I'm celebrating Black History Month by spotlighting the works of James Weldon Johnson! Known for the powerful anthem "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," Johnson was a prolific writer of prose and a pioneer of the "Harlem Renaissance." One of his great "Negro Sermons" is "The Creation," a dynamic and vivid re-telling of God's construction of the world found in the book of Genesis.
