In this episode, the Snarky Boob Queens discuss the PUMP Act. The PUMP Act, or the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers Act, is a federal law in the United States that was enacted in 2018. The law requires employers to provide reasonable break time and a private, non-bathroom space for nursing mothers to express breast milk at work. The PUMP Act amends the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which sets minimum wage and overtime pay standards for employees in the US, to include these protections for nursing mothers. The law applies to all employers covered by the FLSA and applies to nursing mothers for up to one year after the birth of a child.
