Hey there warriors! Hebrews 8:6 tells us that Jesus offers us a better covenant with God, based on better promises. But when the Bible says "better," what exactly does it mean? Let's dive into three points that will help us understand the superiority of this new covenant, along with a call to action and a conclusion.

* The Upgrade of the Century

The new covenant is like upgrading from a flip phone to a smartphone – it's a game-changer! It's better than the covenant established at Sinai, better than the legal system allowing priests to enter the Holy of Holies, and even better than the relationships God had with the likes of Abraham, Moses, David, and the prophets. This new covenant brings God's relationship with us to a whole new level.

* Face-to-Face Communication: Not Just for Moses Anymore

Some people argue that God no longer speaks to us because everything He has to say is already in the Bible. But think about it: if God met Moses face-to-face and we only get a book, that's not an upgrade. We wouldn't call it a "better" covenant if it means God has gone silent or only communicates through ancient texts. No, in this new covenant era, with the indwelling Spirit, we are redeemed to have a personal relationship with God.

* Don't Fall for the Deception: God Still Speaks

It's easy to think that God's general revelation to humanity through the Bible means He's done talking to us personally. But that's like saying that once you read a bestselling relationship book, you no longer need to have conversations with your significant other. Just as relationships thrive on a personal connection, God still speaks to us individually about our unique situations and needs.

Call to Action:

Embrace the better covenant Jesus offers by nurturing your personal relationship with God. Seek His presence in prayer, listen for His voice, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Remember that God's communication goes beyond the pages of Scripture – He wants to speak directly to your heart.

Conclusion:

The better covenant we have through Jesus is like getting a backstage pass to the most exclusive concert in town – it's an incredible privilege! God wants to engage with us on a deeply personal level, sharing His heart and wisdom with our unique circumstances. So don't settle for a one-size-fits-all, impersonal spirituality. Embrace the upgrade and experience the joy of a personal relationship with God. After all, who wouldn't want to have a divine one-on-one with the Creator of the universe?

Let’s Pray…Lord, I embrace every word of Your revelation in Scripture, and I choose to take it personally. Yet I know You give specific direction, too, and I know You enjoy my company. Please keep our conversations lively and refreshing  —and very unique to us.
