Our conversation today with Chris Konyar, Director of Winchester City Parks & Recreation took place at Jim Barnett Park and included details for several new programs.

Chris gave an update on Preston's turf fields which are now open and in use. The new lights will be installed later this month. He also told us of future plans for new lights and gave details on the progress of the pollinator meadow that will be coming to the arboretum.

We discussed summer planning for activities like summer camps, the outdoor pool and need for lifeguards and the introduction of seasonal recreational offerings such as flag football, ultimate Frisbee, and pickleball tournaments.
