If I were to talk only about beauty pageants with Kelli, that alone would make for a compelling podcast. But we're not going to talk about pageants; we're going to talk about welding. And welding as it relates to shipbuilding in particular. Beauty pageants are a hobby of Kelli's, but what Kelli does for a living is shipbuilding. She was a welder in the US Navy where she worked in the shipyard repairing naval vessels. After leaving the navy, she went to work at the shipyards in Virginia. We talk about everything that comes with holding leadership roles in a male-dominated field while also participating in beauty pageants. There are challenges and expectations that come with each role, and Kelli has to balance the two... plus, she's a mother of five. There is a lot to talk about!
