About Joe Towne:A passion for creativity, storytelling and disrupting the status quo were instilled in JoeTowne from a young age. Joe’s mother was an artist, his father was a rock & roll DJ,and his stepfather was a videographer. Their early influence, combined with time spentliving in an artist commune, laid the groundwork for a career in the arts. Joe has spentthe past 30 years fulfilling that destiny as an actor, a content creator, and an actingcoach/mentor. Additionally, he worked as a life coach, a feng shui consultant and aproducer.

Born in upstate NY and raised on Long Island, Joe’s professional journey has taken himfrom coast to coast and across the Atlantic. He graduated with a BA in Theater fromThe University of Southern California and interned at 20 th Century Fox. Joe thenpursued a career in the arts and embarked on a highly acclaimed 30-year journey in theUS and abroad as an actor, creator and coach. Along the way he has directed andproduced both on stage and screen, cultivating a cross-training perspective from thedifferent lenses of a production.

Joe’s journey led him to become an acting coach at a Hollywood studio and to studywith a feng shui master…both of which taught him the power of being intentional withour practices.

In recent years, he felt like something was missing.

A huge sports fan, Joe began noticing that athletes at the highest levels were trainingtheir minds in much the same way they were training their crafts and bodies.Researching the science behind this, Joe was determined to implement for actors whathe was finding worked for athletes. In 2018, The Performers Mindset was born tocomplement actors and creatives of all types with proven mindset tools and techniquesto take their work to the next level, while helping relieve stress and burnout.Joe’s mindset coaching touches all parts of people’s lives, including daily habits andphysical and mental health to career goals. Life’s challenges spurred importantconversations with his clients about acknowledging what they do well and also how theycan be and do better.

Ultimately, Joe recognized the importance of sharing these conversations with theworld, and in 2021 The Better Podcast was born.
