In 1985 the Philadelphia police bombed a row house containing 13 members of the MOVE organization (including 6 children under the age of 13) after unloading 10,000 rounds of ammunition upon their complex. The MOVE movement was like part Black Panther part 6o's Hippie. The fire from the bomb destroyed the whole neighborhood and incinerated 65 homes leaving hundreds of black families homeless. This isn't the first time the police in Philadelphia burnt down places of Black expression. Join us this week.
