Lisa’s Smart Talk podcast is one of my favorites. I asked her how she decides who to have the show.
She Looks for Guests
Lisa likes interviewing the academics. She likes asking questions about the latest research and how they think.
She also feels this gives her additional credibility when talking with others because she’s asked the questions from the person who understands it best.
How Lisa B. Marshall Prepares for an interview
1. If it’s a book she reads the book
2. She will watch any YouTube videos of the guest
3. She will research the guest on the web
4. If she likes the book, she decides how closely she wants to follow the book or speeches she’s found
5. Sometimes she goes back and reviews her notes and tries to recapture the ideas she was thinking about as she went through the material.
