1:44
Hello. Hello.
1:45
Welcome back to the wellness cafe
1:47
podcast, your go to Hot
1:49
Girl Walk podcast. What
1:51
is up? Today, we are doing the
1:54
comprehensive
1:55
holiday
1:56
Christmas guide part
1:59
too. Because
1:59
last week, I got talking a little
2:02
bit too much about the night routine. I
2:04
don't take it back. I think
2:06
the night routine deserves all the talk
2:08
right now. I am so into it. So
2:10
if you missed that episode, go listen
2:13
to it after this one to get on the night routine
2:15
vibes. but
2:16
they were going to carry it on and
2:18
lean into more of the social aspects
2:21
like bucket list ideas, gift
2:23
ideas, and all of those good things.
2:26
I
2:26
hope you're having a great week. If
2:28
you did candle at Pilates at
2:30
bedtime after listening to last week's
2:32
episode, how was it? Was
2:34
it everything I said it would be? How
2:36
high were the vibes? I need to know.
2:39
My weekly update is that Oh,
2:41
actually, yeah, I went to Vans,
2:43
so I went back to Vancouver to see Broad
2:46
for the weekend and it was
2:48
so much fun.
2:50
I was so excited to be back
2:52
in that city because I love Vancouver
2:55
and now that I'm feeling better and
2:57
I have been really working on getting
2:59
back into routine and prioritizing the
3:01
habits that make me feel good. I
3:03
was able to enjoy the city again
3:05
and go to host concept and
3:07
go for a walk and get a smoothie and
3:09
go out for dinner with Brody. And
3:12
it was just really nice to feel like
3:14
myself again and enjoy the city
3:16
and it was just such a good
3:18
time. I love that city so much. I
3:20
will definitely be going back for longer soon,
3:22
but I think I need a little just a little
3:24
bit longer to get back into routine at
3:26
home. You know. But with that being
3:28
said, I know a lot of people
3:31
will be wondering this. So I just thought I
3:33
would talk about it. I don't regret
3:35
my decision to get another
3:37
place in Edmonton and be here for a little
3:39
while. I was excited to come
3:41
back and I'm still very happy
3:43
and think it was the right decision to
3:45
do
3:45
what
3:46
I needed for my mental health and
3:49
to show up as the highest version of myself
3:51
and get back on track and feel like me again.
3:53
I do know that I made the right decision for
3:55
that even though I do love that Vancouver
3:58
so much and obviously it was hard
3:59
because I missed the apartment, like
4:02
my dream apartment, all all of
4:04
that is all over in Vancouver. It was my
4:06
dream. But ultimately, I
4:08
had to do what was best for my mental
4:10
health and that wasn't that at the moment
4:12
and that is completely fine and I'm very
4:14
content with that and I have accepted
4:17
that and I was very happy to come
4:19
home see my family, see my
4:21
friends. So that is that.
4:23
This weekend, I also started
4:25
tell me well, started
4:28
and finished Tell me lies
4:30
on Disney plus because I was
4:32
watching the Kardashians, and I saw that it
4:34
recommended tell me lies beneath it.
4:37
And why are people not talking
4:39
about this show more? I hadn't even
4:41
heard of it. I didn't know what it was, but I
4:43
thought I would click on it because the
4:45
teaser looked really good, and
4:47
holy
4:48
shit. I binged it all in one
4:50
night. I sat up till three
4:53
in the morning. I haven't done
4:55
that in so long. I kept saying,
4:57
you need to go to bed. You need to go to bed. Go
4:59
to bed. One more episode. And then before
5:01
you know three o'clock and I finished
5:03
the entire series in one night.
5:05
It was to the point where I was watching it on
5:07
my laptop. I started it while
5:09
I was cooking dinner and then I ate dinner
5:11
watching cleaned up dinner watching it.
5:14
I took my laptop to the
5:16
freaking bathroom to do my skincare with
5:18
me to keep watching it. because I
5:20
could not put it down. Oh
5:22
my goodness. If any of you have
5:24
watched tell me lies, the
5:26
last episode sowed absolutely sent
5:28
me. And if there is not a season two,
5:30
I might cry. But I woke up the
5:32
next day, I told just to watch it, Rachel
5:34
Brody, I said, you all need to watch this
5:36
show right now. So that's
5:38
really all I've done. Yesterday, Jess and
5:40
I did stairs. The stairmaster
5:43
era still going strong. And then I
5:45
went home and visited my family for a
5:47
little bit. I couldn't go for long because I
5:49
had to work. But I just went and
5:51
said hi, and I got some homemade
5:53
from my mom that I brought home that I'm going to have for
5:55
dinner tonight. But on the way home, I
5:57
called Brody while I was driving and I
6:00
just told him that how happy
6:02
that made me to be able to just go
6:04
visit my family and I just was really
6:06
expressing my gratitude for it and just had a
6:08
moment of, like, just eye
6:10
of relief and it just felt so good
6:12
and that is really when I knew I made the right
6:14
decision for myself to
6:17
get this place in Edmonton. so
6:19
many people on social media keep asking me
6:21
what's going on, and I feel like
6:23
there's so much to explain. And I think
6:25
I've done a good job of it if you've listened to
6:27
every episode, but if you've been asking
6:29
me and I haven't been replying, I
6:31
am I'm sorry. I mean,
6:33
it's kind of a long story. So if
6:35
you listen to all the pot up
6:37
those that have been out recently. It it
6:39
should be summed up pretty well.
6:41
But long story short, I
6:43
just needed to come home for my
6:45
mental health, and I'm doing a lot better,
6:48
just insanely better. And I was
6:50
so happy just leaving and being able to
6:52
quickly go see my family when I want
6:54
say hi, have a hug, ask them
6:56
how they're doing, grab some homemade
6:58
soup from my mom and go home
7:00
and keep working. So that
7:02
is what I
7:04
did this week, weekly segments
7:06
what I'm having. First off, I am still
7:08
having Candellet Pilates
7:11
at bedtime. You best believe I
7:13
will be doing that tonight. And
7:15
I also stole my little sister's sunset
7:17
lamp and I put it on in the corner
7:19
while I'm doing it. It's a vibe. I
7:21
get into it. You need to try it
7:23
if you haven't yet. Turn all the lights
7:25
off. Light candle and just do some
7:27
yoga or pilates or stretch
7:29
before bed. And it just sets the tone for
7:31
the whole entire evening. So I'm really
7:33
into that. I'm also staying
7:35
strong on the no coffee on an
7:37
empty stomach. I just decided that
7:39
this time I am following
7:41
through. with the habit that I want to
7:43
implement into my routine and
7:45
that was kind of that. The first time that I
7:47
tried to cut it out on an empty stomach, I feel
7:49
like I just wasn't serious. And
7:52
this time, I just decided that
7:54
I want to implement this habit
7:56
and I'm going to follow through on it. So I
7:58
just never have coffee on an empty
7:59
stomach anymore. And that's exactly
8:02
how it goes when you are trying to
8:04
implement a new habit. You have
8:06
to just have some tough
8:07
love on yourself and if it's something that
8:09
you want, a behavior or a habit
8:11
or a routine or practice, anything
8:13
that you want
8:14
in your life and you want it there,
8:16
just show up for yourself
8:18
and follow through on the habits that
8:20
you want in your life. Because if you
8:22
think about having them, just show up
8:24
for yourself in the present moment to
8:27
create that habit as a reality. And obviously,
8:30
it's not always that easy, but that's why it is
8:32
best to incorporate habits
8:34
into routine one by one so
8:36
that you only have to focus on one
8:38
thing at a time. That makes it a
8:40
lot easier and a lot more realistic to
8:42
create healthy habits and a new
8:44
routine for yourself when you're only focusing
8:46
on one thing at a time. So that's a
8:48
habit that I've recently
8:50
incorporated and And I can't say
8:52
that I've seen a crazy
8:54
difference, but hopefully over time,
8:56
I'll be able to tell. I mean, I
8:58
definitely don't get coffee jitters in the
9:00
morning anymore. But hopefully, over time,
9:02
I'll be able to notice a difference
9:04
and look back and see how it went. Oh
9:06
my goodness. Another thing, this is a
9:08
product, but I have to tell you and
9:10
get you on. It is the ordinary
9:12
lash and brow peptide
9:14
serum. It is fifteen dollars.
9:16
It is still affordable. That is why I love
9:18
the ordinary products. because they
9:20
work and they're affordable. So it's a
9:22
win win. I got it from Sephora. I
9:24
got two bottles of it and I've been
9:26
using it. I want to Sephora four
9:28
weeks now and I don't use it on my eyebrows,
9:31
but I use it on my eyelashes because
9:33
who else absolutely just
9:36
droict their eyelashes, getting
9:38
lash extensions a couple years
9:40
ago. Like, I had them I
9:42
think I had them on for a year straight
9:44
at one point and then on and off another
9:47
couple months here and there. But
9:49
of course, that was before I
9:51
was introduced to the
9:53
fact that less is
9:55
more and natural
9:57
clean beauty for the wind. So
9:59
I've been very minimal with my makeup
10:01
lately, but my
10:03
eyelashes were nubs
10:05
from the eyelash extension
10:07
era of my life. And I love
10:09
the ordinary products. If you have watched
10:11
my YouTube videos for a while, like
10:13
before I even started the pod. You will know that
10:15
I use the buffet serum and the
10:17
caffeine serum as part of my morning
10:19
routine religiously for about or
10:21
three years now, so I knew I liked their products,
10:23
and I thought I would try out the lash and
10:25
brow serum. It is so easy to use.
10:27
You just apply it on your lash line. I do
10:29
it morning and night. I have
10:31
seen a noticeable difference in
10:33
my eyelashes after just
10:35
four weeks, so I cannot wait
10:37
to see what they look
10:39
like after even longer. It is
10:41
insane. I think it's the best
10:43
fifteen dollars I
10:44
have ever spent. So I just
10:46
could not gay keep that from you, and I
10:48
had to let you know.
10:49
So run, don't walk to get the
10:52
ordinary lash serum
10:53
if you're also recovering from eyelash
10:55
extensions like myself.
10:57
Okay. There's one more thing that I
10:59
just
10:59
discovered a recipe and I had
11:01
to share because it is also too good to
11:03
not tell you. When I was in van, I
11:06
went to a workout at my favorite gym
11:08
host concepts and they had launched
11:10
protein powder since the
11:12
last time I was there and they were kind
11:14
enough to give me a big box of all of them
11:16
to try. So I was
11:18
hungry and I thought, what the heck? Let's
11:20
just try and mix up a chocolate
11:23
protein smoothie with just what I
11:25
have You know, I wasn't following a recipe
11:27
and I created the best
11:29
protein smoothie I have ever
11:31
had. So I did a little bit of milk and
11:33
a little bit of water. But today, I made
11:35
it again and I used iced
11:37
coffee as the base because I wanted
11:39
some caffeine. So you can also do
11:41
that. And then I put in a
11:43
ton of frozen banana. And
11:45
the number one thing that I always
11:47
have on dock in the apartment is cut up
11:49
bananas in Tupperware. Just
11:51
already pre cut in the freezer, ready to
11:53
go for easy access when I want to
11:55
make a smoothie or something like that. that
11:57
is another tip to just get in the routine of always
12:00
having that stocked up for all your
12:02
smoothie protein shake needs. So I did
12:04
frozen banana and then did
12:06
cinnamon almond butter and the chocolate
12:08
protein powder. And this was
12:10
the best protein
12:12
shake I've ever had. I don't know
12:14
I think the host concept protein powder
12:16
is really good because it didn't have
12:18
that chalk, taste, and it was
12:20
just so creamy and
12:22
delicious. I literally I made it
12:24
for Jess and I the first time I made
12:26
it and we were just amazed
12:29
at how good it was. We were just drinking
12:31
it, looking at each other like holy shit.
12:33
This is amazing because you know once in a
12:35
while when you try protein powder and
12:37
it just doesn't hit and it
12:39
has weird texture. I don't
12:41
know. You know, protein powders can be
12:43
weird, but this one was amazing.
12:45
And I also think I discovered the
12:47
best almond butter ever. For my
12:49
Canadian girls, I got it from Savon
12:51
in the organic aisle. It is the
12:53
only goodness almond
12:55
butter. And the ingredients was only
12:57
dry roasted almonds, which
12:59
makes me so happy because
13:01
last time I picked up an almond butter, I just
13:03
forgot to look at and that is
13:05
something I try to do. I'm not
13:07
very strict on it and I don't do it
13:09
all the time, but I like to be cognizant of
13:11
the ingredients that I'm putting in my body
13:13
obviously. So after the fact,
13:15
I looked at the label and saw that the
13:17
almond butter had palm oil in it,
13:19
which is a no no for
13:21
me. So I checked this label
13:23
before I bought it and it had only
13:25
almonds in it, brought it home, and it
13:27
is the best almond butter. I have ever
13:29
tried. Besides the one from Sun
13:31
Life Organics that
13:33
if you know you know it put me on
13:35
almond butter, that one is the almond
13:37
butter of all almond butter. It is
13:39
how I discovered my love for it, but
13:41
I found a new one that you can buy.
13:43
It is insane if you're looking for a good
13:45
almond butter, I have post it
13:47
on my Instagram stories. I think
13:49
I've posted it twice this week actually
13:52
because it is that good. And after I made the
13:54
smoothie for Jess, she's also going to get
13:56
it. So there's your little
13:58
fall holiday protein
13:59
shake recipe and spa. It
14:02
is the best if you're looking for a
14:04
little protein shake after a workout
14:06
or like a quick snack best thing
14:08
ever. And once again, I've been
14:10
talking for way too long Because
14:12
when I am happy and excited about something,
14:15
I can ramble. And that is how you
14:17
know I'm doing better again. But what
14:19
I'm grateful for, I I'm
14:21
going to use what I called Brodie About. I'm just so
14:24
grateful to be able to see my
14:26
family. I'm grateful for making the hard
14:28
decision to move home and prioritize
14:30
my mental health. I'm grateful for the
14:32
sun. I'm grateful for my friends and for
14:34
all of you listening. I'm grateful to
14:36
be able to move my body
14:38
so much every day to be
14:39
grateful for. So here's a
14:42
reminder to take a moment just a
14:44
couple seconds and think of one thing
14:46
that you are grateful for today. to
14:47
get in the right head space to go
14:49
on with your day
14:50
and listen to the rest of this
14:52
episode.
14:52
What I am working on? Okay.
14:55
I hadn't thought of something for this week and I was
14:57
about to say nothing in particular
15:00
because that is totally fine and you don't always
15:02
have to be working on something. And then I
15:04
just thought to myself that with the holidays
15:06
coming and Black Friday sales and all of
15:08
that, I want to be very
15:10
cognizant and aware of
15:12
my spending and just
15:14
because it's on sale doesn't mean I need
15:16
it. I am totally being a hypocrite after
15:18
saying this because I just land
15:20
texted me that Skims was having a
15:22
underwear sale. and I immediately bought
15:24
six pairs, but that is actually
15:26
something I have been needing forever.
15:28
For some reason, I just can't find
15:30
good underwear anywhere. So I did actually
15:32
need that, but I just get sucked
15:34
into the sales during the holidays.
15:36
I spend so much money. So I think
15:38
what I'm going to be working on from here
15:40
on out and throughout all the holidays
15:42
is just do I really need it?
15:44
Or is it just something cute for the
15:46
holidays that I won't actually use?
15:48
You know? but I have been talking
15:50
forever, but that is it for our weekly
15:52
segments. Let's get right into the
15:54
episode. I hope you enjoy it.
15:57
Okay. Welcome back to the comprehensive
15:59
that
15:59
girl holiday guide
16:02
holiday checklist. This
16:05
episode was recommended by a comment
16:07
on the wellness cafe Instagram, and
16:09
then I put up a questionnaire to
16:11
see what you wanted to hear about,
16:13
and the most common answers
16:15
were bucket list ideas, how
16:17
to romanticize the winter and
16:20
colder months how to
16:21
stay motivated and get movement
16:23
in during the winter, gift ideas,
16:25
recipes, and romanticizing
16:28
the holidays when you're single.
16:30
So we're going to get into all of that that
16:32
I didn't cover in part one. And
16:34
if you miss part one, that is okay. You can
16:36
just go listen to it after this episode.
16:38
In that episode, I already touched on romanticizing
16:41
the holidays when you're
16:43
single. But I just want to remind
16:45
you again that you
16:47
are enough on
16:49
your own. And there is
16:51
no reason why you can't go out and
16:53
do all the things with your friends
16:55
at family or just alone
16:57
your worth and your
16:59
ability to be happy and
17:01
enjoy something should
17:03
not and is not
17:05
determined by if you have a romantic
17:08
partner or not, but I
17:10
totally get it. It can be frustrating
17:12
if that is something you're looking for
17:14
and maybe your friends surrounding you
17:16
are doing cute couple things or
17:18
scrolling Instagram, you see cute couples,
17:20
and it may you wish but I promise
17:22
you the right person will come into
17:25
your life at the right time. And in
17:27
the meantime, just focus
17:30
on being the best version of
17:32
yourself and find things that make you
17:34
happy and romanticize the
17:36
holidays on your own. You seriously
17:38
don't need anyone. And this goes back to when I
17:40
talk about the law of
17:42
attraction and practicing being
17:44
of magnet. If you want
17:46
to attract a romantic partner
17:48
into your life that is going to treat you
17:50
correctly, treat you like a
17:52
queen, make you happy. The best
17:54
thing to do is treat
17:56
yourself like that
17:58
in the meantime and allow
18:00
yourself to be treated with all this
18:02
positivity and all this self
18:04
care and love from yourself.
18:06
Love yourself first and that
18:08
will allow the right person to
18:10
be attracted to you because you've
18:13
been focusing on being a magnet for positive things
18:15
and experiences and people to come
18:17
your way that you desire and that you
18:19
are trying to attract. So
18:22
focus on your positivity and
18:24
loving yourself, being kind to
18:26
yourself, all these bucket list ideas that
18:28
I'm about to get into, all these things
18:30
on how to stay motivated, These are all
18:32
things that you can do for you and you don't
18:34
need anyone else. I promise you that.
18:36
Every single thing happens for a
18:38
reason and I truly one hundred
18:41
percent believe that. And if
18:43
you're feeling like you're left out because you
18:45
don't have
18:45
a relationship, just know
18:48
that
18:48
what's meant for you will come to you
18:50
at the
18:50
right time and at the exact time that
18:52
you're ready for it. Just focus on doing
18:55
you and living your dreams and work your
18:57
goals, working on yourself, at your
18:59
mental health, at your self care, your
19:01
fitness, all of the above in the
19:03
meantime. So that's is my little reminder
19:05
for that because I know I already touched on it in part one.
19:07
So let's move into how to get movement
19:09
in and stay motivated in
19:12
the winter. because I definitely
19:14
hear you. A change of seasons
19:16
can always mess up your routine and
19:18
it is definitely harder to get your
19:20
butt out of bed in the morning
19:22
and drive in the cold and in the dark
19:24
to the gym in the morning, I totally
19:26
get it. So first of all, if you're
19:28
lacking motivation right now, that
19:30
is completely valid and totally
19:32
fair. I'm pretty sure all of us
19:34
are feeling that. So don't be hard
19:36
on yourself if you're feeling this. A
19:38
couple things that I find that work that
19:40
may work for you with a new season to stay
19:42
motivated is to change
19:44
and pivot with the seasons.
19:46
So maybe try switching it up and
19:48
doing a new workup. if
19:50
you've been going to the gym and weight lifting. Maybe
19:52
try throwing in a new movement like
19:54
an exercise class, a
19:56
hot pilates, a hot yoga,
19:59
boxing, swimming, there are
20:02
so many different
20:04
resources and different places to go to get
20:06
your move and sometimes if you've
20:08
been doing the same thing for a while, all
20:10
your body needs to get reinspired and
20:13
re fall in love with movement
20:15
and get excited for it again and be
20:18
ready to jump out of bed because you're
20:20
craving those endorphins and
20:22
that sweat and that rush that you
20:24
get from moving your body and feeling
20:26
good. Sometimes all you need
20:28
is to switch it up and try
20:30
something new and just get a little change. So
20:32
I would definitely recommend just maybe trying
20:34
to switch things up if you're feeling off
20:36
or less motivated because I totally
20:38
hear you. It can be hard in the winter. And
20:40
I just think it's super beneficial to
20:42
pivot with the seasons. So that is
20:44
why I'm really into the candle of Pilates
20:47
at nighttime now in the
20:49
summer. Like, no chance that, you know, I'm not
20:51
going to be doing that in the summer. It's
20:53
light out at night. I'm having fun. I like to
20:55
wake up early and do my
20:57
morning movement. now with the change of the
20:59
seasons, it is fueling me
21:01
and making me excited to switch up my
21:03
routine and do candlelit pilates
21:05
as my movement at the end of the
21:07
day. So I would really just try and experiment
21:09
to find what works for you, try some
21:11
new things out, and you will get that motivation
21:13
back in no time. After
21:16
Brodie left, weekend back to Vancouver
21:18
because he also we
21:20
drove back to Edmonton from Vancouver and
21:22
had a couple days here together. I
21:24
was feeling a little lonely, you know. all of a
21:26
sudden, I'm back to being on my own.
21:28
And I thought to myself, you know what?
21:30
What the heck? Let's just have a
21:32
big Christmas holiday inspired
21:34
day. Let's just have a day. You and I. I
21:36
took myself out on a date and I went to
21:38
HomeSense. And I I
21:40
think I blacked out. I think I was in home
21:42
sense for about an hour looking
21:44
at Christmas decor. But one thing I got
21:46
is Christmas,
21:47
no pods. that have to do
21:49
list and a checkmark box next to
21:52
them. And I've been back into my
21:54
to do list. So this
21:56
is something that really helps me stay motivated is
21:58
physically writing down what I
22:00
need to get done. And I swear
22:02
you just feel way more in aspired
22:04
to get it done when you are physically
22:06
writing the check mark off, you're
22:08
taking the boxes, you can physically
22:11
see yourself getting all your to do list done. And this is
22:13
always something that really motivates me to
22:15
get through my list, especially when I
22:17
have a lot of things to do. in
22:19
the beginning of the day or at nighttime. Honestly, whenever
22:21
the ideas come to me, I like to just do
22:23
a brain dump of absolutely everything
22:26
that has been on my mind and in
22:28
my mental to do list,
22:30
taking it to the paper and
22:32
writing it down and seeing what I need
22:34
to get done and seeing myself accomplish
22:37
them as I go through the list. really
22:39
helps me to get through the to do list,
22:41
especially with tedious tasks that
22:43
I have been putting off. So I
22:45
would highly recommend physically writing
22:47
down your to do list Checking them off
22:49
as you accomplish them. This is totally
22:51
something that will help you stay motivated and
22:54
productive and inspired to get
22:56
through that to do list.
22:58
Another thing. that I have talked about
23:00
before is goal setting. So
23:02
maybe you're not as motivated and
23:04
you want to set a goal to
23:06
work out four times during
23:08
the week. And you want to do
23:10
that two weeks in a row, and you tell
23:12
yourself, okay. This is my goal. This
23:14
is how I'm going to achieve it. This is
23:16
something that is realistic. First
23:18
of all, always remember to
23:20
make realistic goals for yourself because you
23:22
don't want to set yourself up
23:24
for failure. So you set a realistic goal to work out four
23:26
times during the week to stay motivated
23:28
and be in your comeback era. And
23:30
then maybe after the second week,
23:32
of accomplishing the goal that you want to accomplish. It's
23:34
the holiday season. There are so
23:36
many cute Christmas things, as I
23:38
mentioned, during the what I'm working on,
23:41
but if you have stayed motivated
23:43
and you have done the goal that
23:45
you promised yourself you would do for two
23:47
weeks in a row, go treat yourself. Okay?
23:49
Go get a Starbucks coffee
23:51
go get a Christmas coffee drink from
23:54
Starbucks, maybe go treat yourself to a new pair
23:56
of cozy Christmas PJs
23:58
to elevate your night routine, setting
24:00
a goal and
24:02
having a reward for hitting that goal
24:04
is a very healthy and very
24:06
realistic way to accomplish
24:08
your goals. And it's the holiday
24:10
season, so you deserve to treat
24:12
yourself. And I know that you are capable
24:14
of following through on your goals that you want
24:16
to make for yourself and staying
24:18
motivated all winter
24:20
long. Okay. Let's get into bucket
24:22
list ideas, all of those
24:24
good things. I'm just going to rally them off really
24:26
fast because I have a lot of good ideas.
24:28
And I also went back and looked at what I do
24:30
in the winter months with friends how
24:32
we have fun in the winter, and I
24:35
guarantee you you will not be bored after
24:37
this list. So first of all,
24:39
all of these can be done with your
24:41
girlfriends or partners, or
24:43
honestly, they are equally as fun
24:45
alone. Give yourself a little date
24:47
night. Any of are very
24:49
flexible and can be done with anyone.
24:51
And for my girl leaves
24:53
who are a legal drinking age,
24:56
obviously, all of these
24:58
ideas are also they
24:59
also pair nicely with a nice
25:01
glass of red or winter sangria
25:04
or a fun cocktail. You know? Okay.
25:06
So the first one is gingerbread House
25:09
Wars, but I'm not talking
25:10
like just buying a gingerbread set
25:12
and trying
25:13
to go through just your classic
25:15
set. I'm talking about going to
25:17
bulk barn, getting so
25:19
many different original crafty
25:22
candies as decoration for your
25:24
gingerbread house and, like, really getting into
25:27
it, grab your friends, go to
25:29
someone's house, set it up, make it a
25:31
whole night put the right playlist
25:33
on, and it will be a time. The
25:35
next thing I kind of briefly touched on
25:37
this last episode is something you can do
25:39
alone, but get inspired to
25:42
really decorate your Christmas presents
25:45
nicely and aesthetic. I love to
25:47
scroll on Pinterest and get inspired
25:49
with fun ways to decorate presents. because
25:51
buying presents for people is one of the best parts
25:53
of the holidays. In one of my
25:55
psychology classes about brain and behavior, we
25:58
actually learned about how there was just all these
26:00
studies done about how it makes you
26:02
happier to spend money on others rather
26:04
than yourself. So that
26:06
is probably why you get so excited to buy presents for
26:08
other people, but make a little
26:10
date out of it, go out, get in the
26:12
mood, to get your presents for everyone, and
26:15
it can a whole
26:17
day of doing things. If you take
26:19
yourself out on a date, get all the
26:21
wrapping papers, I like to do a
26:23
theme for all my presents and you
26:25
can make it so fun and it is a way
26:27
to get off your phone. It is something
26:29
creative. It calms your mind.
26:31
This is one of my favorite things to
26:33
do and every single year I try
26:35
to do like a different theme and
26:37
wrap my presents in a different way.
26:39
Next up. Okay. Stay with me here.
26:41
This one is very weird. But
26:43
last year, I got
26:45
invited to go to Kendall Jenner's
26:48
818 tequila virtual
26:50
Christmas party thing, and it was with
26:53
a magician, Dan
26:55
White, and we did a virtual magic
26:57
show. And going into that, I
26:59
a magic show was not something I was interested
27:01
in. You know? I was like, okay, what is
27:03
this going to be? And Rachel did it
27:05
with me. And when I tell you
27:07
it was one of the wildest and
27:10
funnest things I have ever
27:12
done. I was shocked
27:14
I had never thought that
27:17
a magic show would be something that
27:19
I would be interested in, but it was
27:21
so His name is Dan White. I don't
27:23
know if he's still doing virtual magic
27:25
shows, but I just thought I would add that to the
27:27
list because it was so fun we did tequila
27:29
cocktails with the 818 and
27:31
then popcorn and did the magic show. And
27:33
it was a whole evening. We got dressed up
27:35
at home, and it was a time. So I had
27:37
to add that in there. Obviously, you can
27:39
do some holiday baking, cookie
27:42
decorating, you can do a sip
27:44
and paint night where you make a fun
27:46
drink and get some canvases. layout
27:48
newspapers and everyone just paints a canvas
27:50
with the music on. I
27:53
love to make espresso martinis
27:55
in the winter her and a charcuterie board and
27:58
red wine. All of those things
27:59
are a vibe, so just have a
28:02
girly cocktail, Christmas
28:04
cocktail night, make the our
28:06
kudry board, everyone brings one
28:08
different thing for the board or
28:10
everyone someone's on drinks, someone's on
28:12
the board, you know,
28:14
that's a whole night. something that I
28:16
always get re into in
28:18
the winter is puzzles.
28:20
I'm very into things that just allow you
28:22
to take a break from your phone
28:24
and just tap into what
28:26
your creativity well, not even creativity,
28:28
but it's just things that are therapeutic and
28:32
allow you just be in the present moment. No one is
28:34
on their phone. You're all doing a
28:36
puzzle or a board game. I
28:38
love puzzles in the winter. I
28:40
really like Gray Mallin. He does
28:42
some amazing travel photography,
28:44
and his pieces are just
28:47
stunning. I'm sure you have seen
28:49
them before. but his pieces have
28:51
actually been created into puzzles as
28:53
well. So there are these elaborate,
28:56
intricate photos turned
28:58
into a puzzle, so they take so
29:00
long. I think you can get them on Amazon
29:02
for like twenty dollars. And I
29:04
got one of a place that Brody
29:06
and I traveled to in Italy, so it
29:08
was like very nostalgic for me
29:10
and reminded me of the great trip we
29:12
had and it took so long and we had
29:14
so much fun you just put the music on and
29:16
hang out, you focus on the no
29:18
one's on their phone. It is very
29:20
quality time together and it's definitely
29:22
fun. But I feel like these are the things that
29:24
you forget about and never
29:26
really have the idea. you know, you
29:28
won't just be sitting there and be like, hey, let's do a puzzle. So
29:30
I really tried to pull out all the ideas
29:32
that are maybe less
29:34
common or not at the top of
29:36
your mind as much. So
29:38
a puzzle nay is a very fun idea.
29:40
I also love making winter sangria
29:43
from scratch. and Gigi Hadid vodka pasta,
29:45
you know that cooking is like one
29:47
of my favorite ways to pass the time. So that
29:49
can be on your bucket list is to
29:52
make it pasta sauce from scratch with
29:54
your friends or just buy yourself on
29:56
a date, you can do that. You know,
29:58
it's just fun to
29:59
tap into hobbies that you've
30:02
forgot about or hobbies and things
30:04
that you haven't done for a while. Because
30:06
most of the time, you will surprise yourself
30:08
at how much fun. You have
30:10
just cooking pasta or doing
30:12
a puzzle or getting all your friends
30:14
and painting little canvases
30:16
that you bought from the Dollar
30:17
Store for one dollar. Like,
30:19
I swear you will surprise
30:21
yourself once you just start doing
30:23
things that you haven't in
30:25
a while. you are never too old to
30:27
go sledding or to bargaining. That
30:30
is always a time.
30:32
You can go to an outdoor rank and
30:34
go skating. You can go snowboarding or
30:37
skiing. There are so many ways to
30:39
get your movement in out side
30:41
during the winter that you wouldn't typically think
30:43
of as a workout. But if
30:45
you go sledding with all your friends and you have
30:47
to walk up the hill each time,
30:50
that is
30:50
a workout, and you're having fun
30:53
outside with your friends getting fresh
30:55
air. I also always
30:57
just Google things to do
30:59
in whatever
30:59
city you're in. So Google things to do in
31:02
Vancouver this weekend. And it's usually a
31:04
pretty good chance that somebody is
31:06
running a blog and is honestly telling you
31:08
every single thing that there is to do in
31:10
your city that weekend. And most
31:12
of the time, you can also just
31:14
add free things to do in Vancouver this weekend,
31:16
and you will be presented with
31:18
a list of free things to do in your
31:20
city. Winter photoshoots are always
31:22
fun outside if you're into that.
31:25
Google the Pinterest, winter,
31:27
snow aesthetic, and get into
31:29
it. You can do a games night.
31:31
My friends and I have been loving
31:33
doing switch nights of playing
31:35
Mario Kart or Mario Party, but
31:37
we always get a little too competitive and
31:39
a little too into it and we just laugh
31:41
so hard. Chest gets so
31:44
into it and she just turns
31:46
into a scary different person.
31:49
Nobody will win Mario party
31:51
against us. My friends also
31:53
do Sunday Thai food together, where we
31:55
just bring a bunch of Thai food, green
31:57
onion cakes, spring rolls,
32:00
soup and just sit at the kitchen
32:02
table and talk for hours. I feel
32:05
like you just need to make a plan
32:07
and just get out there and
32:09
because I got it. I'll also be laying
32:11
a bed. It's winter or you're not motivated
32:13
to leave your house. But then once you
32:15
realize, like, oh my goodness. Why don't I just
32:17
make a plan? There are actually so
32:19
many things to do. Once you get ready and get
32:21
out there, you totally are happy that you
32:24
did it. You can go drive and look
32:26
at Christmas lights. You can
32:28
make a Christmas ornament and date it
32:30
with the year. Make an ornament of
32:32
something that symbolizes this
32:34
year for you, maybe something that was really
32:36
special to you from this year, or even
32:38
a picture frame, I always have fun
32:40
doing that. You can mail Christmas cards
32:42
to your loved ones if you have any
32:44
long distance friends or family
32:47
members. I love getting mail, and I
32:49
feel like this is something that has been
32:51
forgotten about, especially for people
32:53
our age. But how much fun is it
32:55
to go get males? So
32:57
you can mail out Christmas cards, you can handwrite
32:59
them, make them cute, you can
33:01
do a friend's a mess sleepover and
33:03
ugly Christmas PJs. You can have a
33:05
night where you scrap book this
33:08
year of twenty twenty. Did I
33:10
just say
33:10
twenty twenty? Oh
33:12
my goodness. Scrap book
33:14
twenty twenty two and print out all the memories that
33:16
you had this year and
33:18
write down some very special things next to
33:20
all the pictures so you have that
33:22
forever and never forget
33:24
your core memories from this year. And
33:27
also, like I mentioned, I just feel like there
33:29
are so many fun ways that so many fun
33:31
activities to do inside
33:33
because I know you're just so used to.
33:36
Like when you first get into winter, you're
33:38
so used to just being able to
33:40
go outside and have fun in
33:42
the summer. that you can almost forget that there actually
33:44
are so many ways to have fun
33:46
inside. You just have to be creative
33:48
and looking for them because
33:50
obviously it's the same
33:52
with movement. You know, you're used to
33:54
working out. If you were used to
33:56
working outside during the summer and now
33:58
you're not as motivated because you have
33:59
to do things that inside, you just have
34:02
to pivot and switch
34:04
with the seasons. And then lastly,
34:06
like I talked about in part one of this episode,
34:09
I just really like to get into the night routine
34:11
during the winter, and you just
34:13
indulge in self care and make
34:15
it last the full evening.
34:17
Friday night's in hybridation season.
34:20
It is peaking. It is a
34:22
vibe. So just get into it. All of these
34:24
ideas that I've given you are totally fun to
34:26
do on your own or with friends. I love
34:29
I don't know. Just try it out. Even if you thought some of them were silly,
34:31
just try them out, painting, cooking,
34:33
puzzles, games night. There's
34:35
actually a lot fun things to
34:37
do in the winter that I feel
34:39
like sadly most of the time we just forget
34:41
about because of social media and
34:44
and they're
34:44
not at top of your mind of things to do anymore totally
34:46
guilty of that too. That's why I also,
34:48
like, had to go back and check of what
34:50
I do in the winter that makes me happy.
34:54
But I think bottom line is anything that allows you to be creative
34:56
or get off your phone and
34:59
spend quality time with
35:01
the people you love is
35:03
great and you don't need to do a lot. If you're with
35:05
the right people, anything will be
35:07
fun and just spending time with your loved
35:09
ones is always
35:12
something to get excited for and be grateful for. I also just
35:15
did a bucket list in the Hot Girl
35:17
fall checklist episode, which was only
35:19
a couple by So if you're
35:22
looking for some more ideas, those
35:24
ones were a little more fall centered,
35:26
but there's still some good ideas of dates
35:28
to take yourself on alone.
35:30
If you're still looking for some more ideas. So that is it for
35:32
the bucket list ideas, but I'll
35:34
also work on compiling all
35:36
of these and writing them
35:38
down into an Instagram
35:40
post for the wellness cafe
35:42
Instagram so that you're able to
35:44
have that and go reference it whenever you need a new idea
35:46
of something to do. And the
35:48
last thing that you
35:50
requested was gift ideas and wish
35:52
list ideas.
35:54
So my thing for gifts is I
35:56
really like to make my
35:59
gifts personal and honestly
36:02
anytime someone is around
36:04
me and brings up something
36:06
that they need or something that they
36:08
want that brings a
36:10
little belt in my head and I write my my
36:12
phone so that I'm able to have it for
36:14
reference next time it comes to
36:16
getting a gift for that
36:18
person. For boyfriends,
36:20
Brody and I always go very
36:22
crazy for Christmas. And
36:24
I have got him so
36:28
many gifts a lot of the time, I really like to get
36:30
him very unique
36:32
clothing pieces or like trendy
36:34
men's clothing pieces that
36:37
I've scene online because, well, he sees them all
36:40
now, but when we first started dating, you
36:42
know. I had to change up his
36:44
wardrobe a
36:46
little and expand it into some more
36:48
trendier things. So some things that
36:50
Brody has really liked that I got him for
36:52
Christmas or
36:54
just gifts anytime. Anything aloe for
36:56
boys is amazing. The pieces
36:58
definitely are a little more expensive,
37:01
but I know they've been having a lot of
37:03
sales. And aloe clothing is great
37:05
because it's comfortable and boys
37:07
that always like to be dressed in
37:09
comfy clothes. That's just how they go. But I like
37:11
that aloe made their athleisure
37:14
a little more street style, so
37:16
you can still wear it out
37:20
everywhere. I feel like sometimes with
37:22
Lulu, they're joggers or sweatpants or
37:24
pants and stuff like that. If it's
37:26
not, I know now
37:26
they have the
37:27
line that is that can be
37:30
worn everywhere,
37:30
but I feel like their comforier pieces aren't as nice
37:32
and wearable and stylish. if
37:36
that makes sense. So Brody has loved everything from
37:39
aloe last year. No. Two years
37:41
oh my goodness. I think it was two years ago now.
37:43
I got him a from
37:46
TNA. Girls, if your boyfriend doesn't
37:48
have a super puff, here's your sign
37:50
to get them one because Brody
37:53
was always like as if no way I am wearing that
37:55
with the TNA logo, I'm not walking
37:58
around in it. So I bought it for
38:00
him
38:01
because I
38:02
knew I
38:03
knew that he would love it and
38:05
what did he do? He was
38:07
obsessed. He loved it. And
38:09
I think he honestly
38:10
a new one that's waterproof for Vancouver. So
38:12
that is another idea. We are getting our
38:15
boyfriends into Aritzia. We also
38:17
got a super puff for
38:19
Brody's best friend last year,
38:22
so I'm just getting all the boys around
38:24
me into little
38:26
Aritzia minion. I feel
38:28
like Lulu underwear is always a
38:30
good bet for boys.
38:32
Or kith, I got
38:34
Brody, a kith beanie, and kith
38:36
underwear. They're just like trendy men's
38:38
fashion brand. There's also
38:41
landscapes. A couple years back,
38:43
I got Brody, a Drew hoodie, shoes
38:45
are always good, going on goats and looking
38:47
at new balances. Brodie always
38:50
loses his to go coffee mug, so
38:52
I got him one from espresso. So I feel
38:54
like you just have to really think about what they
38:56
need if it's a new wallet, if
38:58
your boyfriend is into candles and
39:01
has his own space. Mallin and goats
39:04
candles are great for boys. But yeah,
39:06
most of the times like the coffee cup thing. I just
39:08
like to think of things that they
39:10
need, and I feel like so easy with
39:12
boys because Brody, like, lost
39:14
his coffee mug and I swear he was just
39:16
taking our at home
39:18
mugs into car because he
39:20
was never going to buy himself a new coffee
39:22
mug. All boys are the same.
39:24
Look for those little weird things that
39:26
they won't buy for themselves, you
39:28
know. And I also like to do that.
39:30
Well, I do that with all my presents. So
39:32
for my parents, one year we were going
39:34
to Hawaii, so I got them both
39:36
matching yetis. to take on
39:38
the trip so that they always had cold
39:40
drinks by the pool and beach and
39:42
stuff like that, so that was a hit. If
39:44
you're looking for presents that don't require spending any
39:46
money. You can make little
39:48
voucher cards and wrap them up
39:50
nicely and
39:52
It can be a voucher to babysit for
39:54
someone to go on a date. If it's your
39:56
parents like a voucher to clean the
39:59
house, a voucher for any
40:01
of those things that they would like or
40:04
quality time vouchers, movie night
40:06
vouchers, you know? Anything like that.
40:08
I always like making a
40:10
gift basket I always like to
40:12
put a lot of energy into the
40:14
presentation of gifts, you know. Because I really do
40:16
think it's the thought that
40:18
counts. So you can always get a basket
40:20
and just fill it with a bunch of little things that the
40:22
people that you're giving it to love, it can be their
40:24
favorite candy. It can be full of cheap
40:26
things. But
40:28
if it's thoughtful and you've been thinking about what they
40:30
really love. Even if it's their favorite
40:32
gum, if it's their favorite chocolate bar, their
40:34
favorite drink. You know, put into
40:36
a gift basket, write a cute note,
40:38
wrap it very nicely. You can
40:40
do movie tickets, workout classes,
40:43
a gym subscription. I always like to give
40:46
experiences if it's the
40:48
person that doesn't need anything and it's
40:50
hard because they have everything they want.
40:52
an experience or something to do or a date voucher
40:55
is always a great idea if you
40:57
need present ideas or wish
40:59
list ideas of for
41:01
new homeowners or your new
41:04
apartment. This thing is a little pricier
41:06
but a
41:08
Dyson vacuum. Honestly, I don't have my Dyson here and
41:10
it is just the one thing that
41:12
really makes me feel like my space
41:14
is clean and spotless
41:17
and it just makes me feel so good that I really
41:19
do think it's worth the money especially after having it for
41:22
I think I've had my Dyson for about five
41:24
years now
41:26
and I do not regret it. I have definitely got my money's worth out
41:28
of it. I would highly
41:30
recommend. Also, you know the
41:32
sage cleaning spray. It is
41:34
the vibe
41:36
for cleaning your apartment and getting that clear space,
41:38
clear mind vibe, sage,
41:40
cleaning spray.
41:41
Candles
41:43
are always good, a good
41:45
knife set, a coffee
41:48
machine,
41:48
silicone Amazon straws,
41:50
an electric candle lighter. I
41:52
just got one of these for myself.
41:54
and it has changed the way I like candles. I
41:56
think I'm going to make wish lists and
41:58
I'm going to link them in the description and
42:00
I will also be posting them
42:04
on I'll post them on personal
42:06
Instagram at trinity tondelere.
42:08
So you can go
42:12
reference those And if I remember, I will also go back and put them in the
42:14
description of the show notes. So if
42:16
you're listening to this real time, they won't be
42:18
in it yet. but I definitely have
42:20
those done by the end of the week.
42:22
Okay. And lastly, you all
42:24
requested some Christmas wish
42:28
list ideas for yourself to
42:29
ask for. And I think that is a great opportunity
42:31
if you're someone that's into
42:33
wellness to ask for those
42:35
things
42:35
that will elevate your
42:38
routine and those things that will get you
42:40
excited and motivated to get
42:42
into the habits you've been trying to create
42:44
for yourself. So this
42:46
can be a new water
42:48
bottle. This can be a
42:50
wellness journal. The five minute journal is
42:52
a great starter to get into
42:54
a gratitude practice, new pens to go with it,
42:56
there is nothing like new workout
42:58
clothing to get inspired to
43:02
go to the gym and just get really into it
43:04
because obviously you're going to be more
43:06
excited to put on your new outfit that makes you
43:08
feel good and makes you feel
43:10
confident that gets you excited to go.
43:12
So I always love that
43:14
new workout socks. I
43:16
used the Lulu ones. They are amazing and
43:19
It's just like the finishing touch to slip on
43:21
and get excited to go for the gym. You can
43:23
ask for a yoga mat to be able to
43:25
do at home workout goats. You
43:27
can ask weights to able to at homework outs. I've been obsessed
43:29
with the summer Fridays
43:31
lip balm lately
43:34
oh my goodness. MJ hair clips,
43:35
they are a go to. This is
43:38
like the Trinity Tondelere Starter
43:40
Pack Christmas
43:42
wish list. TNA
43:44
Biker shorts, the butter ones, or
43:46
beyond yoga. That is all I can
43:48
think of for right now, but like I said, I'm
43:50
going to list all these things and I'll be
43:52
posting them soon on all my
43:54
socials. And I think I'm going to wrap up
43:56
today's episode here, but I hope you
43:58
enjoyed it. If you try any of the
43:59
bucket list ideas, let me
44:02
know, tag me in the vibe so I
44:04
can see it going down. I always love to
44:06
see it. You all have been taking me
44:08
in the candle
44:10
at Pilates after last week's episode end. Nothing
44:12
makes me happier. Every single one of you
44:14
are just vibing, working on
44:16
yourself, and we're all doing
44:18
it together. Oh, I forgot to remind
44:20
you that if you want to write in for December's community episode,
44:22
that will be linked in the show notes.
44:26
The advice column Google form is also linked in the show notes
44:28
now if there's anything specific that
44:30
you need my help on because
44:32
a lot of the times I
44:35
will get DMs asking for advice. And I'm sorry, I just
44:37
don't have time to go through them
44:39
all. I try. And if I didn't get to
44:41
you, just know that
44:44
you know, it's not purposeful. I'm trying to get to you.
44:46
So if there's something you've been trying
44:48
to ask me, you can go put it and
44:51
write it in to the Ask Trin advice session column. I will
44:53
be doing another one of those episodes
44:56
soon, and I think that is
44:58
it for
45:00
this I hope you have a great week as always. I
45:02
love you and I will see you next

time. Download the DraftKings
