Hi welcome to The Online Marketing Show

Today I want to address a question I get really often and that question is... Should I buy LeadPages or OptimizePress 2.0?

When I’m asked this question, the person asking is usually looking it at it from a lead generation point of view and building building opt-in pages easily.

However these two tools are very different in many ways. Some of the differences between the two tools are so fundamental that in many ways we are comparing apples to oranges, despite their many similarities.

Yes they are both great for lead generation. Yes the are both quick and easy to use. But their are still lots of differences so I quickly want to summarize how they are similar and how they are different.

As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of both tools and they are both good for different purposes and reasons. The good thing is between both tools you should be pretty much 100% covered. Where one is weak the other is usually strong and so I have found that between the two of them, even a technical dunce like me can create any kind of page I want.

A quick summary of each would be...

Leadpages

* Huge variety of page types - Sales pages, squeeze pages, launch funnel pages, google hangout pages, webinar registration pages, webinar replay pages, autoresponder content pages, video background pages, one time offer pages, upsell pages, podcast pages, youtube pages, thank you pages, coming soon pages, sold out pages, 404 pages, live streaming pages and a bunch more! They update with new ones all the time too

* Leadpages integrates with all the big autoresponders as does OptimizePress.

* All pages can be used as a Facebook tab (and also a new feature allows you to collect the opt-in using Facebook connect, and Facebook users emails generally tend to be their best email)

OptimizePress does not allow you to publish to a facebook tab

* Leadpages can be published on your wordpress blog using their simple to use plugin or you can even host your pages on your own server.

* If you do not have hosting you can even host your pages on LeadPages own servers! You don’t even need your own website. They simply provide you with a URL and the page is ready. OptimizePress does not offer this.

* All pages are mobile responsive

* They have a feature called "leadboxes" which can make clickable links turn into opt-in forms

* They have a new feature called “leadlinks” which allows people to join a list simply by clicking a link. Good for joint ventures or affiliate stuff

* They have a new "auto-fill" fill feature for their opt-in forms which pre-populate the users information so that they don't have to keep it filling their details in time and time again. Their info is already in the opt-in form and they just click submit, it’s very frictionless.

* Pages can be duplicated

* LeadPages also has analytics and split testing built in, OptimizePress does not, however you can always use 3rd party tools to accomplish that but it isn’t built in.

* They also have a digital asset delivery feature which let’s you give away your lead magnet whether its a video, PDF or MP3 and that can be put on your thank you page and then downloaded by your new subscriber and they will also be added to the email list of your choice.

* I have not yet come across any bugs or technical issues with LeadPages. I know that they have had a few issues but I never been personally affected by any of them and they a very quick to hold up their hands and admit there’s a fault and warn all users about it on their main dashboard page when you login.

* With Leadpages you can pay monthly or get up to 40% off by paying annually. It’s recurring billing but still such good value for money.

Disadvantage - My only wish for lead pages is that some of the templates were a bit more flexible in regards to adding new elements and allow for complete customization.

OptimizePress 2.0

OptimizePress has a variety of pages - sales pages, squeeze pages, webinar registration pages and launch funnel pages. Lot's of page templates but no where near as many as leadpages

* OptimizePress can be used to create entire websites (Leadpages is not really designed or suited for this purpose IMO)

* All pages are mobile ready

* Has membership site plug-in and can create password protected members sites. LeadPages does not offer this.

* Can be used to make blogs, again LeadPages is not really designed for this purpose but OptimizePress let’s you do it.

* One really great thing is that every single page and element is totally customizable (which as I mentioned is not the case with leadpages) They do have templates but those templates can be used as a main framework but then changed as much as you like or you can even start with a blank page and make your page from scratch

* There are over 40 elements in OptimizePress and can be used in any combination on any page - columns, rows, dividers, navigation menus, progress bars, tour elements, arrows, bullets, buttons, calendars, count down timers, johnson boxes, testimonial boxes, guarantee boxes, search boxes, opt-in boxes, order boxes, Q&A boxes, pricing tables, headlines, audio players, video players, images, comment sections and more.

* Pages can be cloned

* Elements and rows within pages can also be cloned and then used on other pages

* OptimizePress is a one time fee, you can get unlimited licenses for personal use for under $300, it’s incredible.

*

*Major disadvantage - OptimizePress 2.0 had a slow start. When they first launched they had some bugs and this led to lot’s of people have had issues with support taking a long time to answer my tickets because they got swamped with support tickets. I was personally affected by this as were many other people and it’s been quite well documented all over the forums and social media. However I still love optimizepress 2.0, why? Because they seem to have fixed most of these issues now, ironed out all the bugs and I have been using the tools for months without any problems at all. Also because of less issues with the software, the volume of support tickets is lower meaning that their response time is now dramatically faster. So ignore what you read on the internet about optimize press 2.0, it was true when they first launched but it isn’t true now, they’ve solved the issues and they continue to make big strides forward.

In summary, I would say that you should have both tools because between the two of them you will be covering all bases. Between the two of them there aren’t many lead capturing pages or websites that you can’t create.

If you are choosing between one or the other, decide what features are most important to your project and then see which tool ticks the most boxes or ticks the really crucial boxes for your project. And don’t hesitate to invest. Both of these tools have paid for themselves many times over for me, many, many times over. A high converting sales page, a high converting squeeze page, a high converting funnel, a high converting webinar, a good blog, a good facebook page, any one of those things can transform a business and make a lot of money for you.

It has for me, it has for my clients. I love both tools and I use them every single day.

I’ll see you next time
