In this episode The Crypt Keepers Stef & Devin discuss the days leading up to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. On December 23rd 1996 the Ramsey’s hosted their annual Christmas party in their home to celebrate with friends. The strange part about this party is someone dialed 911. When police arrived the Ramsey’s friend spoke to police but not face to face - through the door speaker. She let them know that the call was a mistake & everyone was enjoying themselves at a Christmas party. Was the killer there that night? Did they dial 911 to test how fast police would arrive at The Ramsey’s residence? On December 25th 1996 The Ramsey’s celebrated Christmas together. They later went to have Christmas dinner at a friends home. Dinner went well & they arrived home with JonBenet falling asleep in the car. The kids were put to bed around 9/10PM. Neighbors claimed to have seen a light on in The Ramsey’s kitchen around midnight & possibly a scream & some type of metal scrapping on concrete. Patsy wakes up on December 26th 1996 to find a ransom note on the spiral staircase demanding $118,000 for JonBenet’s life. “Follow our instructions & you stand a 100% chance of getting her back” they stated in the letter. The girls break down this letter & have some strange findings. The letter was almost fully composed of lines from movies that involved a kidnapping & a ransom letter. This shows that the killer was a big movie buff. Also, the letter was 3 pages long, bizarre to think the killer would sit around in a home where they just murdered a 6 year old girl to spend over 20 minutes writing a ransom note - on The Ramsey’s own legal pad & with The Ramsey’s own pen. They also discuss the similarities & differences between the person who wrote the ransom note & Patsy Ramsey & the random amount of money the writer had asked for.
