on the ones and the twos for DJ

4:50

Alex Tyson. It was Don Brown. What's

4:52

his name? I'm sorry, what I'm

4:54

I'm I'm Adam Adams

4:57

just from Get Smart. I'm like Dom

5:00

had him Don Brown. If you ask him again,

5:02

he'll knock you down there? It is Don

5:05

Brown. How can I forget that, especially

5:07

when you keep you keep saying that corny

5:09

line. That's all right, Don loves it.

5:11

That was bad bad Leroy Brown right,

5:14

the baddest man in the whole day in town. Oh. I just

5:16

got a text from Scott Shapiro and it

5:18

says, you ready for my boss,

5:20

mister Parker. I thank you for your

5:23

contributions on FS. It's

5:26

been a wonderful ride. Why it

5:30

slipped right, Scott, I didn't mean that.

5:32

Let the cat let cat out of the bag,

5:35

Rob Gee. Once he gets back, he'll

5:37

sit in here, yes, yes, but

5:40

it'll be Martin Wie. He came in to field it for

5:42

you, Chris, and he decided to replace

5:44

me. I mean Martin was talking mad

5:47

junk like, like was he that good?

5:49

Really? He did a good job.

5:51

I mean

5:54

he he had me scared for a minute.

5:56

But anyway, on the updates is the

5:58

man Ralph r and leader of the big

6:00

threes. Let's get it going, Rob and let's start.

6:03

You mentioned it. You wrote a strong

6:06

column on dead Spend about

6:08

how of course by now most people

6:11

know, certainly all basketball

6:13

fans, that the NBA players,

6:15

most of them will have

6:18

a social justice slogan

6:20

or word on

6:22

the back of their jerseys instead of

6:25

their last names if they want. And

6:28

big names are saying that

6:30

they're not going to have the

6:33

slogan on the back. Anthony Davis,

6:36

Joel Embiid I believe just just

6:39

said he was not going to do it as

6:41

well, and the biggest of them,

6:43

although the face of the

6:45

league, Lebron James, who has

6:47

been you know, I mean, his social

6:51

justice resume is strong,

6:53

it's stronger than anybody in the league right now.

6:56

But he has decided he is not going

6:59

to have a slogan. He's going to have his last name

7:01

on his jersey. And we'll get into all that, and that's what

7:03

you Rob, You wrote a strong column about

7:06

that. But first let's hear from Charles

7:08

Barkley, friend of the Show. He

7:10

commented on CNBC on

7:13

Friday about the notion

7:15

of the slogans, the phrases, the black

7:17

lives matter on the court and so on and so forth.

7:20

Obviously really police reform and prism reform.

7:22

But the media, you know, we all

7:25

got a job to do, and they're gonna spend

7:27

all their time on what's on somebody's jersey.

7:29

And what's on the buses and who's

7:31

nieling and who's not kneeling, and that's going to

7:34

defeat the purpose of my concern is this turning

7:36

this thing into a certain instead of trying to do some

7:38

good stuff. All right, Rob,

7:40

since you wrote the column, you want to

7:42

take the first abbage. Yeah.

7:44

My whole thing was Chris,

7:47

obviously, And I said that, you

7:49

know, you could debate because we talked

7:52

about it on the show last week about

7:54

whether or not the NBA just should have allowed

7:56

people to say whatever they wanted to say

7:58

rather than a oh

8:04

or words or whatever. Let's

8:07

he lost you for a second. You got me?

8:09

Yeah, everything good over there. Okay,

8:13

we got you now, But right it drops for

8:15

about three seconds. Okay. I was saying,

8:17

you know, the league approved twenty nine

8:20

words or phrases, Chris for the

8:22

to go on the back of your jersey. And

8:24

I thought Lebron missed what I would call

8:26

a bunny or a layup. Lebron

8:29

said, nothing really registered with him.

8:32

I don't know. I got the feeling that because he

8:34

wasn't consulted about this that maybe

8:37

kind of turned his nose up to it soured

8:39

a little bit. I'm not surprised that Anthony Davis

8:41

followed suit. Whatever Lebron does, he

8:44

seems like Anthony Davis will do, so

8:46

he's not his own at least it doesn't

8:48

seem like that. Well, I'm just saying that's what it seems

8:51

like. And and in

8:53

Lebron's case, I thought he missed an opportunity

8:55

to Chris because Lebron started

8:57

like a voting organization

9:01

to try to get people to register to vote

9:03

and to vote. So I thought, which

9:05

is great, which is I'm giving him credit

9:08

him in some high profile other athletes

9:10

and entertainers and Chris. He

9:12

could have put vote. If you looked at the picture

9:15

that they photoshop on Debt

9:17

Spin, it had vote on the back of Lebron's

9:20

jersey, and I thought that that would

9:22

be great. People could look at that,

9:25

Hey, Lebron has vote. Do

9:27

you know about his new organization about

9:30

registering to vote and all kinds

9:32

of stuff like that. And this way,

9:36

it's still like it still

9:38

will will have an impact on the

9:40

masses. But when the biggest guy

9:42

in the league and the guy who commands

9:45

the most attention, pooh

9:47

poohs the whole notion of it and

9:50

doesn't follow suit, it takes away

9:52

from the whole thing, and it'll be like, how

9:55

come Lebron didn't do it? Oh, this is this

9:57

is corny, Oh this doesn't mean anything.

10:00

So to me, it

10:03

kind of hurt the whole process that

10:05

the NBA was trying to do. And

10:08

I thought he missed an opportunity just to

10:10

get the word out about voting. And

10:12

I thought that was the one, the one thing

10:15

Chris of nothing else that to me,

10:17

because of the organization he started that

10:20

could have worked in his favor. I

10:22

was surprised he didn't put vote on the back of his

10:25

You know, I have to admit, and I was undisputed

10:28

this morning with skipping Shannon, And I'll

10:30

certainly give the viewpoint that I shared

10:32

on that this morning, but I will

10:35

say, you make a good point. I

10:38

don't think that the

10:40

twenty nine options that the players

10:43

were given. First of all, I don't

10:45

like that the players

10:47

were given options like this is supposed

10:50

to be being done in

10:52

the spirit of protest right

10:54

and making your own expressiment

10:56

to your own expression right. And when

10:58

the powers the howards that be

11:02

tell you what, you

11:04

know what twenty nine slogans

11:06

you can use that kind of

11:08

flies in the face of the spirit of protests.

11:11

So I don't like that. I think Robin

11:13

and we talked about it. I think what they

11:15

should have done is the Players Association

11:17

and who was involved from what I'm

11:20

told in these you know, twenty

11:22

nine words and slogans that they chose,

11:25

But the Players Association and the league

11:27

should have said, look, guys, we need

11:29

the your slogan, your phrase,

11:32

your word that you're gonna have on the back of your jersey

11:34

by July sixteenth, whatever

11:37

date they would have given them, because we have to get it

11:39

put on your jerseys. And so that's

11:41

your deadline. No profanity, no cursed

11:43

words, anything like that, but send

11:46

it in by the sixteenth, and then

11:48

you vet it that way, you know, and if

11:50

anything is untoward and just isn't

11:53

you know, you just can't have on a jersey,

11:55

then you can tell that player, look, you gotta

11:57

get a new one quickly too, or

12:00

with your last name. But I think that's

12:02

how they should have done it. And I

12:04

salute Jalen Brown and Mike Scott, who

12:06

are players that came out. And to be honest, Rob Lebron

12:08

seemed to feel this way because if you look at his statement,

12:11

what he said was. I did have a

12:14

few, you know, things I had thought about.

12:17

I had some ideas that I wanted

12:19

to put on the back of the jersey, and I

12:21

think he was a bit turned off. I

12:23

think part in part because of what you and I

12:26

have said that hey, why are you limiting

12:28

what guys can say? And I

12:30

think rob and again, but

12:33

I will say this vote. You

12:35

make a good point. I disagree,

12:37

like I'm fine with Lebron not doing

12:39

it, but you do make a good point.

12:42

I mean, there's no doubt that, especially

12:44

with him starting the voting program

12:46

with him right right,

12:50

I think generally, I mean, obviously we all

12:52

know to vote. Everybody's gonna be telling everybody

12:54

to vote. These black celebrities and entertainers

12:57

and athletes, they're gonna be telling people to vote. But

13:00

it would have jibed right with what

13:02

he what his campaign is. So I

13:05

think that's a good point that you make. But

13:07

I just feel like the point

13:09

of having the names on the

13:12

back of the jerseys it should

13:14

be to spark a

13:16

conversation or be thought provoking.

13:19

So, like you said, I mean, if you have something

13:21

really thought provoking on the back of the jersey,

13:24

the journalists are gonna have to ask you about

13:26

it. Like I said last week, I think

13:28

they should have had reparations

13:30

or reparations now or Black

13:33

Wall Street or HBCU, something

13:35

where journalists gonna say, why do you have HBCU

13:37

on the back of your jersey, you know, and then you

13:40

can talk about it and use your

13:42

platform and maybe even spark a discussion

13:44

about it, you know, in the public. But

13:46

where I think most of the slogan's

13:49

justice, equality, respect

13:52

me, love me, I think is even

13:54

one. You know, things like that vote generally,

13:56

But like I said, it would have fit Lebron. I

13:59

just think most of them are pretty innocuous,

14:02

and so I get it. If that's

14:04

why Lebron didn't do it, I fully

14:06

understand it. But I do expect him to still

14:09

use the platform to speak out on issues,

14:11

including the vote. Yep,

14:13

No, I think that there will be

14:15

that. It just seemed like it would have

14:17

been easy. With everybody watching him,

14:20

It would have just fit. I thought that that wouldn't

14:22

have been a stretch for Lebron. He wouldn't

14:24

have been going off his brand Chris right,

14:27

he wouldn't have been doing something wacky and

14:29

strange, and people go, what, what does Lebron

14:31

have on there. I think that it worked,

14:33

and I'm just surprised that he didn't do it, but they'll

14:35

be shouldn't hear what people have to say?

14:38

Well, it's also surprising ride quickly

14:41

that Lebron wasn't consulted.

14:44

That is bizarre, Like I'm

14:46

shocked, and you know that that's part of why

14:49

Pennies are in a bunch. Maybe,

14:52

I mean, I do, I do think. I

14:54

don't think that I don't like

14:56

the idea rob and I'm not I think

14:59

the league means well and I think it's any

15:01

players that put anything on their jersey, I'm fine

15:03

with it, but I just it just seems

15:06

too You know that the powers

15:08

that be are given you permission. And one

15:10

thing about Lebron, he doesn't like being dictated

15:13

to. I'm not saying he won't ever,

15:15

you know, buy into what authority's saying, but

15:17

he doesn't like being dictated to. And

15:19

I think this kind of felt like, really,

15:22

I mean, you're giving us permission,

15:24

limited us to this, so m

15:27

but you know who knows. I'm not in his head.

15:29

You might be right, but it is surprising

15:32

he didn't have any saying that because I know the players

15:34

Association did be sure to catch live

15:36

editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard

15:39

and Rob Parker weekdays at seven

15:41

pm Eastern four pm Pacific on

15:43

Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio

15:46

app. Here's his Pat Mahomes talking

15:48

about how many rings

15:50

he wants. I don't know if there's a number. I

15:52

mean, obviously you try to chase greatness, and Tom's

15:55

got sick, so I'm gonna try to do whatever I can

15:57

to at least get to that number. I'm understand how hard

15:59

that is, how how really. I mean,

16:02

it was one of the kind thing for time to be able to get to

16:04

nine Super Bowls and win six of them. And so I'm

16:06

just gonna go about the process every single day of trying to

16:08

make myself better and do whatever I can to make the Kansas

16:10

City Chiefs better. I like it.

16:13

No, No, I don't like it. I

16:15

love it. He had

16:18

the guts, he

16:20

had the forty

16:22

two, he had the courage

16:25

to put it out there. Yes, I

16:28

want to be the goat. I

16:31

want six rings. I'm not afraid

16:33

to say it. Because Aaron Rodgers

16:36

only has one, and Drew Brees

16:38

only has one, and Peyton Manning

16:40

only has two. You

16:43

think I'm satisfied with

16:45

an MVP and a Super

16:47

Bowl ring in my first two

16:50

years as a starter. I am not

16:52

content. Oh

16:55

you think a five hundred billion

16:57

dollar contract is gonna

16:59

take away my hunger? I

17:02

am a hungry I am thirsty.

17:05

I am starving for rings.

17:07

Quitches it five hundred and three million

17:10

or billion? What do you say? Million? Did

17:12

I say billion? A million? I'm excited? Bills?

17:15

I told you I like it, million, five

17:17

hundred and three million? What? All

17:20

right? A little too calm down?

17:22

You just have I like it. Not

17:25

every player, Roban, I think you agree

17:27

with me on this. Not every

17:29

player would have it in them

17:31

to even put that out there. Six

17:35

rings, And I'm like, I'm not gonna see him

17:37

and predict he's gonna get six. But I'm

17:39

just saying I like that. Such a young

17:41

guy who already has accomplished

17:44

so much is willing

17:46

to put it out there and say, yep, that's

17:49

the goal six or

17:51

more. If

17:53

he was really all that, he would

17:55

have said seven. Not all that, No, he would

17:57

have said seven. What would you agree

17:59

to? Just want to touch the tie? Tom brain

18:02

because he knows I never gonna

18:04

be and

18:06

he was all that with all the swags.

18:09

He would have said seven, or he would

18:11

have said I'm gonna go nine. And he said

18:13

at least no, at

18:15

least that he said at least six, at

18:17

least at listen, that's half

18:20

hearted. That's half hearted. And

18:22

when he gets ticked like town Braid, at

18:24

least he should have stuck his chest

18:26

out, turned up the base in his voice,

18:29

which I'm not sure it's really there, and he

18:31

should have said, I want more than Tom

18:33

Brady. Tom Brady went to nine

18:35

Super Bowls. I want to be nine and

18:37

old. I want to be better than Michael Jordan.

18:39

I want to be better than Tom Brady. Where's

18:42

all that pravado? He lost

18:44

that, he didn't have the courage or

18:46

the guts to say he wanted that. I

18:49

want to same it town Brady. No, he

18:51

didn't get that. He said, at least

18:54

at least what does that mean?

18:57

Stick talk talk six, seven or

18:59

eight game? You heard Lebron?

19:01

You remember Lebron. That's what

19:03

he sounded like, Lebron, not

19:07

four. Here a difference,

19:09

here's the difference in the little bell. Lebron

19:12

didn't get there. He didn't win him. Chris,

19:14

he talked a big game. They danced

19:17

on the stage in Miami, they had

19:19

fireworks, they had bottles of wine

19:22

at Champagne. It didn't I

19:24

didn't see all that. I thought there was

19:26

something like that. What was Miami? You know,

19:28

I just figured that it

19:30

was in the back, all right, he wasn't

19:32

north stage. But no, look, Rob,

19:36

he's got something Lebron didn't have.

19:38

At that point, Lebron had not yet proven.

19:40

He can already

19:43

proving it. When Lebron put that team

19:45

together, Chris, everybody in

19:47

their uncle were like, oh wow, I mean how

19:50

they're not gonna lose? And Lebron lost.

19:52

He lost, and he didn't do

19:54

anything special Lebro Lebron in

19:57

this conversation, Well, because we've heard

19:59

this before, we're gonna

20:00

Rena when

20:04

Pat Mahomes is still looking for his second

20:06

championship eight years all right, all right,

20:08

we're gonna you went there. Let's go

20:11

there. All right. For some reason, Fox

20:14

Bat, which is usually incredibly reliable,

20:17

I guess it's not there for they're just putting it out there.

20:19

They got the over under or

20:22

my home's future rob future super

20:24

Bowls at one point

20:26

five, So that means they're

20:28

saying, does he win two or does

20:31

he win three. They're saying the over under is that

20:33

he wins two. Okay,

20:35

um, I'm saying, Rob, he's

20:37

getting at least three, not three

20:40

more, but at least three total

20:42

Super Bowls. And I'm willing to put my money

20:45

wearing my mouth because you got a crazy prediction.

20:47

I'm not even gonna spoil it. You go

20:49

ahead and share that lunatic prediction

20:53

that you made in the pre show meeting. I'll

20:55

give you his all of his name of some

20:57

really great quarterback to the no

21:00

no we're talking about on

21:03

let me get out when the one that's as

21:05

good as my whole horner let me know quarterbacks,

21:07

well, I don't know, he's only played a couple of years. We

21:09

gotta wait, who's done what he's done? Gotta

21:11

see, we gotta see that. But the bottom

21:13

line, quarterbacks with one or less Super

21:15

Bowl right wins Phil

21:18

Simms, Aaron Rodgers, Dwell

21:22

Wilson. Because this qualify.

21:25

Why are you actually started with Phil

21:27

Simms. I'm just giving you belong

21:30

in the same thing, and I give you the name Patrick

21:32

Mahomes. After he won his first people

21:35

thought they were gonna war, and they didn't

21:37

think he wasn't Russell Wilson

21:39

for US as great as Russell Wilson is.

21:41

He's waiting for his second? What about

21:44

Russell Wilson, He's still waiting for his second?

21:46

How about Brett Farr? For all the

21:48

touchdowns and interceptions, he threw a wall

21:51

of matter.

21:53

Remember the greatest show on Turf? They couldn't

21:56

be stopped the Rams. You remember that they

21:58

won another Super Bowl? No? They? Johnny

22:00

United is Joe Namath, Dan Marino

22:03

never won show the four straight

22:05

Super Bowls he won zero? He

22:07

went the fourth straight Dan fouls

22:10

Air Correlle with the Chargers zero

22:13

war. What is the having to do with the price

22:16

of he in China? Can I talk?

22:18

Should I just start bringing up? When

22:21

bring up something relevant? One of these guys

22:24

have to do with Pat Mahons. The point

22:26

is that's why Fox Bet only has

22:28

it at one and a half, because it's so

22:30

hard to win multiple Chris. It

22:32

took even when Peyton Manning

22:35

for all the Super Bowl mv all the MVPs

22:38

and all the yards and touchdowns, it

22:40

took a super defense to win

22:42

him his second. He almost went a whole

22:44

career with just one, and he

22:47

beat the lame Chicago

22:49

Bears for the one in Indianapolis,

22:51

and then the defense got him the second Super

22:53

Bowl and even uh, Eli Manning,

22:56

he's got two championships. It is

22:58

very very real. Really, it's

23:01

very hard. Now, Eli Manning is in

23:03

the same sentence as Pat Mahomes stop it

23:06

and stop it hard to win multiple

23:08

Super Bowls. It's not as easy as you make it out.

23:10

I know it's not easy the case. I know it's

23:13

not easy. But this kid

23:17

Bowl. We have not seen many

23:19

like this kid, right, we can count

23:22

on one hand how many

23:24

we've seen like this kid and still

23:26

have a couple of fingers left over. You know

23:28

that, And you're right, it's not hard.

23:30

It's not easy. I'm not saying it's

23:33

easy. But half the guys

23:35

you name don't even deserve and the same to

23:37

be in the same paragraph, but

23:40

on Super Bowls or not. Warren

23:42

Moon was he a great quarterback? Yes he

23:44

was great, but he wasn't as good as

23:48

that's irrelevant. We're talking about Patrick.

23:51

You know what you sound

23:53

and you probably were writing this. You probably

23:56

were writing this. You sound like the

23:58

guys that were killing and Michael

24:01

Jordan before he'd won the championship.

24:03

I knew. I was in high

24:05

school. I was in college watching

24:08

him while you were writing, Oh, he

24:10

can't win. He's just a scorer.

24:13

He's not magic, he's

24:15

not bird, he's George

24:17

Girvin. He didn't have it. He Oh

24:19

and he's a two guard. When is the

24:21

last time a two guard led

24:23

a team to a championship. He

24:26

just puts up numbers. He doesn't

24:28

make his players better. You were writing that, Rob

24:30

Parker, and I was sitting in college

24:33

saying, Jordan is a winner.

24:35

Hey, he will prove you wrong. You

24:39

were too busy fall in your math examine

24:41

high school. You wish high stay.

24:43

I was actually good at math in high school

24:46

pre calculus. Yeah, he was calculus

24:49

that Den Marina after his second

24:51

year in the NFL, everybody thought he

24:53

was to catch me out, that he had

24:55

an a bright future. You know many super Bowls

24:57

he got to after that one, Chris see

25:00

roll, you ever prove my point.

25:02

You're proving my point. My paint is

25:04

you're proving more automatic. Nomes

25:07

has already accomplished more than Dan

25:09

Marino. He went to one Super Bowl

25:11

like Marino, he happened to win it because

25:14

the forty his choke point,

25:16

not ha choked in the fourth quarter. But the bottom

25:18

line remains that that that

25:20

that Dan Marino never got back. And

25:23

Chris, you can see, let's

25:26

cut to the chair. It's over because you're talking

25:29

all loud. You know you you're

25:31

biggest bad Yeah, yeah,

25:33

you're saying that. You're saying

25:36

that. But let's put our money

25:38

where our mouth is. A

25:40

pair of Jordan's. That's

25:43

right, I'm ready now, a

25:46

pair of Jordan's.

25:48

That Pat Mahomes wins another super

25:50

Bowl he has because you're saying he

25:53

has that wis not

25:56

not win the best super Bowl, No,

25:58

the bettest three. That's what you said, he's gonna

26:01

win at least read that.

26:03

I said, he wins up. Chris,

26:05

know that at least three. Let me finish.

26:08

I said, he wins two more. You

26:10

said he wins no more. No, so we'll

26:13

split it and it's in the middle. No,

26:15

Now, you know I would leave you to pick. Now. I want

26:17

you to believe I'm sticking

26:20

my dad.

26:24

Eli man, what are you ruin?

26:28

A Brett father? You were very

26:30

rogers. What aren't you afraid

26:32

of Robe? I said, we revert,

26:35

We'll bring Rod, We'll

26:38

split it in the middle.

26:40

Here. You know whatever you know what we're

26:42

gonna have all fans. We're gonna ask the

26:45

call. Hold on, I watch you. Should the bat be two

26:47

super Bowls? No? The mirror or join

26:49

bad zero? Ain't nothing that Now

26:52

you say I'm gonna win a nothing rich here's

26:54

the other. Did you not say that? Did we

26:56

better about the touchdowns? After? What's that

26:58

got to do with the bat? He had chart

27:00

it four? Don't irrelevant

27:03

stuff? I was right. I told DoD

27:05

bringing up irrelevant stuff that

27:07

he was gonna have forty. It

27:10

is fair, Rob, I says, yes

27:14

that more than that. Let's finished. I

27:16

said, I said he's gonna win two

27:19

more. At least you said

27:21

you said he's not gonna win anymore.

27:24

So let's meet in the middle, which

27:26

is one mottle because you're scared.

27:29

Don't tell me your chest is out. Your

27:31

chestics actually invented it, George,

27:33

You yet base, don't

27:34

you have points? Because

27:36

all I hear you or trust they No, No, you

27:40

say you don't want it?

27:42

False bravado, no fo. Fox

27:59

28:01

28:04

Harris Junior, Chris, Welcome

28:06

to the Eye Couple. What's up? What's

28:09

up? My boys? How yu doing? We are

28:11

great man, It's great to have you on. And

28:13

you wrote a tremendous

28:16

article in our column

28:18

maybe I should call it on the Players

28:20

Tribune, and it was called a

28:22

letter to my Black daughters. Now

28:24

you have four daughters. Tell us

28:26

about the article and what

28:28

provoked you to write it. Yeah,

28:31

I just knew it was a time of a

28:34

time. I just to talk about the race and talk

28:36

about what black people are going through. They're

28:40

in our time period here, and I just thought,

28:42

for me, my worries

28:44

are my children and how

28:46

they're gonna grow up, the life

28:50

that they have to grow up as being a black woman, and

28:52

the challenges and the setbacks that they're all have

28:54

to face and be able to overcome. So I

28:56

just wanted to just really share my feelings

28:59

and how I felt during the situation. What

29:02

do you make of the movement and what's

29:04

happened in the country. So much has happened

29:07

to see so many young people out in the

29:09

street, a black, white,

29:11

Asian, you

29:13

know, Mormons, I mean,

29:16

just all kinds of people out there trying

29:18

to make some change. We're seeing in

29:20

the sports world. Who would have thought

29:22

Washington people have been trying to get

29:24

the National Football Leagues

29:26

Washington franchise to change that nickname

29:28

forever. It's gonna happen. Statues

29:31

are coming down all over. Uncle

29:33

Ben's out of work, and aren't Jemima's

29:36

out of work? I mean, when you see all this going

29:38

on, what do you make

29:40

of this? Yeah? But me, it

29:43

is a lot going on. And and

29:45

that's why I just sit

29:47

back and just really learn

29:49

who I am, sit back and read, and sit

29:51

back and just read the Bible

29:54

and learn about Jesus.

29:56

And that's what I've just been doing, man, just trying to

29:58

study and and just sit back and

30:00

trying to figure out what is

30:02

what is God trying to tell us there in the time, and

30:05

what's the warning? And that's

30:07

what I've been doing. That's what I've been just trying to tell my

30:09

people is just I know, it's a big distraction,

30:12

that could be a distractions and

30:13

uh, and we all lives matter. We

30:16

know of course, the black lives have definitely been through a

30:18

live. But the main thing is

30:20

because we don't know who we are, we don't know where we come

30:22

from. We got to go back and really

30:24

research ourselves and our families and really

30:26

see where we come from. Well,

30:29

that's a great way to spend your time, for sure,

30:31

brother, especially during this pandemic.

30:33

Now you got four dolls. I had two daughters

30:35

there. I still have two dollars. But they graduated

30:38

from college here twenty two. And

30:41

I loved, like I said, your article was

30:43

just talking about to them about you know,

30:45

stuff that they may face unfortunately

30:48

as black children, black women,

30:51

black young ladies growing up. How

30:53

will you Because I walked

30:56

this line too. I wanted to teach

30:58

my daughters their history

31:00

and about being proud to be African

31:02

American and so on and so forth. But

31:04

I didn't want them to grow up feeling

31:07

like victims. I didn't want

31:09

them to grow up like feeling like there's

31:11

danger at every corner, you know, every

31:13

turn. So how do you walk? How do you

31:16

feel like you walk that fine line? Or you will

31:18

walk that fine line with your daughters

31:20

and letting them know what's out there, but

31:22

empowering them so they don't feel like victims

31:25

and have a victim mentality. Oh

31:27

yeah, that's what I mean. That's the main thing I preach is always

31:30

to my girls to be strong, your strong women.

31:32

Uh oh you come

31:35

with great power just like just like me. And

31:37

uh and really just being smart.

31:39

Man. You gotta tell you, you gotta tell your women and your girls.

31:42

Hey, you gotta go get gas the end of day when

31:44

you're out. Just just different

31:46

specifics of what you gotta do to be careful

31:48

as a woman. Just know you're surroundings, know who you're

31:50

with, because that's the type of thing you gotta

31:53

be creful of that. You gotta be mindful of your surroundings

31:55

now, so just takeing them the whole game.

31:57

Man, And um, that's that's what we gotta

31:59

do. I'm pretty sure you already know. Oh

32:01

yeah, man, yeah, I can't imagine

32:04

being but having him be young as yours again,

32:06

but definitely be keep you in prayer,

32:08

Bro and Chris.

32:10

Let's switch to the football

32:13

field and Anthony Lynn

32:15

at one point a few weeks

32:17

ago talked about Colin Kaepernick and

32:19

that he would fit with the Chargers

32:22

and what you guys do offensively and

32:25

did you hear those comments? And what do you think

32:28

the idea of maybe adding a Colin Kaepernick

32:30

and give him an opportunity to play

32:33

again in the National Football League. And should

32:35

he get that, yeah, I mean

32:37

if it was a situation where he's

32:39

already been on the team or whatever something like that,

32:42

but uh, it's this

32:44

situation. Being in the COVID nineteen,

32:47

I think they're comfortable with Tyran, comfortable

32:50

with bringing along

32:52

the rookie. Um, it would be hard for him

32:54

to make the team just being real, just under these situations,

32:57

so it had to be a perfect fit. Of

32:59

course, I hope that he gets another chance.

33:01

He definitely deserves it. But it

33:03

got to be the perfect fit. Since we're gonna

33:05

do this situation, we're not gonna

33:08

have a lot of time to work together and

33:10

for the season, so it's just a different type of year.

33:13

Chris Um Patrick Mahomes

33:15

just signed, as you know, the ten years, five

33:18

hundred and three million dollars deal,

33:23

and uh, and I

33:26

don't worry about rob Um. I

33:28

know you you're obviously an opponent. You're

33:31

trying to beat him, of course, but you're

33:33

you've played nine years already. You won't be

33:35

around for his whole career, that whole contract,

33:38

by the end of it. If he plays the

33:40

next twelve years in Kansas

33:42

City, what would you how

33:44

many super Bowls do you think he'll

33:46

win? Really? Really, when you relax,

33:49

Rock, how many super Bowls would you think

33:51

he'll win before the end

33:53

of that contract? Oh, I'll give

33:55

him, give him. I give him three three

33:58

more or three total? I get

34:00

them three more? Wow? So four total?

34:03

There you go. And Chris, Look,

34:08

I'm not gonna say they're not getting them all in the

34:10

road, but they spread out. He's

34:13

you look, you've played, I mean, you faced

34:15

you know, all the best quarterbacks of the era.

34:18

Where does he stack up? I know he's young. I'm not

34:20

saying he's already in all time great

34:23

but obviously he's got that potential. But where

34:25

does he kind of stack up compared

34:27

to what you've faced in your career?

34:31

Man? Tom Brady's always gonna be the go to

34:33

me man, just the way he

34:35

he works with way lesser talented players

34:37

than my Homes has, you know, other than

34:39

other than Gronk or when he had Randy.

34:42

But you gotta be you gotta keep it real, you gotta

34:44

keep it one hundred. My Homes got a whole roster of

34:47

athletes of a full track team, you know,

34:50

that can all make plays. They can spread it, spread

34:52

it around through probably a good one

34:54

through six players. You know, I don't

34:56

think Brady ever had that talent. But with

34:59

the talent that my home, this guy that's gonna be he

35:01

should be able to pass Brady uh

35:03

Man and Drew Brees and all the records that they

35:05

have. M he

35:08

got the weapons there. Yeah, no, he does.

35:11

I think robbers

35:13

stunned. I

35:15

just know. I'm just I'm not one of those

35:17

guys. We've We've heard a lot, There's been a lot

35:20

of great quarterbacks come along. It ain't

35:22

as easy as people think it is. Chris thinks

35:24

he's gonna win, you know, in

35:27

the NFL. In the NFL, we've seen

35:29

great quarterbacks. It's hard to win. And

35:32

Tom Brady and the Patriots went ten years

35:34

without winning a Super Bowl and people

35:37

forget about that. It ain't that you

35:39

don't forget about and Chris. There's

35:41

a lot of goods young quarterbacks around

35:43

as well, Lamar Jackson,

35:46

DeShawn Watson. I mean, question,

35:48

there's a lot, there's a lot of am I right, this is

35:50

a lot of you. I mean, there

35:52

is a lot of great quarterbacks, but they don't have the weapons

35:55

that my Homes has. So, um,

35:57

you can find a lot of a lot of teams do got some couple

35:59

of webs. But I mean with

36:02

the amount of AMMO that my

36:04

Homes has for his for his career, if they're

36:06

able to keep them for that for

36:08

that period, um uh, he definitely

36:11

has more weapons than all those other quarterbacks. Chris.

36:13

Last thing before we let you go, you

36:15

mentioned Tom Brady and that you're

36:18

right. I mean, he hasn't had a ton of weapons outside

36:20

of Gronk and you know, a couple a few years with

36:22

Randy. But now in Tampa

36:24

Bay, he's got some weapons. Now he's older.

36:27

What do you expect from him now that he

36:29

this year, now that he really got some weapons

36:32

from tight ends to receivers to throw too.

36:35

I think he definitely has a bounce back yearm

36:38

Just where do you get a new start? Like me? Just

36:41

feel refreshed, man, He just um,

36:43

just have a clear mind of peace. So I appreciate

36:46

he feels the same way as me, and

36:48

he's probably excited. So I expect him to have a bounce

36:50

back year and especially

36:52

with the weapons that he has. Uh might

36:55

see him definitely having a good year, especially

36:57

Mike Evans. That's Chris Harris

36:59

Junior. That they won't make the playoffs.

37:01

Remember I told you this, Chris, that Tom

37:04

Brady and the and the Bucks will go. This will

37:06

be year thirteen with no playoffs.

37:09

Hey man, y'all just don't slip on us. Man, we're

37:11

coming yeah, yea, all right, So

37:14

I mean y'a already. Yeah, we

37:16

know you got the defense, but y'all

37:18

got they gotta put some points,

37:22

all right, all right, all right, hey

37:24

y'all two years ago, y'all area to catch me out

37:27

to use Rod Parker's frame. So we'll see

37:29

if y'all y'all have a bounce back year in the new

37:32

stadium now to be good. Oh

37:34

yeah, that's what we're going for. Man. All right,

37:36

all right, brother, good luck and stay in that word. Man.

37:39

Oh yeah, you know I woke, Chris. I'm one of the

37:41

ones that woke out here, all right, Love

37:43

you, love you all

37:46

right. Be sure to catch live editions of The
