Top of Dave. Seriously, dude, you're already in my head. Man.
0:05
I think I'm just gonna get a sign. I'm serious. I think
0:10
I'm gonna get a piece of paper and big gigantic letters with sharpy Wright bef
0:16
Byford from Saxon, because between you and all the listeners to hang out with
0:23
us, they are constantly on my social media. Call it Saxton. Yep,
0:28
I think you remember this little diddy here. Okay, stop it,
0:34
man, bef Byford beff Byford from Saxon will be our guestcha at eleven forty,
0:43
so stick around for that right now. Though he's my buddy, he's
0:47
your buddy, Dave. He's Jeremy Schall with the Bourbon Bourbon buddies, Bourbon
0:51
buddies, and Dave loves Bourbon, and uh it's it's happenstance. We book
1:00
this a while back. But then last night I see Jeremy Schell at the
1:03
horse Soldier Bourbon. First of all, good morning, how you doing Jeremy?
1:06
Somebody I mean happy Friday? Happy? It's like Derby week eve right
1:10
now? So why are we even working? Well? I don't have a
1:14
day off until I think May twenty fourth, there. But let's talk bourbon
1:19
because this Sunday is merby Brby Eve. It's right Brbi Eve and the bourbon.
1:26
Look, if you drink bourbon, if you don't drink bourbon, when
1:29
you come to Kentucky on Derby Week, you do drink bourbon and cocktails.
1:34
Let's talk cocktails for a little bit, because specifically, I would rather eat
1:38
a bowl of lard with a hair in it than drink the mint juli.
1:42
They are some people love them, right, some people enjoy them one week
1:48
or one day out of the year. I personally, anything with mint does
1:52
not work for me. I'm curious about Dave Jennings. Dave Jennings, he
1:56
sleeps in a bed of mint, no non minch, runs, rests at
2:00
ruins, drinks. It's kind of like shrimp. Oh no, I love
2:04
shrimp, but I agree with you on men. Like here's what I hate
2:07
is when Hey, you want a chocolate, I'm like, yeah, sure,
2:09
and they'll hand it to me. It's like a chocolate mint and I'm
2:12
like no, no, no, of course not. But let's talk meant
2:15
julobs because they're not a difficult so they're not really difficult to make. But
2:22
there's all the pain. They're a pain to make. They're muddeling. You
2:24
know, I'm just saying you can do it if you want, but it's
2:29
time consuming. You muddle the men all this other crap. Let's talk pre
2:32
made selections when it comes to ment, Julips, do you have any people
2:37
are having derby parties? Next? Well, let's it's also address you made
2:39
a perfect point about muddling or just complicated cocktails, you know, making.
2:45
You know, we've all been there, we've all had parties. You're making a cocktail for a friend, You're enjoying it, you're shilling off, you're
2:49
flipping bottles, you're dropping back on the floor, you know, but you're
2:52
having fun. Yes, But when all of a sudden all your friends pop
2:55
out from behind the couch and out of the closet and they're like, hey,
2:58
make me one too, and you're like, oh crap, this is more than I want to do. And then all of a sudden you make
3:02
a mess. You're like, oh, my wife's clay kill me if I
3:05
don't clean this right up. Now. They're a pain. So halving the
3:07
pre made cocktails, of the pre made syrups just to add to them can
3:12
be convenient, but they're never nearly as good, which again for the mendulup,
3:16
they're never nearly good period. But some people do enjoy them. But
3:20
there are brands out there. Old Forester makes a decent pre batched It's got
3:24
Old Forester whiskey already in there, it's got the syrup, it's got everything
3:28
done. You just pour it over ice, maybe add a little garnish to
3:30
it. You're good to go. Maker's Mark makes one. Two other brands
3:35
make the syrup that's already the jar. All you do is just add it
3:37
right to your whiskey of choice and you're going to go. But the beauty
3:40
of this is it doesn't matter. Although we love bourbon here, we do
3:45
think bourbon is really the only spirit that you should enjoy. But some people
3:50
do like vodka, some people do like tequila, and there are a lot
3:53
of cocktails like them and julip that you can make with other spirits. Yeah,
3:55
so they are flexible. So those people that might be a little bit
3:59
off their rocker that might enjoy like vodka or tequila, you can make the
4:01
mensule up with those as well. Again, they're still not good, but
4:05
some people do enjoy them. I think Bill Benford is a vodka guy.
4:09
Stop it's but here's a song for you guys. Okay, when will you
4:18
marry me? Bill? When will you marry me? When will you marry
4:23
me? Beffffffff Biff, just just think back to the future. Beff,
4:30
Beff. I'm seriously going to put signs up in the studio saying beff Byford
4:34
from Saxon in here driving me crazy. So yeah, here's about four years
4:42
ago. Two guys, Steve Bowles and uh Brett Weatherby got me smoking and
4:46
cooking, and since then I've been man, it's my passion. But then
4:50
a couple of years ago I expanded that into what about making drinks. I
4:55
started getting into drinks and all this other stuff ex But because I like my
4:58
I drink number one to quila. Then you smoked ice cubes, Yes,
5:02
yes, which will and we'll get to that. Yeah, you're right,
5:04
Dave. But for the for the most part, I drink number one tequila
5:09
on the rocks. I will say that in an old fashion, made with
5:14
number one extra and Jeho is beautiful. But I want to talk for a
5:17
second, because I started experimenting with that and some of these drinks I've made
5:21
there's muddling, And what I find out is if you muddle too much,
5:25
that's why these pre mixes are so good. If you muddle too much,
5:28
it doesn't just release the flavor of what you're muddling, but it'll release chloroform
5:32
as well. Correct which worried if you're trying to knock somebody out. But
5:36
chloroform chlorophyl, I'm sorry, not chloroform. That's that's that's called the cosbypolitan.
5:45
Uh, chlorophyl. Sorry, So if you muddle too hard, it's
5:50
going to release the chlorophyl. You don't want to bruise the garnis. You
5:56
want to just sort of squeeze so many juices out. But again, these
5:59
are if you're making a till for yourself, for your significant other, or
6:01
for a friend, they're fine, but they can be time consuming and not
6:04
everyone has all the different ingredients to make different cocktails at home. What I
6:10
really enjoy, especially with cocktails, are ones that are versatile and flexible enough,
6:14
especially during derby time when you've got a bunch of people around where you
6:16
can make them. Oh. I like vanka, I like tequila. I
6:19
like bourbon drinks, whether it be the like the gin Ricky great cocktail with
6:24
gin, but you can make it with bourbon as well, just substute doubt
6:27
you can make it with tequila. There's one of my favorites. It's called
6:30
the horse Neck. It's a sense the horse neck, oh neck, neck
6:34
neck. The other one's a different drink, need a big glass, but
6:46
that's one is basically just a high ball with a lemon peel added to it.
6:48
So bourbon certainly high balls, yes, uh or low balls short lists
6:56
how the horse is all right. But one of the most one of the
6:59
most popular drinks out there, or I see them, at least I see
7:02
them a lot, is the Moscow Mule. Yes, and we have a
7:06
wonderful variation here in Kentucky called the Kentucky Mule. It's made with bourbon.
7:11
Oh wow, okay, but I will say that. So we've been working
7:14
late nights with the bxology team here at iHeartMedia. Yeah, with your research
7:17
and development team and the whole R and D team. They've been all at
7:20
that. I think they're in their basement right now. Oh really. Yeah.
7:23
So they've been working on this and we've come up with a new one
7:25
because again, you've got to have that versatile cocktail. Yeah, yeah,
7:29
you take at your cocktails just for Dwight Wooden, for me, for you.
7:32
Oh boy, So this is basically you take your Kentucky mule. Okay,
7:35
so tequila, some of the crushed ice, O, ginger beer,
7:40
the lime juice sounds great, and we're gonna call it the Kentucky Jackass.
7:44
Okay, oh okay, that's the cocktail for Dwight Witten. I'm telling you,
7:47
I started to feel like danger fielding when you're making a mixed drink.
7:53
Is it a waste to put quality bourbon into a mixed drink? Or the
7:58
better whiskey, the better alcohol you put it in, the better cocktail you're
8:01
gonna have, no matter what. Even if it's a pre mix it's it still makes a difference. That The real goal with any cocktails you want to
8:07
be able to taste all the ingredients. You want to be balanced. You don't want to be overwhelming. The one problem I find with a lot of
8:13
people that will do different cocktails and go I'm gonna put a cheap eighty six
8:16
proof whiskey is it doesn't hold up, especially under other ingredients that are in
8:20
the drink. You want to taste everything you want to experience a very balanced
8:24
cocktail, and sometimes you just want to have a little something that's really high
8:28
proof. But usually something right around a hundred proof will always hold up well
8:31
in a cocktail and know better alcohol will certainly taste even better. Always have
8:37
the old Forester signature around Forester product out there. This is reordable and just
8:43
what's the price point of that one? Guys you it's about forty bucks for
8:46
a handle? Okay, wow, Yeah, great product made here locally and
8:50
just underrated. But it's it's for a while there it was hard to find.
8:54
All of a sudden, I think people found out about it and you
8:56
just couldn't see these things anymore. Yeah, but you say, the better, the the better a cocktail. And when we talk about mixed drinks,
9:03
what would you do though, if somebody took a twenty year pappy and they said, you know, why give me a pappy in big red? Wouldn't
9:07
that be a bastardization of a great bourbon? Well? You know, first
9:11
of all, when your friends come over, you always want to share great
9:15
times with great people with great whiskey. Is that why you always give me
9:18
the cheap stff? That's why you get the cheapestuffly hide the Civil War.
9:22
Anytime you come to the house. Nothing but Kentucky Tavern for Dwight. Hey,
9:26
I wis you think Kentucky Tavern from the forties and fifties, it will
9:31
be some of the best whiskey you'll ever drink in your life. You try
9:33
Kentucky Tavern from today. We serve it for Dwight every time it comes over
9:37
you. As a matter of fact, what is the worst well bourbon one
9:41
you don't finish? You know, I don't think there's I think there's something
9:48
out there for everybody. I don't like to bash any product out there,
9:52
you know, again, whether it be your wallet or your palate, drink
9:54
which you like, Drink what you can afford, drink it responsibly and just have a great time with your friends. But to me, that's the only
9:58
way to go about it. But there are some some that are better than
10:01
others. You know, if you go out. You know, for me, when I go out to a restaurant a bar, you obviously, especially
10:07
here in Kentucky, you could find so many quality products on the menu and
10:09
the prices are going to be I have to tell you, folks, this
10:11
week is the worst time to buy any alcohol from a restaurant because everyone's going
10:16
to make their money in the following week, is it? Really? All
10:18
the prices go up, all the tourists here in town, and you know what, kudos to the restaurants. They know people are going to pay to
10:22
try stuff they can't find back home. So this is not the week if
10:26
you're a local to go ahead and try things. But I do enjoy trying
10:30
stuff at some of the local restaurants and bars. Just you know, if you never had it, try it see if you like it before you spend
10:35
an ungodly amount of money for it at a retailer from somebody else. But
10:39
I do think there's so many good products out there that can afford that are
10:43
just overlooked because of this this fomo of people. That you can have these
10:46
great names that are just floating around, like you know, I don't like
10:50
you know, say, like the Wellers and the peppies and the blends,
10:52
and they're all good, but for some of the prices, maybe somebody else
10:56
the whit Wooding's scount can afford it. I'll show you my quest for seed.
11:01
I promise you we can't. Jeremy Shells I guess the Bourbon Show.
11:05
He's our show's bourbon officiato. But I got to ask you this man,
11:09
there's a lot you're you're also a bourbon collector. I've been to your house
11:15
of senior collect I don't know if I like the word collect I just have more than I can drink in ten lifetimes. Okay, yeah, no,
11:20
right, or responsibly drink. But I think it's Blattens right now. They
11:24
have something going on where they have these small globes and a different horse.
11:30
Is it going from start to finish or something like that, or spell something
11:33
out because I was at the down Syndrome Gallup Gala last Friday with the wife
11:37
and that was one of the auction items. It was quite beautiful. But
11:43
I'm not a bourbon guy. Is it difficult to get every one of those
11:46
globes? And if so, what are the globes? Well, the bottles
11:50
are gorgeous. It's kind of around. He got a bottle with a horseman
11:54
top and he's beautiful, different position throughout its pace, around on the race
12:00
sto. Okay, and each one. Of course. Blayton's has been around
12:03
since eighty four and about the mid nineties they were looking for ways to sell
12:07
more whiskey, and so somebody had a genius idea that says, hey,
12:11
if we if we take a different pose of the horse, put a letter
12:16
on it, we spell these out into blatons, then we'll sell more bottles
12:20
because people want to collect these. So it became I like to call it the happy meal of bourbons. You got to collect them all. If you
12:28
collect them all and send them to Buffalo Trace, they will mount them on
12:31
a stave for you instead it back as a nice presentation. Are you serious?
12:33
They will do that, but they are hard to find now, they
12:35
are very difficult to find them all. Did they release them one at a
12:39
time or what was the deal? Typically it's a great thing. If you ever go do a tour at Buffalo Trace and they have the most expensive tour
12:45
in the industry, it's completely free. It's just hard to sign up for
12:48
because they're always booked out months in advance. But when you walk in there,
12:50
literally they've got they're hand done, they're hand wax, they're hand labeled.
12:54
But there's a big bag of just these huge, you know, huge
12:58
bag of all these stoppers and they just each in there, grab one and
13:00
each one's a different letter, and they just put them on. So there's no rhyme or reason to what letter ends up on what bottle, on what
13:05
day of the week that they bottle. It's just you got to go out
13:07
there and find them. Now. I've talked to people that say, hey, take a road trip to middle of nowhere, Ohio and hit liquor stores.
13:13
You'll find things you can't find here. Have you tried that Ohio is
13:16
a great place to find things. That it is a control state, unlike
13:20
here in Kentucky, where we have a sort of an open commerce where people
13:24
can sell things for whatever they want. In Ohio that the state does control
13:28
the distribution and the pricing. So it is the land of Weller. If
13:31
you're looking for a Weller special reserve or Weller antake, Ohio is very good
13:35
about that. Ironically, I've been hearing from people lately that Boston can find
13:39
Blatant's everywhere in Boston, really, which is is ft, but it's landa
13:45
Samuel Adams. They like their beer there, so Blaton's just kind of sits on the shelf. Well Man. I still got some time on my notes
13:50
with some questions I wanted to ask you can you stick around for real in
13:54
the years and maybe just for a little bit of all right, we're talking Bourbon. It's Derby Week next week. Everything bourbon. You find it on
14:01
the Bourbon Show with Jeremy Schelle. Stick around. We're gonna be playing Ruling
14:05
in the years. But first, right now, Shady Rays, Baby,
14:09
I love my Shady Rays. I wore my Lagoon lenses, my Lagoon aviators
14:13
in this morning. I want you to go and look and see how beautiful
14:16
these lenses are, absolutely amazing. But also when you go by the Oxmore
14:22
Center in Shady Rais and say, hey, can I try on the color
14:26
Rush because the color Rush, I wore my color Rush out last night and
14:31
everything is just so bright and vibrant. All the reds, the yellows on
14:35
the street, the yellow lines on the road, they pop. Everything pops
14:39
with these color rushes. And guys, listen to this. If you use
14:43
code whas in store at Shady Rays or online at Shady rays dot com,
14:48
you're gonna get fifty percent off two or more pair of Shady Rays. That's
14:52
why I have so many, because once I buy one, I want to
14:56
buy two because of fifty percent off and on and on and on. You're
14:58
gonna love shady rais. And if you scratch them, break them, if
15:01
they're stolen, if you lose them, they replace them. Shady Rays in
15:05
the Oxmore Center or Shadyrays dot Com. Stick around really in the years and
15:09
then more with Jeremy as we talk Bourbon for Derby Week and Biff Biford is
15:18
up at eleven o'clock. It's on the way News ray Ee forty whas,
15:24
Oh the ZZ Top Treas, Sombres News Radio eight forty whas. Before we
15:30
get to the legend that is Denise PALLAGREENI, I want to tell you,
15:35
folks, finally a place listen to this loved ones, a place that you
15:39
can trust when it comes to maintenance or prevent a maintenance on your vehicle.
15:43
Tony's breaking alignment. It's not just breaks in alignment. They do just about
15:46
anything to just about any type of vehicle. And here's the best part.
15:50
They're family owned and operated. And why is that important? Well, it's
15:54
important because family owned and operated local businesses. They just care more about their
15:58
name, they care more about their product. And that's where you're gonna get
16:02
the second you walk in Tony's Break and Alignment. They are so confident in
16:07
their work, and then they should be. They have the best technicians and
16:11
the best diagnostic diagnostic equipment that money can buy. They don't give you just
16:15
a warranty. They give you, listen to this, a three year,
16:19
thirty six thousand mile warranty on every single job they do. Put your mind
16:25
to rest. Go with Louisville's Best, that's Tony's Break and Alignments. We
16:29
go to Bloomberg's Real In the Year's Best, it's Denise pala Greenei, how
16:33
you doing, Denise? Hey, I'm okay. Nineteen eighty six, that's
16:37
my answer. That's what I'm going. Listen here, I just told Jeremy
16:41
Shell. Damn it, Jeremy show Jeremyschell, the from the Bourbon Shows in
16:48
here with us, and I'll tell them, hey, listen, we're gonna play you really in the years. Stick it in with us. Here's the
16:52
good news. In the past two days, we did the sixties and seventies,
16:56
so I'm guessing we're eighties or nineties, hopefully eighties. But here we
17:00
go, Dave, what decade all of these songs were in the top twenty
17:04
somewhere in the eighties. All right, I like to find stuff that was
17:10
kind of obscure, like you do. Greg Guidry going down. Excuse me,
17:15
you don't want Greg going down? What is? Well, it didn't
17:19
go down on the charts that I guess, not in the top twenty.
17:27
Some people thought he was kind of cute. I have no idea who it
17:30
is, Denise, you know. It was sort of like that Hall and
17:34
Oates, but just one of them. Okay, just Greg, Okay,
17:41
it's probably not helping you guys out much. Probably not helping you out.
17:47
Then there was this the Beatles movie medley, several songs mashed together somewhere in
17:56
the eighties. It's got to be earlier eighties and eighty six, way earlier.
18:07
Not helping anybody. Jeremy's got a lead on it. But let's get
18:11
a few more songs under our belt. Okay. We had Greg Guidry going
18:15
down, cooling, the gang getting down on it early coming out of the
18:19
seventies. Everyone's getting down. So yeah, it's gotta be early eighties.
18:25
Get after some words, Yeah, get down on it. I gotta try
18:32
not to sing because in the podcast there's no music. It's gotta be eighty
18:41
eight. Okay, we're going in the feel good eighties, all right.
18:47
Speaking of numbers, before the number of aids, there's a phone number,
18:53
Jenny, Jenny. This took us up a little bit. I like nineteen
18:59
eighty two for this one. Mm hmmm. I'm gravitating toward eighty two,
19:04
but I'm not sure yet who this is. Coming out of the late seventies.
19:11
You actually can sing with feelings. Thank you, wowy. Just for
19:15
that, I'm gonna call you tonight and give you forty minutes of me singing.
19:18
Don't send her any pictures, I wal all right, Okay, let's
19:22
go two now. But let's he played a doctor on General Hospital, you
19:29
know, Springfield eighty one. Oh my gosh, good advice to the kids.
19:37
You know who wrote I'll Do Anything for You, right, Sammy Hagar.
19:41
That's right baby. Wait, wait, this is a turn of a
19:45
song because this could be eighty two. Still eighty two, eighty three?
19:48
Yeah, I mean he was on the charts from seventy nine, so it's
19:55
his new album is really good? Actually, yeah, it's really good.
20:00
Can you I'm kidding, bonus, clue, I'll tell you what I'll do,
20:04
all right. The song that was number one April the twenty sixth,
20:07
somewhere in the eighties. It's eighty two. It's eighty two. She's no
20:14
Dolly Parton, No, it's nineteen eighty two. Jon jet Ow, Wow,
20:22
I had the biggest crush on her and before her, Christy McNicol.
20:26
That is so cute. Jone Jet and the what was it the black cart
20:30
black card yet? Oh my gosh, I say, I mean, I
20:34
gotta say eighty two, but I like eighty two. I like eighty two.
20:38
Man, let's lock it in, Denise Pyle Greenie, here we go,
20:42
go ahead. It was a great year. Yeah, great, it
20:45
was a great year. MTV was out all these hits in my pre teenage
20:48
year. I have a big memory of all that right now. Just lock
20:52
it in. Nineteen eighty two, Denise and Jeremy, here we go is
20:56
it? Nineteen eighty two? I Love rock and Roll was number one April
21:00
the twenty six nineteen eighty two. We got it. You guys got down
21:07
on it. Wow, we did, all right. So that's it.
21:11
That's the good news as we crushed it today and here with the bad news,
21:15
and the market report is in East Palegrini. Yeah, I'm a one
21:18
hit wonder because I'm off next. And actually it's not that bad today.
21:25
I mean, right now, we've got the Dow up almost two hundred points.
21:29
That's uh, you know, half a percent, man, that's one
21:33
and a half percent gain. Actually, S and P futures they're also higher,
21:37
and Nasdaq futures up one point eight percent, up two hundred and eighty
21:40
three points. A lot of optimism about tech. We had Microsoft and Google
21:45
parent Alphabet. They came out with stronger than expected quarterly results. We also
21:48
had one measure of consumer spending that was out earlier and that was stronger than
21:52
expected as well, and all this sort of ameliorating. You might say that
21:57
bad news we got earlier about in flame, where you know, inflation seemed
22:02
to be as bad or maybe even worse than some people thought, scaring people
22:06
into thinking the FED might be a do nothing fed this year. But we'll
22:08
see. It's Friday, so anyway, it looks like we'll god in the
22:11
green guys, and I hope you have a good weekends. Be bef Byford
22:18
bef Byford from did it again during the break? I know I did it
22:22
during the game break. I said, hey, Dave, don't forget.
22:26
I want Bill Bayford to come into the damn it man. And I'm tired.
22:33
It may be a little bit hungover. Maybe maybe Okay, I'm hungover.
22:37
I'm tired. But we're talking bourbon, and we're talking with the show's
22:42
bourbon officionado, Jeremy Schell from The Bourbon Show. I gotta ask you if
22:49
there's a lot of bourbons that are just showed on the internet. Okay,
22:55
you'll see it on social media sides offering hard to find whiskeys, you know,
22:57
off like Wellers and and it's going to lead us into another question.
23:00
There's always not enough time when we have it on the show. Number one
23:06
is the number one to kil them? Is it? Is it a good
23:10
idea? Number one is illegal to mark up a bourbon and sell it if
23:12
you bought it right. It is illegal for the private sale of alcohol from
23:18
consumer to consumer. So how is uh, you know, the revenuers for
23:23
lack of as Yeah, I hate sound like I'll good Jesse, But seriously,
23:29
how come uh you know, I guess ATF or whatever doesn't go after
23:33
or do they go after people that are selling on the internet. There are
23:36
a lot of people that get caught selling illegally. But there's so much of
23:41
it going on right now. And if you're if you're on all the social media platforms, and if you are interested in any sort of allocated whiskey,
23:48
all it takes is like one search and all of a sudden you'll start having
23:52
ads pop up left and right. Oh yeah, And I always warn people
23:56
right now. First of all, if it sounds too good be true.
24:00
If you can't walk into a store and five find your favorite bourbon, your
24:03
favorite blandans Well or Happy whatever, and find it for retail. Some guy
24:08
hitting you up online with an AD or a DM saying hey, I've got
24:12
this great whiskey for you. Just send me your credit card number, paypalate
24:17
to me, send it to me in bitcoin. You're just parting with your
24:19
money and you'll never see it. So I always advise people. And the
24:23
worst part now is if you know the people over at Liquor Barn, great
24:27
Kentucky only store, they are having a problem lately because there's a lot of
24:32
these hacks that are putting out Facebook pages saying their liquor Barn selling all these
24:37
allocated products are using their name, and so these these scams and that's what
24:41
they are. They're a scam. They're just trying to get your money. I always say, if you don't have a physical location that you can call
24:48
or walk into for that store, best to just save your money and avoid
24:52
it. Okay, the good old days weren't that long ago when I could
24:56
walk into any store and get ego rare for twenty five dollars. Now you
24:59
can't find it. Weller used to be easily accessible until the story started circulating
25:03
that hey, it's baby Pappy, it's Pappy barrels, it's Pappy mash Bill,
25:07
and now you can't find it. Any truth to any of that,
25:11
Well, yeah, you can't find it period. But as far as the
25:14
question, as far as baby Pappy at conception, at birth, there is
25:18
no such thing as a Pappy barrel. No barrel is labeled Pappy van Winkle.
25:23
All of them Weller or Pappy is labeled Weller Bourbon or Weller Brothers.
25:29
On the barrel head. They are all labeled the same way. Depending on
25:33
how they're bottled and how old they get is what they become. We were
25:37
talking earlier. It's the old story of the two orphans, the twins that
25:41
are separated at birth, one goes to a poor family, one goes to
25:45
a wealthy family. They grow up later. The one from the poor family
25:48
gets labeled well twelve. The one from the wealthy family gets labeled lot B.
25:52
Van Winkle. They're both the same thing genetically, DNA wise or identical.
25:56
It's just how much are you willing to spend to buy that model?
26:00
So there is truth that it's very similar to Pappy inside the glass, it's
26:03
identical out tell the glass. They're similar because they're they're still about the same
26:07
place. Wow, you know who started that story? Well, actually Julian
26:11
Van Winkle was one that said Bill Weller, Bill Weller, I'm sorry,
26:15
bis Weller. I want to pause on the bourbon for a second because I
26:22
want to say uh on the side, and I want to say thank you,
26:26
because you know you're the you have the bourbon show. But the way
26:30
I met you first is I'm the MC for the l MPD Foundation fundraiser every
26:36
year, and that's how I met you. I just got to say thank
26:38
you to everything you do for the l MPD Foundation because that foundation it's a
26:45
lifesaver in my eyes, it's a lifesaver for our officers and it's well worthy
26:51
of donations. But talk about LMPD fact, because you're not on You're on
26:55
the board, aren't you. Yes, you know. The Little Bit to Re Police Foundation, their whole mission is a support the men and women of
27:00
the LMPD and help offset some of the budget shortcomings that the city can't provide
27:06
for them, and mostly will help them with education programs, will help them
27:10
with emotional UH and financial support. If an officer gets hurt in a line
27:12
of duty, or one of their children that gets sick, or a spouse
27:17
gets ill, you know, obviously we're here to help them. In the years past, we've done things like FUNDU flack jackets for the canine unit,
27:22
flack jackets for the questioning unit. Right, one of our very generous and
27:26
honyms donators, donation supporters donate the funds to buy the high powered rifle flack
27:33
jackets for every officer, every single officer UH. The new wellness center that
27:38
the LPD has, that was a done by many people here in the community,
27:42
and it was it was donated by the Little Metro Police Foundation and ultimately
27:47
I think one of the programs that I'm personally very proud of is we also
27:49
provide marriage counseling support for every single officer and their spouse. Boy, is
27:53
that needed, because that's a tough get. Is a law enforcement is tough
27:56
on a marriage? You know, next week is Derby week. Everyone's on
28:00
duty, Everyone's they're told up front playing for being on duty. Right when
28:04
you see these guys out there, when you see them work in the corners,
28:07
when you see them walking around, and whether they be on on a bike, whether they be just walking the streets, whether it be on a
28:11
horse, take a moment and thank them because they're taking time away from their
28:15
families, they're working. They're out there to predict all of us, and
28:18
they're doing a great job doing it. So just like them, and I
28:22
promise you they will appreciate it absolutely. And we're talking all things bourbon.
28:26
Oh, Jeremy, I just got something in here, Dwight. This is
28:30
a news announcement for you. Oh, this is a big deal. This
28:32
is this is a bourbon news. So I don't know if it's bourbons.
28:37
This might be tequila news. Oh really, So our friends over at Bear
28:41
Knows Georgetown. He's just texted me and said they are not to be put
28:45
on their menu. The Kentucky Jackass and their Cotael Bear nos On Market will
28:52
have it and they'll also tried to add to all the other locations. Sure,
28:56
yeah, it will be featured next week really for Derby Week and to
29:00
be featured. Okay, let me see is that real? That is real?
29:04
There it is? That's excellent. It's excellent. Okay, how many
29:07
will be on your bill? I will say, Dave, I will say,
29:15
please, George, let's make it with number one, the quila of
29:18
course. Baby, I love bernals Pezza. All right, listen, Jeremy,
29:22
thank you for all you do for so many because you're you're constantly working
29:26
out in the community for others. But catch him on the Bourbon Show.
29:30
He's Jeremy Shall all things Bourbon. It was Derby Week coming up. We
29:33
want to get you in. Thank you for your time and meeting. Lots
29:37

29:41
