If you’re like us, you read the word “aquaponic” and had absolutely no idea what was going on. That’s pretty normal, according to Next Generation Farming co-owner Rachael Lyons. Rachael and her husband, Max, started an aquaponic farm, which uses 🐟fish🐟instead of soil to farm more sustainably. The Baker-area farm is growing rapidly using this method!

Rachael was a 👩‍⚕️nurse before she started her journey into entrepreneurship and 💧🐟🌱aquaponic farming. Her husband, Max, was a 👷construction contractor on Eglin Air Force Base. So how did they change from 🏗️cement and sutures to 🐟fish and 🥬kale?

🖥️Youtube and 💦sweat-equity!

💡Entrepreneurship is a wild ride. It’s fun and terrifying and there are a ton of things you learn on the go. But what everyone learns on the entrepreneurship journey is totally different based on what you bring to the path. Rachael and Max learned that, even though they had a previous business in 🏗️construction, this new one would require some study time in the 📚marketing field.

When Rachael started on the entrepreneurship journey two years ago, she says it was sort of a mix of an accident and a passion for gardening. Since the family started the business, it has grown fast - and now they are partnering with local businesses to get their veggies on to plates around the area!

No one knows ⭐for sure⭐ what is going to happen in the future with anything, much less speciality farming! But the folks at @Next Generation Farming, LLC have worked to plan for tomorrow! Co-owner Rachael takes us through their plans.

Finally,

Great news for veggie and music lovers alike at the Destiny Worship Center! Rachael has announced that she is ending her career as a nurse to work on Next Generation Farming and serving as the 🎶Worship Leader🎶 for the church!
