On this special episode of the Shepherdcast, we remember the events that culminated in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  As this is a continuation of Maundy Thursday and the Three Days, no sermon was given during this service.  Instead, the story of the crucifixion is told by Rev. Scott J. Anderson from readings of all four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  Today’s episode came from our Tenebrae-format worship service on Good Friday, April 2, 2021.

The readings in this episode are as follows…

The First Light
The Darkness of Conspiracy
John 11: 43-53

The Second Light
The Darkness of the Time of Trial
Mark 14: 32-42

The Third Light
The Darkness of Betrayal and Desertion
John 18: 1-12

The Fourth Light
The Darkness of Denial
Matthew 26: 69-75

The Fifth Light
The Darkness of Cruelty
Mark 15: 8-20

The Sixth Light
The Darkness of Crucifixion
Luke 23: 26-43

The Christ Candle
The Darkness over the Whole Land
Matthew 27: 45-54

The Burial of Jesus
John 19: 31-42
