Hello friends! Welcome to the Unspun and Unwound podcast, episode 2 and today we will be speaking with Jeff Downie of The Old Firehouse Wine and Cocktail Bar. Wow! What a cool conversation we had. There was a bit of procrastination that took place between the time of recording and now but this conversation is meant to be shared with the world. Overall, I am happy with the way the interview went but the audio was definitely hard to work with. I can't stress to pack a backup recorder. That being said, I can warn you people about the poor quality audio for the first 6 minutes or so... It eventually cleans up(not enough to remove the sound of clanging glasses.) Either way this deserves to be shared and not hidden away on my hard drive.

With all of this podcasting fun, I became even more excited to talk with more interesting people that make amazing things with their hands and their minds. Talking with Jeff also got me wanting to get more booze to mix together, so much so that I will give out a recipe for an apertif that I made for new years eve last year.

1.5 Oz Ampersand gin(optional and for those who want to party)

2 Oz St. Germaine elderflower liquor

1 Oz Dry Vermouth

2 dashes of orange bitters

Stir on ice and pour into a tumbler glass

Top with Phillips ginger ale and add ice.

Garnish with an orange peel
