Romberg Podcast. Hello

0:11

everyone, this is Ron Burgundy and

0:14

boy do we have a treat for you. I'm, of

0:17

course joined by Carolina. Carolina, how are you

0:19

today? I'm good. I'm good. I

0:21

love your sun dress. Thank you. It's

0:24

um it's very sunflowery,

0:27

Yes it is. Did you do the embroidery

0:29

yourself? No, I bought it at a store.

0:31

Why why? I

0:34

think it's actually a high level of craftsmanship.

0:38

I'm being serious. I know, I'm just suspicious.

0:40

No, you shouldn't be. Um.

0:42

We are so excited that you're listening.

0:45

I mean, we're always excited that you're listening.

0:47

We can't believe that you're listening. We are still

0:49

in disbelief. But today

0:52

today's show is really special. It is. It

0:54

is basically a best of season two

0:57

special episode featuring

0:59

favorite moments from throughout the season,

1:02

and we've cultivated

1:05

uh, what would you say, We've curated

1:07

a fabulous panache? Is

1:11

pinach? Pinash is also a food? Right?

1:13

Yes, it's you. I'm thinking of a

1:15

grenache. Oh, anyway,

1:19

this is a This is a collection of real

1:21

special gems from throughout season two.

1:23

We've thrown them all in the little

1:25

goodie bag here. Ron really wanted

1:27

to do a blooper reel. I did, because,

1:30

let's face it, whenever I go to a major motion

1:33

picture, I usually

1:35

show up at the last fifteen minutes

1:37

to watch the blooper reel with the crowds. Oh

1:40

god. I mean, the thing is that we didn't

1:42

have that many bloopers, so you were I could see

1:44

that you're trying to plant someone. I wanted something

1:46

in that same family. You pushed

1:48

me off that chair, yeah,

1:51

and little things like that. So um

1:54

So, anyway, we've cobbled some things

1:57

together and this is a this is the showing

1:59

of that work. Um

2:01

Now, I know that Carolina.

2:03

You know, throughout both our seasons,

2:06

you've you've done a lot of fact checking on the

2:08

show, and we've received

2:10

tons of letters that it's

2:13

subpar, subpar um

2:16

And that's not me trying to be catty. That's

2:18

just a statement effect. But here's

2:21

the good news. The cavalry

2:24

road into town to save Carolina's

2:26

sweet booty. Uh, we've

2:29

got a system now that's even better. Listen

2:31

to this. Hey, Google, what's

2:33

the capital of California?

2:40

Wait? Did you really not know that? You

2:42

know? The point is Google did? Okay,

2:44

So what if I didn't. Huh

2:47

what if you didn't. We now have a fool proof

2:50

fact check system with Google Assistant.

2:52

That's what we need to focus on. Okay,

2:55

no quid pro quo here, Yes

2:58

maybe we Okay, get back into the Best

3:01

of Please enjoy

3:03

this Best of season two. Ron

3:06

Bergundy Podcast Today.

3:10

Does that sound right? Today? That reading of today?

3:13

Yeah, it's exactly how it's pronounce Today,

3:16

we are interviewing a woman who

3:18

is very important. She's a

3:21

very very smart woman. She's

3:24

um, this

3:27

episode is on. I'm

3:30

going to own up. I forgot who were interviewing today?

3:33

Are you serious? I

3:35

have a feeling it's not Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

3:38

You tried her, right, Caroline? Did you

3:40

try her? We tried with Peter Ginsberg. But her

3:42

business manager said, um,

3:45

this is weird. She said you two had a

3:47

falling out. I was I was

3:49

confused. She said you two were no longer

3:51

on speaking terms. You heard that right? For

3:54

two whole years. If you if you came

3:56

to the Saddle Creek Diner on a Monday

3:58

morning, you'd see me and baby Ruth in a

4:00

corner eating breakfast and talking shop. You're

4:03

talking shop. You wouldn't understand it. Carolina.

4:05

Okay, it's lost stuff, all right? Did

4:08

you understand it? Not really? But I

4:10

let her talk, and boy can

4:13

she talk. She

4:15

can talk you through the Saddle Creek's Lumberjack special

4:18

for sausage links and to pancake

4:20

piles. Later, she's still going

4:22

on. And I'm sorry to ask you,

4:24

but why did you guys stop hanging out? Um?

4:27

I would say, scheduling conflicts. Well,

4:30

I mean after we had a huge fight, she said

4:32

that she couldn't see me anymore. So that

4:34

was our scheduling conflict. Oh

4:36

got it? So yeah, if I

4:38

saw today, I feel like bygones

4:41

would be bygones. So exactly

4:43

how did you guys leave it? Word for word? Well,

4:46

if memory serves, she said something

4:48

like, if you start a food fight

4:51

in this diner, I will never speak

4:53

to you again. And you started a food

4:55

fighting the diner. Yes we

4:58

did, or I did? Who

5:00

can remember the specifics anymore. It's it's

5:02

hard to have a food fight when you're the only one

5:04

throwing food. You know,

5:07

it feels like you're the apple in that situation.

5:10

But to get people to join, you have to just

5:13

throw more food. I mean omelets, jellos,

5:15

a cup full of eyes. I mean, nothing was

5:17

getting this crowd going. How old do

5:20

you think most of the how old were the most of

5:22

the people in the dining Oh, I mean everyone was

5:24

in there early to late seventies

5:26

except for one grand kid. Yeah, so that's

5:28

probably not the best participants for our food

5:30

fight, you know what I mean. Ruth knows that

5:33

I'm here if she every wants to rekindle our

5:35

friendship. I'm available for

5:37

breakfast literally every morning.

5:39

Well, actually we record the podcast in the morning. Any

5:41

morning works. There is literally nothing

5:43

going on in my life right now that I

5:45

would prioritize over breakfast.

5:49

So, uh,

5:53

I just want to let that lie. Yeah,

5:55

I'm out there. Here we are with

5:58

a real life brainy in the studio,

6:00

doctor Millstein, the brain scientist.

6:03

He knows what's inside your brain.

6:05

Pretty crazy stuff. Let me ask you

6:07

this question. I know there's a lot of information

6:11

on the amount of sleep we get, right,

6:14

So why do I

6:16

need fourteen hours of sleep every night? Is

6:18

that? Do you get fourteen hours of sleep at least

6:20

at least that's a lot of

6:22

sleep. That's uh, you might want to would

6:25

you say that's a borderline too much? I would

6:27

that would be a concern. Oh, I thought I was doing

6:29

great. Yet you always say I need to make

6:31

sure I get my fourteen and I'll say I nailed

6:33

it last night. I got sixteen and a half.

6:36

So that's not that's not the way to go,

6:39

right. So sleep is definitely very important

6:41

for the brain, but we're looking at more

6:44

the right amount as opposed to too much or

6:46

too little, So fourteen would be you want

6:48

to check in with your personal doctor. So during

6:50

sleep, what does the brain do. It's recharging,

6:52

regenerating, just literally resting.

6:55

So it's it's actually amazing. What we've learned

6:57

is that it's not just resting, it's actually

6:59

going through almost like a program, a sequence.

7:02

And so one thing that's amazing is that when

7:04

you're asleep, your brain actually shrinks

7:06

down to about six of

7:08

its current size and squeezes

7:10

out of the brain cells trash, toxins,

7:13

and waste, and it squeezes all

7:15

that out into that empty space. And

7:17

then where does that go? So then fluid

7:20

comes up from your spinal cord and washes your brain,

7:22

so every night you have a brainwash. So that's

7:24

why it's so important to sleep. And then that waste

7:26

in trash. This is true

7:29

I can show you a picture. This

7:31

is yeah, this is this is cutting

7:34

edge, just getting into the medical

7:36

textbooks. So the brain shrinks, shrinks

7:38

down down to it. It

7:40

sounds like a horror movie, but it's real. Is there any

7:42

chance that when the brain expands back

7:45

that it would go it would start

7:47

to explode out of your head. Uh,

7:49

that's not a concern. No, But

7:51

but it's a it's a dynamic process.

7:54

It's pulse eights and it squeezes

7:56

out all that trash and toxins and waste out

7:58

of curiosity. What if you have a final cord injury?

8:01

Would that affect the process? That's

8:03

a great question. So that is a concern, is that anyone

8:05

who has a spinal cord. Why was her question

8:07

so great and mine wasn't so great? I should

8:09

have said that you had that was a great question to go

8:12

ahead? Both great. Yeah. Um,

8:14

the concern can be that if that fluid is

8:16

not making its way to the brain, that the washing

8:18

might not be as as effective, and so

8:20

you could keep toxins inside your

8:23

body. So what we're learning

8:25

is is that even things like dementia,

8:27

which is very complex, or someone losing their memory.

8:30

That's why sleep is so important is because that build

8:32

up of toxins and trash, we

8:34

need to wash it out every night while we're sleeping. God,

8:36

is this why there's a new trend to drink your own

8:38

spinal cord fluid. I haven't heard

8:41

that. I think that would not be a good idea, because

8:43

I could have sworn that's you know a lot

8:45

of professional athletes are now drinking their own spinal

8:47

cord fluid. Yeah, I haven't

8:50

heard that, but that it would not

8:52

be a good idea, Okay, And so during sleep

8:54

time, what is the average

8:57

man's risk for being incepted?

9:00

Incepted meaning like

9:02

the movie Inception Inception. I actually haven't seen that movie.

9:04

So you mean you mean someone sneaking

9:06

into your brain and planting

9:09

like bad ideas inside your head

9:11

A lot of times when Ron

9:13

makes a mistake, he says, oh, I

9:16

was incepted, right right.

9:19

The statistics on that I'm not aware

9:21

of. I would say they're extremely low to

9:23

zero. But I would say that, well,

9:26

what we can learn while we're sleeping is pretty interesting

9:28

because Inception is based on a true story.

9:30

So I don't know if it's

9:32

said that, but i'd like doctor, I'd

9:34

like you to tell that to Chris Nolan.

9:37

Uh, one area though, the is you can there's some interesting

9:39

research you might be able to learn while you're sleep. Maybe

9:42

a word here that you might process

9:44

it yea like a foreign language or so

9:46

that that's CPR foreign

9:49

language. I wish that was true. But it seems like maybe

9:51

you could learn a word here and then it would be fun to

9:54

take CPR and a foreign language, because

9:56

then you'd kill two birds with one stone. That's

9:58

a good idea. I popped it on your list. So

10:01

you're having a dream. Let's

10:03

say you die in your dream. Does that

10:05

kill you like in Freddy Krueger's Nightmare

10:08

on Elm Street. No, that does not. That

10:10

does not kill you. No, if you die in your dream,

10:12

yes, so yeah, your dreams are not

10:15

not based on what happens in your and

10:17

what's going to happen to you in your day to day. That

10:19

is a relief. That is

10:21

an absolute relief. Um.

10:24

The other day I forgot to have my

10:27

cup of morning Joe, right, and

10:30

wouldn't you know it, I punched a hole

10:33

through this wall. Uh,

10:35

what what the heck is that about not

10:38

getting that morning caffeine? Yes, well,

10:41

caffeine is something that is very helpful

10:43

in you know, it wakes you up. People

10:45

can help them with their mood. So it's

10:47

possible that if you had a bit of a mood, SWEE

10:49

had a bit of a mood swing about your your morning

10:52

morning coffee there, because I'm getting fourteen

10:54

hours of sleep and it

10:56

takes me, what would you say, another

10:59

three hours it out of my groggy state. Yeah.

11:01

I don't usually understand

11:04

what you're talking about until three cups

11:06

of coffee. Yes, but you've

11:09

said some really sweet things, and then

11:11

after coffee you say, I become

11:13

a normal rational heat exactly.

11:16

We are joined right now by

11:18

our cyber security expert,

11:21

UH, Richard Greenberg. Richard, thank you

11:23

for for joining us here on the podcast

11:26

on the weekends. Richard, I like

11:28

to mess around with my CB equipment. Um,

11:32

you know, I have one in my truck, uh,

11:34

and I just drive around for hours talking to my

11:36

pals. I've got the Muskrat,

11:38

Howler, dan Zoid,

11:41

Gruving, Gary, all good buddies in my convoy.

11:44

And if if you're ever out on the road,

11:46

my handle is frog Penis. Uh.

11:49

That's a long it's a long, funny story. I

11:51

don't have time to get into anyway. Is

11:53

my CB radio safe from hackers?

11:57

CB is open so anybody

11:59

can get on, but there's not a whole lot you can

12:01

do with it unless it's connected to one

12:03

of your networks internally, which is most

12:06

likely not the case. Some people have actually

12:08

done that, but I've seen your truck or your

12:10

vehicle. Then it's contained

12:13

Roger that. Yeah, I'll tell you, Richard,

12:15

sometimes I can be a real ratchet, real

12:18

ratchet John there. I'll be

12:20

talking to claw Humper, buzz Ball and Dr

12:23

Nathaniel Fernald doing double

12:25

nickels on the dimes, saying, hey, muskrat,

12:27

what's your twenty next thing? You know, I got some mama

12:29

bear on my donkey. Okay, this is a cyber

12:31

security expert. He doesn't work with CB radios.

12:34

And I've told you before not everyone understands

12:36

CBE radio lingo. Come on, CAROLINEA

12:39

quit acting like a lot lizard. Okay. You told

12:41

me that a lot lizard is CB radio lingle for prostitute,

12:44

and it is absolutely not okay to call me that. It also

12:46

doesn't make any sense in this context. Ten

12:48

four. That was out of line. I apologize,

12:51

Richard gets it though. Ten

12:53

four ten four. See I'm

12:55

just glad internet hackers can't mess with my

12:58

CB radio. That's that's a release. Yeah,

13:01

but that is an open line of communication

13:03

absolutely, so watch what you say

13:06

or not. Yeah. Joining

13:08

us here in studio is Liz or childcare

13:10

expert Liz. Thank you for coming on the

13:12

podcast today. Liz, what's

13:15

a trick or um

13:19

on terms of how to talk to children

13:21

that more you see most people do wrong? Is that too broad

13:23

up a question? Oh no,

13:25

that's pretty top of mind for me.

13:28

Um. So adults parents

13:30

are blowing it constantly. There are

13:32

two things that when I see parents

13:34

doing that I know is really well meaning. I get

13:36

really excited about how to gently adjust

13:38

them out of the habits. And the first is

13:40

when parents say use your words when

13:43

their child is having a tantrum or struggling.

13:45

The parent is trying to say, hey,

13:48

we can talk this out. I'm here, I

13:50

can listen to you. But what they're actually

13:52

saying is, you know that hardest

13:55

thing for you to do, the most difficult

13:58

way that you have to communicate, Use

14:00

that right now while you're in a panic

14:02

and you're crying and you're struggling. Um.

14:05

So, instead of saying use your

14:07

words, I'll advise parents to offer

14:10

their kids what they know their kids are trying to say

14:12

in that moment. This is helping me so

14:14

much because Ron was having a tantrum

14:17

earlier today and I did, I was, I

14:19

was, I said your words,

14:21

and he was having it was there

14:24

was he was trying to formulate the words, but they

14:26

weren't coming. Now, I see that was me. Let's

14:29

walk through that. Let's do a do over on

14:31

Ron's tantrum and walk through what maybe

14:33

you could do the next time to help you guys stay

14:35

connected in that really hard moment. Is that okay?

14:37

Okay? Yeah, sure. So Ron's crying

14:42

R I'm

14:46

just gonna let him go. So what

14:48

I would say right there, Ron,

14:50

I see you looking for your bag of the kibble,

14:53

and you seem really frustrated that you

14:55

can't find it. Would you

14:57

like some help so we can look for your

15:00

killed together? It's

15:02

good. Yeah,

15:06

Ron, I still see that you're looking at your kibl

15:08

I'd like to help you, but it's up on a high shelf

15:12

for you. M hm. Partying

15:16

is embarrassing by your

15:18

face. Sorry,

15:22

that is sort of usually where it ends.

15:25

I usually lash out and

15:28

I always apologize. My

15:31

rule is seven days. I have to apologize

15:33

within seven days, and I wait, I waited

15:35

out and sometimes it doesn't come, but sometimes it does, and

15:38

sometimes it comes at the eleventh hour, end

15:41

of day six, exactly the

15:44

day we are going to do

15:47

some audience participation.

15:50

That's right now. I see that some of

15:52

you have written to us on the internet

15:54

asking for advice from your good

15:56

old pal Ron. Yeah.

15:58

We actually have quite a lot of questions

16:01

to get through today. Okay, Well,

16:03

everyone comes to me for advice, love advice,

16:05

fashion advice, raccoon advice. You

16:07

name it, so I'm kind of used to it. Um,

16:09

what what's raccoon advice? Oh?

16:12

You know, I give advice on how to get

16:15

them into your house and domesticate them.

16:18

Great at Jared Stephen

16:20

rode In. He says, me and my

16:23

girlfriend are in the middle of a

16:25

fight. What's something I can say that will

16:27

end the dispute? Calmly m

16:29

hmmm. Well, I'm glad you asked this,

16:31

Jared. You know, I

16:34

love stopping a fight. I in

16:36

fact, I always wanted to be one of

16:38

those security guys on the you know Jerry

16:40

Springer show, Carolina, you know who

16:43

jumps in when the

16:45

is hitting the fan. And just pulls the

16:47

brawl apart. Yeah. So,

16:50

you know, sometimes I break up a fight before

16:52

it even happens. I'll just walk into crowded bars

16:55

and I'll yell, hey, cool

16:57

it. Oh wow. I

16:59

mean I guess that could resolve a

17:01

dispute that's about to start. Okay,

17:04

but this guy is just asking how to end an argument

17:06

with his significant other, right again,

17:09

great question. Listen, if you want your

17:11

partner to remain calm, you

17:13

have to remain calm. It takes two

17:16

to tango. You know what. That's

17:18

actually, that's that's

17:20

good advice. I completely agree. Yeah,

17:23

no, it's pretty simple, simple blueprint. I

17:25

mean, you should just calmly say to your girlfriend

17:28

in almost a whisper, listen, honey,

17:31

you're being crazy. Okay,

17:34

you're losing your marbles. If

17:36

you keep backs in this way, you're

17:39

gonna land yourself in the

17:41

cuckoo's nest. No, absolutely

17:44

not run. You cannot call women crazy?

17:47

Well, then how should we tell them to

17:49

calm down? No, you should never tell a woman

17:51

to calm down? Well, then how will

17:53

I let them know when they're being hysteria?

17:56

Avoid all of these words, all

17:58

of these sentences. M h geez,

18:02

you know. It's just it's so much easier dealing

18:04

with raccoons than it is dealing with people. Don't

18:07

you agree? No, No,

18:11

this is Ron Burgundy. You're listening

18:14

to, of course, a special episode

18:16

best of season two. Um.

18:18

Some great memories here, great memories,

18:21

even though I gotta say there's a bit of a bummer that

18:24

we had to drive all the way in here to

18:26

record these intros and outros.

18:29

Well, you had me canceled to vacations

18:32

and they were both on the wrong dates. What

18:34

are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? This business

18:36

is a fickle mistress, I guess.

18:40

I mean, we could have planned it out better. Yeah,

18:44

well, that's why I don't take any vacations ever.

18:47

I'm on call, ready to go. Literally

18:51

told me that you're out of the country.

18:54

Last night, when I told you we had

18:56

this tomorrow, you said, I can't amount of

18:58

the country. I know,

19:00

I was hoping you would. I was

19:03

hoping you would take the bait and cancel it reschedule,

19:07

But no, I wasn't. I was lying. Yeah,

19:10

I see that now. Well, regardless,

19:13

we're here right. We

19:16

had mentioned this before. We have a new piece

19:19

of technology in the studio, The

19:22

Google Home device, which you

19:25

implied was a better employee.

19:28

No, I didn't imply I said it. Okay,

19:31

well I have been coming around to it,

19:33

you know. No, it's not a human that

19:35

works from eight am to eight thirty

19:37

pm and was called with no lunch

19:39

breaks, no lunch breaks, and on

19:41

Christmas you called me saying you had a bad

19:43

dream, and then on my way there you said you

19:45

were at Panda Express. But

19:48

look, this could be more helpful

19:51

to us because watch, hey,

19:53

Google, what are some nearby

19:55

restaurants. I found

19:58

a few restaurants near you. It

20:00

actually is super helpful. Can do anything. It

20:02

can show you where the closest Panda expresses

20:04

and then you won't have to call me.

20:08

I still might call you, though, just for backup.

20:10

I don't think Google needs

20:12

backup. I think it's it's got

20:15

you. You know. It's interesting because

20:17

sometimes they have celebrities do

20:19

the voice for it. That's so cool. Yeah,

20:22

and I don't know if I told you this, but I was up

20:24

for the voice of that thing, and

20:27

I would have crushed it. Yeah

20:29

maybe, but no, I

20:31

lost out to get this. Guess

20:33

who I lost it to. You're gonna believe this.

20:36

It's a total I roll John

20:38

Legend him,

20:42

but he's a tough competition. You think

20:44

I don't know that. I mean, the man has

20:46

a voice of an angel and a wife with a social

20:48

media presence that's nothing less than delightful.

20:52

But let me ask you, does John Legend have

20:55

any experience as a newscaster? Does he

20:58

not that I'm aware of? Does Google?

21:00

Thing is supposed to give you information

21:02

and news and play music? Right? I

21:04

mean, the last time I checked, that's the

21:06

job of a broadcaster. I'm a broadcaster,

21:10

not some guy with oscars and Grammys and

21:12

a beautiful genius wife who has great personality

21:14

and just totally nails it on social

21:17

media. I mean, doesn't John

21:19

Legend have enough? He's very talented

21:21

and nice, Nice Carolina.

21:24

Let me show you I can do this. Ask

21:27

me a question like I was Google. Okay,

21:31

um, hey, Ron,

21:34

what's the closest yoga studio?

21:37

You have several options? I've

21:40

sat that you're on your phone? Also,

21:42

do you really think yo guys? Enough?

21:45

Okay? That's in? Is

21:47

that like a golemn invitation?

21:49

I have no idea.

21:52

I made a choice during the

21:54

audition, and I I

21:56

totally blew it. It is weird,

21:59

right, it's yes, strong but

22:01

wrong against

22:03

John Legend. I don't think I didn't

22:05

even have a chance. It's unsettling. Um,

22:08

we should move on. Actually, yes,

22:11

let's uh well, let's get back here

22:14

with more of best of Season two

22:16

special episode

22:21

and we are back with the Ron Burgundy

22:23

Podcast. Today we

22:26

have Roni Ganosh in the house. Los

22:29

Angeles magazine calls her the

22:31

star Somali A. I

22:34

call her RONI, Yes,

22:38

what do you What do you think of a nice Burgundy?

22:40

And I'm not just talking about the wine.

22:45

Let's just put the chateau away for a little bit

22:47

while you sober up. I think that we have to

22:50

get through the inter you

22:52

know, I feel like we barely got to talk about I love Lucy.

22:54

Are you a Lucy or

22:56

an Ethel? Because I'm a Samantha

22:59

and Caroline it as a Miranda. No, I'm not.

23:01

That's you're mixing up shows. I'm

23:04

and for the record, I'm Charlotte. Which

23:07

question should I answer? Lucy or Ethel?

23:10

You know the chocolate

23:12

machine, right, the conveyor belt, all

23:14

the chocolates. When we're getting a little

23:16

often, I wish there's

23:19

no right or wrong answer. Maybe

23:22

a Lucy. I'd like to be a lucy Oh

23:25

wow, well it

23:27

looks like are you okay? Are

23:30

you? Are you going to take a little nap?

23:33

Do you do you guys ever wonder what

23:36

any of it all means? Okay, no,

23:38

I think why don't you get your head off the table. You're

23:40

gonna fall out of your chair. Just sit back.

23:43

Do you guys have any more Yeah,

23:46

yeah, no, we do, we do. We definitely have a few

23:48

more questions. Okay, hey,

23:50

hey, hey, come

23:52

on, come

23:56

on, you got it. Just Ronni

23:58

didn't see that, did she. No, you're a

24:00

good run. Don't worry. You

24:02

got it? Oh yeah, ship shape?

24:07

All right? Where are my notes?

24:10

Yeah, they're right in front of you. Sometimes

24:12

I just sit on the floor of my shower and

24:14

I just think, wow, who turned

24:16

off the dance music? There

24:19

wasn't any dance music playing. I don't know.

24:22

I want to put on the

24:24

new song by Degrees. They

24:27

aren't abandoned anymore. That's not true.

24:30

That's not true. You

24:32

just don't listen to their music anymore. You

24:35

know what, Let's get back to viticulture

24:39

vida who yeah, um,

24:43

RONI yes,

24:46

run. Here's the thing. We

24:50

only got so much time on this big blue marble,

24:53

and I

24:55

mean, it just keeps spinning and spinning

24:57

and spinning. What's your question? I'm

25:00

gonna get to it. Four

25:02

eyes. Sorry,

25:06

why did I say that? Because I'm glasses

25:08

all right, I don't

25:10

I like your glasses. I apologize. That

25:13

was uncalled for. It's okay, you don't think at

25:15

emotional. They

25:18

just discovered a black hole, you

25:20

know, that was cool. Yeah,

25:23

but we're all

25:25

we're all heading for that black hole. That's

25:27

the thing and I can't stop thinking about.

25:30

All right, Yeah,

25:32

you might see a nap or so. Anyway,

25:37

you're my best friend. Whom

25:41

Who am I looking at? I could

25:43

be looking at Carolina. You're

25:45

both my best you're you're both my

25:47

best friends. Ronnie, you're my new

25:49

best friend, and you're

25:51

a little I get

25:54

get a good feeling about you. So I'll

25:56

put you number one best friend, Carolina number

25:58

two. Thank you? But

26:01

um woy okay,

26:04

cool, Oh

26:08

it's been a long day for you.

26:13

Come on, ah

26:18

gosh,

26:21

if you want to read some advertisements,

26:26

let's get to some mad copy. Ronnie,

26:29

do you have time to stay?

26:32

I think she has to go because she was just here for the interview.

26:34

Okay, I just

26:36

wonder if you walk at that door, Ronny. Sorry,

26:39

I gotta go. I will never speak to you again. I'm

26:41

so sorry. I will never speak to

26:43

you. Wow. Well it's been really nice. Oh

26:46

you're doing it. Yeah, I gotta go. Okay,

26:50

but I'll see you around. Yeah, famous

26:52

last words. Bye bye,

26:55

Ronnie. Nice to me. You. Thank you so much for coming

26:57

on the podcast. It was really amazing. Right,

27:00

do you want I have a couple of bottles of Chateau Diane

27:03

if you want to take on your way. She

27:05

just need that, right,

27:08

okay, but thank you. Okay, we'll

27:10

get the door. Sorry, she

27:14

wait, Ronnie. She

27:17

was my best friend and

27:19

you're my enemy. And as

27:21

promised, we are joined by feminist

27:24

icon Glorious Steinham. Gloria,

27:26

I just have to ask you this coming

27:28

out of the gate. What's up, my

27:31

lady. It's

27:34

an honor, Gloria.

27:37

You you worked undercover as a playboy

27:40

bunny when you were a journalist. Um,

27:43

during that experience, did you run into any misogyny?

27:48

Misogyny? Well, probably

27:51

not because they were not smart enough to know what

27:53

the word was, so yeah, tell

27:55

me about it. It was. It was just wall

27:57

to wall exploitation. It

28:00

was an assignment to write an article

28:02

and X was a I had invented

28:04

a background of being a secretary

28:06

and wanting a more interesting job

28:09

because the advertisements for being

28:11

a bunny said that this was a glamorous, wonderful

28:13

job. But the bunny mother who

28:17

interviewed me said, honey, if you

28:19

can type, you don't want to work here. That

28:21

should have been a warning. That should have been warning.

28:24

Was that in Was that in Chicago? No

28:27

here in New York? And

28:29

yet I don't know if people

28:31

even know what Playboy magazine is

28:35

nowadays, you know, you know, I'm sorry

28:37

to say that that now here in Manhattan

28:40

a Playboy club has just opened,

28:43

even though it was given

28:45

up as totally out

28:47

of date, even by Hefner. So

28:49

I'm not quite sure how the one here

28:52

is able to call itself a Playboy club,

28:54

but it's pretty crazy that

28:56

they just opened it a few months ago. Well,

28:59

I used to have I had a subscription for

29:01

as long as I can remember. And I'm not just

29:03

saying this because I'm talking to you. I

29:06

read it strictly for the articles.

29:10

Uh, you know, they had a formula

29:12

even in the articles that in

29:15

no way were women allowed to win.

29:18

I mean that was was Hefner's formula. You

29:20

know, whatever was printed or

29:22

whatever was photographed, it

29:24

had to be clear that men were

29:27

dominant. Holy smokes,

29:31

you and a sat in pajamas? Huh? Well,

29:33

I do think he was kind of pathetic

29:35

and insecure, you

29:40

know what. I once gotten a fist fight with

29:42

him at the Playboy Mansion. No

29:44

kidding. Well, they lost my car. The

29:46

valet lost my car, and

29:48

so I had to spend three weeks at the Playboy Mansion.

29:51

Um, it was. It

29:54

was the worst three weeks of my life because

29:56

of all the Missalgermy. Yeah,

30:09

all right, this has been

30:12

the best of season two. Uh.

30:14

That was a real fun stroll

30:17

down memory lane, wasn't it, Carolina? I had

30:19

the best time. It really reminded me of

30:21

some past trauma I've had on this

30:23

shell, some joy somewhere,

30:26

some past trauma. Hey, it's

30:29

I've ever promised you a rose garden? Well,

30:33

you actually did say that I would

30:35

be getting a rose garden. I

30:38

did. You said, don't worry about

30:40

it. Don't worry about it. At some point in time, you will

30:42

be getting a rose garden. And

30:45

I have yet to deliver on that promise. Um,

30:50

but I'm gonna put that on my to do list,

30:53

my honeydew list, except

30:56

I don't have a honey to hand it to me. So

31:00

with that, we put old

31:03

season two into the time capsule and

31:06

send it off and chuck it over

31:08

the edge of the ship and let that

31:10

corked bottle bob to some unknown

31:13

shore. That's beautiful. I

31:15

mean this will be recording released but right,

31:19

but still it's fun to give it

31:21

some sort of mystique. Um,

31:24

thanks again for listening. Uh this

31:26

is Ron Burgundy uh on

31:29

behalf of Carolina saying so

31:32

long shalom

31:37

and that Easter

31:44

podcast. Hey

31:54

Mama,

32:02

Hi, don't tell

32:04

you b
