0:27

Amy Wells, I'm Mike Keith the

0:29

Thanksgiving edition of the OTP. I'm

0:32

very thankful to be here. I'm very thankful

0:34

for Farm Bureau Health Plans. Yeah, I'm very

0:36

thankful to be here, and i have a few

0:38

things I want to start off with that. I'm thankful

0:40

about kindnesses from

0:42

the ot people. Yes, first

0:44

of all, total kindnesses

0:46

about our Wednesday night show on

0:49

one oh four five Zone in Nashville

0:52

and also on Titans Radio,

0:55

and that is Titans Tonight with Keith Bullock.

0:57

Yes, for receive so many nice comments

1:00

about that show, and it is

1:02

one of our favorites too. It's a show

1:04

that we really like doing. It

1:06

goes so fast because

1:08

the conversation with Keith and with Rett

1:11

Brian and with yourself, and I'm

1:13

trying to stir it a little bit in and out of breaks

1:16

and whatever. But it is a really enjoyable

1:18

radio show. And just been made

1:20

aware from several people, just sort

1:22

of all at once how much

1:24

they enjoy listening to the show. So very thankful

1:27

for that, to the OT people for being

1:29

a part of that at six o'clock on Wednesday

1:32

nights at six Central Wednesday nights. It's

1:34

on one oh four five the Zone in Nashville,

1:36

and some Titans radio stations

1:38

carry it around the region. I don't know

1:40

how many for sure, but thank you for that. That is

1:43

very nice to hear. That is it's my favorite

1:45

part of the week is doing that show. It's been

1:47

so much fun to do with of

1:49

course you and Keith Bullock and Rett Brian and

1:52

you know, a good radio show as a broadcaster,

1:55

when you're in the flow of talking about

1:58

something, you realize, oh shoot, we haven't

2:00

taken a break, right, Oh no, And

2:02

so then towards the end of the show you're trying to get

2:05

all the breaks in and that's when

2:07

you know things are going really well.

2:09

And I think I too,

2:11

have received a lot of good comments about

2:13

some of the topics that we've been able to discuss,

2:15

and just some of the conversation

2:18

is so good well. Keith is

2:20

so engaged, and I appreciate

2:23

his perspective. I appreciate the way

2:26

that he approaches it as a broadcaster,

2:28

and he's gotten better at that over the years, especially

2:31

now he's doing some TSU games on

2:33

television. But he understands how

2:35

the flow works, kind of like Dave McGinnis

2:38

does with us on Titan's Radio. The former

2:40

players and coaches who get on radio and

2:42

television and take the time to

2:44

figure out how it all works are

2:47

the ones who become good at it. Yeah, Oh,

2:49

absolutely, Keith has done that. The

2:51

other thing he does well too, is he's

2:54

very interested in your opinion. He's very

2:56

interested in my opinion. He's very interested

2:58

in Rhet's opinion. And because of that, even

3:01

though we're really not peers with him, I

3:03

mean, he's mister Monday Night, right, yea,

3:05

Ebbie. He's the leading tackler in the Titans,

3:08

part of a portion of our franchise's history,

3:10

and yet he treats us like peers, and

3:12

so I think it just makes for fascinating

3:14

conversation and I really enjoy it.

3:17

Last week, the discussion

3:19

about the Titans fan base

3:22

and the way the Titans fan base at

3:24

Nissan Stadium loves defense

3:27

and seems to be at their best

3:30

for our defense and always have. And

3:32

your comment, which might have been the best comment

3:35

in the history of the show for explaining

3:37

why our fan base

3:41

loves defense so much, the

3:44

fact that you said it's a very in tune

3:46

football crowd. They are football savvy.

3:48

Yeah, we have an incredibly

3:51

intelligent football wise fan

3:54

base and everything wise.

3:56

You're all very smart people, But our fans

3:58

know this game, and traveling

4:01

around to other stadiums, we

4:04

have the unique opportunity of getting to know a

4:06

lot of different fan bases, and

4:08

there are some that are not in tune

4:10

to the game and the intricacies

4:12

of it the way the Titans fans are right

4:14

because this is football country. This

4:17

is what we do. We know football down here,

4:19

and it's so refreshing

4:21

to be able to

4:24

be around a fan base where you

4:26

don't have to tell them on the jumbo trum what

4:28

to do. You don't have to explain

4:31

to them why screaming and yelling

4:33

at a certain part isn't a big deal, or

4:35

why being loud really is

4:37

helpful. I mean, how many times

4:39

in the history of this

4:41

Titans team, especially in the recent history,

4:44

have we had multiple

4:47

penalties that were because of the crowd

4:49

that helped this team. And

4:52

I think that that is something that comes with

4:55

a fan base that knows

4:57

what they're doing right and knows this game.

5:00

It's like if you go to any sort

5:02

of performance, whether it's a Broadway

5:04

play or a concert or any

5:06

any sort of performance, if

5:09

the crowd knows when to

5:11

cheer and what to cheer

5:13

for and cheers most

5:16

loudly at the completely appropriate

5:19

moment, that's a crowd that's

5:21

in tune. This crowd gets defense,

5:23

yep. And I love that about

5:26

the ot people and the people at nisan

5:28

Steadium. I think that's what I love most

5:30

about Titans fans is they love defense.

5:33

And I thought Keith Bullock, in discussing

5:35

it last week, was

5:37

going to get emotional because he talked

5:40

about the fact that that's what he misses the

5:42

most about playing. Yeah, he

5:44

misses that feeling that

5:46

you get when you're on

5:49

the field and everybody comes to their

5:51

feet to help the defense, or the defense gets

5:53

an important three and out and the

5:55

people that's the loud They

5:57

almost cheer more loudly for that than they do a

5:59

touchdown, yeah, which is just awesome.

6:01

So it was a great discussion. It's

6:04

usually a very good discussion that

6:06

his discussion about Jeff Saturday last week

6:08

and about the fact that had he been called the

6:10

same way and asked, do

6:13

you want to be the head coach as

6:15

a former player with as much credibility

6:17

as Jeff Saturday has, what he would

6:20

have said and I just thought it was fascinating. So if

6:22

you get a chance to listen, please do and

6:24

also send us your questions. Hashtag

6:26

Titans tonight. Keith Bullock

6:29

answers great questions and our

6:31

listenership gives us the

6:34

best topics to go off, So

6:36

hashtag Titans tonight. Hit it and get it. Yeah,

6:38

hit it and get it. Okay. The

6:41

second thing, speaking of

6:43

thank you's, we did Titans

6:45

All Access last week after

6:49

the Green Bay game and

6:52

a peek behind the Curtain, a breakdown of the fourth

6:54

Wall. That show had to be done

6:56

before we left and went to Green Bay, right, Yes,

6:59

And the reason is because

7:01

that show has to be distributed

7:04

Friday morning very early so it can be

7:06

closed captioned, right, And that's just something

7:09

you legally have to do. So because

7:12

it was a road game, because we didn't know what the

7:14

weather was going to be like in Green Bay. You're

7:16

afraid of the plane freezing. We

7:18

couldn't come back in and just tape something, so we had

7:20

to do it beforehand. Well, we did a show where

7:23

we tried to answer twenty three

7:25

of your most common questions about the new

7:27

stadium, and people have been

7:29

very kind about it. Had somebody

7:31

stopped me yesterday, it'd say I really enjoyed

7:34

that. There were some things and this was somebody

7:36

knowledgeable. There were some things that I

7:38

wasn't one hundred percent sure of, and

7:41

so we've gotten a lot of nice comments on that. And

7:44

if you watch Titans All Access, it

7:46

is a twenty year old show that we've we've

7:48

done for twenty years. Yeah, that's

7:51

pretty good. But it's

7:53

on not just on the Sinclair

7:55

stations in Nashville, but it's

7:58

also on in Knocksville

8:00

and Chattanooga and all

8:02

over the region in Memphis and Jackson

8:05

and in Kentucky

8:07

and Alabama. And it's

8:09

really been a fun show to do, and that

8:11

one in particular, I thought was especially good.

8:13

And so thank you for the kind words

8:15

about that. As people continue to

8:18

be fascinated by the

8:20

thoughts of the new state, well it's a fascinating

8:22

thing. Mike keith I mean, the possibilities are

8:25

endless. It's so exciting for not

8:27

only the Titans organization, but for the

8:29

city as a whole, and so to

8:31

be able to provide as

8:34

much clarity as we can as

8:36

this process is going through and really answer

8:39

as many questions as we can't. I mean, that's

8:41

what we want to do. That's the whole point.

8:45

We want people to be excited, but we also

8:47

want them to be informed about where

8:49

the team is and how this is going to look and

8:51

what we've got going on. And so I

8:54

was really excited to be able to do that

8:56

show. And it's

8:58

still the number one thing that people start

9:01

me and ask me about is the stadium. Well,

9:03

it's like, where's it gonna be, right, you know,

9:05

So we shot it in the parking

9:07

lots in front of the stadium, closest

9:09

to the interstate where it's going to be. Now, we

9:12

don't know if we were standing on the exact spot

9:15

in the park. We

9:17

can't swear to it. I mean we could have,

9:20

but that would have been misleading. Yes, But

9:23

but the whole thing just kind of giving you a

9:25

general picture as we hopefully

9:28

are moving toward the finish line of getting

9:30

final approval. And being able to

9:32

move forward because there are

9:34

so many exciting things

9:37

that continue to come out about

9:39

possibilities. And you know, we're talking about

9:41

our crowd and how great they

9:43

are with defense, and can you imagine

9:45

what they're going to be like with that roof? Well,

9:47

I mean even John Robinson on the show he

9:50

mentioned it, and I mean, sound

9:52

has always been something that has been so

9:55

useful for the Tennessee

9:57

Titans at Nissan Stadium. It's a loud stadium

10:00

on stadium. And here's what's funny. So when we first started

10:02

in ninety nine, the whole league

10:05

claimed that we were pumping in crowd noise. Really,

10:08

oh yeah, oh that was a thing the Rams.

10:10

The Rams said it, and several other teams did.

10:13

And here's the reason, because

10:16

they there was never football in the SEC

10:18

part of the country outside of in New Orleans,

10:21

um, but there had

10:23

never been anything like this

10:26

in this part of the world, and

10:28

so they had not seen this

10:31

kind of fan base in

10:34

many places in the NFL. So it of course

10:36

had to be pumped in crowd noise. Right,

10:39

Well, I mean it's not right,

10:42

it's not. It wasn't it isn't.

10:45

But can you imagine putting a lid on that.

10:47

Oh yeah, oh, the way that sound is going to

10:49

reverber it, It's going to be loud,

10:52

loud. So thank you for the kind words and

10:54

about Titans all Access and for and

10:56

about Titans tonight, also

10:59

to the OTP. But we're thankful for you

11:01

for keeping this podcast going

11:03

the way that you have to our sponsor, Farm

11:05

Bureau Health Plans, who does a

11:07

phenomenal job of supporting

11:10

us in so many different things. One

11:12

other thing I want to mention that Farm Bureau Health Plans

11:15

sponsors. They

11:17

put a camera in the booth in front of

11:19

me. Did did

11:22

I know that? Oh my yeah,

11:24

it's my favorite part of the week. Yeah.

11:26

So then they show it back on social

11:29

media, a big play from

11:31

the game, and then

11:33

what I did and said, and it's I

11:36

think it's great, it's often quite

11:38

embarrassing. Well, but here's the thing, Okay,

11:41

I don't think you realize how

11:44

excited your enthusiasm makes

11:46

other people. You watch

11:49

the game, and the way that

11:51

you are watching and calling and interacting

11:54

with the game is the same

11:56

way that everybody else is

11:58

interacting with the game. And

12:00

so to see the voice

12:02

that everybody hears in their head when they're

12:05

watching Titans football. I mean even

12:07

if you're if you're just watching a

12:09

replet like on the news or something and

12:11

they don't have the play by play, everybody

12:14

hears your voice in their head when they

12:16

watch. It sounds like a psychological

12:18

problem. Well, I mean yeah, mainly for

12:20

me, um, But when

12:22

you see you and that you're

12:24

actually as excited as you sound,

12:27

I think it makes people really happy

12:29

that it's not fake, that you are genuinely

12:32

that exciting. Yeah. But unless it was you,

12:34

well yeah, well

12:37

it is horrified. Yeah, but it's because it's like

12:39

I did not just do that. You

12:41

know, you're that's what you're thinking this

12:43

week, however, is so good. Lucas

12:46

Panzeka stole

12:48

the show. Stole the show and help

12:50

me out. So Lucas

12:53

pan Zeka is. I have known

12:55

him since he was a student at the University of Tennessee.

12:58

I've known him maybe even before that. I can't

13:00

remember when I've I've known him

13:02

since he was a teenager and

13:05

he went to the University of Tennessee.

13:07

He worked at WUTK, the greatest,

13:10

the greatest college radio station

13:12

in America, and has come

13:14

up through the ranks, done a lot of play

13:16

by play. Worked for w dk N and Dixon

13:19

our friends there, longtime Titans

13:21

radio partner, and then it's

13:23

working for one oh four five of the Zone and Lucas

13:26

does our scoreboards and

13:28

listen. He's a really talented young man and

13:31

very proud of what he's been able to do

13:33

and everything. If

13:36

you watched this week's in do

13:38

we call it in the booth? Yes, so we call it

13:40

okay? And it is sponsored by Farm Bureau right,

13:43

Farm Bureau Health Plans. Sure is just making sure

13:45

doing me a solid on that one. Okay, thank you.

13:47

So on the

13:49

jump pass from

13:52

Derreck Henry to Austin Hooper,

13:56

I get a little excited, and

14:00

the reaction would have been as usual,

14:02

quite embarrassing. Yet Lucas

14:05

leaps at the point that Derek

14:08

leaps, I think, and leap is

14:10

really all that? A leap. I don't

14:12

know what it is, but I

14:14

don't think his feet leave the ground. No,

14:17

well it wasn't. It was. Let's

14:20

just put it this way. It took me off the hook. He

14:22

was excited, he was very excited. He

14:24

was excited, and so I

14:27

got to somebody sent it to me and I

14:29

didn't know what it was. Initially,

14:31

I think Brad Willis sent it to me, yes,

14:34

and I didn't know that it was the

14:36

end the booth. And so if

14:39

you get a chance to look at that, highly

14:41

recommend, highly recommend. As

14:43

someone who has a vertical that's about

14:45

two maybe on a

14:48

good day, I don't

14:50

think that's a full jump. Well, let's

14:52

put it this way. He's very talented

14:54

young man. He has a very bright future, not

14:57

install as a shot blocker

15:00

and anything related to basketball at

15:03

at all, all of our social media channels.

15:05

In the booth, I love it so

15:07

hard. Thankful for Lucas pan Zeka's

15:10

lack of jumping. Lucas

15:12

is never going to be in the booth ever again.

15:14

During games. He's going to find a spot in the

15:16

press spot. By the way, Derrick Henry so I

15:19

pulled his stats, his passing

15:21

stats just for fun. Yeah, for a little discussion.

15:23

He counting the postseason touchdown

15:26

passing through six of seven

15:28

for twenty six yards three touchdowns

15:30

along of eight yards.

15:33

His passer rating is one twenty one point

15:35

seven. My man's coming for Tannehill's

15:38

job. Look out. Yeah, but

15:40

here here's what's really impressive. Yeah

15:43

yeah, Jim calling himself a young Peyton Manning.

15:45

I cannot great line, by the

15:47

way, great line, spectacular, spectacular

15:50

line from somebody that you don't expect a

15:53

spectacular line from. He

15:55

doesn't really do line no,

15:58

but he got one there. I'm

16:00

um founded. We have not heard from Peyton Manning about

16:02

this hit. I'm sure he

16:04

has heard from Peyton Manning about this. I

16:07

don't know, really, I don't know, because

16:09

Peyton usually Peyton loves that sort

16:11

of stuff, especially from a guy like Derek,

16:13

who I know, just having known him

16:15

for a long time, he has so much

16:17

respect for a Derrick Henry. Yeah, first

16:19

of all, he's an sec guy, like his dad

16:22

was, and like Peyton is, and like his brother,

16:25

and you know, all of those sorts

16:27

of things. And so that's a big deal

16:29

to Peyton. And

16:32

the fact that that Derek would have dropped

16:34

his name instead of somebody else, I bet makes

16:36

him very happy. I bet we'll probably

16:39

see some sort of commercial. Yeah,

16:41

they'll both

16:43

of them will probably make a lot of money off

16:45

that. But I mean, i'd say good for them. I

16:47

don't think there are two faces that you

16:49

see more on your television right now

16:52

than Derrick Henry and Peyton Manning. You

16:54

are seeing a lot of Derek Henry. I don't know about

16:56

the whole. I mean, Peyton Manning is everywhere.

16:59

Peyton Manning is that freewere Omaha

17:01

Productions is absolutely

17:04

killing it. I thought he did a good job on the CMAS

17:06

with Luke Bran. Yeah, yes, I thought

17:08

that. I watched that show stem

17:11

to Stern. I mean I really did. I thought

17:13

it was great, which is why I'm so excited about Lanny

17:15

Wilson doing halftime at the game

17:17

on Sunday at Nissan Stadium, because she had such

17:19

a big night at that. Yeah. I'm

17:21

gonna be honest, I'm not one for award shows.

17:23

Doesn't really do it for me. Usually I

17:26

don't either, But we started watching it and

17:28

then we didn't stop all the way

17:30

through. I'm impressed by you. Well, it was

17:32

just I thought it was their best show that

17:35

I've seen in forever for everything

17:37

that they had. First of all, Chris Stapleton, yes,

17:39

have him on, Yes, please

17:43

had. Patty Loveless was on too, And

17:45

when I was working at w I VK Patty

17:48

Loveless that's in Knoxville, by the way, in Kise.

17:50

You don't know, Patty Loveless was one

17:52

of the biggest female singers in

17:54

country music. She's a little older now, so she doesn't

17:56

do quite as much, you know, in terms

17:59

of the contemporary stuff. But

18:02

what a nice lady, I

18:04

mean, and I mean she was a big deal.

18:06

She and Martina McBride were

18:09

two of the biggest stars then, and I came

18:11

across them both. Susie

18:14

Bogas was another one. I came across

18:16

them both at the radio station. It was quite thrilling

18:18

to be the sports director at the number one

18:20

country station in America because everybody

18:23

came in and that's where I get

18:25

to know Kenny Chesney so well before he was Kenny

18:28

Chesney and so and so forth. And

18:32

it what a nice lady. So

18:34

to see her out there with Chris Stapleton

18:36

and his wife singing, it

18:38

was just fantastic. Sounds great,

18:41

all right. I want to get back to Derrick Henry though. Oh yeah,

18:43

I'm sorry. We're all over the road today, well

18:45

with our thank yous, because we're thank I'm

18:50

so proud of Derrick Henry not only leading

18:52

the league in rushing, but

18:54

he's also averaging eleven point

18:56

one yards per catch. That's

18:59

his best figure since twenty nineteen and

19:01

he works so hard at well. With two

19:03

more catches and eight more yards,

19:06

he will set career highs in

19:09

catches and receiving yards. Wow.

19:12

So I mean that's seven

19:14

games to go. Yeah, And so

19:16

that's been a big factor. Even as people

19:19

try to stymy him, like what

19:21

the Packers did the other night, you

19:23

know, it's like, well, just twenty eight carries

19:25

for eighty seven yards. It's

19:27

like, well, two catches for forty five yards

19:30

is just fine. Because when I talk about

19:32

Derek Henry, I'm not talking about

19:34

rushes. I'm talking about touches. I

19:37

want him touching the ball. He touched the

19:39

ball the other night thirty two times. However

19:42

you can get it however, you can get it to him absolutely,

19:44

So he's

19:47

thrown it well, but he's also caught it well

19:49

this year. What an outstanding weapon

19:51

for someone like Ryan Tannehill. He gives

19:53

you so many options just

19:56

with everything that he's able to do. And again,

19:59

he works so hard at his pass

20:01

catching. And I cannot emphasize

20:03

that enough that it's so good to

20:05

see him having success because

20:07

we see how much he works out. He's got to catch

20:10

one hundred balls a day. Well, he is not a natural

20:12

catcher. No, and he

20:15

was not asked to do that as a younger

20:17

player, and so that is a skill

20:19

he's had to develop. And he didn't

20:22

really know how to run a lot

20:24

of routes. He didn't. They

20:26

didn't do much with him in the screen game

20:28

anywhere. And so that's a timing

20:31

thing. That and Tony Doos does an

20:33

amazing job and the two of them working

20:35

concert. Tony Doos is a running back coach. He

20:38

really does a great job saying, Okay, now

20:40

this is the angle you need to take. This

20:43

is where you need to be when Ryan Tannehill is

20:45

going to deliver the ball. This is what you need to

20:47

be looking for, because

20:50

that is not an I mean, he was just the guy you

20:52

handed the ball to. Right when he was at Alabama.

20:54

He was the guy you handed the ball to. Yep. And

20:56

so you get to the league and you don't know anything

20:58

about that. Yep. That's a problem

21:01

he's had to learn. He's had to learn, but he works

21:03

so hard. You know what else we have to

21:05

learn about what Duncan's new rewards

21:07

program. Duncan rewards

21:11

you can really use, save

21:13

them, stack them, use them however you want. Use

21:16

them to get donuts, free coffee,

21:18

breakfast sandwiches joined

21:21

today on the Duncan app and start saving

21:23

and stacking your way to free Duncan the Duncan

21:26

Rewards program. I could go for a donut

21:28

right now. I'm having Duncan coffee right now.

21:30

Doesn't the donuts sound kind of nice? Duncan

21:33

coffee sounded good this morning? Well, oh,

21:36

bring me in here. Oh, here's another thing that

21:38

we're talking about as I ignore

21:40

that. So have you been getting

21:42

a lot of questions about tickets

21:45

here for the next few weeks? Yeah, because the Titans

21:47

are at home quite a bit. Like for the

21:49

Cincinnati game Sunday, I

21:51

had more people reach out to me about tickets

21:53

because, um, you

21:56

got family in Yeah, and it's

21:58

a good time and the team's good

22:01

and there's some good games. Here's

22:03

what I need to tell you about that from our friend

22:05

Jim Ray, Senior Director of Ticket

22:08

Services. Yes, realistically,

22:10

if you're looking to buy tickets, the

22:13

only game that's left is

22:15

the Houston game on December twenty fourth.

22:18

Interesting, So I'm telling the OT people

22:20

this. So if you go to Tennessee

22:23

Titans dot com backslash

22:25

tickets, you can make a move. You can

22:27

make a move. Yeah, okay, if you've got a

22:29

group and group tickets or something

22:32

that that has been the most awesome thing

22:34

that we have started doing, say in the last five

22:36

years. We didn't do it early on, and

22:39

I wish we had because for

22:42

so many people, like out of town, or

22:45

like your football teams just finished their

22:47

season, or you know, you want to

22:49

you want to bring some a group from church

22:52

or you know whatever. Group

22:55

sales is awesome. They're no more groups

22:57

except for the Houston game. You can

22:59

do a group for the Houston game, the

23:01

family four pack for the Houston

23:04

game. Four tickets, four hot

23:06

dogs, four pretzels, four sodas,

23:08

and access to the Winter Wonderland

23:10

area outside of the stadium. Oh

23:12

that's cool. What is that? I don't know. Why

23:15

have we not been informed? Well, it sounds great,

23:17

though. I bet it's something with coach

23:19

Mack, isn't it. I'm sure it is. I'm

23:21

sure you would you get your picture tank with coach

23:24

Mac. That's why we haven't been included.

23:26

Everything now is about coach Mack. No

23:28

Santa, just Mac. I'm standing there.

23:30

Come here to get your picture made, Come

23:33

your kids. Like what

23:35

he did on the on the Titans Game Day TV

23:37

show on Channel four at

23:39

the last home game. Did you see what he did?

23:42

So we're doing this show on Channel four on Sunday

23:44

mornings at ten thirty. It's really a lot of fun. And

23:49

Coach Mack just starts calling kids

23:51

up for the last segment just to be on the set.

23:55

Come here, Timmy. That's

23:59

really funny. Yeah, it puts the headset on

24:01

them. It's like, no, you need the headset, coach. Yes, we're

24:03

still on talk. Yeah, who

24:05

are you picking in this game? Timmy? You know, I

24:08

mean it's great, that's awesome. It is awesome.

24:10

By the way, if you want to come up to the Wesley Mortgage

24:12

Club, which is on

24:15

the West Side, Yes, come

24:17

on up at ten thirty. I mean, even if you don't

24:19

sit up there, you can. You can just come

24:21

you see the show and

24:23

then head out. You're not gonna hurt anything. Yeah, just

24:26

come on up and be part of the program. WSMV

24:29

four as they now call it, Yes on Sunday

24:31

mornings at ten thirty, which is fun because

24:33

it's the first time we've ever had a show

24:36

on site ninety minutes

24:38

before a game, so, I mean there's plenty

24:40

to talk about. Oh, there's tons to talk about.

24:42

I wish I could go to that show, but I have to be on

24:44

the radio radio. Okay. So

24:46

again, if you're interested in tickets

24:49

the Houston game, Yes,

24:51

the Houston game still available for groups

24:54

the family four pack four tickets for high

24:56

Dogs, for pretzels and four sodas

24:58

and access to coach Max Winner Wonderland

25:00

area outside the stadium. It has

25:02

to be we don't know what that

25:05

is. Probably yeah,

25:07

Tennessee Titans dot com backslash

25:10

tickets. Am I saying that right? Tennessee Titans

25:12

dot com slash slash

25:14

tickets. Yeah, I don't think you have to

25:16

specify. You don't have to backslash. You did for

25:18

a while. Yeah, well you also had to say wwwww,

25:23

we have moved on. Yes, www,

25:26

Tennessee Titans dot com slash

25:29

backslash what at front slash tickets?

25:31

Tennessee Titans dot com slash tickets the

25:33

Houston game, the Houston game,

25:36

and we need you there for that, by the way, because

25:38

you know got to win that. Do you realize

25:40

the Titans magic number to win their

25:42

third straight AFC South is

25:45

four. If the Titans go four and

25:47

three, the rest of the way no matter

25:49

what happens anywhere else

25:51

with Indianapolis or Jacksonville,

25:54

the Titans win the division. Well, that's

25:56

awesome and feels manager. So

25:59

then and I'm not and go through every scenario

26:01

because this is not a visual podcast.

26:03

It'll drive you crazy. Yeah, but then you get into

26:06

combinations of Titans wins

26:08

and Indianapolis losses

26:10

and or Jacksonville losses. I

26:13

mean the total

26:15

is four. Well that's great news.

26:18

So if that's the case. So we were talking

26:20

schedule this week for twenty twenty

26:22

three. Okay, you ready

26:24

for this? Yes, okay, So if the

26:27

Titans do win the division fingers

26:30

crossed. Okay, they know, we

26:32

know we're playing Baltimore at home next

26:34

year. Okay, We're playing Cincinnata

26:37

again at home next year. Okay, Atlanta

26:40

and Carolina at home at

26:43

home along

26:45

with the three AFC South teams.

26:48

Right now, the Titans would play Kansas

26:50

City at home because

26:53

they will play the team that finishes

26:55

in the same place that they finish

26:58

in the AFC West. It's a city

27:00

just in our division. I feel like we play

27:03

them every year. But it's a game. Yeah,

27:05

but still all right, And so the

27:07

away games right now, Cleveland

27:11

Pittsburg, Okay,

27:13

New Orleans, Tampa

27:15

Bay. And right now, you

27:18

would play the same team in the AFC

27:20

East who has

27:22

the like finish as you do. If

27:25

the Titans win the AFC South, the team

27:27

they would play right now would be Miami.

27:30

We would go to Miami. Now that's not

27:32

set because obviously the divisions aren't set.

27:34

So the seventeenth game next year,

27:36

which is a home game for the Titans,

27:39

it's against an NFC West team right

27:42

now, it would be San Francisco. So

27:44

as it stands, right now, home games

27:48

Baltimore, Cincinnati, Atlanta,

27:50

Carolina, Kansas City, San Francisco.

27:53

Away games Cleveland, Pittsburgh,

27:56

New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Miami,

27:58

we would have three Florida games. Well,

28:00

here's the here's what I'm thinking. When

28:03

you read off those roads teams,

28:06

I think restaurants almost immediately,

28:08

Like, where am I going to eat in each of these

28:10

places? Um? Don't

28:13

really, I mean, I guess I'm going to an Applebee's

28:15

or something in Cleveland, Like I don't, I

28:17

don't know. Um, but

28:20

the Florida ones are good, lots of good

28:22

seafood. Well, we found that place

28:24

in Jacksonville, that barbecue

28:26

place. Yeah, It is quite

28:29

delicious, fantastic. Yeah, you're

28:31

gonna go there in January. Yes, it's

28:34

too bad there's not SEC football on that

28:36

day because when we went two years

28:38

ago and things

28:41

were it was still quarantine, but

28:43

it was a little bit better. You could

28:46

you sit outside there. Yeah

28:48

to Florida, well right, but but I mean

28:50

their whole setup is outside, and so we

28:52

could eat outside and watch football.

28:55

We ate there three times, wait

28:58

there for lunch on St. Saturday, for dinner

29:01

on Saturday night, because all we do is watch

29:03

SEC football. And then we

29:05

had a late flight back. So

29:07

after we beat Jacksonville, we drove

29:09

immediately back to the Bearded Pig and

29:12

watched Philadelphia

29:14

play somebody. So we watched the late

29:16

game before we had to go back to the airport. I think our

29:18

flight was like at eight fifty. That's awesome.

29:20

It is fantastic. It's very good. It

29:23

is very good. It is a

29:25

delicious establishment. All

29:27

right. So one more thing we'll

29:29

leave you with before we

29:32

wrap up this edition of the OTP, the

29:34

Thanksgiving edition. Some people

29:36

have asked, why did the Titans have two

29:39

Thursday night games. That's a great question. Now

29:41

there are teams that have two Thursday night

29:43

games, but they'll play like Thanksgiving

29:46

and then they play the next Thursday, so they will

29:49

have had a week in between, right, So

29:51

that's not the end of the world. So

29:53

this year, the new Amazon package

29:56

has fifteen Thursday night

29:59

games. The NFL knew

30:01

they were going to have two teams

30:03

that we're going to have to play two

30:06

short week Thursday games

30:08

each season. The

30:10

owners knew it. They voted on it,

30:12

passed a resolution allowing for

30:15

two teams to play a second

30:17

short week Thursday, which

30:20

obviously puts you at a bit of a disadvantage,

30:23

right. There used to be a rule, it's

30:25

true, where teams could play

30:27

only one short week Thursday

30:29

game per season, but they passed

30:31

a rule that two teams would have to do

30:34

it twice annually

30:36

to make the new streaming deal with Amazon work

30:39

because they're getting paid a gillion.

30:43

Yeah, all right. The

30:45

Titans were one of the teams selected

30:48

for this this year. So here's

30:50

what we know. The Titans won't have to do

30:52

it next year against that schedule we were just talking

30:54

about. That's good news. It is good news.

30:57

We know that we know that they will be

31:00

out of that. You know, may go to

31:02

London may do this, may do that, but

31:04

we know they won't have two Thursdays,

31:07

not two short week Thursdays.

31:09

Okay. Again, you could have a Thursday

31:11

to Thursday. You could have a Thursday to Thursday, okay,

31:14

but you can't have the short week. Now, here's the best

31:16

news about the second

31:19

Thursday. The Titans play

31:21

Houston, for which you can

31:24

still get tickets at Tennessee Titans dot com

31:26

slash tickets. Yes,

31:29

on the twenty fourth of December, Christmas

31:31

Eve. Then they turn around and

31:33

play Dallas on Thursday, the

31:35

twenty ninth at home. Don't

31:38

ask me about tickets for that, but anyway, yeah,

31:41

gone, But that's five days. It's not

31:43

four days. Oh yeah, because it's

31:45

a Saturday. It's a Saturday, okay,

31:48

And one extra day in that scenario

31:51

is huge. Right.

31:55

And here's the other thing too, is

31:57

you know next year we will have a Black Friday

31:59

game. So yes,

32:03

so somebody will go Sunday to Friday

32:05

again. But that's five days. Okay,

32:08

if if the Titans end up

32:10

playing, if we play,

32:12

so say, just for the sake of saying,

32:14

okay, the Titans end up with a Black Friday

32:17

game, will they have then played football on

32:19

every day of the week. No, what

32:22

what day will we have? I don't think we've ever played

32:24

on Wednesday, Wednesday, So we played on a Tuesday,

32:27

Thursday, certainly, a Monday, maybe a Friday,

32:30

Monday, Saturday, Sunday. Okay,

32:32

so Wednesday would be the only open

32:35

day still, Okay, something

32:37

to plan for boys and girls. Yes,

32:40

so we've covered a lot. We've covered

32:43

a lot of ground. And why

32:45

are we not getting deeper into the Cincinnati

32:47

game. Well, because the practice

32:50

week is just starting. Yeah,

32:52

the team practiced yesterday. There

32:54

was no injury report, and people are where's

32:56

the injury report. There's no injury report

32:58

because it's a Tuesday. Yeah, even though it

33:01

feels like a football Wednesday, it

33:03

is still a Tuesday in the week. So

33:05

there will be an injury report on Wednesday.

33:09

There will be an injury report on Thursday,

33:11

in spite of the fact that the team does not practice

33:13

on Thursday. It will be an assumed, it

33:15

will be estimated. That's it's

33:18

an estimated. It's an estimate, yes, and then

33:20

Friday there will be the normal third injury

33:22

report. So we're not delving

33:24

deeply into this week's game

33:27

because we had to record this

33:29

with Thanksgiving being tomorrow, and

33:32

we've only seen the team practice one time,

33:34

right, so you know it could

33:36

be outdated in a big hurry. I

33:39

don't want to do that. I think, you know Vrabel.

33:41

One of the smart things that I think Mike Vrabel

33:43

does is he has started not

33:46

practicing on Thanksgiving Day. Now

33:48

he can do it easily this week because the

33:50

Titans are coming off the many by

33:52

coming in Tuesday, Wednesday,

33:54

and then Friday's fine. They obviously practice

33:56

on Saturday as well. I think it's so

33:58

smart, though. You want to know why. I

34:01

think it's so smart. Tell me why, Mike. Because

34:04

if you're let's say you're one of the older

34:06

guys on the team. Let's say you're twenty

34:08

nine years old, twenty eight, twenty nine years old, you're

34:11

married, You've probably got a kid

34:13

or a couple of kids at this point, you

34:16

got family in town for Thanksgiving.

34:18

You're coming into practice, it's going to be

34:20

a short day. But you're

34:22

being asked when are you going to be home?

34:25

You're being asked, can you stop and pick this

34:27

up? You're see, that's the thing that

34:29

people forget about these guys

34:33

is it's a real life. They have

34:35

a whole life

34:38

the same way as exactly

34:40

like at home, like your husband calls you and

34:42

says, hey, we're gonna do this,

34:44

and hey, we do. I mean, it's it's not

34:46

a it's not a male thing or a female thing.

34:48

It's just a family thing, right,

34:51

which everybody has responsibilities

34:53

around the holidays, And you're trying to get

34:56

to Uncle Bob's on time, and are

34:58

you going to bring what you're supposed to bring? You

35:00

have car loaded, you have car seat, and you

35:02

know, do you have the playpen

35:05

and all the it's just normal. Well,

35:07

now the guys just get the day

35:09

off and they get to be with their family. Do

35:11

what you need to do what you need to do handle

35:13

the day. But that's what I'm saying about Vrabel

35:17

is he understands that real

35:19

life happens, and he

35:21

understands that these guys are grown ups,

35:23

and he treats them like grown ups. And I think that's

35:25

why this team plays so hard for

35:28

him, because he understands

35:31

the extra components

35:34

of what your life is like

35:36

as a player who

35:38

is trying to balance having an actual

35:41

life and doing this job

35:43

that is all consuming. Well, that's it. I

35:45

mean, this is a job and

35:48

for the folks who just watch on

35:50

Sundays or Mondays

35:53

or Thursdays or soon to be Fridays

35:55

any day. You know, you're

35:57

just thinking about the football game, and you're thinking,

35:59

this is like watching the college team or

36:01

whatever. And the college kids

36:04

certainly have to go to class, and they have they

36:06

have lives, you know, other places.

36:08

But these guys have

36:11

families have you know, they're making mortgage

36:13

payments, they're doing you know, they've got

36:15

a flat tire on their car, or

36:17

their security system goes out at home,

36:20

or you know their ac has

36:22

quit on him. I mean, all these things happen. Mike

36:25

tries to take as many distractions

36:27

out off the table as he possibly

36:30

can. And I think, to take

36:32

your point a step further, there

36:34

is a credibility with Vabel

36:37

that he has with these guys because

36:39

of stuff like this. Yeah,

36:42

so when they get on the field, he has

36:44

their attention. When he gets in meetings, he

36:46

has their attention. I think there is a

36:48

total credibility with him as

36:51

the leader. He does a good job of

36:53

managing. This is a time

36:55

where I can have your complete undivided

36:57

attention because I

37:00

am giving I understand

37:03

that your attention needs to be elsewhere. At

37:05

other times I get it, Yeah, and I respect

37:07

that. I get it and I respect it. I respect

37:09

that as him of just somebody watching

37:12

our coach. But I think I think it

37:14

makes a big deal to the players and their families.

37:16

Yeah, oh absolutely. Now I don't know that he'll be

37:18

able to do this every year. Some years

37:20

you may have to practice on Thanksgiving. We're

37:22

going to play on Thanksgiving again at some point

37:24

soon. I mean, it happens. We've

37:27

played on Christmas before, we played on Christmas

37:29

Eve. I mean that comes up in this job.

37:32

But when you have these situations

37:34

where you can you know, he'll

37:37

have all their attention today

37:40

and then off tomorrow, and then he'll have all

37:42

their attention Friday and Saturday. So if

37:45

they win or if they lose, it's not

37:47

going to be because they were thrown

37:50

off. Yeah, you know, I think that's

37:52

a big part of it. Yeah, I just thought i'd cheer that. No,

37:54

I think it's great. I think, I mean personally

37:57

I like it too. Sure, I think

38:00

it's very nice for I mean, because

38:02

it goes beyond just the players

38:04

and the coaches as well. It's the support staff

38:07

because we have to come in on Yeah, it's

38:09

all of the people that are kind of orbiting

38:12

around this team. It's I

38:14

mean the equipment guys and there trainers

38:17

and everybody who is here trying to

38:19

help. It's it's an acknowledgement

38:22

that they all have lives. It's time to wrap

38:24

up this edition of the OTP, presented

38:26

by our friends at Farm Bureau Health Plans. That

38:29

does it for this edition of the OTP, Happy

38:31

Thanksgiving and to the ot people, sincerely,

38:34

thank you for your support of this

38:37

podcast. Of everything that

38:39

we do, we keep

38:41

you in mind, and everything we do we promise

38:43

and we are most thankful for your

38:46

great support of this football team that we hope

38:48

is on its way to its third straight AFC
