imageLeading restaurant discovery tool, Taste Savant, today releases version 2.0 of their curated recommendation-based mobile application for iOS. Aggregating thousands of the best restaurants in several cities, Taste Savant features reviews from trusted sources like critics, chefs, and friends. The mobile application relies on geo location so users can quickly find the best restaurants nearby.

After being released less than two months ago, the latest version aims to provide users with a wider variety of features, including a unique addition, The Blackbook, available on the web and iOS. The Blackbook feature gives users the ability to create and maintain lists of restaurants through their Taste Savant account. Users are able to create multiple lists of places in their personalized Blackbook, naming them anything they’d like such as: Places I Want to Try, Date Restaurants, Guys Night Out, etc.

“The launch of our app in April was a huge success. We have received such positive feedback since then and we wanted to bring users new features that they were asking for,” says Sonia Kapadia, Founder & CEO. “With the updates, our goal is to provide a more personal experience where the tool becomes truly a one stop shop for users, particularly with The Blackbook.”

In addition to The Blackbook there are many updates. To ensure that reviews are as detailed as possible, users can now include what dishes they liked and didn’t like via the iOS app. Users can now also access the restaurant websites directly from the app. To offer users the very best in their respective city, currently New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston, Taste Savant has formed a cleaner search process, creating a quick and simple process to find the perfect restaurant for any occasion.

The location-based mobile app features advanced filters, including neighborhood, cuisine, occasion, and price range options, helping diners navigate through the very best restaurants in their cities quickly and easily. The app doesn’t end there – Users can view menus, make a restaurant reservation or order delivery, through partnerships with Open Table and Grub Hub.

Accessible by logging in via social outlets, Facebook and Twitter, users can directly peruse reviews from chefs, industry experts and friends. To provide those reviews, Taste Savant has partnered with big name chefs including Grant Achatz, David Chang, Michael White, Floyd Cardoz, Dakota Weiss, Marc Murphy, Matthias Merges, and Frank McClelland. Taste Savant also curates reviews from health and wellness experts from boutique fitness studios like Barry’s Bootcamp and Flywheel Sports. More recently, Taste Savant partnered with UrbanSitter to help parents with date night planning and has more exciting partnerships on the horizon in both the beauty and restaurant discovery markets.

Taste Savant’s updated app for the iPhone can be downloaded for free in the iTunes store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taste-savant/id828925581?mt=8
