In this episode The Crypt Keepers Devin & Stef begin discussing the disappearance of Susan Powell. Susan had a great life growing up with two sisters & loving parents. Her dream was to make people look & feel good, she went on to become a hair dresser. But she also wanted to be a good wife & mother & raise a family. Her faith was extremely important to her, she was looking for a godly Mormon husband. She met a man named Josh Powell. Josh didn’t have a great life growing up. His parents were married for 20 toxic years & his father, Steve, was abusive to his mother Terrica & himself. Steve was also into voyeurism & would bring a camcorder everywhere to unsuspectedly spy on women & girls. Steve didn’t set any boundaries for any of his children, they ran wild & he introduced pornography to his boys at a young age. After only two months together Susan & Josh married but Josh was lazy & couldn’t keep a job, the burden of supporting them was placed on Susan. Quickly the couple realized they couldn’t live on their own & moved in with Steve. Steve quickly took a liking to Susan & made her uncomfortable in many ways but Josh didn’t care. Eventually the couple was able to move out & moved 900 miles away from Steve. Susan was relieved but things with her husband Josh were going to get much worse….
