1:11

Thank you for hanging out with me today for your shares, your DMs.

1:15

It truly keeps our podcast going.

1:18

And I was thinking about this word, failure.

1:22

What is your relationship with failure?

1:26

For the longest time, I used to be a perfectionist and didn't have a great relationship.

1:31

with failure until I got older. It stems from my parents having very strict rules to pushing for straight A's all the time and I'll never forget

1:33

the moment I came home with a report card and I had all A's and one B and my father says you could do better.

1:47

And I probably took it incorrectly, or I probably took it wrong.

1:51

But what if, just what if failure became your greatest gift in life?

1:56

And throughout my journey of entrepreneurship, of building businesses in multiple markets and a team or mortgage businesses, or even

1:56

building out our investment portfolio, it was the failures or the things that didn't go right that actually gave me the best lessons.

2:13

if you've ever felt that nothing was going right for you, or you should be further along, or you should be at least, or almost halfway through

2:13

your goals, or tracking to halfway through your goals, this episode, might be for you as I share the five lessons that I've learned from failure.

2:32

You see, learning from failure and moving past it is another, especially when failure is fresh.

2:38

For many, learning from failure takes time and perspective, but when we can look at our failures from a place of curiosity, they can be our greatest teachers.

2:51

The first thing failure taught me was failure Builds character.

2:58

There is a lesson to be learned from everything, including failing.

3:02

Perhaps the greatest benefit from failure is actually strength.

3:07

Think about it. Imagine if your life was perfect and every endeavor ended in seamless success.

3:14

What sort of person would you be today?

3:17

Would you truly be who you are today? The truth is this.

3:21

Failure teaches us more about ourselves and helps us build character better than success ever could.

3:27

If you ever felt like you're failing in business, consider it a positive thing.

3:34

Number two is failure creates opportunity.

3:37

How many times in your business have you failed at something only to discover?

3:42

Another opportunity. There have been many, many, many different things that I've tried, whether it was being a solo agent, building a team,

3:44

flipping a property, or building an expansion team, only to find out that there is no right or wrong way to build anything.

4:00

It's when we actually fail or things don't work out, we discover another opportunity.

4:07

And my experience today allows me to strategically help entrepreneurs double their business.

4:14

and even 10x their business because I can see their roadmap.

4:19

And that all comes from trying so many different things, failing at so many different things over the last two decades.

4:27

Coaching gave me the opportunity to help impact more lives than just selling one home One client at a time.

4:38

Number three is failure teaches resilience.

4:41

When we fail, it can teach us resilience.

4:44

The first time you've ever had a client, just think about this.

4:47

No show or ghost you.

4:50

You learned really quickly how to avoid it the next time.

4:54

Every failure makes us stronger.

4:56

It's through the discomfort and uncertainty of the epic fail that Juan will be better able to take on any of life's challenges as they come.

5:06

resilience is something required of all successful people, and there's no better teacher of resilience than failure.

5:14

And number four, failure raises our emotional thermostat.

5:19

The more that we deal with failures, the more we are able to control our emotions and go towards solutions.

5:26

failures can bring us a greater sense of emotional awareness.

5:31

You may have felt sad or so many different emotions with failure for a long time, but over time, you learn how to handle it even better.

5:42

Failing can teach you how to bounce back. It can help you discover You won't actually fall apart.

5:48

It reminds you that you have what it takes to get right back up and go at it again.

5:55

Recognizing when you're failing and picking yourself up is a key skill that you need to overcoming failure itself.

6:03

Number five, last but not least, is failure teaches you appreciation because failure isn't the best feeling.

6:13

You learn how to appreciate and be grateful for the experience and other things.

6:18

The truth is, and here's the hard truth, is that failure is part of success.

6:23

There's no way of getting around it.

6:26

And after having the opportunity of meeting so many different successful, I mean very, very successful people, failure will happen.

6:35

You just cannot give up.

6:38

Keep pushing through my friends. Because success is just a string of failures strung together that you decided to push right through.

6:46

Keep going because your impact in this world is far more important than any setback you'll ever face.

6:54

I want to thank you all for listening to this very quick episode.

7:01

I've been in a whirlwind of travels for conferences and my kiddos basketball.

7:05

There have been plenty of times that I did not want to record as I was operating on very few hours of sleep yet.

7:14

It's your shares, your messages that keep me going, and like my mentor said, You can suck, but you cannot skip.

7:21

Thank you to this community for not allowing me to skip even on hard days and even on days that I fail and for listening to another quick episode.

7:31

And until our next episode, don't forget to keep playing bigger, my friends.
