Warm and relatable to everyone!
The Threads of LifeThank you so much Belinda. I am so touched and amazed you are listening all the way over in the US. Thank you.
So pleased Trish has produced this podcast. It's truly, authentically 'her' - kind, non-judgemental, warm, funny and chatty; listening on my dog walks is a really calming experience! As a previous reviewer said, everyone should learn about autism and neurodiversity, just as we should try to educate ourselves about race and gender, so that EVERYONE can be included and understood in our society. We have a long, long way to go, clearly (thankfully that absolute a***hole who accosted Trish after a long-haul flight is not typical, but that fear of difference is still out there), and this podcast is all part of the process. If you're a parent starting out on the diagnostic journey, please let Trish hold your hand. She really is as lovely as she sounds.
Brilliant platform to build a valuable community
The Threads of LifeAaaw, thanks Lindsay, so amazing that you are listening. Thank you 😊
I love this podcast! It’s honest, informative, touching and very educational, not to mention at times quite funny! It is not just for anyone living with autism but for everyone. We should all try to understand the world of autism better because it is all around us if we take the time to look and understand, and to accept and help. Shamefully, until not so long ago, I was one of those parents that would scowled at other parents that could not keep their children under control. I now know that while there are still those parents that couldn’t really care less, there are also those parents, like Trish, who are simply trying to lead ‘normal’ (careful how we use that word these days) lives with their little boy who is extremely challenged by every environment he is faced with. Watching Rain Man and thinking we’ve got it covered is not enough. I have learnt so much from Trish - not least of all to not be so judgmental and to take the time to try understand people’s behaviour around me so that I may react in a kinder more educated way. Three Cheers to Trish and Threads of Autism, I hope this podcast goes far!!
The Threads of LifeWhat an amazing review, wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feelings. Whilst I want so much to help parents of autistic children like me, I absolutely do also want people who do…
Just got round to listening to episode 1 - it’s fabulous, relatable and honest. Congratulations Trish - it will help so many 💛
