1:53
Hustle side gigs, creative endeavors that people
1:55

1:57
Was the actual moment where you.
2:00
Roka generational conditioning around scarcity and
2:02
on walked it into abundance for
2:04
you were comforted into money entering
2:06
your hands and your bank accounts.
2:08
or as it's it's it's weird
2:11
because I was a sprinkler I
2:13
think of me and like sixteen
2:15
thousand dollars a year. Of.
2:18
You. Know and and driving a limo it and night to make
2:20
ends meet. Arm. And.
2:23
My roommate at the time. Was.
2:25
A waiter a mega like seventy seven thousand dollars
2:27
a year and I think it's. I can
2:29
always we tables but I wasn't in it for
2:31
the sixteen thousand right? I was enough for career
2:33
path in the early. make a bunch of money
2:35
as I can a weird thing and was kinda
2:37
like. If. I lose my ego with
2:39
ahead no evil. Back then I was driving a limo. he
2:42
doesn't have a day. I was like if I lose my
2:44
edo. Can always get a job. I.
2:47
Can always get a job. Not. Gonna be
2:49
completely must make I might be born
2:51
I've been. Broke before and I'm
2:53
okay with that. Not hungry times, right? Like.
2:56
Yeah. I'm good friends. goof off, do whatever.
2:59
But. He. Gave me kind of this. Freedom.
3:03
Like. There's this safety net of
3:05
like. And will be able to
3:07
find something. right? And
3:09
I remember I'm one of the as yams
3:12
I were for the sky the mark and
3:14
he was like. A Speed garbage. I
3:16
run a of this. they said displays down. I can.
3:18
I can always I was I was shocked. To. Even
3:20
like so. You. Know if
3:23
I lose my ego about like
3:25
and to proud do this job
3:27
right? Then. I
3:29
can always go work. You know it. It didn't
3:31
hear some way more jobs and way more opportunities
3:34
and I don't have the fear of like moving
3:36
to another place to get the job or going
3:38
to another place, etc. The you know it's It's
3:40
painful for a lot of people. And
3:43
people out of the fear of going into new of i'm it.
3:46
Ah, I'm and moving and which I
3:48
think the limits them to are only
3:51
local opportunities. But for me,
3:53
As a I'll go anywhere for the opportunity
3:55
Ago Siberia, you know, In. Our was
3:57
one of those dumb young ambitious people that
3:59
will lay out put me on the moon
4:02
I will trade program. For
4:04
like when I got the chance at as a New York
4:06
City, I've. Left didn't know
4:08
anybody had a mattress, an empty room and
4:11
you know I'll be there. You know sir.
4:13
Yes sir. Let's go. Ray.
4:15
And so and if that didn't work out.
4:18
So. At my side adventures I want.
4:20
I want the scars like I once
4:22
like a life with no mistakes to
4:24
me. Is he on an
4:26
interesting life and unfulfilling life? Actually know
4:29
like you haven't touched filaments you you
4:31
don't know your limits, or because you
4:33
never fail. The
4:35
fittings always work in. Our new veil is
4:37
like what. You never touch the limits. You
4:39
never really sent this. it's a T. Run
4:41
so hard where you are, oh up and
4:43
you're about to pass out. which you know
4:45
I did in college when he's the make
4:48
you run into Pegasus. Ever hear you don't
4:50
know your limits right? Like you don't know
4:52
when you're struggling with the weights? Rate like.
4:54
Me physically, but like also emotionally. like
4:56
until. You've. Said I love you
4:58
for us and you've gone through the break and
5:00
you've done everything you can Silicious have like you
5:03
just don't know. Like this is as much as
5:05
I could give in a relationship. Yeah right. This
5:07
is as much as I can do this as
5:09
as far as I can go. cigarette out this
5:12
business and into bring and help or partners whatever
5:14
you know like they're all those things and so.
5:18
I'm. Wanting. A fulfilling
5:20
ride is the goal. right?
5:23
Literally the money. the money is only it's
5:25
all the get the fulfillment now of i
5:27
have fancy fulfillment things eight and the do
5:30
it but. And I am learning
5:32
how to use that tool to drive of
5:34
of my fulfillment. But I'm also learning. Hey.
5:36
from other professionals and other verticals and a health
5:38
like. How optimize my
5:41
health This time management box? How to
5:43
optimize my. And as
5:45
even into what but it is like. How
5:47
do we hit them? Better deal to get the same
5:49
experience and same fulfillment points when I go to Greece.
5:52
Or don't do that hotel. Get the air Bnb. it'll
5:54
be nicer you actually amorphous homeowner. Be cheaper, near more
5:56
money for the trip. Can span. Rate.
5:59
Some to say. At a macro level
6:01
you know this is how these things interact and
6:03
this is how you should be thinking about there
6:05
are your life with then you can go into
6:07
each vertical and sub optimizers or bread movie and
6:10
so I'm. But. What was as
6:12
psychological moment for you were you realized
6:14
our i'm actually good at making money.
6:16
Oh wow and I'm like okay I'm
6:18
make and sixteen grand a year and
6:20
I'm working a nice the an hour
6:23
drive in a limo and but actually
6:25
I'm breaking through the generational conditioning that
6:27
I live in scarcity to Now I
6:29
live in abundance or have the potential
6:31
to live in abundance. How did you
6:34
learn that you are worthy in deserving
6:36
of more money? How did you learn
6:38
that you are capable of generating. Wealth.
6:43
Oh wow. I. Don't
6:45
know if. I
6:47
learned it or I just believed it
6:50
and it became. Really? So I
6:52
always tell people like. I. Think
6:54
one of my advantages was that I
6:56
was delusional. And so
6:58
they wouldn't. They wouldn't mean I was like lick I
7:01
believed I can do it. And.
7:03
That drove my decisions. Neither didn't mean I
7:05
wasn't any successful. I could easily believes ever
7:07
done it and and at just never have
7:09
done it right, try to a hundred times
7:11
a day out and brand welcome. Yeah, but
7:13
the fact that I had that delusion. And.
7:15
That belief that I can do it that
7:17
are. You could throw me the desert and
7:19
I'd have a fighting chance. I'd figure it
7:21
out. I drink my own p I do
7:23
whatever you may not like, right? right? And
7:25
it whatever it's and whatever days. I'm just
7:27
gonna go it like I had this illusion
7:29
that I could do it and because his
7:31
ass mississippi the desert. Going to big officer
7:34
says that. Sometimes
7:36
you get a zig. You may be
7:38
avoided either, and he is either. Eris,
7:40
you know you dial Rehydrate a better
7:43
you know. Eat. Of eat the
7:45
bugs or a bad omen. That.
7:48
Delusion. Seventy. The course to
7:50
try. And. To learn. And. So
7:52
when I was learning and wasn't like couldn't learn this
7:54
are could learn options, trading or com. When I was
7:56
like i can do this I do this because I
7:58
had to illusion and so I. I think
8:00
the police. Is. Powerful they
8:03
had very about how get their belief
8:05
most people don't believe in themselves on
8:07
a nuff to believe there are deserving
8:09
and worthy of. Money.
8:11
Of well south. Abundance.
8:13
How did you get to? Believe.
8:15
You are deserve Okay so
8:18
I had a very ah.
8:21
Topsy. Turvy relationship with my dad. He
8:23
came from a different generation. Hard.
8:25
Boiled right. He. Was pre
8:28
civil rights? you know? Dreams
8:30
or Swastika was openly squash and legally squashed
8:33
right? Like in this any in and in
8:35
I was born. Post. Civil
8:37
Rights? Okay. And. So.
8:40
I'm. One of the things
8:42
and I don't want turn us into a whole
8:44
racial story but one of the advantages. Of
8:46
growing up in Jersey City, being
8:49
black. Is. That. People.
8:53
In that period. People talk about
8:55
you. Your. Your accuser this why
8:57
you're people like this. You know you're inferior.
8:59
You can't do this or whatever as so
9:02
what you develop Okay. The the
9:04
good side of that is. He.
9:06
What? People think. Even
9:08
site. Ill using your know
9:11
it's true about you and your people in your
9:13
relatives or whatever. Not bad people were not. criminals
9:15
are not whatever and not this amount of fury.
9:17
I'm not whatever she's learned to brush that all
9:19
off. right? And my
9:21
dad was a bad ass. And. He's like.
9:24
You can you know you do whatever you
9:26
people with week the quit all the are
9:28
are are adversity. We. Have to
9:30
deal with and we overcome Ray
9:32
and so. That not
9:34
giving a what people think moon
9:37
and only listening to your dreams.
9:39
Is. A Superpower Swords in Adversity Direct
9:42
answer Little and so like I
9:44
just you just leave so you
9:46
know. Lot of what we're only on cable do you think
9:48
or whatever nothing in this about when I'm I'm just like. On
9:50
the Avenue. And like I said, it's nice
9:53
up here. That's their problem, right? Like N
9:55
N, everybody cares a little bit, right? idea?
9:58
To. The extent that. People's
10:00
thoughts will interfere with my
10:02
priorities. I care more. Rate
10:05
but in general on the not giving
10:07
a. Scale. I'm. On
10:09
the further scale, because I grew up in a period
10:11
where you know I was born in Sixty Nine. right?
10:14
There's a veto racial attitudes going on
10:16
which is coming out of the sixties
10:19
right arm. You
10:21
know, being having that.
10:24
And then just to have an India was
10:26
that prepares you. You. Know for
10:28
this period, right? Like. The
10:31
food still you.will embark on skin color you
10:33
thought I was in fear at birth. on
10:36
skin color he thought this about me on
10:38
skiing or on skin color. So. Gruesome.
10:40
Give us. right?
10:42
And so my Dad. And.
10:45
The trainings of being a minority
10:47
in the city during that time
10:49
period prepare me for like. Who.
10:52
Cares I'm already a fork vi my eyes.
10:54
Rights to some people who are maybe of
10:57
grow up in a lot of a similar
10:59
adversities or worse or little bit less adversities.
11:01
They might take that adversity and say well,
11:04
I. Don't have the skills. I'm never going
11:06
to be able to do the to do
11:08
that. Yeah I agree and they stay stuck
11:10
in that they don't say because of this
11:12
adversity, I don't care and I'm gonna go
11:14
for they say because of this adversity this
11:17
is who I am. I think I'm a
11:19
seats you know. I
11:21
think it's a. I
11:23
think the victim stories marketed to people and if
11:25
don't take that more victim story I think they
11:27
would have the same experience as me really arm
11:30
but I you know I don't our go too
11:32
deep into but I would just say that. Ah,
11:35
I'm. And wasn't
11:37
conscious. Are. You suspended. You.
11:39
Know this is just have pride. right?
11:41
Your the underdog pride and and it
11:43
came. and I guess some people they
11:46
might have you know. I
11:48
was lucky I had a a father and
11:50
a mother right who you know to college
11:52
educated parents from my dad the a scholarship
11:54
in my mom later on in life. Ah,
11:57
I'm and so if anybody was designed
11:59
to see. Feed it was me. But.
12:01
There were, you know, when I was little my own and
12:04
it's time for me to do it on my owner or
12:06
three, you know, The. Who
12:08
moves from New York City to Texas to
12:10
go in like. The. Things, The
12:12
decisions I made, Were. Cause of
12:14
this like. It can be done.
12:16
You know what I'd when I had. Ah,
12:19
Not that much experience but I knew I
12:22
can recruit people a bit. Linden do this.
12:24
A solid develop and project and in in
12:26
the Nevada desert. right? And then
12:28
sold it to. Capital Dynamics
12:30
Ray and and and mean my friends
12:32
and myself have a good chunk of
12:34
change and also putting Soul on the
12:37
grid. Like. Eight Just this belief that you
12:39
can figure it out and you can do it. And
12:41
so I guess that there are some people who.
12:44
Get dell the clouds of
12:46
inferiority. And it's done some
12:49
yes and our our I would I
12:51
would hope that some by somebody somewhere
12:53
along the line. Slips. It. For.
12:56
Them, You know, Solicit. Form
12:58
and says this is a badge of honor.
13:00
Man like you, you got nothing another To
13:03
Israel I rise era It has nothing to
13:05
lose. Your i don't whatever nobody expects anything
13:07
from you. So when you know pressure, no
13:09
pressure know for a circus to be your
13:11
greatest gifts. discover your greatest guess and so
13:13
for me I think it's the if you
13:15
know my greatest gift was like not giving.
13:17
And my willingness to look like a fool.
13:19
There were some just winging life like everybody
13:21
else. a relapse. When. He it
13:23
right And so ah. and I'm trying
13:25
to figure things out and I'm I'm I
13:28
wrote this book for me, And
13:30
then I figured if I if I can. You.
13:33
Know save my own life like not
13:35
waste my own life. Up
13:37
at it and maybe we'll be useful
13:39
to other people, Yes, right, But occasionally.
13:42
Ammo I get somehow stuck on autopilot meow and
13:44
I need to go back in a book. or
13:46
my wife need to remind me like hate, hate
13:48
hate. You know. The. Sixth District. let's
13:50
listless get occupied by riot litter of
13:52
the get off autopilot. That. You
13:55
know you're doing these things your planes been chess on live
13:57
like houses on the muscle filming thing to do for you
13:59
to be doing it. Right now it's not. I'm
14:01
deleting. Okay said. I really. I get out and
14:03
things like that right is up. There is more
14:05
things that a deep and than that but I
14:07
think. That early
14:09
experience and my dad gave
14:11
me the confidence. Ah
14:13
seen him. Do it for
14:16
in much harder circumstances, right? Much
14:18
deeper clouds of inferiority. Ah
14:20
much more hard not like to look at
14:22
that and an other people and left like
14:25
I'm like you know I go places. And.
14:28
I get inspired by people who
14:31
make it being. You. Know a
14:33
lot of people, About you know
14:35
the oh what they had this help or with
14:37
it they look for the thing that was a
14:39
one piece of help but they still over Camelot.
14:41
I'm like wow. I'm. Pretty lazy
14:43
lake. Is that person A Do It. And.
14:46
Look at all even is I have you
14:48
know, born a nice of America. growing economy,
14:51
growing population. I'm jobs technology. I just was
14:53
born in such a great error like I
14:55
unlike I can ride this ways I could
14:57
surface with I can do it Now I'm
15:00
going a surface wave Allies. And.
15:02
Navigate it the way I wanna know,
15:04
you know? And so I just had
15:06
this delusional belief and it happen to
15:09
work out with amazing. You've been around
15:11
a todos wealthy individuals. the. Billionaires,
15:14
mega millionaires, And
15:16
you have also been around a lot of broke people
15:18
who are in a ton of death or people who
15:20
have lost all their money. You. Seen the
15:22
both sides of the spectrum. From.
15:25
Your perspective at this stage would you
15:27
say of the three keys to really.
15:30
making more money, And.
15:32
Also been fulfilled with the
15:34
money your house. I'm okay
15:37
so. Three. Keys to
15:39
making more money. Ah
15:41
I I will ask the say that like
15:43
on the earning part like you know that
15:46
lot of people who speak better to making
15:48
more money by I will speak just more
15:50
up in terms of like. Psychology.
15:52
Yes and belief is is this
15:55
belief that. You.
15:57
Can and you're entitled. And.
16:00
So when you think you can, you read the book.
16:03
You. Read the business book, you read the
16:05
sound so you make the attempt, etc. I.
16:08
In a lot of people, just sit the stance. Don't.
16:12
I got a bad know Nemo take a sense. Not
16:14
only will you. Take. The swing your
16:16
strike, you do it again and you do it again
16:18
and again. I was just talking with somebody on twitter
16:20
and like all yeah I break replies it isn't it
16:23
Great. A bankrupt. And. Now
16:25
he's still go out nerd and take another
16:27
swing. Lose the ego attachment. let get get
16:29
the got the endless Rip it again you
16:31
know. And so that's and that's what is
16:33
in America. right? Like the somebody people it's
16:35
failure. Stories embark like Steve Jobs got fired
16:37
and rehired. You know, like things like that,
16:39
right? Likely all these learning that you get
16:41
like why you went to school. This.
16:44
Expensive school, but you know Muskogee that subject
16:46
matter sees with the next thing was an
16:48
extreme on your plate. Just as so when
16:50
you believe you can, you start to take
16:52
actions that actually. Develop. Your
16:54
ability to do it. Yes, And then
16:57
and then. so. That. That
16:59
is one. On. The.
17:02
This that. Are we've already
17:04
been talking about it? You. Have
17:06
to. Use. The
17:08
saying like never tell your dreams to your
17:10
parents that you want to do it because
17:12
even though they love you. They. So
17:15
you as a teenager and in take out the
17:17
garbage right? So they're always I call you sure
17:19
you really want to do that. Physicists a job
17:21
like you have such a good thing going on.
17:23
Like you can just get a job at the
17:25
post office or whatever. Like they are
17:27
are frayed for you. Great to go
17:29
on your eventually want to protect you
17:32
and he also seen you when you're
17:34
clown years for a i'm not the
17:36
new bad vulgar array and so ascendant.
17:38
Also you know. Is.
17:41
As much as your of. Friends
17:44
and N N N N. And.
17:46
Maybe some your peer group made love You
17:49
were not. A
17:51
lot of people. Behave. Out
17:53
of fear. Then. Well, as like idiot,
17:55
they had a great idea. They had a thing they want
17:57
to do and they don't do. They tried it and it
17:59
failed. Or they don't to do they
18:02
don't Already know though is why? Yeah,
18:04
so your success exposes their cowardice and.
18:07
right? I began. their your success
18:09
exposes their cowardice, right? So when
18:11
you go out and you fail.
18:14
Be. Like see. I.
18:16
Am on right not to go do that. See what he
18:18
did he went on sale he i told them he said
18:20
to do that I was crazy why they do that right?
18:22
So they feel comfortable in their seats. Life.
18:25
And their cowardice. To. Get a date,
18:27
invalid their dreams, or take the risk or whatever.
18:29
But if you go succeed. I'm
18:33
a coward like I had a chance is I
18:35
could have done this. I. Could have
18:37
been work. I could grind it for your two
18:39
years of no word. Live and eat ramen, and
18:41
and and and and been successful for eight. So.
18:44
I always say people like success.
18:47
But. They love of failure. right?
18:50
They love us earlier! Because. It. Reaffirms
18:54
that they do in the right thing in
18:56
in the in and near. Not cowards, And
18:58
so. Be. Very,
19:00
very careful. About. Your
19:03
mindset. That. You're getting
19:05
from other people? mean? Right
19:07
and. Success. Is not just
19:10
doing the thing and making it's ss and
19:12
living off of the life is is about
19:14
the ride. You know a lot
19:16
of people I said always easy for you
19:18
say when as listen I've gone both like
19:20
busted twice like I've been fired, I've been
19:22
whatever and his men. Sat. Is
19:24
being Glee. That. Has been
19:26
great was you're not a getting fired, get
19:28
admired, getting embarrassed, humiliated people Targets Mind your
19:31
back in enemy now he's a clown or
19:33
he can do this like is parliament's like
19:35
I learned who my friends word who were
19:38
I know vocal supporters were and oh oh
19:40
weren't I learned about myself Lake. Do.
19:42
I care to are not care what things
19:44
really upset me. What? Mistakes that I'd What
19:46
did I mistakes? like? where did I get lazy? Where
19:48
did I get off track on vision? You
19:50
know, I. I'm. If
19:53
it is about that, it was gray and then. You.
19:55
Know Syria on this side of the coin,
19:58
but like. Sort. Of and great. You
20:00
know I did. I tried to
20:03
do some huge project in Central
20:05
America, went bust own vaporized and
20:07
million dollars died a lot.like years
20:09
time. Meetings, whatever else exists
20:12
and edit and it's gone. I
20:14
try to do or importation project
20:16
in California. Learned all about permitting
20:18
in California. Than that that interest
20:20
groups accent or cause the right
20:22
you know. And and and
20:24
wasn't It wasn't like. Now. Where have
20:26
a bunch of money was like I was a
20:28
very they older model. As
20:31
like ah, we massacre back on staff here.
20:33
Busy area though the you know and so.
20:36
I. Think it's like. Really? Be
20:38
careful. About how
20:40
you speak yourself in the people you keep
20:42
around you and who you share your dreams.
20:44
Worthwhile to say and a therapy amen. Third
20:46
thing. As
20:49
a third thing, consistency. mouth. Take.
20:52
It Seriously. Or. A or lot of people
20:55
like they'll have an idea. And. They're about to
20:57
go into the execution face, so ideas are like a
20:59
dime a dozen. May. It
21:01
it. Does. No market for ideas it
21:04
I think program says rate kids go
21:06
other say this idea of now exists
21:08
business you could sell the Uscis to
21:10
soak like ninety something percent of it
21:12
is the execution and they go any
21:14
execution face. And I'll take you seriously. You.
21:18
Know. This. Is your dream? This is your
21:20
life. You. Know.
21:22
People. Take Video games. Ah,
21:25
I'm. Simple. Things you
21:27
know: Party things. More
21:29
seriously and then they'll take their their dreams
21:31
play and so for dream is this business
21:33
with this idea or take some way of
21:35
making money. I'm. And
21:38
it could just be like shown up for work
21:40
on time right? like eighty doesn't have to be
21:42
the like and starting this aren't for nor they
21:44
could just be like think if I want to
21:47
be the best person, being consistent and taking it
21:49
seriously. Now taking it very seriously, I'm like more
21:51
money comes to you when you show the universe
21:53
how consisting you are with where you can use
21:55
all your resources like as if your life depends
21:58
on it. And and the funny thing is. Neither.
22:00
The hours are your life has your life. Does depend on
22:03
it this is or like. This is
22:05
a time period and some people it's a good old
22:07
are all see guys. Come in with pitches are things
22:09
I'm like did you do this Uses resources or whatever
22:11
someplace they couldn't thought of it as not like they
22:13
couldn't have done it. It is didn't because it
22:15
and take it seriously and. You.
22:17
Know so use all your resources
22:19
at your disposal to drive or
22:21
fulfillment. If you're fulfillment is this
22:23
job and making money. Or. This
22:26
idea. Use. All your resources
22:28
at your disposal. To. Make it
22:30
happen and take it seriously. And so I think a
22:32
lot of people are. Are flip
22:34
it with their own dreams. I.
22:36
Don't know why and I think it it comes down
22:38
to the. On. I've
22:41
done it before to I've done it in school. It's one
22:43
of those things were like you had the sphere that you
22:45
can do well. See, don't try your best. Yeah.
22:48
I mean like they like, oh. I'm.
22:51
A free of failing. Some Santa do my best.
22:53
So when I. When. I say on that side
22:55
and I really try. That hard in a to I
22:58
wasn't really trying to lift it, you know, like
23:00
that might. I wasn't really stressed out wherever. And
23:02
so you're like, you have this excuse that you
23:04
didn't try hard. So that's why you failed wise
23:06
and so it makes your ego feel good. and
23:08
I've I've done that before and I think other
23:10
people do too. I don't have. These are the
23:12
three keys and are you take out of that
23:14
player? I think it's something that young people can
23:16
take home with a nice. you see if that
23:18
applies to them. My
23:23
career not only requires me to travel, but also
23:25
gives me the freedom to. probably has brought me
23:27
so many positive experiences and memories like that Time
23:29
I spend the holidays at an Air B M
23:32
be in Big Bear with some of my standard
23:34
family in. It was the perfect way to come
23:36
together and connect with my family that I don't
23:38
see that off. And if you have a similar
23:40
setup that allows you to travel often, have you
23:43
ever thought about your empty home while you're gone?
23:45
More specifically, how you can make some extra money
23:47
by keeping your home occupied while you're out of
23:49
town. I'm a big advocate for setting up a
23:52
side. Hustle to give you an extra stream
23:54
of income and Air B M be hosting
23:56
is an easy place to start. Many people
23:58
host on Air B M B, including some
24:00
friends of mine, but they are some people out
24:02
there who's never even realize their space could be.
24:04
and Air Bnb hosting can easily fit into
24:06
your lifestyle and is a great way to earn
24:08
some extra money. So if you have a home
24:11
but you're not always at home, you've got yourself
24:13
and Air Bnb. your home might be worth
24:15
more than you think. Find out how much had
24:17

25:57
been a lot of changes or the last few years with
25:59
the. The. Financial world with the
26:01
ass race was real. stay with. People.
26:04
Losing jobs with you know, whoever knows
26:06
what's happening. How. Can
26:08
we were picked? Be prepared for
26:10
what's the com financially. Whether it's
26:12
incredible financially or as saw a
26:14
nightmare financially, what can we do
26:17
today? To start been better prepared
26:19
so that. We. Are Not. As
26:21
affected as we can be. I
26:24
think. Diversification is really
26:27
important, so that's. Making.
26:30
Sure that you have an emergency fund making
26:32
sure that there's money you are investing in
26:34
the Sakara it through index funds are. Diversify
26:36
your not as buying like one stock and be
26:38
like that that like rather die. Like it's
26:40
not like that. I'm. You
26:42
want to be really diversified? You want
26:44
to be buying some bonds? You want
26:47
to be buying equities. You wanna consider?
26:49
Maybe investing in real estate? Maybe that's
26:51
fine. You know, an actual physical property
26:53
or is investing in. Funds with us or
26:55
something or less. I'm. I.
26:57
Also think that like. There.
27:01
Is. A disconnects right now
27:03
from like a mindset perspective. Of.
27:07
A lot of people. And.
27:10
Not to get on the site. Ra Ra. So Fox the.
27:13
By. So.
27:16
Many. People. Now
27:18
aspire to a life that,
27:21
frankly. They will never
27:23
be within their means while and I say
27:25
that a nice I know it's harsh. But.
27:29
Keeping. Up with a gene that has become Keeping up
27:31
with the Kardashians. Because. You had
27:33
it on your phone. You can see this immense
27:35
amount of wealth that like in any other reality.
27:38
Like. And before aren't ya parents have regressed my
27:40
some you never able to see it right? Like.
27:43
People have always had yachts but now you see a yacht
27:45
like every other. Day life partner course like this
27:47
a great whatever. But I should have gone
27:49
to and so you got pupil spending money
27:51
like it's going out of style to keep
27:54
up. And. It
27:56
doesn't make sense. I know people
27:58
who only take. Cars.
28:01
I. Make. Seven
28:04
figures a year. And I am
28:06
ready to get into the Toyota Camry that
28:08
picks me up for now like. It's.
28:10
Crazy to me. That. There
28:13
is just again. This.
28:17
Almost. Like. Desired like
28:19
fake it till you may get of like. In.
28:22
On this this trend of like the
28:24
lulu like deludes all. Like. Yes,
28:27
in some way, that's great because you want to
28:29
apply for jobs that you're on, qualified for. You
28:31
want to do things that are outside your comfort
28:34
zone. But like. That. Also put
28:36
you know really precarious situation. Very.
28:38
Quickly Mode: Is it possible for
28:40
anyone to become wealthy? or to
28:42
become rich? Or is it only
28:44
for a certain mindset where certain
28:46
demographic of people? yeah. I think.
28:49
Anybody who wants to have
28:52
money anybody wants hadn't been
28:54
richness can get their butts.
28:57
It certainly is not as easy
28:59
as everyone on the internet makes
29:01
it seem. It's not Ra, Ra,
29:03
Amazon, drop shipping, rob wholesale real
29:05
estate, Ra by some life insurance
29:07
and you're going to get like
29:09
that does not it On. And
29:11
I think a big conversation that like. We.
29:14
Don't talk ladder like proximity. right?
29:17
So like. In.
29:19
My life now. I have many
29:21
which home. And those
29:24
rich plans. Provide me
29:26
additional rich. Opportunities
29:28
so. I'd actually go
29:30
to the Us open. On. A
29:33
bank thing? because. My.
29:36
Fiance worked with a guy who
29:38
is at investment bank and yet
29:41
for tickets took him his wife,
29:43
my fiance myself. Those.
29:45
Tickets are thousand dollars. I like
29:47
the reverse now that I have.
29:50
Friends who. Had
29:53
and credit an incredible accountants. Had
29:55
in a great team in terms of
29:58
financial for business and they're like. That
30:00
might him. That I got hooked up with
30:02
my the as a manager. If.
30:04
You don't have that proximity to people
30:06
who have money to done it to
30:08
plead the playbook. How. Are
30:10
you going to learn it? because. Sure,
30:13
If you are a young person growing
30:15
up low income. And
30:17
you want to make smart money decisions.
30:20
work very hard in school, get good
30:22
grades, do the American Dream thing. And
30:24
you go you can harbor case. You.
30:26
Get a Harvard the rich kids don't want to
30:29
be friends with you put up because you can't
30:31
afford to split the table at the club on
30:33
Friday night long. You can't afford to pay for
30:35
the dues for your final club or another call.
30:37
It. Hope you.
30:39
Don't have the. Money. To get you there. So.
30:42
I think the process of becoming
30:44
wealthy and becoming rich and having
30:46
money. It's. Available
30:49
to anyone. But the
30:51
trajectory in the timeline is very. Very different interests.
30:53
I swear you start or proximity alone isn't
30:55
enough is what I'm here is says you
30:58
could have the grades are the skills. And
31:00
the proximity. but you don't have the money
31:03
still. Then. People may not for what are you?
31:05
Are you? So. I'm saying that proximity makes
31:07
it easier. There are so if you
31:09
grow up rich. And.
31:12
Your parents are, you know?
31:14
Very very. Tough.
31:17
And they're like we're not leaving a painting that
31:19
you still grew up around. all those rich. People
31:21
is also access contact yeah,
31:23
information exactly. Any silver, all the
31:25
soft skills. Whereas. Someone whose parents
31:27
are like i believe that every dollar I
31:30
have but they grow up. Lower.
31:32
Middle class. They. Don't
31:34
have that proximity. That you
31:36
had growing up. What skill
31:38
share the employees be developing
31:40
throughout the year or years?
31:42
Had a veto? a career
31:44
multiple Korea's what. What? Can the
31:46
developed to make themselves more indispensable besides just like
31:48
a ham doing the job and I'm so and
31:51
I've been doing it? Should. I be
31:53
taking classes so that we learning public
31:55
speaking should I be honest some other
31:57
skills and learning. To. Make myself
31:59
more the fireball at the current job
32:02
or on another voice. Yeah, I
32:05
think every job been good at your
32:07
technical skill is great. For. You
32:09
want to have transferable skills and bees
32:11
are the sauce skill. Brian The that you
32:13
know that. What? Is it? Talbot Just. Again,
32:16
it goes back to those fork and knife
32:18
skills. Yeah, you want to be will have
32:20
a conversation with just about anyone. You want
32:22
to be able to make someone feel special
32:24
And I feel so lucky because. After.
32:27
My stint on Wall Street. I
32:30
when worked at a media company. In
32:32
strategy, sales. And
32:34
let me tell you. Sales.
32:38
That. Is another beast because you
32:40
eat what you kill and. I.
32:44
Got. Some sales training that you
32:46
know my. Company I miss It Had thousands
32:48
and thousands of dollars for and. I.
32:50
Don't member any of it except for one thing. W.
32:54
I S. M. When.
32:56
You get over. That means. W. I I
32:58
ask her out he lied who are
33:00
fm half. From. It
33:05
is. How
33:08
stay? What if Something but amateur?
33:11
Okay, so you got the w
33:13
what? what's in it for me?
33:15
Ah, so. We always
33:17
know. What? We want
33:19
what's in it for us. But.
33:22
What's in it for me? Frock for the other person.
33:25
Why? Do they need to help you do that thing and this?
33:27
If I always get what I want. I
33:29
know nothing about it. I
33:32
always think at the other under the table. Wasn't
33:34
it for that person? Like it's
33:37
like the problem is that was interfere if
33:39

34:39
like me, She doesn't want to help me. What?
34:42
Can I say. That. Is going. To.
34:45
Make. Her want to help me. So.
34:48
Maybe it's. Hey.
34:50
I know you got a crazy crowd
34:52
control thing happening going on. When.
34:55
Do you think we are going to have
34:57

34:59
like to just rebook my flight that way
35:02

35:04
Then they're like. Oh okay this
35:06

35:08
just a baby see pick one for them whichever
35:10

37:09
and speak about money and make it more
37:11
of a. Calmer practices,
37:13
just. Having a conversation over
37:15
coffee and just relaxing it will be less
37:17
stressful in in the future. Doesn't have to
37:19
be an icky top at doesn't have to
37:21
be. I love the. Live
37:23
in a subpar forgot to front of
37:25
questions for you mrs a question as
37:27
everyone. Towards the end it's called the
37:29
Three Truths. Hypothetical.
37:31
Question and scenario: Imagine you get to
37:34
live as long as you want. Cruel
37:36
but K allows day. To.
37:38
Live as long as you want to live up. Ask what
37:40
we're at the last day of your your life tech. Can
37:43
be a hundred some years old. Two hundred. Okay.
37:45
my had about my body deteriorated. You're still pervert.
37:47
Hell of a great you know he. Are you
37:49
still a great in of hacker? Your.
37:51
Filthy Rich. You've accomplished. Everything you want
37:53
are complex. You've got a beautiful life,
37:55
family, everything you want. It's happened. But.
37:58
At the last day and you've got a T. All of
38:00
your work with you to the next
38:02
place. So. The Book is gone.
38:05
This interviews gone. Everything you've ever created for
38:07
whatever reason is gone. But.
38:09
You get to leave behind three lessons in
38:11
the world and this is all we have
38:13
turned my remember you buy. I. Caught
38:16
three Truths or would be there for you. Wow.
38:19
Okay, wasn't prepared for that lion.
38:21
That is an excellent question. I
38:26
would say. The
38:30
first. Always. Buy them
38:32
the chicken parm and this has to
38:34
see it off. There's a little that
38:36
I actually managed. A luxury barb to
38:38
credible they sell the third amazing Take a
38:41
bomb here in l out really amazing to
38:43
your bar vs. On the first.
38:45
Guy. I worked for on Wall Street.
38:48
My. Boss's boss was this super Italian
38:50
guy like this, the most Italian Italian
38:52
man you've ever seen and he told
38:54
me one day this like the has.
38:57
He. Always gotta buy them. The chicken parm
38:59
am like sir, I'm lactose intolerant. What are
39:01
you talking on? Laser know? I mean, I don't. Even
39:03
eat cheese. Ah. But
39:05
what he meant by that was. Every
39:09
so often out of this the random kind of of
39:11
his he would buy a bunch of chicken parm and
39:13
he would dish him out to the people on our
39:15
t and and then. You guys I t
39:17
the guys in the back office that I
39:19
hadn't office and you know him as listening
39:21
like. Mother. Thousand dollars on
39:23
chicken parm. And.
39:26
He meant Pilates. Treat people.
39:29
With. Kindness. Not because you
39:31
know. You. Have to. But
39:33
because you want to. And then.
39:36
When. He ever had an issue. Those
39:39
people came running to his desk know
39:41
if models people having issues. They only
39:44
ran to his desk because he had
39:46
genuinely treated them with kindness. Then.
39:48
It didn't serve him. When
39:50
he was just a random wednesday he will at
39:52
all higher has your kids like little league game
39:55
going and like it took a genuine interest and
39:57
people into your point of being interesting and asking
39:59
questions. That's been kind. I think
40:01
that's really important and co a cast first
40:03
one as a good one on. I
40:06
would say. If.
40:09
You are a woman. And.
40:13
Doesn't. Know. Yourself A know your worth. I
40:16
think. We compete a
40:19
lot. With other women.
40:22
Because. We had that guess the
40:24
ones and we think that another
40:26
person's. Successes.
40:29
Our down. And that. Is
40:32
your number one on the podcast? Heard That
40:34
means I'm not number one. Okay,
40:38
But. There's. Always.
40:40
Room. For. More people to succeed.
40:42
Like there's enough white space. For. All
40:45
of us to get there for all of us to have
40:47
what we want and get what we need. And.
40:49
I think it had me very long time to
40:51
are not. I would always get his back. Girl
40:53
has actually the i can't have it like I
40:55
need to do This is usually the so unhealthy.
40:58
So. I think it's more like knowing yourself knowing you're
41:00
worth. And. Not being. Unnecessarily
41:03
competitive. I think there's a little
41:06
healthy competition and everything. But.
41:09
Don't let it be to the detriment
41:11
of. You know, Your. Mental Health
41:13
or anything in your life. And
41:16
then. You know, just
41:18
I think a third one is. Don't.
41:21
Kill the Golden Goose. You
41:23
have that on your shoes. He. Oh my, I know still
41:25
to see who can see them. What knows? His eyes
41:27
as a daughter goes, yeah does. So.
41:30
Not sponsored by the Golden Goose you
41:32
brand, but I would like to be.
41:34
Ah, The. The.
41:37
All fable is that, and
41:39
I'm sure you've. Heard it right to
41:41
heads. Okay, I'm a farmer's wife were
41:43
discuss and every single day this goose blaze
41:45
a golden egg and they're like oh my
41:47
gosh like a little nugget of goals. They
41:49
are like the so weird all the other
41:51
nice are doing this for like live gold
41:53
is amazing like we now have this little
41:55
pellet of gold. I. Wish we had
41:57
more and so everyday to get a little egg of gold. Or
42:01
not, you know, Having fast enough,
42:03
we should. Kill. The.
42:06
This. And that way
42:08
the inside of the do this will be entirely gold, will be
42:10
able to get it all at once in will sell it. So.
42:13
They slaughter the schools. And.
42:15
Inside the this is a regular can
42:18
spy and there's not a single piece
42:20
of gold. And I
42:22
think. This.
42:24
Is a bigger metaphor of like. Life
42:27
of us always wanting the next
42:29
big thing. Wanting more, But.
42:32
Like. I
42:35
am a big big. Hooliganism. The prom
42:37
I have I'm. I.
42:39
Currently have the life that I. Prayed for cup
42:41
Moscow. And. Sometimes.
42:44
I don't get to enjoy it. sometimes I'm
42:47
not even enjoying it and that's sad. I
42:49
think we need to Not kill the Golden
42:51
Goose. Enjoy those little nuggets. a goal that
42:53
we get every single day and it's okay
42:55
to want to work for more and strive
42:57
for more. But don't.
42:59
Ruin a good saying just because
43:01
you're always trying. To.
43:04
Like hit the next milestone. You know?
43:06
com? But. You can,
43:08
you know? Completely.
43:10
Lose this entire journey if you don't take
43:13
a second, assault them roses and stop and
43:15
smell the roses here as beautiful. How
43:22
does someone creed their belief that they can
43:24
have control over their money or the A
43:26
starts of dealing with the their past? I
43:28
mean our friend Doctor John. Too long as
43:30
a book cologne your past, change your future
43:32
and. You. Have to own the same
43:34
and the guilt and the baggage and the
43:36
mistakes and the heard and the financial trauma.
43:38
And your parents divorced and it was money
43:40
stress and money fights and you took on
43:43
all his dad and so who are you'd
43:45
ever build wealth and become debt free? You
43:47
have to grapple with that and go like
43:49
that's not who I am. Those.
43:51
Are things that happened. And. Yes, they
43:53
may have happened to me but that's not going
43:55
to control my destiny inside that starts with that
43:57
relies on with this is my past Does. And.
44:00
That's. Not where I'm headed and so we always say,
44:02
the windshield was bigger than rearview mirror for a
44:04
reason. So if you can start looking ahead, go
44:06
on regardless. And in spite of all of that,
44:09
I. Am going to. Change. My family
44:11
tree. That's what we call it. Bill generational
44:13
wealth breaks the cycles in chains that
44:15
have come before me. Those. People
44:17
The ones that inspire me everyday when I call
44:19
the show. And they didn't come from money, the
44:21
income from trust funds. They. Came from
44:24
broken homes and little incomes and they
44:26
overcame. Those are the heroes. Yeah, Bring
44:28
a saw someone a bit earlier this
44:30
week. A woman, come on a
44:32
show say she got our three hundred thousand debt and
44:34
like eighteen months or something wrong on your show. Yeah
44:36
are and I could maybe three hundred. He was one
44:39
hundred seventy hundred seventy thousand. I think it was. A
44:41
she got a dad and eighteen months. And
44:44
the amount of. Peace.
44:46
That he had in her facial
44:48
expression and her body language around
44:50
being dead free from these I
44:52
guess bad debts. Really?
44:55
Lucky. Empowering or was she was
44:58
capable of doing Now with out
45:00
that dead wearing her down. And
45:03
I'm curious before we get to the
45:05
next, The Fifth habits. How.
45:08
Does someone develops? Add? That. Belief
45:11
their to bacon paid down their debts
45:13
if it seems so daunting and so
45:15
overwhelming. When
45:19
you get a new car or a new home,
45:21
your first reaction might be to say things like
45:23
oh yeah or I can't believe it or boo
45:25
yah hunt. What you really want to say is
45:27
the one thing that can get you the help
45:29
you need like a good neighbor State Farm is
45:31

45:33

45:35

45:37
a State Farm agent you know someone is there
45:40
to help you choose the cupboards you need to.
45:42
So many coverage options. It feels good knowing you
45:44
can find what's best for you. and when you
45:46
need ways to get help, State Farm gives you
45:48
options. They are. To in person or on the
45:50
phone with your local agents were on State
45:52
farm.com where their award winning app State Farm
45:54

45:56
you need help protecting the things that matter
45:58
most remember to say. Like a good neighbor, State
46:01
Farm is there. The

47:00
W I S. realizing.
47:02
They are not alone A thing is a
47:04
really important step. Too many people feel like,
47:06
well, my situation's different and I'm unique and
47:08
special and they don't get it. But.
47:10
Then I mean people every day I get in
47:13
a financial piece university class and has all these
47:15
other people who made money mistakes. I that. I'm.
47:18
Not alone. I'm not a I'm not the only
47:20
the it out there. I'm not the only average
47:22
towards out there. That to me is encouraging. Because.
47:24
It tells me that. This. Path is something
47:26
the other people have done before me. That.
47:29
Will come after me and that I can do
47:31
this to and so think it's important to other
47:33
people around you and that might mean that now
47:35
some toxic friends who are not trying to be
47:37
on their journeys. Her. Finding people who
47:39
aren't trying to live on less than they
47:41
make. that's an important piece. and the other
47:43
piece. Is feeling progress? And that's why
47:46
I think those baby steps are so important. When.
47:48
You start would just hate thousand bucks, can you guess
47:50
thousand bucks, most of us as a yeah, can sell
47:53
some stuff I get the second? I. Can you
47:55
know Naughty out this month? Now. It's
47:57
like, aren't let's attack that consumer debt debt
47:59
snowball. Small. The largest logitech. The small that
48:01
we just do that one thing at a
48:03
time when off saving were not investing. Were.
48:06
Can do one thing at a time and
48:08
that to me is what build that hope
48:10
and bills that progress and momentum and keeps
48:12
you motivator on the journey. Have to have
48:14
a little when early on or else you
48:16
give up their as good. And what about
48:19
the fifth habits? Who. The. Fifth
48:21
habit. Is. So boring
48:23
that and unsafe that he will upset
48:25
you. But. It is getting on the
48:27
budget. it's making a plan and when I found was
48:30
that. Budgets are not
48:32
for broke people. Budgets, Are not
48:34
for wealthy people. Budgets are for intentional
48:36
people. That. Was a game changer
48:38
for makes always thought like we have to be super nerd
48:40
and love excel we have to be like really broke because
48:43
you think budget you think this person's role for of on
48:45
stingy in cheap and they can spend a the you say
48:47
i'm on a budget that means i can go out with
48:49
your friends with the front right but to me. It's
48:52
just putting a plan on paper looking reality on
48:54
my income as five thousand. I
48:56
need to spend money. I make a plan for
48:58
every single dollars because otherwise what happens? Dollars.
49:01
Float away. You go it as well. Oh
49:03
my gosh, we spend six hundred bucks eating out this
49:05
month and or dashing a burrito. You.
49:07
Know all of that, Unintentional spending.
49:09
An impulse leads to you not
49:12
hitting financial goals. Year for thought:
49:14
it is conscious spending habits. Is.
49:16
Being aware of where you're spending your money. Com.
49:19
There was a quotes. In here
49:21
the me see this quarter of
49:23
worthless solace based on budgeting. Had
49:26
a whole chapter on but I'm not called budgeting
49:28
his freedom that our first one in the breaking
49:31
Free section herbal and the quote on that is
49:33
from John Maxwell. Said. A budget to sell
49:35
your money? Where to go instead of wondering where
49:37
it went and at the a lot of people
49:39
aren't conscious. About. Their spending
49:41
habits and they're not intentional about where
49:44
they want their money to go. They.
49:46
Buy things based on impulse, based
49:48
on pleasure and based on desire.
49:51
And. then they realize like oh i don't
49:53
have as much money as i thought I
49:55
had cause an unintentional matter how osman so
49:57
we be looking at all over our talents.
50:00
This be a daily. The things shouldn't be
50:02
monthly is it too? Is it? He always
50:04
had too much to look at it where
50:06
it's an obsession and you're over obsessing. Vs.
50:09
Like a natural flow what he is the as
50:11
a great question we tell people to make a
50:13
budget every months and so it actually creating the
50:16
budget on paper before the next month begins is
50:18
t so that will happen one time and if
50:20
you've got a spouse. You. Need to do
50:22
that together. It'll a quick budget meeting. This is not
50:24
a four hour you know. Lord of the Ring saga
50:26
Here this has gone. Say what's gone on this month.
50:29
Hey we get that birthday party. We gotta get that
50:31
gift for this thing. Memory of their vacation coming up.
50:33
With. Start saving and so that's all it is.
50:35
But as far as tracking your transactions, that's a
50:38
really important part of the budget people forget to
50:40
do. Looks. Great on paper and then we to
50:42
spend the rest of the month and hope. Fingers.
50:44
Crossed we have money in the county and of them
50:46
on the don't overdraft that most people. But.
50:48
Tracking your transactions as a key and you want
50:50
to do that? Are. Once every day
50:53
or other day. And again if you
50:55
do it once or every other day I clean
50:57
your room. You'll never have to clean your room
50:59
if you just and Heidi approach her and so
51:01
with every dollar are budgeting app. This. Is
51:03
as easy as dragging the transaction like
51:05
Amazon Amazon dragon up to shopping. Were.
51:07
Done. And so when you
51:09
do that, you can actually see do we have any
51:12
money left? For. X, Y Z
51:14
or a were over budget we are figure
51:16
something out we got a sacrifice. We gotta
51:18
cut this category here for most people do
51:20
is just overspend and four different categories and
51:22
ago. Where. Thousand bucks over and we put
51:24
her on the credit card. Will. Figure it
51:26
out next month. And. That's why it's important to
51:28
not only do a budget, but to use your own money.
51:31
And I only have a i would one day
51:33
of a guard and I use cash occasionally. That's
51:35
how my life is. Very simple on that way.
51:38
And. I have my business My Ramsey Business
51:40
Ever card as well. Would you say to
51:42
people is that say you know why Love
51:44
having a credit card because it allows me
51:46
to. Get. Points for flights
51:48
or you know, whatever my be
51:50
for other perks. And. Upon
51:52
tracking and just like it would a debit
51:55
card than a missing out on always on
51:57
parts in why I found the people who
51:59
actually could stand to benefit and actually you
52:01
have any meaning for awards. Make.
52:03
Enough money and spend enough that they don't need
52:05
the rewards. Those kind of hilarious at that point
52:07
to be like if you make a hundred fifty
52:10
thousand dollars. The. Thousand Dollars and Roars
52:12
is not changing your life whatsoever. And the
52:14
mental calories you're spending to play the game
52:16
and maximize is not worth your time. And
52:18
so I break down. There's and in chapter
52:20
three on credit cards I break down a
52:22
different character archetypes that I found was going
52:24
out and so there is the rewards redeemer
52:26
there in the world Traveller, the person like
52:28
I gotta have my airline miles or it's
52:30
and I break down. You. Spend fifty
52:32
thousand dollars in order in order to
52:34
get your two hundred fifty dollar flight.
52:37
But. You don't even know that is what are they give you. Points.
52:39
And miles. What? Does one hundred thousand
52:42
miles? We don't know anymore. The credit card companies
52:44
want to confuse us. And I
52:46
sound the cell from an ex Capital One employee.
52:49
Seat only verbatim that these credit card
52:51
companies run ten thousand and experiments a
52:53
year on consumers. And. A be
52:56
test them to go out. We switched from
52:58
cashback the points. It. Trigger something
53:00
different. Their brain is like Chuck E Cheese. Wow,
53:02
you're like hundred. One hundred thousand points is what
53:04
feels like a lot less. Sign up for the
53:07
knowledge to candy bars the exact For so most
53:09
people they're stepping over a dollar to hopefully pick
53:11
up a quarter and the average credit card interest
53:13
rate now twenty two percent a Pr. While. But.
53:16
We're doing all this in hopes of getting to present
53:18
Cashback you like. Is it worth spending
53:20
one hundred bucks to get two bucks? But.
53:22
They tell me as well I'm not spitting any differently than if it
53:24
was my own money. And like you want to bet, Here's.
53:26
A thousand dollars cash of your own
53:28
money. Go hand over a thousand dollars
53:30
and see the emotional pain it causes And
53:33
so adding friction back into our life
53:35
will actually help of spend less. And
53:37
that's what happens when use cash especially. But
53:39
even debit card your brain knows this
53:41
color. Red alert us how many are
53:43
right now and so in the book.
53:45
The thesis of that chapter is when it
53:47
hurts when it hurts less, it costs
53:49
more. We remove the friction. you're going
53:51
to spend more. And I quote Mit studies
53:54
using Fmr I technology in the brain
53:56
and they're seeing. When people swipe that Kartik
53:58
on the release of the brakes on. Planning
54:00
and hits the accelerate. Really? And.
54:02
So it's like both and. And
54:05
every study shows you spend more when he swiped that
54:07
card. And so I try to hit every single objects
54:09
in Iraq as we've heard so much and Ramsey's what
54:11
if I pad the the perfect spenders the first one
54:14
in there. I. Never paid, I'm an interest.
54:16
What's wrong with using my credit card? You know all
54:18
of those expect a lot every man polluted with a
54:20
Cf. but even then think about it, you could have
54:22
zero bucks in the bank the into their month. You're.
54:25
Not building wealth just because you have
54:27
a zero credit card balance. I
54:30
want people to build wealth sure not to play
54:32
the game perfectly of capital One right in. It
54:34
is common out of a debit card you'd be
54:36
much more conscious of like to. I really need
54:38
this thing or is this. Whatever
54:41
money by right now is it really get to
54:43
be a thing that I want right now I
54:45
made me happy or was the most non rotating
54:47
cast back. So you tell me I spend just
54:50
like I would not know you're going out to
54:52
eat because you get five percent this month on
54:54
restaurant sides like they know what they're doing it's
54:56
always on travel in restaurants has never had pay
54:58
your utility bills and give you five percent and
55:00
of pressure whatever the boring style to frivolous spending?
55:02
Sure. So there's so much in there that was
55:04
fascinating especially. The said reserve study
55:06
that shows that sixteen billion dollars moves
55:09
from the poor on educated to the
55:11
wealthy. You're educated through credit card awards
55:13
And so when people tell me well
55:15
George, I'm not. Like. Who's benefiting from
55:17
the cycle? I'm not hurting anyone by doing this. Like.
55:20
Technically. Another sonata. I'm not
55:22
on a moral high horse, but the
55:24
study shows that the poorest, most uneducated
55:27
people. Is who's paying for your flight?
55:29
Who's paying for your cash back. And to me,
55:31
that's not a system I want to be a
55:33
part of. If I can opt out of it
55:35
by your in my own money, Where do you
55:37
think is the number one thing about money? That.
55:40
Stresses them out the most. The
55:43
idea of money is it's the dead of
55:46
money as of having lots of money as
55:48
it's relationships and money as it's. People's.
55:50
Opinions about your Money: What is a number one thing
55:53
about money that stresses people out the most? When it
55:55
comes to stress, I think a lot of stress is
55:57
based on fear of the unknown. And.
56:00
You have headlines and economic uncertainty and
56:02
what's the president gonna do or not
56:04
gonna do? And they gonna forgive student
56:06
loans? And I have so much piece
56:08
when it comes to personal finances because.
56:10
I. Ignore all of the noise and I only
56:13
focus on what I can control. When.
56:15
You start pointing fingers at. While we can do
56:17
about inflation, the cost of eggs and in Congress
56:19
has gotta get their act together. An affair They
56:22
keep messing with these interest rates in the Guy
56:24
in the White House's The Blame and all of
56:26
that as we can always complain about that for
56:28
a moment. But. The end of the
56:30
day we got bills to pay we and also achieve.
56:33
And. So I I go through all those excuses and
56:35
chapter one did tell people I hate. We.
56:37
Can point fingers and enjoy it and it's cathartic.
56:39
But. It ended the day. What you can control
56:42
is the guy in the mirror and now he
56:44
spends his money. Now she saves her money and
56:46
to me that. That. At first
56:48
this kind of like okay, I can
56:50
control me. whoop whoop. But. It's
56:52
so empowering when you realize like of on
56:54
the problem on the solution is an amazing
56:56
and so I think that stress comes from.
56:59
The fear of the unknown and what could happen
57:01
and what if the stock market tanks? Born.
57:04
You have no debt. Know. Lenders to
57:06
pay you have a fully funded emergency fund.
57:08
And. You've got wealth being built for the
57:11
future and you're thinking long term. You're.
57:13
Not worried about what happened lives because you've
57:15
got your plan for your stick intuit exactly.
57:17
I'm so confident my plan. and it's not
57:19
because I'm somewhat multimillionaire, is it's because I'm
57:21
content with where am I right? I don't
57:23
need a next and then another million dollars
57:26
tomorrow. You don't need a new was, don't
57:28
need a new car on me to go,
57:30
and five hours for trips, but you see
57:32
other people doing exactly only to overspend. Because.
57:35
You have financial peace and the simpler you can
57:37
create our in the simpler life you can create
57:39
the better off you're gonna beat as more stuff
57:41
you own the more kind of owns you. More.
57:43
Complicated life gets and so you know,
57:46
just hang out The Minimalist and we
57:48
were talking about all the stuff because
57:50
we're seeing anxiety stems from the stuff
57:52
around us and less clutter in our
57:55
life. Emotionally, physically, financially the better offer
57:57
your and I've never seen someone death
57:59
for. It was like my life is
58:01
worse now that I have no debt now
58:03
once. They always are levitating. Because.
58:06
They just have a piece about them because they're not. Keep.
58:08
Their bodies are keeping the school anymore of the debt of
58:10
they l. V. The people have
58:13
more shame around being and get.
58:16
Or. More shame today. About
58:18
having an abundance of money. Oh.
58:23
Like. Is or it is or same and like Wanna wanna.
58:26
Because. Other people are hurting the I've got I
58:28
have. Well, I've I figured out how to
58:30
like, take responsibility for my life, and the
58:32
now pay other dads and and start building
58:34
wealth And I've actually done it now. I
58:36
spent ten, twenty thirty years of actually creating
58:38
something of value and I've been smart my
58:40
money now a habit. Which.
58:42
Used to be like celebrated by yeah you
58:45
know you'd like but now is valid I
58:47
just wells yes a deep voice People have
58:49
more same around being in debt in broke.
58:52
And. A victim that they don't have
58:54
control their life, financially or more. Same
58:56
about be rich and well. In a
58:58
culture where debt has become celebrated, I
59:00
think we've lost a level of same
59:03
that we ought to have like back
59:05
our grandparents days. It. Was not
59:07
okay to oh People Money It was a
59:09
goals and auto people money. Now there's Tic
59:11
Talks about people gone on Fifty million dollars
59:13
in debt, non proud of it. You should
59:16
be Fifteen million dollars in debt to. And.
59:18
The people who have wealth and have earned it
59:21
with integrity or gonna gonna want to. On.
59:23
Want to hurt anyone's feelings because everyone's upset
59:25
and at the heart of it is. I.
59:27
Don't think it's fair that Louis has more than me.
59:30
And. This is comparison, culture and mentality of
59:32
if he has something I don't that's
59:34
not fair and you know he goes
59:36
into basically social and the socialists anarchy
59:39
at that point and so the best
59:41
thing we can do. Whether
59:43
you know we have to with all the
59:45
baby sets and they're whispering to us were
59:47
married, they're not gonna like Weldon. Yeah, they're
59:50
not like shouting from the rooftops. But.
59:52
We live in such a weird world of Ramsey
59:54
we're we're celebrating. people paying off debt were asked
59:56
my income all day long and so it's there's
59:58
there's less shame and Iran. The Bible. But
1:00:00
it's weird that we whisper that what is
1:00:02
he the summer saying For people that have
1:00:05
you know, a hundred grand, a million dollars
1:00:07
on that worth. Where. They can't
1:00:09
speak about it to their friends
1:00:11
and family openly without feeling judged
1:00:14
attacked. Having handouts everywhere. Where
1:00:16
people Now now. you gotta pay off My
1:00:18
dad's. Is that what it
1:00:20
is? A people just shaming? I think will
1:00:22
that I've taken responsibility for their money. The
1:00:24
heart behind it is there is. There's wisdom
1:00:26
to it. You. Know you me telling the
1:00:28
a random person nor my friend like hey bro.
1:00:31
I don't million bucks like. Is.
1:00:33
It's out of context and it's gonna make them
1:00:35
feel small unless them and so I think the
1:00:37
heart of it is is good as good intentions.
1:00:39
Yeah and there's a time in a place to
1:00:42
talk about it. the reins he shows one of
1:00:44
of we love celebrating people are going down the
1:00:46
street. be a like i'm a millionaire what do
1:00:48
you guys do and it's hard and so even
1:00:50
with this book like I don't brag that I'm
1:00:52
a millionaire. I. Tell people like on
1:00:54
the average George if I know from broke
1:00:56
the millionaire you can to. So. It's
1:00:58
never a flex on my part. all it
1:01:00
is as I want to empower other people that
1:01:03
I'd income from money. I am a double
1:01:05
you to employee. I did start my own
1:01:07
business. I'm not. it's self made entrepreneur. I'm a
1:01:09
guy who just followed a simple plan. And.
1:01:11
Believes that anyone can become a millionaire in America today.
1:01:13
And so I talk about money's that we don't have
1:01:16
to talk about. Money is like let's let's take the
1:01:18
same out of it. And let's just
1:01:20
make it fun and conversational, and it's nest
1:01:22
not not about a flex is about encouraging
1:01:24
and empowering each other. So.
1:01:26
You're tell me you can work somewhere for
1:01:28
a decade. Not. Start your
1:01:31
own business. Not be hustling on
1:01:33
the side console way. and him, You.
1:01:35
Know spending all your time trying to earn more.
1:01:37
Causal. Me: And. You to get to
1:01:39
a millionaire status as are you Tommy As
1:01:42
possible it's possible. I think it looks different
1:01:44
for a lot of people in of a
1:01:46
part of my wealth building was my spouse
1:01:48
Whitney. I met her Ramsey. And a
1:01:50
You know where we are Network millionaires together as
1:01:52
a household and people are always. I will that
1:01:54
doesn't count. Could. Really have to take
1:01:56
half of that because what if you divorce and
1:01:58
like that? Such a weird as. They michael was
1:02:00
the stock market goes to zero. You're not a
1:02:02
millionaire anymore. Like you're right. I wouldn't be. But.
1:02:05
I think as spouses one the most powerful
1:02:07
wealth building tools that really is underrated. Tell
1:02:09
me why. Because. When my
1:02:11
wife and I met we were so aligned. Obviously
1:02:13
we both worked Ramsey. We drank the Kool Aid
1:02:15
and it was good. And we're like we started
1:02:17
off our marriage that free. I paid off my
1:02:19
consumer debt at that point. She was much smarter
1:02:21
than a much better looking, much better at money
1:02:24
management. And. So like. It's.
1:02:26
A life hack to start your marriage
1:02:28
off debt free. Wow! Already investing for
1:02:30
the future, having emergency fund getting into
1:02:32
a home. To We ended
1:02:34
up paying off at home and twenty six months
1:02:37
because around the same page got a modest home.
1:02:39
That. Was within our means and we both have the
1:02:41
goblets. What would it be like to not have a
1:02:43
mortgage payment on early thirties. Will. Can we
1:02:45
do? How can we give. What?
1:02:47
Options would be have. And. That led
1:02:50
us down the path of paying off the
1:02:52
house. That. House appreciate in value
1:02:54
over over time. We've. Been
1:02:56
investing fifteen percent that whole time into our
1:02:58
Ah Four one K that Ramsey boring investing
1:03:00
stuff. And. All the sudden you look up by
1:03:02
your net worth. Calculation. And I
1:03:04
the equity in our home and and retirement accounts.
1:03:07
Or. Millionaires and so is is. I don't
1:03:09
say that to minimize how is the sacrifice
1:03:11
that we made in the side hustle that
1:03:13
I did and us getting promoted over the
1:03:15
years. Over a decade. It
1:03:18
may take people fifteen years or twenty years. It
1:03:21
may take dual income in a weird dual income
1:03:23
no kids at the time We got to French
1:03:25
Bulldogs which was a real networks are that's nothing
1:03:27
thou got one hundred and lot of baggage area.
1:03:29
We just have a little girl four months ago
1:03:32
and I promise you the dogs are still more
1:03:34
expensive than have fantastic rugrats read and Q. So
1:03:36
all of that together to as I say that
1:03:38
to go it may not look the same for
1:03:40
everyone. so this is not a hey if I
1:03:42
can do in ten years I'm a failure. But.
1:03:45
I think people. Imagine world's gonna
1:03:47
take me thirty five years to build wealth.
1:03:50
It. Really doesn't take that long when you get
1:03:52
intentional and focus and follow the Ramsey Baby
1:03:54
steps. Average person. falling the baby steps pays
1:03:56
off their home and seven years. Smile! Now
1:03:58
what's your thoughts on? By.
1:04:01
Your home. Being. A great
1:04:03
decision Or a horrible decision Who? Because
1:04:05
you're lot of people saying like never
1:04:08
buy a home that you live in
1:04:10
like just rent. And I
1:04:12
know, what are you talking about? Yeah,
1:04:14
and. And also a
1:04:16
psych Homes are getting more more. Spencer I'm
1:04:18
in A Home in Los Angeles is pretty
1:04:21
on affordable for a lot of people compared
1:04:23
to maybe Idaho or something or how my
1:04:25
be a different price. But.
1:04:28
Should we be buying your own home
1:04:30
and taking on this massive Morgan's massive
1:04:32
debt in these payments every months? And.
1:04:35
Then having to fix things up in a new know
1:04:37
break on you know, fix the roof and the. The.
1:04:40
Water, the systems, whatever it is. yeah, the state
1:04:42
taxes and always other fees or come with
1:04:44
owning a house. Snowed. York or just
1:04:46
rent a house. Let someone tells take
1:04:48
care of all that stress. And
1:04:51
you stay in a space that is more flexible
1:04:53
for you. Yeah. Why I think renting
1:04:55
is got real bad rap in today's world.
1:04:57
I hate their because I think one thing
1:04:59
is very wise fine patients. And. For
1:05:01
lot of people, it does make sense. And if
1:05:03
you're living in a high cost of living see,
1:05:05
you're not entitled to be a homeowner to in
1:05:07
new of New York City or L A like
1:05:09
it's gonna be harder if you want to buy
1:05:11
home and San Francisco and that's what you choose
1:05:14
to live. Now you better have the income to
1:05:16
support living in San Francisco. And so I think
1:05:18
homeownership as a great goal that everyone should have.
1:05:20
A. To at some point be a homeowner and have a
1:05:23
house paid off and we see now that's part of
1:05:25
a millionaire study. A paid off home was
1:05:27
a huge part of their network. Real is about a
1:05:29
third of the other net worth of millionaires was in
1:05:31
a paid for home from and the average millionaire paid
1:05:33
off their own and ten point two years. And
1:05:36
so I think it's a huge part. I think
1:05:38
of renting forever is also bad plan. Have
1:05:40
just gone because rents gonna go up over
1:05:42
time. This those homeowners property taxes go up
1:05:45
over time and someone owns that house. And.
1:05:47
So that's also bad plan. I want you to have
1:05:49
a six expense of a home and then soon pay
1:05:51
that off and so we have. Here's the way to
1:05:53
do it to where you know you're not making a
1:05:56
poor decision. Only were only buy a
1:05:58

1:07:49
Recruiter The smartest way to
1:07:51
hire. Once. You're completely
1:07:53
debt free of consumer debt. You've done the
1:07:55
dead snowball. You have a fully funded emergency
1:07:57
fund, three to six months of expenses, Then
1:08:00
you save up the down payment. And.
1:08:02
Here's the other kicker: No idea of the down
1:08:04
payments. Will you get a fifteen year fixed rate?
1:08:06
Mortgage. Where the payment is no more
1:08:08
than a quarter of your after tax income. so
1:08:10
that looks a lot like a No Fear
1:08:12
you make Five grand a month? Twelve fifty
1:08:14
should be were that Morgan said on a
1:08:16
fifteen year. Now. That's hard to do, I'll admit,
1:08:19
In. Today's world with home prices and interest rates. that's
1:08:21
gonna be hard. So what do you have to do?
1:08:24
Make. Different decisions because a massive change
1:08:26
lives. So it has to changes your
1:08:28
expectations of your first home. That.
1:08:30
Might mean we get the condo instead of the
1:08:32
single family. It might mean we're forty five minutes
1:08:34
outside of the city. Because. That's
1:08:36
the one we can afford. It might mean we
1:08:39
gotta save up a bigger down payments of the next
1:08:41
two years in order to do this. Why is that
1:08:43
right? But the other option is and the we get
1:08:45
the summer and seashell people call us and say hey,
1:08:47
my parents pressured us to buy a house and now
1:08:49
sixty five percent of our take home pay and were
1:08:51
broken we can't afford was mad and. We. Can
1:08:53
put food on the table and cover a bills and
1:08:55
we are sell the house now. Will
1:08:58
that turns homeownership from a blessing to a burden.
1:09:01
And so there's a right way to do it. right.
1:09:03
Time to do it. But unfortunately, people in their twenties
1:09:05
or dislike was time for me to buy home. Samir.
1:09:08
Country, where is my home? I got the degree. I'm
1:09:10
still panel my still loner man gosh, I need to get
1:09:12
didn't a home and so there is a time in a
1:09:15
place where the said you buy a home if you have
1:09:17
student debt. Goof. Well
1:09:19
my hunt take his know my heart acres pay
1:09:21
off all consumer debt. Before. You
1:09:23
get home and are still owns everything.
1:09:25
Student loans, credit cards, car loans. it
1:09:28
all needs to go before you become
1:09:30
a homeowner. Homeowner got this as is
1:09:32
compounds the stress. Did you know homeownership
1:09:35
as it's real expensive. Like. You
1:09:37
think it's Apples apples. Two thousand dollars in rent
1:09:39
is not two thousand dollars mortgage. Because.
1:09:41
The rent is Elise. You'll pay the mortgage.
1:09:43
that's just the starting point year before you
1:09:46
start dealing with maintenance and repairs and the
1:09:48
h back one out and the roof needs
1:09:50
to be replaced four years from now. I
1:09:53
mean those are some big ticket items and
1:09:55
your time to facing staff or whatever marriage
1:09:57
and things differently and so sometimes I miss
1:09:59
the days renting when I could have called
1:10:01
the apartment complex and like you got a
1:10:03
problem the earlier. And. So it really
1:10:05
is a blessing why you're renting. I know it stinks
1:10:08
because you're not building equity. But. I've
1:10:10
been building that patients muscle is so important
1:10:12
and ignoring. Everyone else has noise of like
1:10:14
you gotta get a house man if you
1:10:16
don't get it now you'll never get in.
1:10:18
There are other than a two bedroom apartment.
1:10:21
Four hundred and fifteen years here though
1:10:23
until as forty wow other to bet
1:10:25
on par rec and I felt completely
1:10:27
fine with that yell it was. There
1:10:29
was a nice apartment I have like
1:10:31
what I needed in. I upgraded in
1:10:33
overtime and to a nicer apartments but.
1:10:36
I. Did not feel like I'm missing out by not
1:10:38
having a home. And I don't have
1:10:40
that. Also I like the flexibility of renting and
1:10:42
having a convenience to gotta travel makes for some
1:10:45
was taken care of my stuff yeah and I
1:10:47
know what city are going to do more flexible
1:10:49
Yes if you're renting like if you want to
1:10:51
move cities in a different guy ugly versus how
1:10:53
do we do now the houses and selling and
1:10:55
I gotta get to this job. Like.
1:10:57
You're you're more planted when you become a
1:11:00
homeowner. it's not easy to get out. There
1:11:02
could be tax implications of u cel too
1:11:04
soon, so he deftly complicates things. but it's
1:11:06
overall. it's a great part of your wealth
1:11:08
building journey and I encourage everyone do it.
1:11:10
But. Don't feel pressured and don't do before
1:11:12
you're ready. Is there such a thing as
1:11:14
good debt versus bad debt? Well
1:11:17
I wrote a chaplain book on that is a thief.
1:11:19
And it's not. Bad. That is a
1:11:21
thief is just debt is a thief file and
1:11:23
so the hot take here that your greatest while
1:11:26
filling tools your income. And. When
1:11:28
you're giving any part of that to a
1:11:30
lender, You. Don't have your greatest
1:11:32
well building tool your disposal completely. And
1:11:35
so I've never seen in a you what
1:11:37
was your stories about people leveraging dad And
1:11:39
you know mortgages in a in a sense
1:11:41
with your home appreciating be like well that's
1:11:43
good debt. But. It does me want to hang
1:11:46
onto the debt. The Home is the part that's amazing. It's
1:11:48
not. hang onto the demise. And
1:11:50
even with these low interest rates, People.
1:11:53
Feel stuck because they have a to three percent interest
1:11:55
rate on their home and like I can ever get
1:11:57
rid of this house I can never sell. Cars.
1:11:59
I'll lose. This precious that I think this
1:12:01
idea that we're so obsessed of attached
1:12:03
to our debts shows how how far
1:12:05
off the beaten path we are. The
1:12:07
culture so. I. Truly don't believe there's
1:12:09
good than bad that because I've only seen get.
1:12:12
Hurt. People are in the people as say they're
1:12:14
winning like it's easy going to talk and be
1:12:16
I bought a work for mean you should do
1:12:18
it. That's. Terrible advice because you don't
1:12:20
know this other person situation and what life's
1:12:23
gonna throw at them. And.
1:12:25
So is it. Always at risk months and
1:12:27
you see lot of people expressing kind of
1:12:29
the real stay space? Or you know it's.
1:12:32
Going. Good day you can have is when you're borrowing
1:12:34
money to like. Get. Real Estate of
1:12:36
New by more to have more real statements compounding interest
1:12:38
over time where you're building equity and that or whatever.
1:12:40
My being you have ten homes now, but they're all
1:12:42
your own get with all these homes. Your.
1:12:44
Bar you from the previous home and
1:12:46
unfortunately there's a guy met. An
1:12:49
hour early this year. I. Met him
1:12:52
once. Ah, But we had a
1:12:54
nice color to our dinner conversation. And.
1:12:56
Unfortunately, it was public about Mother
1:12:58
To Ago that he committed suicide
1:13:00
because he was a real stayed
1:13:02
guy. He had invested in way
1:13:04
too much overleveraged, overleveraged. he had
1:13:06
a just had his first child.
1:13:08
And. He would. The pressure was too
1:13:11
much for him to take on. How
1:13:13
many other paid us off now. He. Was
1:13:15
like some some building that he invested
1:13:17
in or something use developing use investing.
1:13:20
And. Die he had a lot of i guess
1:13:22
net worth on paper but then. He. Was
1:13:24
over levers and the pressure was too much and
1:13:26
he took his own life. about a month or
1:13:28
month to go to Ago. And it's
1:13:30
a site again. You. Hear some
1:13:32
people saying like yes cool to have dead
1:13:34
but. Until you feel I
1:13:37
did. everyone's cohen humans and collecting. And
1:13:40
you don't know what to do And you can get
1:13:42
access to money. Paid us off. Or
1:13:44
you emotionally stable enough to manage that chaos
1:13:47
and stress in your life. Yeah, you want
1:13:49
that in your life. And I don't know
1:13:51
all the details of what actually happened, but.
1:13:54
I. Do know that more money
1:13:56
doesn't always mean more peace. Yeah.
1:13:59
Sometimes. More money means more pain
1:14:01
if you're not. Educated
1:14:03
or emotionally. Ready for
1:14:05
that amount of money? And.
1:14:08
Do you think that is? T.
1:14:10
Think if people got written a million
1:14:12
dollar cheque today. And. They were
1:14:14
in debt p think their lives would be
1:14:16
better. Or. More stressful. Why?
1:14:21
I think money magnifies who you are, and
1:14:23
if you've never managed a lot of money,
1:14:25
It's scary because we haven't managed the little money
1:14:28
you've had well. What? Makes you think you're going
1:14:30
to manage a million dollars? Well, Just. Because you
1:14:32
have more of it, doesn't mean you're gonna make wise
1:14:34
decisions. And we see this with the date on. Lottery
1:14:36
Winners: It's. Gone like how did you
1:14:38
blow We got a call you a day in the skies
1:14:40
like I want him. I want a million bucks And it
1:14:42
was gone within a few years. Really? And
1:14:44
is blue. It. Doesn't. Take much. You.
1:14:47
Know. And so it was really sad because
1:14:49
a million bucks and lotteries? Really? Six Hundred
1:14:51
thousand? And you spent hundred thousand
1:14:53
a year for six years gone, the money's
1:14:55
gone. Not that crazy to do. And so
1:14:57
I mean you. Had our friend Dave Ramsey
1:14:59
on the show multiple times and he shared
1:15:02
his story bankruptcy. And he was overleveraged
1:15:04
in real estate, the bank, all the nodes and
1:15:06
he couldn't sell off the properties fast enough. And
1:15:08
it is the Soyuz like Mile and was destroyed
1:15:11
his marriage and so are you know there's a
1:15:13
reason Dennis at Davis so risk averse when it
1:15:15
comes to death. And now
1:15:17
he's has a six hundred million dollar
1:15:19
real estate portfolio. With. The Ramsey headquarters
1:15:21
and all kind the properties and he paid cash
1:15:24
for every day One has credible he doesn't have
1:15:26
a cent of debt and so to me it's
1:15:28
inspiring to go like you don't have to. There's
1:15:30
not this one game you have to play the
1:15:32
be a real estate investor. You. Can
1:15:35
do differently. You can go slow and even go
1:15:37
fast. That's what David It. Because. When
1:15:39
you have all paid for properties that
1:15:41
thing cashflows like a mother as all
1:15:43
the sudden. pretty quickly you have enough
1:15:45
cash to deploying, get more property rights
1:15:47
and so it's a different game. It's
1:15:49
the tortoise, versa, the hair but Daves
1:15:51
Real peaceful. This proper prefer not to
1:15:53
me like no one's ever come after
1:15:55
him to collect these adequate and so
1:15:57
egg that puts you in control. You.
1:16:01
Started in debt.
1:16:03
And. Then. You. Have in
1:16:05
our network and or million dollars now.
1:16:08
What? Is your biggest fear around money? With
1:16:10
everything you know. With. Your
1:16:12
own personal life moving forward and.
1:16:16
That's. A great question. Ah
1:16:18
mean, I'm I'm unbelievably blessed and highly
1:16:20
favored just to be where I'm at
1:16:22
today and in getting the platform of
1:16:24
Dave Ramsey and going to work with
1:16:26
the amazing team I get to work
1:16:28
with in financially speaking. While we don't
1:16:30
have any payments, there's always this. Nagging
1:16:33
fear about what could happen in what
1:16:35
is enough. And that's what I've been
1:16:38
grappling with of. You. Know it
1:16:40
was. The goal posts is always moving. Like
1:16:42
is it the you could say I once we
1:16:44
have two million in retirement, I'll feel safe. As
1:16:47
if I can withdraw this much and then we can
1:16:49
live off. This will be okay. But.
1:16:51
Then what did you get to retirement And the stock
1:16:53
market? Thanks! As soon as you into retirement as a
1:16:55
five year you know, bear Market. whatever it is, There's.
1:16:58
Always a sphere of the unknown. And
1:17:01
so the only thing I can do is
1:17:03
try to prepare without becoming. Paranoid.
1:17:06
I don't want to have to build a bunker
1:17:08
and five hundred thousand dollars sitting in cash
1:17:10
in order to sleep at night while. And so
1:17:12
I'm sort of. I'm That's something I'm grappling with
1:17:15
of what is enough. What does that even
1:17:17
mean? What is enough for you. I
1:17:19
don't know. I mean, there's there's you know? Paid.
1:17:21
Twenty years from now, this compound interest works in
1:17:23
my four one K M's We upgrade this house
1:17:26
on such a planner and such a nerd that
1:17:28
it's fun to do those calculations. And.
1:17:30
So to me it's like will upgrade to this
1:17:32
type of house five years from now. we'll have
1:17:34
a second kid. Be. A million to
1:17:36
house we could pay for cast our be a cool
1:17:38
goal. You. Know maybe in twenty five
1:17:41
years my retirement account we should have both.
1:17:43
Four million dollars I should be enough to
1:17:45
retire on. You have all of those things
1:17:47
on paper. But. I don't know what life's
1:17:49
gonna hold. In the meantime, I have a lot more than that.
1:17:51
It might be less. And so that what?
1:17:54
I'm grappling with his. Are you
1:17:56
located to adapt? And. You
1:17:58
know, I've been a guy who wants to plan everything I want
1:18:00
to be. Prepare for everything in life. And it's
1:18:02
hard to let go of that. And
1:18:04
just be present in a moment and not have to
1:18:06
think about what's the next year. Look like what are
1:18:09
our goals like? As someone whose goal driven it's so
1:18:11
hard to let go and just. Stare. My
1:18:13
baby in the eyes and go like this is all
1:18:15
that matters, right? and wow, You know that's it at.
1:18:17
Some. I am truly struggling with just a
1:18:20
be present. My wife of
1:18:22
the can you stop look at your felt
1:18:24
like your little girl is trying to get your
1:18:26
attention while you're on a man and sold as
1:18:28
someone who's addicted to screens like many of
1:18:30
us millennials are. I'm. Trying to
1:18:32
now. On learn and
1:18:34
deprogram Some of this. Kind
1:18:37
of high anxiety feelings I have and getting
1:18:39
rid of that was a huge part of
1:18:41
and getting to get financial spot on a
1:18:43
financial stress anymore but they're still than normal
1:18:45
anxiety of of wife and inputs and trying
1:18:47
to get more centered and do the quiet
1:18:49
time and work out and eat better and
1:18:51
all of his. It's a lot. And
1:18:53
so that's something truly that a thing of the
1:18:55
next year. As a new dad I'm trying to
1:18:58
grapple with his i got new goals. Now it's
1:19:00
not about me or my even my wife anymore.
1:19:02
it's we had a little girls raisins, chaotic world
1:19:04
our and I want to do her right. You
1:19:07
know, my gravestone. It's not gonna have my net worth on
1:19:09
it of like. Look. At what this
1:19:12
guide Seabrook Am and a youtube
1:19:14
subscribers he had It's gonna. it's
1:19:16
gonna be like beloved father, you
1:19:18
know, doting husband. It's gonna say
1:19:20
that. And so to me, it
1:19:22
changes the way I look at money. In
1:19:24
changes the generational impact I want to have
1:19:27
been. So the goalpost I'm trying to just
1:19:29
stop looking at it. And
1:19:31
not look at the four O One K balance
1:19:33
and and said look at my little girl the
1:19:36
eyes and goes this is on a matters are
1:19:38
now Mile that's it Was her daughter's name Mia
1:19:40
Mia. When. She was born. Was.
1:19:42
Or something that shifted in you. Around
1:19:45
money and your mission. Or.
1:19:49
Was. At all. Kind of just like. Everything was
1:19:51
the same to somebody sorry you are roger
1:19:53
abuse around money when she was born. I.
1:19:56
Think so at. One of the first thoughts was.
1:20:00
I can't believe she gets to grow up
1:20:02
in a home where money, stress of money
1:20:04
fights will never be. A. Problem
1:20:06
Mom. Like. She's gonna grow. Been
1:20:08
a that doesn't have a mortgage attached to it
1:20:10
like that is mind boggling. Privilege.
1:20:12
That. I get to give to this girl. There's.
1:20:15
The fear of you know, entitlement because
1:20:18
when you're doing well like. Every
1:20:20
parent wants their kids to do better than they did. But.
1:20:22
Then the struggle is one on my kids. You know, think
1:20:25
we have money, See how I'd hide that? You try to
1:20:27
hide the wealth and we're not doing that well, honey, your
1:20:29
enemy Like there's there's that fear, but I think it's a
1:20:31
while more about. How. You raise them.
1:20:33
The character, the integrity, versus. Money
1:20:35
because I've seen Dave Ramsey raise his kids
1:20:37
and. His. Kids are incredible. Zero
1:20:39
entitlement. They are the most humble kids
1:20:42
in the world. and I you know
1:20:44
their inheriting the Ramsey empire and you
1:20:46
wouldn't even know it because they're just
1:20:48
so kind, so hard working, and I'm
1:20:50
an ounce of entitlement And so that's
1:20:52
what I hope to do for my
1:20:54
kid. And when it comes to money,
1:20:57
She's. Gonna go to college? They're free. And.
1:20:59
That might mean doesn't mean that we're going to
1:21:01
have unlimited monopoly dollars to hand to work. But.
1:21:03
I want to do my part and saving to
1:21:06
help her avoid the change that I sell when
1:21:08
I graduated college, the cynicism that I had in
1:21:10
So it's a beautiful fresh start when it comes
1:21:12
to money to go like I get to. Raise
1:21:15
this innocent, pure human. To.
1:21:18
Be a generous person now in with
1:21:20
their money. But. With their time,
1:21:22
their resources, I get to raise them in
1:21:24
such a way that they spend wisely. That.
1:21:27
They learn delay gratification, They learn how to
1:21:29
save for things they want over and to
1:21:31
me that is a. It's a
1:21:33
huge burden, but it's also a beautiful responsibility
1:21:35
while so I'm excited to lean into that.
1:21:38
You know, she barely can. Can. Look
1:21:40
at me in the eyes. but I'm really
1:21:42
looking forward to those days as we learn
1:21:44
those lessons and she gets her first little
1:21:46
Ramsey's piggy bank and starts to understand. Money.
1:21:49
Comes from work The three things you can do
1:21:51
with it you can give save. And. Spend
1:21:53
and so you know why I'm not going to
1:21:55
have are doing a budget a three years old,
1:21:57
but I think it's It's a really cool opportunity
1:21:59
for. Any parent to raise or kitten
1:22:01
such a way that they go. I.
1:22:04
Got to be a part of. Grazing.
1:22:06
A good human and we need more of those
1:22:08
in today's world. So if you're on the fence,
1:22:10
still good person and on the fence about having
1:22:12
kids, please have the kids because it was stupid
1:22:14
People out there haven't kids and we have to
1:22:17
