An interesting opening, with background on Rowling's life prior and during the writing of the early Harry Potter books. I'm mostly interested in the future episodes, but it was a good setting of the stage. It really captured at times the magic and love I felt as a child for Harry Potter.
Megan Phelps-Roper is the perfect person to host this podcast. She is charismatic and an excellent host, and her personal history with culture wars adds intrigue.This first episode covers Rowling's story before the first Harry Potter book was published. I think it's important to understand her trauma, as it no doubt influences her worldview now.
