Welcome, y’all! Today’s episode is a talk with Sharina Harris. She’s the author of the newly released novel Judge’s Girls. She has one previous novel titled Imperfectly Happy. She’s an African American woman living and writing in Atlanta Georgia. Sharina and I discuss blended families, which is part of the story in her new book, what it’s like to grow up as a Black woman in the South. We talk about grief and raising Black children and the power of a Black story. She also gives us a peek into some editorial changes she had to make to the story, which were fun to hear. And she lets us know what’s up next for her. Ok. so, we had some tech issues with this interview. I’m sure ya’ll have your own experiences right now trying to work from home and have other family members using your internet and maybe even having to work in your closet like I was during this call. So, I apologize for the recording issues. I know they’re annoying. Try to stick with me, though, because I’d hate for you to miss out on this talk!
