The Two Towers’ landscape passages… a lot of the book is from Sam’s POV, and he’s the gardener, and Ithilien is packed with flower names in a way that not even the Shire is when he’s not the viewpoint character. So there’s so much lore that he clearly is collecting as he goes. Which I think is so beautiful.
