This episode is part one of a two part story, and is unlike anything I, host Katie Roberts, have ever told or probably will ever tell on the podcast. As some of you may know, my husband and I are foster and adoptive parents. From July 2018 to September 2019, we fostered a little girl named Penelope. I talk about her in Episode 30 (if you haven’t listened to that episode yet, you totally should).

Today I sit down with Jazmin Lopez, Penelope’s biological momma, as she tells her story, from her perspective of the whole 13 months that we fostered HER baby girl. She speaks with such wisdom and honestly, she is one of the funniest people I have ever met. She talks about what that day was like when Penelope was taken from her and put into foster care. She also talks about the power and importance of accepting and loving who you are, despite any mental health issues you may face. Like I said, this is only part one to the beautiful story that is our friendship...
