2:26

And that is the end of the announcements.

2:28

So today's episode is A

2:30

Theories Thursday. Now

2:32

if you've never been a part of A Theories Thursday,

2:36

then Dan's going to explain it to you real quick.

2:38

So on A Theories Thursday, Aaron

2:40

and I, we both select our

2:42

own personal theory Thursday topic.

2:45

It could be paranormal,

2:47

extraterrestrial, anything.

2:50

But we don't tell each other what it is until

2:52

we start recording. So pretty much it is

2:54

a surprise to us, just as much as it is to you.

2:57

The hardest part of this all is always

2:59

determining who goes first.

3:01

And for that, we have our 20 sided dice.

3:04

And let's see, are you going odds or

3:06

evens this week, Dan? I'm going odds.

3:09

Okay, I got evens. So first,

3:11

three. Okay. Because that's three out of five. All

3:13

right. Two. Oh,

3:16

one for me. 11, one, one. Five.

3:20

Two, one. Oh, God. Two,

3:23

two. Two, two. Oh, tie breaker. The

3:25

next role determines the fate of

3:27

the universe.

3:29

Does that even count? That counts. Well, then that's at 18. So

3:32

you're first. Damn, that doesn't count. That doesn't count.

3:36

All right. So I guess

3:38

I start off this week's theories Thursday then. So

3:41

what do you got for us? So my theories

3:43

Thursday topic this week is

3:45

about an individual named Larry

3:47

Hilleb. Hilleb. Okay. And

3:50

I know what some of you might be wondering. Who

3:52

the hell is this Larry guy? Well,

3:56

he was an American businessman and

3:58

co-founder of the ship. company

4:01

DHL Worldwide

4:03

Express. That yellow truck

4:05

with the DHL, the red in it? Yep,

4:08

the shipping company. Shitty shipping

4:10

company. Yeah, it seems to be what everybody

4:12

believes is that they lose packages.

4:15

But that's not what my topic's over today.

4:17

My topic's about the individual Larry.

4:22

He created DHL back

4:25

in the 60s and during

4:27

this time he was studying law

4:30

at the University of California and he

4:32

needed a little extra money. Now this was before

4:34

he started it. He ended up accepting a

4:36

job as a courier for an

4:38

insurance company and began

4:40

running packages between Oakland International

4:43

Airport and LA International

4:45

Airport. Now after Larry graduated,

4:48

he met two other guys, Adrian

4:51

Dalcy and Robert Lynn. Now

4:53

together they came up with an idea of

4:56

expanding the concept of faster

4:58

delivery to other businesses.

5:01

So in 1969, the

5:03

three of them combined their last

5:06

names, Dalcy, Hillblum,

5:08

and Lynn,

5:09

and created DHL,

5:12

International Delivery Company. Now

5:15

in the 1970s, the only

5:17

real competitors that they had were

5:19

UPS and FedEx.

5:22

Due to this, the domestic and

5:24

international shipping markets were extremely

5:27

profitable and over the years,

5:29

DHL became one of the global leaders

5:32

in the logistics industry. The

5:35

company now has upwards of over 380,000 total

5:37

employees earning billions of dollars every

5:43

year, turning the original

5:46

three owners of the company into

5:48

extremely wealthy individuals.

5:51

I'm talking almost billionaires,

5:54

each of them. Alright, so

5:56

that's pretty much how DHL was created

5:59

by Larry. Larry and his two friends. Now

6:02

we're going to shift our focus more on Larry. And

6:06

like I previously stated, DHL

6:09

experienced huge growth in

6:11

the 70s and 80s. During

6:14

this period, Larry became

6:17

extremely wealthy. In

6:20

the 1980s, he decided to move to Saipan,

6:24

which is one of the largest islands of the North Mariana

6:26

Islands. It was around

6:29

this time that Larry also

6:31

started several business and

6:33

development projects in Hawaii,

6:36

Vietnam, and the Philippines.

6:39

He would spend majority of his time

6:41

in and around Southeast

6:44

Asia. And I know what a lot

6:46

of you may be wondering. Why the hell are

6:48

we talking about a shipping company and why the hell

6:50

are we talking about its creator? It

6:54

gets very very dark, okay?

6:57

So just hang with me here, alright? So

7:00

there's something else that you should know about Larry.

7:02

Is that he was an aircraft enthusiast

7:05

and he owned a number of vintage

7:07

planes. Also

7:10

in 1993, while flying

7:12

one of his vintage planes near Saipan, he

7:15

ended up crashing. Now

7:17

he did survive that crash, but

7:19

he needed facial reconstructive surgery.

7:22

Now you'd think after that incident,

7:24

he would be more careful.

7:26

That's not the case.

7:28

Because less than two years later, on

7:30

May 21st, 1995, Larry was flying one of his vintage planes

7:36

to Saipan when suddenly

7:38

he crashed into the sea. There

7:41

was a large search effort for him. And

7:44

the only thing that was recovered

7:46

was a quarter of his plane.

7:48

Larry's body was never found.

7:51

So upon the announcement

7:53

of his death, because everybody's like, oh we can't find his

7:56

body, he's dead. Larry died, DHL

7:58

was all upset.

8:00

You had a bunch of businesses and individuals

8:02

who owned businesses and even like

8:04

the political community They were all upset

8:07

and they expressed their sympathies and were like, oh

8:09

so sorry about this businessman Larry dying

8:11

blah blah blah blah and

8:13

There were a lot of people at this time

8:15

that were also curious as to who would receive

8:18

his estate Because Larry

8:21

was valued at more than 600 million

8:23

dollars when he ended up dying Eventually,

8:27

it was stated that in Larry's will

8:29

that he did not have any children

8:31

and that the University of California Would

8:34

receive all of his money

8:36

However, this is where things

8:39

start to take a very very dark

8:42

turn So almost

8:44

immediately after his death women

8:47

started to come forward from several

8:50

Southeast Asian countries and Claimed

8:54

that he had fathered children with

8:56

them

8:56

and many of them were underage

9:00

Like I'm talking 12 to 16

9:03

years old

9:04

whenever they had been raped by him

9:07

now due to these claims a

9:09

team of investigators were dispatched

9:12

to compare the DNA of

9:15

all of the children that were suing

9:17

for for a claim on Larry's estate

9:20

The investigators claimed that since the girls

9:22

were located in different countries If

9:25

the children shared the same DNA markers,

9:28

then you know, they almost certainly

9:30

would have the same father

9:32

Which that would make sense But still

9:34

you'd

9:34

have to prove that Larry was

9:36

the father so you would need to obtain Larry's

9:39

DNA true and When

9:42

someone passes away and this happens

9:44

the investigators will usually take DNA

9:46

from the body that had passed away But

9:49

in this case there was no body

9:52

So they couldn't get it that way So

9:54

the investigators decided to go to his home

9:56

in Saipan and recover DNA

9:58

from his home, you know

9:59

because I mean, you leave DNA around

10:02

everywhere. Like hairbrush, stuff like

10:04

that. Hairbrush, toothbrush, all that, right?

10:07

Well, when the investigators got there to his home,

10:10

they noticed that his house had been wiped

10:12

clean of any traces of his DNA.

10:15

The sinks in his home had

10:17

been scrubbed with acid.

10:20

His toothbrush, combs,

10:22

hairbrushes, and clothes, all

10:24

of it, were buried in

10:26

the backyard by a backhoe, which

10:29

made it impossible to retrieve DNA from

10:31

it. Damn. Yeah, so

10:33

the investigators were like, well, where the hell can

10:35

we get DNA from Larry? You

10:37

know, we don't have any. They ended

10:40

up learning that Larry had surgery

10:43

at UCSF Medical Center

10:45

years prior. He ended up getting a

10:47

facial mole removed,

10:50

and they learned that the medical center

10:52

had kept the mole in storage.

10:55

I don't know if that

10:58

is common. I don't even know what

11:00

to say to that. Sir, would you like us to

11:02

get rid of this mole, or do you want to keep it? You

11:04

can keep it. So the

11:07

investigators, you know, they tried to

11:09

obtain this mole for genetic testing.

11:12

However, UCSF

11:14

didn't want to give it up. And if you remember,

11:16

this UCSF, they

11:19

were supposed to get Larry's entire

11:22

estate. Oh. Yeah.

11:24

So they didn't want to give up the mole, but eventually

11:27

they did. The investigators

11:29

tested it, and it turns out

11:32

that UCSF

11:33

gave the investigators some

11:35

random mole. It didn't

11:37

even belong to Larry with somebody

11:40

else's mole. How many moles

11:42

do they have in storage? They got a mole storage. Quick,

11:45

go get someone else's mole so we can get the 600 million.

11:49

Get our backup mole. So

11:52

at this point in the investigation, a

11:54

lot of the investigators turned to

11:57

Larry's family,

11:58

and they requested that his mole.

11:59

The mother, brother, and his half-brother

12:02

submit their DNA

12:04

to determine the paternity of

12:07

the children. But they all refused.

12:09

They said, nope, you ain't getting our DNA. Ultimately,

12:13

a judge that was overseeing

12:15

the case ordered Larry's

12:17

brother and mother to submit

12:20

to genetic testing, in

12:22

which they did. The test ended

12:25

up confirming that four children

12:28

were in fact Larry's. This

12:30

ended up opening up an entire

12:34

scandal and basically

12:37

showed Larry's true colors to

12:39

the entire world because it

12:41

was uncovered that Larry

12:44

had been traveling to different countries

12:47

on quote-unquote business trips

12:50

and he would seek out young virgin

12:53

girls. On one of his trips

12:55

to Palau, Larry had met

12:57

a 16-year-old girl who

13:00

he raped

13:01

and she ended up becoming pregnant with

13:03

his child after he left.

13:06

She ended up naming the child

13:08

Junior Larry.

13:10

On another trip to the Philippines, an

13:13

older woman procured a 14-year-old

13:16

girl for Larry,

13:18

dropped the 14-year-old girl off

13:20

in front of his condo, in

13:22

which after Larry raped

13:25

her, he ended up leaving the country and

13:27

she became pregnant with his child.

13:30

Larry also went to Vietnam

13:32

where he had raped a waitress

13:34

there who was around 15, 14, 15. She

13:38

ended up becoming pregnant with his child after

13:40

he left and then right

13:43

before Larry passed away

13:45

in his wreck, he had a condo

13:48

in Manila. Now in

13:50

his condo, he had a 13-year-old

13:53

girl named Mercedes living

13:56

in there with him. Seven

13:58

months after Larry died,

16:00

a hotel in Vietnam

16:02

and in the lobby is a

16:04

framed photograph of

16:06

himself

16:08

with some girl and I actually

16:10

have that image and I'm gonna

16:12

post it up on our website theories of the

16:14

third kind calm and click on today's

16:16

episode and you can see this photograph but

16:19

I'm gonna insert it right here for you Dan

16:21

on our documents you can see it

16:23

what a weirdo huh that

16:26

photo looks so bad

16:28

for the fact that look at the way he's

16:30

like grabbing her hand exactly it's

16:32

like you're gonna take this photo with me so

16:34

you might as well spot and look what it says American

16:38

billionaire Larry wasn't a billionaire

16:40

self-claimed billionaire then I'm a billionaire

16:43

Larry what a piece of shit he's not even looking at

16:45

the camera he's looking away and he's grabbing that chicks

16:47

hand like huh that's like the worst photograph

16:50

you could have posted up in your

16:52

hotel yeah all

16:54

right so I do have a theory to this

16:56

and it's a pretty short one so there's

16:59

a theory that's floating around that

17:01

Larry's plane did not break down

17:04

in an accident but that it was done

17:07

on purpose he purposely

17:09

wrecked it so this theory is

17:11

that Larry knew about

17:13

all of the legal claims that were

17:16

coming for him

17:17

and that eventually all the stuff

17:19

was gonna get out and people would learn

17:21

about his horrible actions

17:23

so for the past few years before his

17:25

death or before his faking of his death

17:27

he stored money in offshore

17:30

accounts and eventually decided to fake

17:32

his own death

17:33

he did a test run of this in 1993 with that initial

17:35

crash and then

17:36

two

17:39

years later decided to pull the trigger and do

17:41

the real crash he crashed his

17:43

plane and escaped which

17:45

is why his body was never found he

17:48

is now living in some other country

17:51

continuing his horrible

17:53

sexual escapades

17:55

with underage women

17:57

that is the theory

17:59

but Something doesn't add up

18:01

and it's the mansion being

18:03

scrubbed clean of all of his DNA and his

18:06

toothbrush clothes and hair brushes all being

18:09

buried. Would he have done that

18:11

before he escaped? Or

18:13

would his family really have thought oh he did die

18:16

let us go scrub his house

18:18

because we know the dirty secrets

18:20

about him? Hmmm

18:22

like oh the stuff was buried in the backyard by

18:24

a backhoe. Like how do they know to search

18:26

back there?

18:27

I'm guessing there might have been, it had to be recent

18:29

if the dirt was like dug up I guess. Yeah

18:32

when you dig something up there's gotta be there's gonna be that

18:34

fresh dirt.

18:35

Hmmm I would say it had to be after

18:38

he

18:39

passed away. I would say it would be his family

18:41

just for the fact that I don't

18:43

know he would have to go in there. I mean shit his

18:45

family would have done too. Because I would say like you would probably leave

18:48

something unless you're a professional

18:50

at cleaning. Wearing like hair nets

18:52

and all that stuff you may leave something

18:54

else. Yeah true. Do

18:57

you think he faked his own death? Probably.

19:00

Yeah that's where I'm going. I'm thinking he faked his own death.

19:02

I mean he owned a hotel in you said Vietnam

19:05

which he probably is not staying there but

19:07

with the exchange rate with

19:09

US money to the currency over there

19:12

he could live a pretty decent life if that's where he went.

19:15

Yep

19:16

so there you go that's my theories Thursday.

19:18

I learned about this a few

19:20

days ago and I've never heard about

19:23

it before and I thought what a great theories

19:25

Thursday topic to educate everyone

19:28

with. So if you or a loved

19:31

one is using DHL shipping

19:33

company just remember

19:35

Larry was the prior owner of it.

19:38

Okay so that right there

19:40

is my theories Thursday Dan I hope you

19:42

enjoyed it.

19:43

I did and I found some other stuff that's

19:45

kind of interesting to go with it. Ooo let's hear

19:47

it. About Junior Harry Hillblum. So

19:50

he supposedly inherited a hundred million

19:52

dollars from his father's estate.

19:54

He was living in a shack and conducting fishing tours in

19:56

Palau.

19:57

Now as I'm like okay. He's

20:00

not going off spending all that money. He's doing

20:02

something good. Then I scroll down to the

20:06

next photo. And

20:08

it's talking about he was relaxed about his life, but in

20:10

reality, he is unable to leave Palau

20:13

and is facing the possibility of prison over

20:15

drug smuggling charges. Yeah, because

20:18

he's like 30 something now, I think. Yeah,

20:20

he's 32 and

20:21

guess he's been smuggling drugs

20:23

under the cover of fishing tours.

20:25

Hmm, sucks for him. Yeah.

20:29

Oh yeah, there's a lot of photos of him

20:31

with younger girls. Larry

20:34

or his son? Larry. Okay.

20:37

And it's just that, like say his friend

20:39

said that, oh yeah, he slept with over 130. What

20:42

kind of friend are you? Piece of shit.

20:44

Right, he should be charged too. Ooh,

20:47

I was

20:47

about to drop that phone on him.

20:50

Anyway, sorry to get you riled up, Dan.

20:52

I'm sorry for anyone else that it triggered,

20:55

you know, and riled you up. I didn't

20:57

mean that. So good. All

20:59

right, so off of Larry and his

21:01

sex tourism and fricking

21:04

rape, it shouldn't even be sex tourism, should be rape

21:06

tourism, what he was doing. But

21:09

off of that and onto your

21:11

topic, Dan, which down here you have

21:14

crypted.

21:15

Now, before we get into that, we're gonna take a quick

21:17

break and we'll be right back.

21:19

Sports news from the fans

21:22

view, the Rich Eisen Show podcast,

21:24

dealing with the serious. Rob Manford, baseball

21:27

commissioner, why do you think that the pitch

21:29

clock will be one that fans want

21:31

to see the most? I think it's a game, the single

21:34

biggest issue that fans have is

21:37

delays, lack of action in the game. With

21:39

the pitch clock that I'm concerned about as a game

21:42

is going to end on a pitch clock violation.

21:44

And the not so serious. By the

21:46

way, I love the new spots. You know, we were thinking

21:48

of airing some of these spots

21:49

on this program, but my crew

21:52

is pushing back saying we don't have the rights. If you

21:54

need it in writing, we'll get it for you in writing. I heard

21:56

them say, Rich, use whatever you want.

21:59

You want to take advantage of my

22:02

relationship with the commissioner of Major League Baseball?

22:04

How dare you? The Rich Eisen Show

22:06

podcast, wherever you listen.

22:10

All right, welcome back. Which down here

22:12

you have cryptid. Is

22:14

that what your topic is over this week? It

22:17

is. This one kind of intrigued me

22:19

because it actually involved part of

22:21

the CIA. Oh, CIA

22:24

cryptid. Yeah, they had a hand

22:26

with this one.

22:27

So the cryptid I chose this week

22:29

is called the Aswang. I say

22:32

that one more time. Aswang. Aswang?

22:35

Yeah. Okay. You're

22:37

Aswang as that for looking at me like that. All

22:41

right, well tell me what this Aswang is. All right.

22:44

So what caught me off guard

22:46

about this was the fact that the way this thing

22:48

is described, I'm surprised that me and

22:51

you never

22:52

like noticed it

22:53

when we're doing like skinwalkers and the Wendigo

22:55

cryptid or Wendigo is not a cryptid.

22:58

It's more of a witch, but

23:00

how we never really came across it because it's a shape

23:02

shifting creature.

23:04

So I'm just like, how the hell we miss this.

23:06

But the Aswang for

23:08

centuries has been part of the Filipino

23:11

culture,

23:12

a creature that brought fear and mayhem all

23:14

over the Philippines. The first written stories

23:16

are from the 16th century written by

23:19

the Spanish conquerors that came to the Philippines,

23:21

but

23:22

it is believed to have been passed down since

23:24

the 13th century.

23:26

And since then it has been blamed for

23:28

many savage and violent death over the years.

23:31

Now this creature, the Aswang

23:33

also known as the tick tick.

23:36

What? What? I know

23:38

it sounds weird, but it's

23:40

actually really clever. So

23:42

it makes a weird ticking

23:45

noise when it finds its prey

23:47

and it's going to attack. Now you're

23:49

over there looking like, how's this clever? It sounds

23:52

like a predator. Kind

23:54

of, but it's

23:56

very clever when I say this.

23:57

So it makes a ticking noise when it spots its prey.

23:59

It could be animal or

24:02

human.

24:02

The closer it gets to

24:05

its prey,

24:06

the softer the ticking noise becomes.

24:08

It tries to trick you.

24:11

As it's further away, it's loud, but when it gets

24:13

closer, it gets quieter to make

24:15

you think that it's moving away from

24:17

you.

24:18

So you let down your guard,

24:20

and then it attacks. This is like in the

24:22

forest, you could just be walking along and you hear

24:24

a ticking sound? Yeah. Okay.

24:28

Like I said, this creature is known all over the Philippines.

24:30

The Aswang is most often reported being

24:32

on the second largest island of the Philippines, the

24:35

Mindanao.

24:36

Now, even though it is the creature of folklore,

24:38

many people have said that they have seen the Aswang.

24:40

This is, and this is where it gets weird, because

24:43

there is no one true description

24:45

of the Aswang.

24:46

It has multiple forms.

24:49

Now, before I get into forms, this creature

24:52

is of many things they say. It's

24:54

like part vampire, part witch, part

24:56

werebeast,

24:58

because of all these different forms.

25:00

But during the day, this

25:02

is where it kind of sounds like a vampire.

25:05

Eh, more like a werebeast, you could say. During

25:07

the day, you would never know really

25:10

if you were walking alongside one.

25:12

They can disguise themselves as

25:14

humans,

25:15

so they would look like just

25:17

almost any normal being if you're walking

25:19

down the street, not really looking

25:22

for them. They're mostly seen as women

25:24

with long hair, dark hair, but

25:26

their hair always covers their eyes,

25:29

because their eyes are in a bloodshot red,

25:31

so they kind of just try to hide it. And

25:34

some paranormal experts when I was reading up on this, they

25:37

say that if you look into the eyes of the Aswang when

25:39

it's in its human form, and

25:41

if you see your reflection in their eyes but

25:43

your reflection is upside down,

25:45

that's how you know that you're looking into the eyes of an

25:47

Aswang.

25:48

Okay, so they see everything flipped. Correct.

25:51

Now, nighttime is a

25:53

different story. Like I stated, they have multiple

25:55

forms.

25:56

Usually they are described as having an extremely emaciated

25:59

body.

26:00

pretty much real skinny,

26:01

with gray and, I don't know, saggy

26:04

skin kind of, or just weird skin.

26:07

And they have like sores and some boil

26:09

covering their entire body. So it's nasty looking.

26:11

They have milky white eyes,

26:14

and they say that their

26:16

eyes show no emotion and it just makes you

26:18

feel like a chill down your back because

26:20

it's so cold.

26:22

So someone must have seen this up close.

26:24

And of course, some people just say that it kind

26:26

of reminds them of a ghoul. Just

26:28

this scrawny thing, just looking

26:31

for its next meal. Now, when

26:33

I said that they're part vampire,

26:35

they do suck blood,

26:37

but not by

26:39

the normal vampire ways of going

26:42

around and biting people in the neck or shit like

26:44

that. Ooh, how do they suck that blood?

26:46

They have a long ass

26:48

tongue. I

26:51

don't know, it's really long. And it kind

26:53

of like clamps down and one

26:56

their victims and it sucks the blood like

26:58

that. So kind of like a leech? Kind

27:00

of like a leech. Okay. Then

27:03

as I read more, they started talking about what

27:05

it wears. And I'm like, they're

27:07

like, oh, it wears ragged clothes,

27:09

dirty torn clothes. I'm

27:12

like, if they're blending in

27:15

the daytime with humans and all that, they're

27:17

not obviously in ragged clothes. They have clothes.

27:19

So that was kind of like an eh.

27:22

But

27:22

anyways, just like the Wendigo

27:24

though,

27:25

our Patreon episode a few

27:27

weeks back,

27:27

even though they have a weak appearance,

27:29

they are extremely athletic.

27:31

Now, before we get into that, we're gonna take a quick break.

27:33

It's our last one, so don't go nowhere.

27:36

All right, welcome back. They have the ability

27:38

to run at high speeds and to leap to heights around 15

27:40

feet or more in pursuit of

27:42

their frightened prey.

27:44

So they go all super sane when they come after you.

27:46

Now, their other form

27:48

that they can turn into,

27:50

this is where like when they're chasing you down,

27:53

they can turn into a weird beast.

27:55

Most people describe it as a giant dog, but I've

27:57

seen that they said that it could turn into like a giant

27:59

pig.

29:58

and it says

30:01

the Aswongs are vicious Filipino weezin.

30:04

I'm pretty sure

30:06

I said that wrong, but I think it's supposed to mean shamans.

30:10

Hold on. So it shows just

30:12

a regular dude talking on the phone and all of a sudden he

30:14

shapeships into like this weird looking,

30:17

I don't know, like a fricking

30:20

gargoyle bat creature. That

30:22

is their depiction of what an Aswong looks like. Dude,

30:25

that thing is frigging scary. That's like,

30:27

I

30:28

have to say it's like a mix between like a

30:30

bat and actually,

30:33

you know what it looks like. Have you ever played

30:35

the game Mortal Kombat? Yes. You

30:38

know the character Baraka? Yes, I do. He

30:40

looks exactly like Baraka. He kind of does actually,

30:42

yeah. So yeah, he's got some fat

30:45

ass fingers too. Look at how fat his fingers are, goddamn.

30:48

He's got some fat ass fingers. Look at those. Those

30:51

are long nails. I bet he'd be good at arm wrestling. Look how thick his

30:53

hand is. Thick ass hand. Yeah.

30:56

Anyways, that thing's scary. So yeah, that's

30:58

the only thing I could find that really kind of give you

31:00

an idea of what it looks like. Now,

31:04

even though like the heart and the liver is the favorites, it

31:06

would eat a whole person. It

31:09

would leave nothing behind usually. But

31:12

let's say that

31:14

if you got bit or attacked by one

31:16

and you somehow got away, just

31:19

like any werewolf vampire movie

31:21

you see out there, you're

31:22

now infected.

31:24

You become an Aswong? You

31:26

have a very high chance of becoming an

31:28

Aswong. So the infection

31:30

just takes a few seconds to set in.

31:32

The process of mutation from human to Aswong

31:35

is going to happen

31:36

pretty much. There's no avoiding it. Once

31:39

you get bit, the infection starts.

31:41

You're now an Aswong. There's

31:42

no cure for the infection

31:44

once it has gotten into your bloodstream.

31:46

Now, once the infection spreads, the victim

31:48

starts to develop a craving for human flesh

31:50

and blood, then follows violent

31:52

mood swings.

31:54

They are overwhelmed by the built-up rage within

31:56

themselves until they lose their humanity and

31:58

become decanibalistic Aswong.

32:00

I'm an Aswong, I'm an Aswong,

32:03

I'm violent, ugh. I

32:05

crave your blood, bitch. Gimme your

32:07

heart.

32:08

Well that's pretty scary. Yeah,

32:11

but

32:12

now for those who are killed by the Aswong,

32:14

something entirely different happens.

32:16

You are eaten,

32:17

since most of the time they leave nothing

32:20

behind,

32:21

they don't really want to be

32:23

discovered though.

32:24

So it's kinda hard to devour someone

32:27

and then not be discovered, right?

32:29

I guess, I assume so, I don't know, I've never

32:31

done it before. Are you sure? Yeah.

32:34

Alright, just making sure. But this

32:36

is where the witch part comes in. The

32:38

Aswong would take an inanimate object

32:42

and actually create a doppelganger of

32:44

the human victim that they had eaten.

32:47

The doppelganger would then proceed to live for a

32:49

short time and then die to make

32:52

it look like a natural death.

32:54

This way, the Aswong

32:56

would not be detected. They would just think that person

32:58

just died of a natural cause. These

33:01

Aswongs are smart. They are pretty

33:03

smart,

33:04

but they do have weaknesses. Ooh,

33:06

let's hear their weaknesses. This is where I

33:08

kinda go ehh. So just like

33:10

vampires, they're weak against garlic.

33:13

I don't really think vampires are weak against garlic, but sure.

33:16

But the other one is that

33:19

they are weak against a

33:21

tale of a stingray. Damn

33:24

Steve Irwin. But

33:29

yeah, you can either take a stingray, tail,

33:31

and make it into a weapon or hang it in your home somewhere

33:34

and it supposedly wards off Aswongs.

33:36

I fuck up every single stingray that I come across.

33:39

And I say this is for Steve. Start

33:42

stomping. It's for Steve. Hell yeah.

33:44

Now with that being said, considering how deeply the

33:46

Filipinos believe in this creature, this

33:49

is where the CIA comes in. Ooh,

33:51

okay. So we

33:53

have talked about the CIA a lot last week. Yes,

33:56

the marijuana and the drug running. So

33:58

back in the 1950s. There was a military

34:00

man,

34:01

Major General Edward Lansdale,

34:03

who was highly skilled in psychological

34:06

warfare.

34:07

Lansdale rose high during the Second

34:09

World War working with the Office of

34:11

Strategic Services,

34:13

a forerunner for the CIA.

34:15

In 1952,

34:17

the Philippines was in chaos because

34:19

of the uprising of the Hux, which

34:21

was an anti-government rebel group. The

34:24

Hux did their best to try and oust the President

34:26

of the Philippines at the time,

34:27

Elpidio Rivera Cuirino,

34:30

who was actually a friend of Major General Lansdale.

34:33

So Elpidio was having a hard-ass time

34:35

with these rebel Hux, so he reached out to his

34:37

dear friend Lansdale, and he was like, hey man,

34:40

I'm gonna need some help down here to get rid of these damn

34:42

Hux, can you help a brother out?

34:45

Well, Lansdale did not hesitate,

34:47

this

34:48

was something that he was good at,

34:50

so he was glad to help, you know,

34:52

Elpidio,

34:53

and he decided to go a psychological warfare

34:56

route. So he decided to study

34:58

the

34:59

rebel group, that's when he learned about

35:01

the Filipino folklore of the

35:03

Aswang, knowing that they were

35:05

deathly afraid of this creature.

35:08

So in the words of the Major General himself, and

35:10

I quote, To the superstitious,

35:12

the Hux battleground was a haunted place filled

35:15

with ghost and eerie creatures.

35:16

A combat cyborg squad was brought

35:18

in. It planted stories among town

35:21

residents of an Aswang living on the hill

35:23

where the Hux were based. Two

35:25

nights later,

35:26

after giving the stories time to make their way up to

35:28

the hill camp, the cyborg squad

35:31

set up an ambush along the trail used by

35:33

the Hux,

35:34

and it spread fear among the residents

35:36

and the rebel group.

35:38

So that night, that squad snagged

35:40

one of the rebel Hux in the middle of the night

35:42

off of the trail,

35:43

they snapped his neck, and

35:45

with a specially created metal device,

35:47

they left two deep looking

35:49

puncture wounds on the neck of the rebel.

35:52

That's not all.

35:54

They then tied a rope around the man's ankles,

35:56

hung his body from a nearby tree, and

35:58

let the blood drain from his

35:59

body from the puncture marks.

36:02

After several hours had passed,

36:03

the body of the rebel was lowered to the ground and

36:06

left nearby to the Huk camp so that they

36:08

were sure to notice the body.

36:10

And it was noted

36:11

that they did find the body and the side war squad

36:13

got overwhelming positive feedback from

36:16

their tactic. Lansdale stated and

36:18

I quote,

36:19

When the Huk's returned to look for the missing man

36:21

and found their bloodless comrade,

36:24

every member of the patrol believed that the Aswang

36:26

had got him

36:27

and that one of them would be next if they remained on

36:29

that hill.

36:30

When daylight came,

36:32

the whole Huk squadron moved out of the

36:34

vicinity. So the side war

36:36

squad used this tactic over 15 times

36:39

to take over strategic

36:42

areas to drive the Huk rebels out.

36:45

Damn. Yeah, and the Major never

36:47

told anyone of this mission

36:49

down there in the Philippines until

36:52

long after his military time was

36:54

up. But yeah, I

36:56

thought that was a very interesting story to add

36:58

to it. Yeah, makes you think that maybe the

37:00

CIA is doing this with cows for

37:03

cattle mutilation

37:04

or certain other things. Supposedly

37:07

as I was reading on that they have done it

37:09

over in Europe with different things.

37:12

I don't know for certain what it

37:14

was again,

37:15

but it was over in like Italy and stuff like that where

37:17

they did shit like this to

37:19

drive back,

37:21

I guess, army's or whatever.

37:23

Damn. And it's like a corruption at its finest

37:26

central intelligence unit or central

37:28

intelligence agency. Now, I

37:30

do have a couple theories to

37:33

go along with just like the Aswang itself. All

37:35

right, let's hear them. So

37:37

the basic one that we've talked about with cryptids

37:39

that the Aswang was used as a story to

37:41

scare people, especially kids to control

37:43

where they were run off to and how

37:45

late they would stay out. So

37:47

it was the Aswang was pretty much the Filipino

37:50

boogeyman to them. Yeah, okay.

37:52

So that's like the basic

37:54

one. Okay, I can see that.

37:56

The next one, others believe that

37:58

the Aswang was actually used to cover

38:00

up brutal murders

38:02

that fellow man have committed.

38:04

And it's just easier to say that a monster

38:06

would do such a horrid act instead of

38:08

a human.

38:09

Now, there were many incidents where a man

38:11

was hanged

38:13

because he committed acts of cannibalism

38:15

in the Philippines.

38:16

And then another incident where a man killed an old lady

38:19

and tried to kill her husband because he believed her to

38:21

be a witch. Those are just two examples

38:23

I felt. So they believed that

38:26

the Aswang was just something they used to

38:28

cover up brutal murders

38:29

that they just couldn't believe that a person would

38:32

actually commit.

38:33

Now, this next one is

38:36

kind of just like they really couldn't give an explanation,

38:38

so they just blamed it on the Aswang.

38:41

So how I said that the Aswang

38:43

liked to feed on like newborn babies

38:45

and children and then mostly unborn

38:48

babies.

38:49

So they used the Aswang as an explanation

38:51

for like stillbirths and miscarriages in the Philippines.

38:54

Ooh,

38:55

maybe a way for corporations to cover up their

38:58

pollution, right? The pollution causing

39:00

all the stillbirths and all that. So

39:02

they pushed this Aswang to get

39:04

the people to look

39:05

the other way rather than

39:07

looking at their pollution. True.

39:09

Didn't think of that.

39:11

Now, the last one

39:13

is very interesting.

39:15

Ooh, let's hear it.

39:16

So as I look more into the Aswang

39:18

and stumbled across a rare genetic disease

39:21

which primarily affects Filipino men

39:23

called XDP.

39:25

This is X-linked dystona Parkinsonism.

39:29

This can occur in any part of the body and may spread

39:31

to other body parts during the disease.

39:33

It manifests in many ways, including twisting,

39:36

dragging a foot, repeated jaw opening

39:38

and closing, abnormal turning

39:40

or posture of the neck,

39:42

tongue protrusion, mouth

39:44

pursing or excessive eye blinking.

39:47

It is believed that people that suffer from XDP

39:49

are similar to some of the descriptions of

39:51

Aswongs.

39:52

It's believed that the original area of the Aswang

39:55

is to be in the Capiz region,

39:58

which has the highest concentration of the Aswongs.

39:59

of XDP cases,

40:03

which they say it's

40:05

more

40:07

highly in the men, Filipino

40:09

men.

40:09

So I'm like, interesting, then I'm just

40:12

like,

40:12

the only rebuttal I have to that

40:14

is that during the day that they talked about they're

40:16

mostly seen as women with long

40:19

hair and

40:20

all that stuff. But

40:22

it doesn't mean that they're all women. I've never

40:24

heard of this XDP.

40:26

I haven't until looking into this.

40:29

So it's X-Link, Dystonia, Parkinsonism.

40:32

When you search XDP,

40:34

the first thing that pops up, extreme

40:36

diesel power. That's exactly what the first

40:38

thing I found was. I didn't

40:40

even look up the pictures of it. Oh shit,

40:43

the pictures of it. Good

40:45

lord. Yeah, I can see

40:47

how people think that that might be cryptid.

40:51

Most of them look like normal men, but the way their body

40:54

can torques and stuff, that looks like

40:56

it hurts for sure.

40:58

There you go. Check

40:59

out this picture I just linked on the page. I'll

41:02

end up linking it on our website, which was

41:04

a Filipino man basically

41:07

contorting his body because of this XDP.

41:09

Yeah, that's what I

41:11

saw. That sort of looks like the cryptid.

41:14

Yeah. Damn. But yeah, that's

41:17

my theories Thursday. Well thank

41:19

you for that, Dan. Very interesting.

41:22

Do you think that this creature really exists or

41:24

do you think it's this disease? What

41:27

is your opinion about it?

41:28

I don't really think it exists, but

41:31

I believe they use it as a way to scare

41:33

people. And

41:35

then the CIA

41:37

military heard about it and used

41:39

it to its advantage.

41:40

Sadly, they believe it because

41:43

I don't know. It's

41:45

passed down from generations since

41:48

the 13th century.

41:50

So they've always believed in it

41:52

and all that. So I don't know, that's

41:54

taken advantage of their culture and whatnot.

41:57

But I don't really think that it exists. I just think

41:59

that. It's a scare tactic.

42:02

Okay. Well, if you or

42:04

a loved one have witnessed this

42:07

Aswang cryptid and would like to share

42:09

your story with us, you could send us an email

42:11

to Aaron, A-A-R-O-N, or

42:14

Dan, D-A-N, at Theories

42:16

of the Third Kind. And we would love

42:19

to hear your story. And if you've been

42:21

bitten or scratched by one in R and Aswang,

42:24

don't hurt us. Yes. So

42:26

do you have anything else to add to this week's Theories Thursday,

42:29

Dan?

42:30

No, I do not.

42:32

I like both topics. I

42:34

mean, I don't really like the person in your topic, but I

42:36

like that you brought it up and

42:38

it's known. Because honestly, stuff like that

42:41

needs to be known and not many people

42:43

talk about it because your news don't really report on it. They'll

42:45

probably write an article and have it on their website,

42:48

but

42:48

you won't ever see it on TV or anything like that.

42:50

Yep. Kind of like the Jeffrey Epstein

42:52

stuff and all that. Yeah.

42:55

All right. Well, that's the end of our Theories Thursday.

42:58

So now we're going to roll on to our on the scene this

43:01

week. If you're unfamiliar with what our on the scene

43:03

is, Dan's going to explain it to you.

43:05

All right. Our on the scene is where

43:07

we have someone who goes out,

43:10

they can interview family members, themselves

43:12

or strangers,

43:13

and they ask them about current or

43:15

past conspiracies or anything

43:17

that's happened to the news and get their

43:19

opinion on it.

43:21

And they send us a recording that

43:23

is about two minutes long. Make

43:25

sure that there's not a lot of background noise, no

43:27

music playing, because if there's music, we cannot

43:29

play it, cannot use it. That's a copyright

43:31

strike on us. Yes. And we cannot

43:34

get those.

43:34

So anyone can do this, meaning you.

43:36

Yes, you, the person listening to this, just

43:39

like Dan said, make sure you record

43:41

the audio with your phone. Make sure it's less than

43:43

two minutes long.

43:44

And then there's no music

43:46

in the background. And then email us with

43:49

that audio recording and we will put it

43:51

in line to play at the end of our show each

43:53

week.

43:54

All right. So this week's on the scene, we have Scott

43:56

and we're going to play that right now.

44:00

Aaron and Dan, today we're asking people

44:02

what they think's going on in Skinwalker

44:04

Ranch. What do you think goes on in

44:07

Skinwalker Ranch? All sorts of stuff,

44:09

man. It's a vortex. It's a paranormal

44:11

vortex.

44:12

I've just heard that people disappear

44:15

when they get there. Kind of seems

44:18

like I want to stay away from there, bro. That's

44:20

a good question. I have no idea.

44:23

That is a trippy place. I

44:25

don't know. Probably not too much. I don't really believe

44:27

in any of the rumors. I have no idea.

44:30

My friend has a lot of stories about it when he

44:32

went, though. But I mean, I'm going to be honest.

44:34

I'm not sure. I just heard like it's a lot of

44:36

like

44:37

weird sightings and whatnot. So I mean,

44:39

I'm not sure. There's lots of things

44:41

that people say. So it's hard to know. I

44:45

don't know. I definitely think Skinwalkers are real. I've

44:47

heard of Skinwalkers maybe about the ranch.

44:50

I'm not completely sure.

44:53

Thank you so much for your on the scene, Scott.

44:56

I love those. I love when people go out. In

44:58

the public and get the public's opinion on

45:00

a certain topic.

45:02

Yes, I enjoyed that. What do you think is going

45:04

on at Skinwalker Ranch, Dan? Government

45:06

testing. That's what I think is going on.

45:08

I think they opened up a damn portal underground

45:12

and then all the stuff is leaking through to up

45:15

above. Oh, possibly.

45:18

Sort of like what's that show? Has

45:21

that girl called Eleven in it? Stranger

45:23

things. Stranger things. That involves the Montauk chair.

45:26

Yeah, but still, I mean, like how they

45:28

have that portal stuff is leaking

45:30

through. But the

45:32

portal is underneath Skinwalker Ranch

45:35

and that's where they're doing all the testing. That's where

45:37

Montauk relocated to after they got

45:39

busted. Oh, yeah, I like that.

45:41

Anyways, thank you for your on the scene this

45:43

week, Scott. I love it.

45:47

And keep submitting them. And

45:49

also anyone else that wants to submit one, go

45:51

ahead, just record it. Make sure it's less than two

45:53

minutes. Make sure there's no music in the background

45:56

and email it to us and we'll put it in line. Oh,

45:58

all right.

45:59

So do you have any.

45:59
