Thank you for joining us on Too Stupid to Know I Can’t.  During this episode we get to chat with Davis Douglas of D’Addario…makers of Evans Drumheads, ProMark Drumsticks, Puresound Wires, Real Feel Practice Pads, American Stage Cables along with a variety of other products for guitars and other instruments.

During this episode, we discuss the ideas, concepts and philosophies of D’Addario with about 90% of their products being made in the United States of America.  Additionally, we discuss some basic technology of drumheads and specifically the UV1.  More importantly, we get to talk about the soon to be released UV2.  Yes folks…that’s right, the long awaited 2-ply version of the UV Heads are coming to the market.  We discuss why and how this head is made along with some basic education regarding snare side heads and the various tuning concepts.  In addition, we also had a chance to talk about the EC Resonant heads which I’ve never played before, but now have me intrigued.

One of the cool things was our discussion of Puresound Wires and the technology that went into the Custom Pro Wires and why.  In case you weren’t aware of the coolness that is the Puresound Custom Pro wires, they implanted a “cotter pin” to release your wires from the throwoff without having to reset the wires.  It makes changing your snare side head super fast and easy, encouraging you to change your head more often which coincidentally is something also talk about.  Meaning the importance of changing resonant heads more often than people believe.
