Somebody, a bit of a boast coming in from one of

0:17

our listeners on the last night, and walked the 26-mile marathon

0:19

at the age of 66. No

0:21

bother to me, and I have the medal to prove it from 2016.

0:25

Now, on to the weather.

0:27

It looks like good news for people who are in need of some

0:29

dry weather this week, and this evening

0:31

there's also a chance to see the Northern Lights, and to

0:33

tell us more about this, I'm joined now by Alan O'Reilly

0:35

from Carlo Weather. Good morning, Alan. Good

0:38

morning, Colin. The forecast for the

0:40

week ahead, dryer. So, I mean, we've heard

0:42

how wet the months have been up till

0:44

now. Good for farmers? Yes,

0:48

they've had a good spell. It has

0:50

helped improve ground conditions a lot. There's

0:52

been a lot of crops, so thankfully,

0:54

a lot of animals out, and

0:57

even some silage being cut at the moment

0:59

in the last day or two. So,

1:02

certainly an improvement situation after a very,

1:04

very difficult situation. All right. And what's

1:06

the weather looking like into next week?

1:09

It was due to be good up to the weekend,

1:11

but has that been extended? No,

1:14

not really, I'm afraid. So, it does look like

1:17

you want to make the most of the sunshine

1:19

today and tomorrow, and

1:21

into Sunday as well, because low

1:23

pressure system returned some

1:25

heavy showers even by Sunday

1:27

afternoon, possibly tundry, and

1:29

then very unsettled for Monday, Tuesday,

1:32

maybe Wednesday. It does look

1:34

a little bit uncertain how long that low

1:36

pressure will hang around next week. So,

1:38

you know, it could stay maybe into Thursday,

1:41

but I'm hopeful that things will start to

1:43

pick up again towards the end of next week. And

1:45

tell us about the Northern Lights, because it's not, I mean, the

1:47

weather is nice, it is dry, but it's

1:50

quite cloudy. Is that going to affect the ability to

1:52

see the Northern Lights? Well,

1:54

there's a lot of clear spells tonight,

1:56

especially. Some areas tomorrow

1:59

night, especially. Lastly, the East Am

2:01

split. The solar activity has been

2:03

a very very high level am

2:05

not seen in many years. The

2:07

number of Solar F players Comments

2:09

offered: Sunspots: Very active sunspot activity

2:12

on the song which creates these

2:14

M C I mean that some

2:16

of them come towards Arts and

2:18

the ones that do then can

2:20

create Northern Lights. It's a lot

2:22

of different variables but it's been

2:24

very intense so there was a

2:26

good chance of seen some Norden.

2:29

My activity. Tonight and tomorrow night

2:31

especially am especially if you do manage to

2:33

stay on of those two years guys you

2:35

don't have fog. Chris Hogg could ruin it

2:38

for a few areas posts am it is

2:40

little bit later obviously sunset as later and

2:42

some raise their years of the window is

2:44

shorter put still. given the intensity of the

2:47

yeah the solar activity it could be very

2:49

good chance seeds northern Lights over added to

2:51

write Better Chance seeing it out the country

2:53

and from potentially high ground is it than

2:56

the further north in the country go the

2:58

better. Yeah away from

3:00

lights and you need to let your eyes

3:02

adjust or use your phone camera let it

3:04

get get really set stables of if you

3:06

have a tripod us the best way to

3:08

do with profitably get some to let it

3:10

get into long exposure more because very often

3:13

over and you won't see it with the

3:15

naked eye but you will be able to

3:17

take photographs over which your smartphone another seat

3:19

afford not to bear to chance and if

3:21

you are in an area as fog and

3:23

yeah getting up the mountain this is your

3:25

best chance to be able to get above

3:27

that fog. okay I'm already some kind. Of

3:29

weather. Thanks very much for that. Would be back after this

3:31

with the gathering. Five

3:34

One Five. My. Neighbors

3:36

as he Radio One.
