The second half of our "host experiment" concludes with Thomas Dane and our season one, episode one king, Albert Beniada, interviewing our other co-host, Jenny Gomez. The "straying journey" starts just like so many of our creatives - at a young age, in church. Jenny's journey allowed her to ride the wave for many years in theater and a little sprinkle of film and TV before she pivoted to the corporate world. But, like so many of our Unusual Creatures that chose some more steady nine-to-five work, the creativity is still what fuels her.

Jenny began her career in Florida, working in theater, film and bilingual commercials. There, she also started her own theater company with Thomas Dane, The Baby Factor. Jenny studied in the UK at RADA and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and then moved to New York where she continued her creative journey, working with theaters such as the Ensemble Studio Theater, the Public Theater and was produced by Ars Nova as a playwright. She also started a small one-season short-play festival called The September Play Project and dabbled in stand up comedy, which she adored but was utterly terrified by. She pivoted to a career in marketing via her entertainment work, and started working in social media strategy for Broadway working with clients such as John Leguizamo and Alicia Keys through Bay Bridge Productions. Afterwards, she spent 15 years in the tech industry working her way up to Vice President, before leaving to start Kitché and a soon-to-be-launched brick and mortar business that she’s keeping under wraps - for now. She lives in Durham, North Carolina where she enjoys exploring the South with her husband and rambunctious pup, Beatrix Kiddo and is currently the President of Kitché, the agency she runs that specializes in nostalgic, irreverent and kitschy marketing work.

Let's dig in and hear what happens when you stray - and whether or not it may be been worth it to leave the world of full-time arts behind. It's never an easy choice.
