Speaker 1: (00.26)
Thank you for tuning in to the taste life podcast. I'm your host, Jake Ryan here to explore and discuss how you can live a life so good that you can actually taste it. This is episode one and in this episode we're going to take a deeper dive into the meaning behind taste life. We're going to share the vision and the mission of tastes life as well as give you an idea of what to expect from upcoming episodes. So what exactly is tastes life? What does taste life mean? Well, it can mean a lot of different things for a lot of different people, but the core principle of taste life is the idea that life is so good that you should be able to taste it the same way that your mouth waters over some food that you crave or the way that you have the sensation of a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.

Speaker 1: (01:18)
Those same experiences that we give to things inside of life can apply to life as a whole. We believe that you should be able to wake up in the morning so excited to get your day started, so excited to live life another day that your mouth is literally watering. Now, how do you do that? Well, that's what we're going to get into in this podcast. We're going to examine why most people don't taste life. We're going to examine what things in life dull our taste buds and how getting too salty or bitter or sour about something that's happened in life can change your entire perception of reality and how you can recalibrate those taste buds and actually enjoy the delicious flavors that life has to offer to truly taste life. Every aspect of your life will need to be tended to. This includes but is not limited to your physical health and fitness, your mental health and fitness, your financial health and fitness, your emotional intelligence, your social skills as well as your spirituality.

Speaker 1: (02:36)
To be clear, I'm not here to push an agenda or a belief system on anyone. I'm simply sharing experience that's helped me and allowing my guests to share experience that's helped them in taking little nuggets from each person's perspective and using those as the building blocks to building a life so good that you can actually taste it. So a little bit more about life. If you've ever heard of the concept or you've heard somebody use the phrase that you know, they were bitter salty, you know, man, she's so bitter about that. Or you know, man, don't, don't get too salty, right? Or even hear people say, well, he's, he's sweet, you know, or he's, he's, he's too sweet. Um, you know, it, it's one of those things that you're probably a lot more familiar with than you even realized. And the whole idea is that we have experiences in life or we have, we come up across situations in life where life brings us undesirable situations.

Speaker 1: (03:40)
And if we're not equipped in the moment to handle those situations properly, then we may react to those rather than respond. And as we become more evolved and as we become more conscious, we are able to respond. We are, we become more responsible, right? We have the ability to respond, but sometimes, whether it was in our past or whether it's where we're at right now, maybe we're not at that level of responsibility. And so we react to these things. And regardless of whether it's one specific situation that you can point out and say, this is what made me bitter about life, or whether it's just a multitude of experiences, uh, throughout time that you have not quite responded to properly. And a lot of times what happens is in those situations, those situations create this undesirable environment and then we react to this environment by becoming bitter or becoming salty or, uh, just overall having a bad taste in our mouth.

Speaker 1: (04:41)
And so what we want to look for is how do we identify where those things are? How do we identify where the root cause of this is and where these problems arose in the first place? Once we've identified where these issues have come from, we want to cleanse our Palate, right? When you go to a nice restaurant and you have a multiple course meal, typically you're going to get something in between to cleanse your palate, whether that is some crackers or let, let's say you're eating Sushi and you get the ginger to cleanse your palate in between. Right, and I know a lot of people just eat the ginger off the side of the play, but you know the purpose of that is to cleanse your palate and so too much of anything is never a good thing, right? And you'll begin to kind of dull your senses.

Speaker 1: (05:28)
The more that you look at one things from one perspective. So you have to remember that a lot of times this specific situation that has dulled your taste buds or or changed your perception of life, it's that one specific situation. It's that one specific dish that left a bad flavor in your mouth. It's not life as a whole. It's not the entire course. So it's about cleansing your palate so that the next experience does not have that same taste. It doesn't have that same negative connotation attached to it because of what has already happened. Once you've learned how to cleanse your palate, once you have been able to identify these things and you've cleansed that and now you have a neutral perspective, now you're at baseline. Now is the fun part. Right now you can begin to expand your palate. You can begin to try new flavors.

Speaker 1: (06:26)
She can see all the flavors that life has to offer and then beyond that you can refine your palate. You can begin to become optimized in finding your flavors in life and being able to maximize the experiences that you have in the tastes life philosophy. The ultimate level of being able to taste life would be similar to a sommollier, right? Somebody who in wine at least is able to have the most refined Palate available. They can pick up on the smallest nuances and hints of small different flavors that might exist and the more and more that you can refine your palate, the more and more you can pick up on these small little flavors in life, the more flavor that life has, the more complexity that you can find in life through the simplicity of enjoying it because the more things that you can find, the more flavors you can find, the more you're going to be able to have, be grateful for.

Speaker 1: (07:29)
The more you're going to, the more things that are you're going to take notice of that are going to make life that much more enjoyable for you. You must understand that your experience of life, your quality of life is 100% your responsibility, the experiences that you have had and the circumstances that you have been placed in are not what defines you, what defines you is the way that you have responded or reacted to these circumstances or these experiences. This not only defines you as a person, but this defines your perspective on life and that perspective is exactly what determines the quality of your life. Our goal is to help you shift that perspective. Our goal is to help you refine that perspective so that your quality of life is taste. Your quality of life is so good that you can actually taste it now. Don't get it twisted.

Speaker 1: (08:31)
Tastes life is not the illusion that there are no obstacles are that life is all sunshine and rainbows. This isn't about some smooth sailing life where everything is perfect. That's never quite attainable. Tastes life is the perception that obstacles and opposition are inherent in the human experience here on earth, but if you have the right tools, if you have the right wherewithal, you have the right perspective. You can maneuver through these obstacles and through this opposition in a way that never dulls your taste buds. It doesn't actually get the best of you. It gets the best out of you. With that being said, tastes life ultimately is about having full dominion over your reality, over your life. Not that you create your entire reality, right? We're cocreators, we're all in this thing together. There are multiple factors at play as far as your entire reality goes, but there are factors that you have control over.

Speaker 1: (09:37)
This is about identifying what you have control over, taking control over that part of your life to create a desired outcome, to push you in the direction of your dreams and the direction of your goals and ultimately creating the life that you desire. Creating a life where you feel fulfilled, creating a life where you're able to accomplish what it is you want and be able to give back in whatever the way that is to optimize your life experience. Ultimately being able to understand that life is an amazing, extraordinary experience that we are all getting to partake in. We're all participating in this thing and whether you look at it as a game or you look at it as a challenge or whatever, it is a journey. This life is something that we all participate in and we all have an opportunity here to do this, and maybe this is the only time that we get, maybe we get multiple, who knows?

Speaker 1: (10:35)
But our philosophy here is that while we're here, we should seize this opportunity in this life and we should get the most out of it that we possibly can. I believe all of us have been guilty at one time or the other of wasting way too much of this precious time that we have on things that really don't matter. This is about finding what matters in your life. What are the flavors of your life? What is it that really drives you? What is it that really sustains you? What is it that really quenches your thirst and satisfies your hunger? What is it that allows you to taste life? The answer to those questions are ultimately what we are here to continue to discover for herself and to help you discover. So I hope that you're as excited to be here with me as I am to have you here over the course of the next several months.
