Are you feeling scared about what’s happening during quarantine? Are you nervous about the future of your photography business? Are you conflicted about what you should be working on?

In this episode of The #PHOTOBESTIES Podcast, I am going to be discussing six quarantine hacks for photographers, which basically means six things that you could be doing RIGHT NOW in your business. I wanted to have an honest discussion about what’s happening in the world and what the future looks like (to warn you, it’s REAL HONEST and not what everyone is telling you right now).

Work on the backend stuff. From your why, to branding, to upleveling your customer experience or updating your skills - this is a great time to catch up on the things that you haven’t made a priority but might make all the difference in booking clients in the future.

Apply for grants or assistance if needed. I don’t have too much information about this, but there are many online resources out there to help guide you through this time.

Relax. Let’s take a minute and enjoy the positives of being with our kids more and not having to wake up and hustle the day away. None of this meant to be insensitive, but we have to make lemonade out of lemons, and this can very well be a time for rest + family connection.

Book sessions or create promos. I’ve been hearing of some neat things happening! There is a large debate about the Front Porch sessions, but depending on your state and if you can do it safely, more power to you. I’ve also been hearing about photographers collaborating, and offering unique promos like “Buy One, Get One For a First Responder.” This is a time where you can be super creative and serve the community!

Sell something of value. You all have knowledge about something (photo biz or not) that would help someone else. If you know more than 10% about something than someone else does, you have something to teach them. From developing presets, offering album design, editing iPhone photos to selling lessons on how to curl your hair - think about how you serve someone with your expertise and make money in the process while diversifying your revenue. Want to know how to launch and make money off of something like this? Watch the Recession Proof Masterclass Here.

Do what you need to do to survive. I might be burnt at the stake for saying this right now, and y’all can take what you want for it. Be safe out there and do your due diligence. But you have a constitutional right to protect your property. Your business is your property. If you’re struggling, do whatever you need to do to take your security back (obviously nothing criminal). But truly, we are in a unique time and we live in a freedom oriented country, not a communist one. Don’t forget that.

To conclude, do what feels right for you right now. It’s not going to be the same for everyone! But if you’re looking for a proven strategy to market + launch something of value in your business right now, go watch my free recession proofing masterclass.
