TSTB interviews the legendary Jack Rabid -- music writer and critic extraordinaire. Hailed as the “godfather of punk rock journalism,” Rabid is the founder, editor, and publisher of New York music magazine The Big Takeover, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020. His writing has appeared in Interview, the Village Voice, Creem, Spin, Paper, Trouser Press Record Guide, and Musichound, and he hosts "The Big Takeover Show" on realpunkradio.com every Monday at noon. Over the years, Rabid has interviewed and profiled artists from Radiohead to the Kinks to the Clash and championed hundreds of up-and-coming artists. He is also a drummer who has played with the bands Leaving Trains, Even Worse, Last Burning Embers, and Springhouse. Rabid lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Mary, and their children Jim and Caroline. #punk #punkrock #punkrockstories #stories #storyteller #storytelling #alternativerock #rockjournalists #bands #bandstories #sexpistols #theclash #radiohead #thesmiths #thekinks #thepretenders #musicstories #musicjournalists
