In this episode, I talk about the process I went through building The MetaMind Circle and my history with online communities. I learned that it’s not always easy to form meaningful relationships online, and I discuss some of the things I learned along the way.
Highlights
When a group I joined a few years ago no longer served my need to have authentic conversations, I studied how to start and build an online community.I discuss the idea behind The MetaMind Circle, how it got started, how it has grown – and changed – and what I have learned from the process. For me it’s important to let things grow organically, no matter how long it takes. And now I see how everything is coming together in a wonderful way. What I get out of an organization I belong to, is up to me not the organization. If I don’t enjoy what I’m doing, I do something else. This may mean making changes to what I thought had to be done to reach my goals. It helps to talk to other people about your ideas, especially people who share your values. There’s a good chance that things you try are not going to work. That’s okay. You don’t have to stick with it. Try something else.I talk about some of the things I want to do in the future.
