Mike and Steve talk about last year's disappointing playoff loss, the distractions from the offseason, and reasons to be optimistic about this season. The guys talk about Drew Brees, the secondary, Marcus Davenport, and Sean Payton. Mike also explains why he thinks the unique challenges created by COVID could benefit the Saints.
Also, Jeff Benedict (01:03:42)joins us to talk about his new book called, The Dynasty. Jeff has written an incredible book about the New England Patriots incredible run the last nineteen seasons. Jeff talks about how the Kraft family positioned themselves to purchase the Patriots and explains how Michael Jackson played a role in it. Jeff talks about Howard Stern having dinner with Jonathan Kraft and Bill Belichick ending up on his radio show. Jeff also answers the most important question: are the Patriots cheaters? Sort of.
Steve starts the show with a monologue about his indifference towards sports so far in 2020. The book club looks ahead to the first book of the fall and adds three more. OLT ends the program with Steve making his NFL predictions.
