In a somewhat genuine attempt to empower women, the founder of WAHAM (Women Are Having A Moment) Justine and her followers end up making the average woman feel like she needs to be “fixed.” The conference featured bad testimonies about not having a career and being happy about doing nothing, as well as selling overpriced cosmetic enhancement products for a more affluent, higher wage-earning crowd. Annie didn’t think Chub-Rub, cellulite makeup for legs and hundred dollar sex toys were a way for women to take their power back. It was obvious that the WAHAM Conference was simply a way to monetize on women’s insecurities and the “idea” of being empowered. Annie was disappointed with her experience as she was hoping to have a great article for The Thorn about Women in Business.
