In 1995, 15-year-old Brandon Vinson went to his job at the Win-Dixie in Redbank. At some point in the afternoon, he left the store. The circumstances of him leaving are not widely known - only by the people who were involved.

3 days later, his body was found stabbed 72 times in Lexington County.  Investigators developed a suspect by the name of Calen Radwill, and he was charged with Brandon's death. After 10 years in custody, he took what is called an Alford Plea, meaning he would serve another 10 years, and was eventually released in 2015.

There are many and substantial and troubling issues with the case. Several questions remain about other people who may have been involved, and the investigation itself.

The Investigation Unit of the Unfinished Files continues to re-evaluate the case, evidence, and other matters related to the case.

After Calen's plea was accepted in 2005, Brandon's father, Tim Vinson, Calen's attorney John Delgado, and then Solicitor Trey Gowdy appeared on WVOC to talk about the case.

The Unfinished Files

TheUnfinished Foundation is a not-for-profit investigative organization created to advocate and investigate, on behalf of victims and families of crime.

​The Unfinished Files is a podcast, hosted by award winning television and radio personality Tyler Ryan and seasoned private investigator Brian Setree.

Ryan and Setree founded the Unfinished, and together re-examine cases, sharing details, interviewing people involved with the case, and many times, exploring new information in hopes of bringing peace and closure to those involved.

Often times, the only interaction people have with law enforcement isn’t the most positive - lights in your rear view mirror - and we know NOBODY likes to be stopped - but of the other -  when you are a victim, law enforcement gives everything they can to serve.  Remember that officers are not on the job for the money or glory - but even their heart to protect and serve come limitations.

The limitations may be manpower, budgets, resources, or even experience...or in some cases, theories that simply can’t be explored - that is where The Unfinished Foundation comes in.

The seasoned investigative members of the Foundation work WITH law enforcement, victims, families, and in many cases, suspects of crimes or incidents. Our mission is to provided an unattached set of eyes, experiences, attained evidence to find closure for all parties involved.

The work of the Unfinished Foundation is often provided at no cost to the client, however, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, The Unfinished Foundation does accept donations in order to continue their mission of advocacy, peace, and justice for victims of crimes.
