Beautiful stories of love told by Phoebe Judge who has a voice like chocolate!
Came for Phoebe Judge's soothing voice, stayed for the beautiful touching stories about love of all sorts, even animals.
Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind having Phoebe Judge's job and NEEDING to go to Italy to research stories about people finding love in a place. The Town That Stayed Quiet and The Memory Artist were just fantastic. I am greedy, I wish there were more episodes in a season than six, but I know it's a tremendous effort to create something beautiful like these stories. Plus, you gotta go to Italy sometimes!
It is nice to hear positive for a change. Love, Joy, Miracles like swimming with a baby whale awesome
This is Love is both gentle and deeply real. It is balm, but does not shy away from the difficulties of life. Phoebe's voice is a sure guide into every wonderful - and I mean full-of-wonder - story of the infinite facets of Love. I'm thrilled every time I see a new episode drop into my feed. Thank you for all the solace and hope.
Discovered this podcast through Criminal. This was such a great addition to my lists. If you are an avid listener to criminal and you just want to switch it up this is certainly worth it. A nice new look at love and what all it can look like. Certainly recommend for all people of all different backgrounds.
Love this podcast because it is for all areas and all people. The hidden gems of love defined.
This is Love -This pod is done by the creators of Criminal and like in that show tries to focus on the bigger picture of the theme. Criminal shows just how much crime can vary and this pod shows how vast and different love can look and be. Its stories are unexpected, and just what you need in 2020. Host Phoebe is just as gracious and calm as in Criminal and it’s nice to hear her present the other side of humanity instead of all the bad we do. I thought it would be overrated and soppy. “Who wants to listen to a bunch of romantic rollercoasters?”, I thought but it’s not that at all. Much like This American Life the stories presented are out of the blue and from all over. Itunes has 6,512 ratings with 5,466 of them being 5-star (that’s 83%) and 839 written reviews. New episodes come out Wednesday (for right now. used to be Thursdays) and they’re usually about 22 minutes long. 33 episodes in the archive with Owltail’s top being Episode 2: Something Large and Wild and Episode 3: Always Tomorrow. My favorites are Episode 27: He Left in a Storm, He’ll Return in a Storm and Episode 20: Roselle and Michael . Script, music and Phoebe are just like Criminal. Random trigger warnings for only a few episodes including vivid descriptions of 9/11. Similar Pods: Phoebe Reads a Mystery, Caught, Alone: A Love Story, The Habitat, Ear Hustle, Criminal, Sandra, Family Ghosts, This American Life, Endless Thread, Terrible Thanks for Asking, Dear Franklin Jones, Modern Love, The Self Love Fix, Relationship Advice, True RomanceMore reviews on insta @themastercast
Love how you dive deep into the complexities of Love
Another fantastic podcast with the wonderful Phoebe Judge. I love This is Love!
Good podcasts about love, from all perspectives.
Love it! Eagerly awasting every new episode and when I need to, I listen to older episodes again and again and again
If you're just looking for little anecdotes about all different types of love in the world then you'll enjoy this. I just couldn't find it super interesting. It had that feel of Ira Glass where there's a human interest story and he thinks it is the deepest most profound commentary of humanity.
You wouldn't have thought the next project from the makers of Criminal (a show about murder, law-breaking, villains and a myriad of unpleasant incidents) would be an exploration of love. Yet This is Love acts as a wonderful compliment to its sibling while standing alone and standing tall as a wonderful series.Host Phoebe Judge delves into the broad spectrum of love: what it is, how it is expressed and why its so important to humans. This is not just romantic love (though there are heartwarming tales of the like). The show teaches that love can be found everywhere - in our hobbies, in our homes, in our pets, in nature, in possessions. While Judge is, as always, soothing to listen to, its the interviewees who are the real stars. There is something so endearing about hearing the passion people have.Favourite episodes include Message in a Bottle; How to Be Alone; Roselle and Michael; The Clearwater Monster; Cheers; On the Way to Dinner (one of the greatest podcast episodes I've ever heard); My Penny and The Visitor.
