Jessica Agombar is a 32 year old singer/song writer and actor from Bow, East London. Her career started at the young age of... After attending Bishop Challoner secondary school, Jessica was one of the five members of the girl group Parade, their debut single Louder landed them a number 10 spot in the official UK charts. In 2013 Parade split, leaving Jess to pursue a solo career. Fast forward two years which saw Jess release her debut singles such as Bam Bam and Bam Bam 2. 


Since then, she has found international success as a songwriter co-writing I Love You for Hailee Steinfeld, What’s a Man Gotta Do for Jonas Brothers which charted in many countries hitting number 4 in the UK with over 86 million views on YouTube. Her biggest success to date has been composing Dynamite for K-pop boy group BTS which reached number 1 on the Billboard hot one hundred and internationally knocking off American rapper Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion  with WAPP. It also caused a global sensation on YouTube for the most views in the first four hours hitting 10 million with 565 million views to date. It was the first song in 2020 to sell over a million downloads in America and lastly its the soundtrack to the new Samsung phone advert. 


In this episode we delve deep into Jess’ childhood from her humble beginnings in Bow, buying her first track at the age of 5 and her school life. Jess tells us how she got into the music industry, the great experience of being on the set of the film St. Trinians and how she was flown out to watch the Jonas Brothers perform What’s a Man Gotta Do live at the Grammys in L.A, whilst still working in a bank. 


Her real love is for her family and has never cared about the limelight, she wanted to do something she had a passion for. Throughout all the highs and lows before finally getting her break after 15 years in the game. Jessica Agombar story is a testimony in itself, in this new age we live in she really does have an old fashioned soul.
