When I was growing up, I thought that meditation was thatyogis and sanyasis did. They all had to leave their home and renounce theirmaterial possessions and go in search for enlightenment. As I grew, I thoughtthe purpose of it is for inner peace. We often get confused with meditationwith these extremes. There could be various reasons that we choose to meditate.The other part is that meditation need not be about closing the eyes andbecoming quiet or focusing on one’s breath. Meditative quality comes with immersioninto whatever we’re doing.
