This week on The Uncharted Leader we’re talking with award winning emerging leader Dr Manasi Murthy Mittiny about the catalyst of meaningful change and her passion for preventative strategies to help families live a meaningful, pain-free, life by understanding the role of culture and belief systems on our health.
Manasi is physician scientist at the Flinders University with a MD (Medicine, Dean’s medal) a PhD (Medicine) and Advanced Global Clinical Scholar Research Fellow with Harvard Medical School. She’s also a recipient of prestigious awards including the 2023 Finalist Australian Stellar South Asian Women, Harvard Mobility Grant (2023), Women’s Agenda Emerging Leader in Health Award (2022) and the Australian Government Funded Endeavour Postdoctoral fellowship (2018).
Her novel translational work has started powerful conversations around sex, gender, religion, racial inclusivity and much more. Her own experience of living with pain, following a major accident as a child that left third degree burns on her body, was the catalyst for change that led to her purpose of bringing more rigour to differences in the lived experience of pain for people from diverse cultural backgrounds, in particular First Nations People, culturally and linguistically (CALD) communities.
Ignite your passion and amplify the impact you have in the world.
